  1. I'm holding on to them from awhile longer...I have all of Wierille's books...hard cover. Right now they are selling on ebay for $25-$50 a piece....I'll give them another 10 years.
  2. Really?...I have seen plenty of hard evidence here...are you not looking at the same things I am or are you, perhaps, in some kind of denial?
  3. After reading many of your posts, I would ask you the same question. Wierwille's behavior disqualified him as a true Christian minister with his alcoholism and his predatory sexual escapades...The fact that he "cut and pasted" entire sections out of other people's books...and then put it "all together" indicates not only plagiarism...but an inability to express himself as real authors do. Wierwille was not an author...he was a con man...
  4. God guided him to plagiarize? Lift entire sections of other people's books...word for word...paragraph after paragraph? I thought God was against stealing. If he "worked the word" so much, why couldn't he formulate his own words to print? He even stole the names Johnny Jumpup, Maggie Muggins and Henry Baloko...
  5. ...turn me on dead man, turn me on dead man...
  6. Roy Underhill?...I thought it was Craig Martindale working at Home Depot!...but then again, the forehead was too small...
  7. Then children we shall be!...I think too many folks in this country get swept away with our minute rice mind culture and the instant gratification that the American consumer craves daily...perhaps your financial portfolio and the condition of your 401k is not the most important thing in life afterall...because in the final analysis the only thing you really have is your personal integrity and your faith... I talked with Jim Doop for 2 hours...a few months before his death...it was one of the greatest conversations I have ever had. He told me the whole story of the "waywest" and the arrival of VP cornfield...he told me a lot of things... As far as his book goes, he mentioned it in passing to me...but only vaguely. I believe that a family member of his posted here when he passed away...to let us know...perhaps that would be the person to ask about the book?
  8. I've stated several times that I think Greasespot is more than viable...whether it's Paw or someone else, there are many good reasons to have an anti-twi website. Sounds like Pawtucket plans to continue this site...which means that I will continue to do what I do here...and I predict that we will continue to be a thorn in the side of the cult known as twi... :) Is it true that Rosie is a bulldyke?
  9. I contend that wierwille fails the criteria defined in the bible for Christian leadership. His lifestyle lines up more with Simon the sorceror than any Christian leader...He has disqualified himself by his behavior...God would never give a man like this the responsibility of teaching his truth...anyone who thinks differently must ignore the very scriptures that they claim to believe. ...be that as it may...the teachings themselves are sophmoric and lacking true scholarship...he literally stole the works of other people...word for word...gimme a break! How can any of you take anything that came from him seriously? He was out to make money...not to teach the truth!
  10. Happy belated birthday to the Strange one...one of the defining voices of the Cafe and a credit to cartoon characters everywhere.
  11. Sorta like the Harvard Classics?... ...Not hardly...Wierwille's writing skills were sophmoric at best...equal perhaps to his grasp of "spiritual matters"...To this day, I still have all the written materials by Wierwille (waiting for the price to inflate on ebay)...and I cannot believe that an intelligent person would give any credence to this collection of...what shall we call it?...garbage sounds good... Isn't life short enough without wasting time chasing after the god peddlers? ...by the way, for those interested...Wierwille's books are valued at between $20 and 45 bucks a piece...hardbound in good condition can get ya $50!...I have a copy of the "blue book" and several others in hardbound...I'll sell the blue book for a hundred bucks right now...any takers?
  12. You're probably right...they counted each person who attended instead of only new people...I must have sat through that sucker 20 or 25 times...after awhile, I started volunteering for children's fellowship just so that I could get out of the room!...anything was better than being bored to death. There really wasn't that much to the class to begin with...if you were half way intelligent and paid attention...you pretty much got it the first time round...everybody pretended that the more you sat through it, the "deeper" it got... The only thing that got deeper were Vic's pockets.
  13. I agree with Raf...Sick Vic was making it up as he went...he loved to impress his "followers" with fantastic stories like the snow on the gaspumps... Wierwille was one of the most insecure people I have ever known. He demanded adoration and all eyes were to be on him...never to be questioned and always to be obeyed...and believed...especially, believed. The fake doctor encouraged people to elevate him with myths...from the snow on the gaspumps, his "gift ministries", his great trip to India, the snow storm in Tulsa...all of it was baloney...sliced thick
  14. ...I don't buy it either...not many do...but there are some who do buy it. For them, it's like Dorothy clicking her heels three times in the magic slippers...and she's finally home...or so she thinks. Actually, she has been carried off by the flying monkeys into the evil forest. Jim Doop told me shortly before he passed away that the first thing Wierwille asked when he got to California was ..."take me to a sex orgy"... This plagiarizing, drunken sexual predator...God spoke to him? ...and some believe that?... Wierwille was a con man...plain and simple.
  15. ...And let's not forget that this story still directly and indirectly...is the impetus for the current twi as well as John Lynn's dog and pony show...(as he recently invoked this story in his "Dr. Wierwille would be proud of us" crapola)...and of course how could we forget the newest member to the Wierwille lunacy club, J2P2 with his resurrection of the "vision"... Smith with the Mormons had his encounter with moroni the angel (or some such thing)...Wierwille made his claim to the divine with the snowstorm stories...(which included the audible voice of God)...I guess God musta known the best time to catch Wierwille when he wasn't drunk... This whole subject demonstrates clearly that Wierwille calculated this whole thing out...whatever else Wierwille was, he wasn't stupid...immoral, despicable, disgusting...sure, but not stupid. He pulled it off in a way that would have made Elmer Gantry proud. Snow on the gas pumps...freakin' genius! It was July of 1975 in Fredonia, NY when I first heard this and bought into it...after that... ...What a long strange trip it's been...
  16. ...and there you have it. I contend that the snow on the gaspumps story was the "hook" in pfal...If you bought THAT story, everything else was swallowed hook, line and sinker...Wierwille could have taught us that Alfred E Newman was one of the 12 disciples and we would have bought it. I mean...God talked to this guy!!! That was the message he delivered and we sucked it up like Cooter Brown and a jug of moonshine...off to see the wizard, the terrible lizard of Oz, New Knoxville... Yes...Wierwille's "snow stories" were definitely the hook in his con.
  17. Nice post leafy...straight from the heart. ...and also a great example of why many of us have been here for years. I'll be honest...I "got over it" a looooooooong time ago...but I continue to post because there are still a lot of folks out there who need to hear this stuff. It's something that I can do (a little caustic at times :) , but hey, every class needs it's clown... ...and there IS a steady stream of new people coming here almost daily...viable?...you bet.
  18. Yeah...I second what doojie just said. Makes sense to me...a website like this one will continue to be viable for as long as twi continues to exist and we are all alive...As far as getting along?...Nothing wrong with disagreeing...it's healthy. It would be boring without debate...and my favorites at GreaseSpot have always been when people are passionately conveying opposing views. I don't dislike anyone because they disagree with me...a good example is satori...he and I disagreed like crazy in the politics forum but I learned to respect him and actually enjoyed reading his posts when he disagreed with me...I think it's part of being honest and being an individual...and that's healthy...
  19. Socks...Thanks for the clarification. I've always enjoyed the way you post...civil, thoughtful and intelligent...didn't mean to be so sarcastic about the "mean people" thing... :) I suppose the part that sticks in my craw is that it's referred to as the Way Corps website...shouldn't it be the FORMER Waycorps website?...I find the implication unsettling...but anyway, thanks for your response.

    A Poem

Thank you Clay Jay...Fantastic!...one of my favorites as well.
  21. Sorry...no breaks... ...This subject has been discussed before and I have heard all the arguments in favor of Richeson's website...I simply disagree...I think it's pathetic. I WAS in the corps and I've been to this site...no thanks, no church with you boy. "Starting your own website with a specific purpose that is different from that of the cafe is NOT starting some freaking splinter group."...a specific purpose?...lemme see, the purpose is to exchange recipes to provide better tasting baked goods?...Hmmm, no, I don't think so. Your generalizations avoid the brutal and ugly truth...Go back and read satori's post...I agree with him. They are paying homage to a monster and trying to make their "corps experience" into something other than what it was...they are, in reality, glorifying the activities of a CULT that screwed people's lives up...if you had the opprotunity (like I did) to cruise through this site...you would see just how screwed up some of them still are. It's threads like this that underscore the differences between the opinions here at the GreaseSpot...Some folks here will admit that Wierwille abused people BUT they still hold on to his false teachings..."it's the word, bless your heart"...In my opinion, the entire package was horribly screwed up...and when I see people who are resurrecting the "good old days" of the corps experience, I am not bashful in stating my opinion...they stole 13 years of my life and I feel strongly about this. Garth...I don't care HOW well you know Richeson...and as far as it goes THEY have put themselves into the same category as "abusive cults"...I have nothing against them personally, but I have issues with what they are doing...this isn't a high school reunion...for crying out loud...this was a cult that destroyed lives!!! ...so what is it?...let's start a website that romanticizes this cult experience and by the way...we don't want any "bad" people to point out the obvious evil that was inflicted?...Do they have a right to do this?...of course...even as I have a right to speak out against it.
  22. Really?...and should we also not mention Victor Paul Wierwille on these threads because he is not posting here? ...or John Lynn?...seems to me that the Richesons have started their own splinter group and are fair game. ...Where's my tweezers?
  23. "Mean" people?...Is that the same as saying people who disagree? Twi (the way corps to a LARGE degree), lied in God's name and hurt a lot of people...and now they want to get together to "reconnect"...kinda like a mutual admiration society for those who "meant well"...sorry, no dice. Twi was an insideous cult and romanticising about it on Richeson's website only opens up old sores...guilt by association! This website is elitist, controlled and counterproductive to reality. It's a sham. ...may their green name tags come to life and bite them.
  24. waysider...Well said! Wierwille's theology was full of holes...his snow on the gas pumps story is ludicrous at best...but it served as the "hook" that snagged so many wayfers into the cult. Wierwille was a con man...plain and simple.
