Now I have competing information. I'll stop after this since it's off topic. Tilapia- St. Peter's Fish The Genus Tilapia This Tilapia is endemic to warm waters throughout the world. The aquaculture, or fish farming, of Tilapia is recorded in human history as far back as ancient Egypt. Tradition holds that the Tilapia was the fish that Jesus used to feed the five-thousand on the Sea of Galilee - thus one of its common names, "St. Peter's Fish." Tilapia is also referred to as "The Wonder Fish."

This from Wikipedia:Tilapia As they have been introduced globally for human consumption, tilapia often have specific names for them in various languages and dialects. Certain species of tilapia are sometimes called "St. Peter's fish". This term is taken from the account in the Christian Bible about the apostle Peter catching a fish that carried a shekel coin in its mouth. According to the tale, the dark spots on the sides of the fish, a common pattern in many tilapiine cichlids, are the fingermarks of the saint.[7] While that name is also applied to Zeus faber, a marine fish not found in the area, one tilapia (Sarotherodon galilaeus galilaeus) is known to be found in Sea of Galilee where the account supposedly took place. This particular species is known to have been the target of small-scale artisanal fisheries in the area for thousands of years.[8][9] In some Asian countries including the Philippines, large tilapia are often referred to as pla-pla while their smaller brethren are still referred to as tilapia.[10] In Arabic, tilapia are called bolty (بلطي ).[citation needed I'll try to get another source since some folks dont care for Wikipedia because of it's lack of pedigree.

It's not a real scientific or scholarly approach, but here they have touted "tilapia" as the "miracle fish," in reference to the miracle where Jesus gets the coin out of the fish's mouth. It never mattered to me because I like the taste of the fish and I don't buy food based on that kind of information. I'll look it up now and get back on what I find.

I figured they gave the rate of gravity just to see if the test taker would know how to use the formula. I never thought it was an number.

Mike, I never got the Way rag, after the free subscription ran out. Didn't get the tapes either. I couldn't afford them. That is not how a MOG is to confront evil.

Mike - I'm sure that a lot of us remember that teaching. I'm sure that a lot of us even went so far as to try to live that teaching. Of course problems ensued when you (anyone - not just you) had a leader that used his affected spiritual prowess to undermine what you knew to be true. You know as well as anyone that lots of things got re-interpreted on the field. Phrases like, "don't walk by the five senses," and "your so smart you tend to lean on your 5 senses instead of walking spiritually." were common. Now, here's the kicker. VPW knew this was going on. He never reproved that behaviour, nor he teach to correct the wrong doctrine. When I was in rez I was taught that it took more teaching to reprove and correct properly than it did to lay out the doctrine to begin with. Honestly, I believe it was convenient for VPW to keep that wrong doctrine going.

Thank-you snookums!;) Pm or call me...

Look at the context of that request: Sooo.. What was asked for was scripture to back up the complaints. That has been done and was continued on the thread. There are not always simple one verse answers to everything. The second thing he wanted to do was condemn: He not only presumes that lots of the folks here saw that video, but that they ignored it as well. Then he further assumes God's will in all of this. (Remember that Paul went to Macedonia after he was told to bypass a lot of other cities he thought needed the Gospel.) Lastly, if these students truly prayed for God to help them, it doesn't necessarily follow that they were asking for folks to go out and help them preach. Having not seen the clip it appears they asked for God's help. Who's to say that God didn't answer their prayer?

JustSayHi - A Free Dating WebsiteNot bad... I would have liked to have done better. I don't remember learning most of that in 8th Grade. I think I learned some of it then and most of it since.

I have to say that I never bought into that BS. I trusted that God meant it when He announced "it is very good." after Adam and Eve were finished... with their five senses in full working order. He gave us both because we need both. So, no matter what some MOG told me - I just kept doing what I wanted. TWI was never any good at teaching how tobalance different aspects of life. There was always a theme and a new catch phrase in a sound bite. Fast food religion in a throw away container.

I heard that phrase used when a intellectually challenged clergy was intimidated by a mere "twigger" because he was smart. Oh and how he hated it when someone got a degree! (Unless of course, it was his kid.)

Oldies... Big statement there. First, it isn't necessarily true that all the Pharisees were children of the devil. Jesus said to a group of Pharisees that challenged him that their father was the "Father of lies." It was a specific group that he spoke to. Remember that Nicodemus was a Pharisee. And suppose.. just suppose, you're wrong. If even a fraction of the stories about VPW's lusts are true. Suppose it's true he taught even one man to follow in his footsteps of sin. If even a small portion of that is true, then he is responsible for killing Christ in the sense that he hurt one of God's children, a member of the Body of Christ. As to who has the gall to call Weirwille a Pharisee. You know full well and good that the phrase "Pharisee" refers to a person who says one thing while he does another. One who makes laws so strict that he himself can't follow them. Shame on you if you can't see the comparison.

Furthermore, it doesn't matter if you believe it happened or not. It either happened or it didn't. There is no amount of disbelief that will change what happened. There are real people who have come forward with real stories. Some of these stories are horrific. Many of these people believed they were an isolated instance. Some believed it was their fault. We aren't just talking about one affair. We are talking about systematized error that allowed what legally could be referred to as "sexual harrassment." I wasn't one of those women. BUT I had enough clergy and clergy wannabes ask me some questions that, had I answered them in the fashion they desired, would have been seen as me giving them permission to have their way with me.

I was never offered that class. It wasn't even offered when I was in rez. THAT might tell you something. It wasn't important enough to run on the field on a regular basis.

OH those weekends at hotels... <_< Various retreats and weekends in the word were held there. One time (the LAST TIME) I attended a weekend in the Word, we had a 1PM check out time. The clergy guy running the meeting let it run over...we were out of that room close to the deadline, but the line to check out was so long.... We had paid ahead of time so we handed in our key (actually left it on the counter) and were on our way. About a week or so passed and we got a letter from Mr. AnalRetentiveAboutDetails: "Please take care of this." signed - Rev. ARAD Apparently the hotel tried to charge us for an extra day because HE let us out late. We wrote the hotel a note informing them of the problem. We then wrote the Rev. and informed him that the problem was his since he let us out so late that there was no way to get that key turned in on time.

I know that "non-profit" means that the employees still get paid. If a non-profit corporation doesn't spend a certain amount of it's "profits" they lose their status and must again pay taxes. Sooo.. what you're saying then is that the financial holdings of TWI that are in offshore accounts - was stolen? Judas seems an appropriate name to summon up.
