Is there a movie called, "Bobbing Man"?
-
I didn't learn that. I saw it - but I didn't learn it. The games that got played... Sad really...

Is this really necessary? I mean...at what point does the offended person become the offender? I understand the need to process and work out event's of the past. But, does processing in this way give anyone license to start a new wound that will someday need to be opened up - and the "process of healing" begun anew? I mean no disrespect to anyone. I'm just thinking out loud here...

George, Thanks for sharing something so personal that it usually would be found in a journal. There really aren't any other appropriate words. Dooj

I needed to go way back to remember using this phrase. I used it because I heard it. In the verses quoted, hands are being raised - not prayer requests. While in TWI I heard the practice of "raising holy hands" mocked as being in the same vein as rolling on the floor. Can't be too emotional when it comes to Gawd, dontcha know. I guess that my understanding of the use of the phrase was that it was a euphemism for saying that a person would pray for someone. In TWI it always seemed to be important to have another way to say something. When I thought about the phrase I figured it was more like putting wings on a prayer request. Even writing that seems weird. I never thought about the use of the phrase back then. Now that I have thought about it, I'm glad I stopped using it.

I'm going to comment, but I feel like this is going nowhere.... No WD. What you're communicating (maybe without intent) is that you stand for something you can believe. That isn't necessarily TRUTH per se. You are still treating this like it is a court of law. You're neither counsellor, jury, nor judge in this matter. No one is on trial here. Read above comments. Your tenacious holding to a a standard more strict than that in a court of law serves to communicate a distrust for the facts as stated by people giving their eye-witness accounts. That distrust has been taken as you denying the testimonies are true. You may not intend this outcome, but that is what is occuring. It is the reason for the angst directed at you. Where is the court? When is the trial? What are the consequences? Talking and working things out is a far cry from condemning a person for a crime and letting them rot in jail. There is no electric chair here. I see no gallows. The people being judged (for the most part) have the prisons of their own consciences to deal with. If you believe in a heavenly judgement, then there are those who will have to face that as well. In the long run, the stories told here do little to change that outcome.

The obvious end to all of this is to say to WD and anyone else of his ilk, "I KNOW WHAT HAPPENED. I WAS THERE AND YOU WEREN'T. WHETHER OR NOT YOU BELIEVE ME DOESN'T CHANGE A THING - IT ONLY SAYS SOMETHING ABOUT YOU." Then move on and tell whatever you want to tell. Perhaps all that "It's not true without documentation" is just bait - and the hook is the pain and bother of trying to convince a man or men against their will. Why not just ignore these comments and not address them? I don't answer telemarketer calls because they annoy me. Why keep addressing comments that are annoying?

Wait! Huh?!!! Me? How did I get in this? I just commented on Sudo's choice of Latin dance... I think it's Sudo in drag... again! Mama always told me to stay away from the yellow snow... I

You're oversimplifying the definition of the word "truth" so that it fits with what you want to say. Truth I'd call that dishonest.

I wasn't able to open that link P-Mosh, but I did find this link: Handbell Hero I did *OKAY* with Jingle Bells - but I certainly didn't get a high score.

Nero - my daughters' grandfather went through this this past summer. He got real bad and it looked like it would be the end for him. He made it through. I only say this to tell you that all may not be lost. I'm not offering false hope. I really have no answers. If you feel like you need to be with your dad be straight with your boss and see what arrangements can be made.

Yes, Dear Twinky, we eat. When I was growing up my grandmother would always make a seafood repast on Christmas Eve. We had Lobster, and a seafood marinara sauce over Linguine. The next day we had homemade ravioli, roast beef, salad, and various other foods that I don't remember. Since living in Texas, there has been no traditional Christmas dinner. I don't like making turkey twice. This year I asked the girls what they want and the unanimous vote was for....... Lasagna! So that's what we will have. I'll also make that yummy cranberry salad they love, along with whatever else they request.

Good friends knew why I left. I didn't work to take anyone out with me, but I didn't hide my actions either. I was open with anyone and everyone that asked.

I'm sorry, WD but you have things turned around. If something happened to me it is my experience. That in and of itself is what is true. NOW, you may not accept my account as true, but your belief in the verity of my experience does not change what is true. If a man commits murder he is guilty. It may not be proven in a court of law. That doesn't make him innocent - it merely says that in a court of law there was not enough evidence to declare him guilty. HIS acts are what make him guilty in truth and in fact. He is not "Innocent." He is merely "Not Guilty." So while you may say that if I don't have a way to verify my negative or positive experiences, they are no less what they are. I see how you can sit there and refuse to accept them as fact- but I truly feel like you are holding to a legal standard with an almost illogical amount of tenacity. We have all been frustrated by watching a criminal get off the hook on a legal technicality. In a way you are providing that same technicality for lots of wrongs at the hands of TWI leadership. As to the teachings in TWI. There were a lot of things that got taught by ordained men and women that were never written down. Perhaps some of these teachings found their way to audio tape - but I for one discarded all teachings and Way Prod tapes when I left. There was an official stance taken on many issues and there was also an unofficial stance. A BC would teach something, which would make it up the Way Tree to the Limb. Sometimes these things got addressed, sometimes they got ignored. The teachings and doctrines were never addressed in print because the errors were never printed. There is a difference in adhering to the letter of the law as opposed to the spirit of the law. Lawyers play this grey area up all the time. *Edited to add that *I* doesn't refer to *me* as much as it refers to anyone telling a personal experience.*
