Ummmm - The THEORY of RELATIVITY....
-
Most days I"m happy. Life takes it's turns and things happen, but in the end life is good.

LOCKBOX! *spit* What a manipulating bunch of BS! The lockbox was only "locked" when it suited the needs of some self-proclaimed MOG wanting you to cover his arse. Words like "integrity" and "honesty" were thrown around like beads at a Mardi Gras parade. They were part of the lie and the manipulation. I once found myself in a situation where I had to decide if keeping a confidence was going to further enable a dog...errr... mog in his predatation of women. It went against everything in me to speak up. I hesitated. I tried not to speak. I tried to leave room for my error. I spoke up, but I did it the wrong way. I should have spoken plainly and loudly. In the end, I was wrong - because I didn't say what I saw and just move on. But the dog... mog (I keep mixing it up) - he used information to keep himself insulated. He played people against each other. And to this day people think he's wonderful. Go figure... *spit* It has caused me to consider that when someone asks me to keep a confidence, I should first make sure they understand that promise is made on one condition only....If I find that the information I hold allows someone to be hurt as long as it is hidden, all bets are off.

Belle - My grandmother used to make a stuffed mushroom recipe almost exactly like the one RG posted. The only difference is that she dipped it in beaten egg and cooked them on an oiled cookie sheet for about 45 min at 350* She used to dip the stems in egg and place them in the stuffing so they looked like "whole mushrooms again." They're fantastic at room temperature.

And no one considered the consequences of obeying a husband/mog that had little or no moral center. If he was a mean, beligerent drunk...if he slept with every twigger he could... if he beat the wife or kids... if he made decisions that endangered or drove the family into a financial hole - well, he was still the mini-mog for that family. That is a custom-made enabler, IMHO. The web got very tangled, to say the least.

Another "sales line" : "What would you give to have....more harmony in the home, freedom from whatever...?" Variation: "What would it take to get you in this next class?"

Nero - This is a hard time for you and my prayers are with you. My mother died of a brain tumor. For over a year she was in a coma but she could still hear. My grandmother would hold her hand and ask her questions. Mom would squeeze once for "Yes" and twice for "No.' She knew who was in the room even though her eyes weren't opened. She had little hair because of various surgeries. Yet, she was MOM. When she lay there in her bed, quiet and seemingly sleeping, all I could think about was that that was MY Mom. All my memories of her, all her love, all her wise words - they filled me and continue to speak to me to this day. As I looked at her lying there - all I could remember was the vibrant, intelligent woman that had raised me up to that point. Now my dad is also suffering from either Altzheimer's or what they are calling "mini strokes." He asks 3 times in a conversation how many girls I have, their names, and their ages. BUT he's still MY DAD. Forget about TWI. Forget about soul, spirit, and all that stuff. Just love your DAD. How can he be a shell if just one look at him fills you with fond memories? Shells are empty and require filling. His presence has filled your life and will continue to do so. He will continue to teach you...

Yeah... what Twinky said...;)

"Look at this list of promises. Which of these would you like to see come to pass in your life?" Sheeesh - I feel dirty now. Then there was the "incidents" that D*ve Bed*rd taught us to tell...
-
OUCH! I took that as an order from leadership... ;) :(

Okay - I never add pictures... but for you I'll make an exception. Happy Birthday Chas!

There's a rumor that Ex10 and I already have a date set for next year...
-
I dunno... When someone from HQ lurks here at the Cafe... or the very fact that it is known that it happens... is it an insult to the Cafe community? Just wondering here...
-
Good people and good times. Thanks for opening up your home to us Ex10. Tell the hubby he's amazing.

Well..... On Friday night we had homemade lasagna with bracciole, meatballs and Italian sausage. Don'tWorryBeHappy brought lobster tails which we served with melted butter. (Lawbstah and buttah...;) Saturday we had Chicken Tortilla Soup in the afternoon, along with various salsas and dips for chips. Saturday night we had smoked turkey and brisket with the Countess's world famous potato salad, jalapeno poppers, beans and salad. For dessert there was Tiramisu, Boston Cream Pie, (in honor of the Red Socks winning the series ;)) Twinky's wonderful Sticky Toffee Pudding and a lovely fruit topped cheesecake that NiKA brought. Mojitos flowed, along with lots of wine and beer. Gotta start on next year's menu....
