I have come to the conclusion that I know a LOT less than I ever thought I knew... So, what I worked in the past is irrelevant to me. I don't even like the phrase, "work the Word" anymore... it seems to point to manipulation - like the way people "work a room," or "work people." So, if you won't say what you think you know, then for me at least, this discussion is over.

I don't mean to tell you "when" to do anything. You claim there are contradictions... I'd say the burden of proof is on you. You made the statement. I don't believe that either T-Bone or I ever said we would be willing students to your tutelage... so the Socratic method is not applicable here.

Well Twinky, IF you can catch the scaredy cat, you may take her to the vet to make sure she's not in any pain. I had two littermates. They usually weren't far from each other until one of them got sick (unbeknownst to us) with a kind of gastro-intestinal thing. She went weeks hissing and spitting and we just thought it was the biotch in her coming out. The one night we heard her hissing and spitting at nothing. We had read that cats spit and hiss at their pain - as if it is an enemy. They try to run from it, hide from it, whatever one would do to avoid an enemy. We took her to the vet, she got her meds and in a week she was the "love pig" we had come to know and love.

Rascal... I don't have answers - just "maybes." What I don't see working is the constant back and forth of scriptures. IMHO both sides are ignoring an abundance of scripture to maintain a point. What all this tells me is that the subject is not black and white but it is filled with emotion. Emotion is just as valid as reason - or else we would not have the capacity to utilize both. Room must be made for emotions - on both sides of the argument. At one point, if one isn't careful, the arguing for either side gets to be as filled with ego and vengeance as the TWI we despise. I'm not accusing anyone of anything. I say this after having to sit and take a look at why it is that I once posted so much. It's just an opinion. It's not fact. It's not truth. Maybe it's my wimpiness talking.

Sometimes I wonder if all this "Battle of the Scriptures" really gets anyone anywhere... I've watched this thread for a while now. I've seen good arguments made on both sides - using scripture. Isn't it possible - just possible - that life isn't as black and white as we were lead to believe? Perhaps there are bigger answers out there that involve tolerance and understanding of the other person.... Meeting a person where they're at and allowing them to be who and what they are while you are who and what you are.... Maybe the best change comes naturally....and not with a lot of striving and contention. Just thinking - hence all the "maybe."
