You know you're church is redneck if: If you're mama wears a Harley Tshirt while teaching Sunday school.

..Another reason that I'm here...I knew WTF happened before I got here...I wanted to see who survived the ship wreck and help to pull them off the beach, half drowned. I've held more than one crying soul in my arms only to tell them "it's ok"...and cry with them... I've watched people who arrived on these shores...confused, scared and hurt...hurt badly...only to watch them heal...to grow strong and to begin helping others themselves...this place is an oasis in the storms of mental turmoil...where, when you think nobody understands, you realize that we ALL understand...and you begin to look around and learn...and you realize that you have found a place that is taylor made for your recovery...we are the people that stood next to you at the roa, under the big tent...and we are the same people who now sit at the counter sipping the coffee and telling our tales...and you feel at home...because you know that there are no strangers at the GreaseSpot Cafe... ...peace.

How could I not visit this thread to say to Happy Birthday to you... many more...smile, dammit smile... :)

Wow!...that was worth repeating...excellant.

How did I get here?...I did a search on twi a number of years ago...and found "Trancechat"...there were no rules there and it got pretty nasty to say the least...after that, I found WayDale and jumped right in...until my roomate moved and took his computer with him :( A couple of years passed and one day (after getting my own computer), I received an Email from Hillsbro...( a wonderful guy whom we see far too less often than suits me)...and he told me about the GreaseSpot... I've seen the evolution of this entire concept of an "ex twi" web site blossom into a diverse and balanced diner where the menu includes, not only coffee, but a wide range of recipes and a wide range of people... ...We can be thankful to Paul Allen who started Waydale and to Pawtucket who picked up the torch and continued to illuminate the possibilities of this website...and expand upon them I continue to stay here because I love to see new folks show up and begin the healing process from cult recovery...and I try to contribute to that in my own way...I continue to stay here because of the friends that I have made and the people who I care about...this is my hangout...it's cheaper than going to a bar.

Music is the inspiration of my soul... A song written by Bill Gaither: Thanks to Calvery: Today I went back to the place where I used to go Today I saw that same old crowd I used to know When they asked me what had happened, I tried to tell them Thanks to Calvery, I don't come here anymore Thanks to Calvery, I am not the man I used to be Thanks to Calvery, things are different than before While the tears ran down my face, I tried to tell them Thanks to Calvery, I don't come here anymore...

Let the testamonies on this thread be a reminder to all who read it, that VPW was not a well meaning Christian leader who "made some mistakes"...he was a scum bucket who was full of hypocracy and evil... He treated young females with total disregard to satisfy his own devilish lusts...he was the shepard who f***ed his own sheep. ...and this is why I first came to Trancechat and then to Waydale and then to GreaseSpot...to expose this lowlife counterfeit. Wierwille was a phoney in every regard...he stole the works of other people just to set up a front for himself to make money and lust after young girls...those of you who still regard him a a Christian minister...it would be wise to rethink you're opinion of him...he was neither a Christian or a minister...he was a monster.
-
How could I resist a thread with this title?... The teachings of twi and the disciplined behavior of a twi follower demands that they endure sacrifices for the good of the ministry...maybe old corncobs would help? The hand of cursing?...is that with paper in hand or just the hand itself?

Am I ready for my death?... ...what a lovely thought...mind if I get back to you later on that one? <_<

Allright Chas...calm down... :)...You're much to sweet to be so hostile! I agree...take away his keys...suspend his license...but it's not right to seize his car!...he presented himself as a severe POTENTIAL danger...but nobody got hurt...we should not take his car away from him...it belongs to him...it's his property! keep him off the road...fine...but let's not start taking property from people...it's a slippery slope.
-
I agree
-
David...I must disagree with you...there is a penalty for speeding...it shouldn't include taking the guys car away from him...he didn't hit any young girl or anyone else...pay the fine...that's equitable...but to seize people's property arbitrarily?...for driving too fast you lose your car? I think it violates our constitution.

Mini...Welcome to the GreaseSpot..sit down, take off your shoes, sit a spell... ...There's nowhere on earth that folks can relate to you and understand as much as we do...You're amoung friends here and we are all willing to listen and extend our hearts to you...it's what we do...it's who we are...Welcome! :)

I've seen this many times...the arrest of an individual often results in the seizing of their vehicle...this is pure bullsh *t... it's legal theft as far as I'm concerned...Rottiegrrrl is right...they are abusing what this was origally designed for...some guy has a pound of weed in his trunk and suddenly the local police own his car...that's not right...say what you will...it's not fair in most cases.

I listen to a LOT of music...here's what I've been getting into over the last month: Richard Thompson Jimmy Cliff (many Rivers)...which dooj posted on the music forum Jerry Garcia Greg Brown The Cathedrals (gospel) Donavon The Moody Blues Robert Earl Keene Johnny Cash Dexter Gordon (jazz) Sanity...a band that my best friend is managing and just signed a contract with Atlantic records...they are GOOD!

Happy birthday old man...
-
I spent 4 months there...I used to sneak up into the attic (where they had all sorts of things stored)...and "kill time"...it was spooky in a weird sort of way...I felt that the ghost of Uncle Harry was watching me or something...creeped me out.
-
To hear an innocent, sweet, little 6 year old girl sing THAT song...the way she did...made my entire day...thank you Connie...you just made an old fart cry...
-
Anything with tomato in it...tomato juice...V8 juice...cold pizza...left over spaghetti with sauce...even a mouthful of ketchup... always works for me...
-
A hearty congratulations!...You must feel really good about this...and rightfully so... ..."A woman's gift makes room for her"...
-
Why didn't I think of that?..."Clap on, Clap off"...makes perfect sense to me.
-
I think that Chris Geer would fit in nicely with the Bush administration...perhaps as a top official in the Homeland security department...or better yet, he might do well as a CIA interogator who helps to dispense torture...
-
almost comical?...C'mon now...it IS comical. and I'm glad that you actually think that my caustic posts are endearing...that touches me...really. any didn't you know that offense needs no defense...it only needs a target. Mean selves?...Yeah, I can be mean as hell when I decide to be...when I think that being mean serves a purpose... ...and actually, I DO count myself in with the other great folks here...I was only trying to be humble. ...So what is it annam, should we all "renew our minds" until we gain your approval?

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha...I think I "get it"...ha ha ha ha ha
