Somehow it seems fitting that a certain VPW lost an eye...to the big C, no less... Even though it was LCM that did the yelling and screaming - it was on vp's watch. For the record, I wouldn't celebrate vp's illness. There just seems to be a bit of poetic justice in it all. I'm so happy that Liz was able to make her life productive. Her inner strength shone through and God's hand apparently guided her. God didn't make her sick, but he certainly did heal her life, if not her body. I'm sure she is a blessing to all she meets.

VP was very good at getting what he wanted. No matter what he "wished" in public - if he wanted something he found a way to get it. If he was so darn sure that multiple teachers were necessary, he would have announced on a SNS tape that he wasn't going to teach the class himself anymore, with the exception of large scale classes like PFAL '77. Besides, as a supposed gift minister (as he claimed to be) he was supposed to be helping believers mature, not keep them in the infant stages. Just compare that attitude to Paul with the Corinthians. Once again, your reading into this what your "impression" is. I'll wait for Johnj to answer for himself, but I'd venture that he is using the word more like when "evidence is admitted" - hence, "entered in or into. - ie - allowed." Again, what vpw wanted, he got or took... There is no hate here. It's simple observation. OH so now we're "pulling a Saul" are we? Blaming the people for his (vp's) lack? Sorry, but I don't buy it. So he decided that his books were more complete than the scriptures? I don't even believe that vpw believed that. Well - I'd say that vpw just learned from those branch leaders... I have to think about how to phrase my understanding of what you just said. Basically, I have found that the bigger picture comes from being familiar and comfortable with the smaller units. I'm thinking of skills here, mostly. The more comfortable you are with a set of sub-set skills - the more fluid you are with the "global skill." Then you can integrate the skill into other skills. I suspect it's similiar in most areas of life.

It really depends... if the kids are around or not. I've been known to walk around the house in my birthday suit... edited to fix my poor english...

Good-NESS! If VPW couldn't get a consistent definition of "needs and want's parallel" back when he parroted taught the class and wrote the collaterals, what does that tell you??!!! He wanted us to validate his class by "making it our own" but he never made it his own to begin with.

It is the nature of man to want a king. - (or at least another sheep to lead the way so they can just follow mindlessly... <_< ) You are there for a reason. Don't give up. Don't give in. Listen with your heart and think before you speak....You know all this already. Remember that ultimately you are showing them God's love and your love in term.

This is precisely what I believe my value is when I go to my church. Having been a cult-head, I can recognize thinking that is just plain wrong. I KNOW that when I see that glassy-eyed look fall on people as they take in BS, that I have to say something. Keep at it. Someone will hear you. Remember though, that this idea of God sending sickness is very old and very well received.
