Thank you bowtie... There is a time for every purpose under heaven...today many of us grieve...as we should...but in a larger sense, my life has been enriched by knowing him as I did...and in the days and years to come, I will draw upon the memories and be thankful that I was fortunate enough to have had the time that I did with him. Rumrunner did not want people to mourn his passing...His desire was for those who loved him to move on...and to celebrate the joys of their own lives...and to live honestly and to live well.

...and Evan, he spoke very highly of you. What can I say, Rumrunner was my best friend for over 50 years...we grew up next door to each other...he was more than a brother to me. He was the most intelligent person I have ever known and the things he did in his life are mind boggling... his heart of caring was profound and his courage was an inspiration to me. Our friendship was deep and unbreakable ...in 50 years we never had a falling out or a serious argument...my heart grieves more than I can express. I feel a void that I have never felt before... He gave the truest gift he had to give...and now his work is done...God speed my dearest friend.

After reading this thread, I would have to say that Rosie the riveter, for the most part...get's a free pass at GreaseSpot...relative to which she deserves!! I remember meeting her for the first time at "pfal 77"...She had been put in charge of some important "operation function" at this event and old Vic was introducing her around. She came across as a southern belle with a sick syrupy southern drawl that invoked vague memories of a horror movie. She reeked of insincerity and her ambition bubbled from her like the fumes of a boiling tar pit. It was clear at that moment that she was a rising star in the false prohet's cult. I figured that Vic was getting tired of the "hippie chick" image and was trying to inject, what he considered, a more polished and sophisticated look...but who knows, maybe Rosie was polishing Vic's knob. At any rate, I think that we Greasespotters should be putting the boots to Rosie a little harder...afterall, it's OUR abs money she's still living off of!

Not a bad idea...Every year on the anniversary of his death...we should throw a "Vics dead" party. ...So it would seem that twi goes through the motions of running a "ministry" in order to protect it's assets and it's non-profit status with the IRS. I suspect that they make more money through investments than they do in the actual work of the "ministry"... What a joke.

...In spite of modeling their organization and their basic teachings after twi, there is no mention of their past involvement with twi...Who would want to mention that their "Christian training" originated in a mind control cult...

...And so it goes...most of us only heard about this stuff after the fact...but there were many who were victims...and yes, I use the word victims. When someone uses their authority to lord over another person and to take advantage of them sexually, it's not only immoral...but it's also a crime. Wierwille stole the works of other people to run his "ministry" because he was morally bankrupt. He was incapable of being a genuine Christian minister because he chose the path of lying, laziness, drunkeness and adultry...his true disciples did the same. The rest of us who still had a sense of decency walked away.

I was also corps...and I echo what George says... Here's the thing...when I used to listen to a bible teaching or I was praying or I was at a "fellowship"...I was thinking about God...not about getting laid. What kind of monsters were running this "ministry" that they were setting themselves up to get laid while pretending to be Christian ministers? At least when a guy is hitting on you at a bar, there's no pretense...these guys were LYING IN GOD"S NAME!!! Their motivation was to get laid...and that's pretty sick in my estimation.

This whole "money tracking" thing was a point of contention for me just before I left twi in 1987... I sat down with the limb coordinator (clergy) and reminded him that God gave the increase...that He kept track of who gave from the heart...not people...I then announced that all my future tithes and donations would be given without reference to my name... He was furious...but had absolutely no scripture to back him up... ...Of course I never gave them another dime...and shortly thereafter, I left.

Welcome to the Way International! Come in, sit down...there are no strangers at the Way...only friends we haven't met yet... ...Oh wait a minute...things have changed a bit. Actually, there ARE strangers at the Way...and they are not welcome. Even though we have the "rightly divided word", we will make it next to impossible for any outsiders to come and listen. This is not like church where we welcome visitors...this is a CLOSED CORPORATION...where we wallow in our 54 million dollars and laugh all the way to the bank...but we are the true "remnant"...we are the household of God! I suppose the first twi belief to go was indeed...the "law" of believing. once I knew that was phoney, the rest of it crumbled like a house of cards.

...but just think...you got to wear the advanced class grad nametag afterwords.

A little side note...E. Stanley Jones wrote a book (I think in the 30's) entitled "Abundant Living"...in which he chronicles his day to day life living in the Ashram...the concept of the ashram was to live with your teachers...eat with them, work with them, etc etc...sound familiar? What Wierwille did would be like taking a tour of the Hershey factory and then later on...telling everybody you invented candy bars.

The entire time I was in twi (13 years), the so called "friends" that I made were invariably conditional friends...when I left twi, they turned on me like the brainwashed fake friends that they were. After I left twi, I discovered that my real friends...people I did acid with, people I drank beer with, worked with knew from the "old days"...were still my real friends...

It's amazing that they taught that the greatest leader was the greatest servant as they themselves were waited on hand and foot...they claimed that it was out of "respect for for the word" or some such nonsense that they lived like kings. ...all part of the scam.

From all accounts, Rosie the riveter is a disgusting human...If she had a shread of decency, she would dissolve twi and return our money to us. Yeah right...that's gonna happen.

Absolutely...It was Vic himself who started this diatribe. It went along with his mog of the world myth...and his claim that he was teaching the werd as it hadn't been known since the 1st century... ...calling twi "God's ministry" was a small step in logic after swallowing the other baloney...and it all started with the snow on the gaspumps story.
