Is she "Like a Rainbow"??? by the Rolling Stones -
In my town a lot of homeschoolers go to the local Scottish Rite Hospital for free testing and evaluation. I'd also like to mention that while your oldest son has the opportunity for a "brother" in his friend while living with this family - that there is a flesh and blood brother at home who needs his big-brother. That said, only your family can decide what is best in this situation. Perhaps you can make this decision on a temporary basis at first and re-evaluate after 1 month, then again after another 3 months. I'm sure you'll find a solution that fits and serves everyone.

Oh I think that IE is an inferior product.

You're right, bfh.

Nope. It is a woman. Another quote: "She learned a lot about music during these free nights in the summer-time. When she walked out in the rich parts of town every house had a radio. All the windows were open and she could hear the music very marvelous. After a while she knew which houses tuned in for the programs she wanted to hear. There was one special house that got all the good orchestras. And at night she would go to this house and sneak into the dark yard to listen. There was beautiful shrubbery around this house, and she would sit under a bush near the window. And after it was all over she would stand in the dark yard with her hands in her pockets and think for a long time. That was the realest part of all the summer -- her listening to this music on the radio and studying about it."

Here's one of my favorite authors: "This music did not take a long time or a short time. It did not have anything to do with time going by at all. She sat with her arms held tight around her legs, biting her salty knee very hard. It might have been five minutes she listened or half the night. The second part was black-colored --a slow march. Not sad, but like the whole world was dead and black and there was no use thinking back how it was before. One of those horn kind of instruments played a sad and silver tune. Then the music rose up angry and with excitement underneath. And finally the black march again."

Go for it, WS! I was just listening to a cover of this song by Annie Lenox. (When I realized that I didn't know the group I went to YouTube to educate myself. Not only did I find the group, I found several neat covers. -
My kids are excited about the Safari browser by Apple. It's fast! It's apparently the same browser that comes downloaded in the iPhone. I've just gotten used to Firefox and I like how it helps me keep junk out of my computer. Does anyone have any info on Safari?

"Whiter Shade of Pale" but I'm not sure about the artist... -
Looking back now, it seems that it wasn't so much "The Word in Culture" as it was "TWI's Culture in Us." If WE could be inundated with all things TWI, then would carry vp's culture out to the masses. VP was no fool... well not in the traditional sense anyway... He knew that he had some really smart, really talented folks two-steppin' to his caravan music. Looking back with lots of 20/20 hindsight, I think he was counting on these men and women to make his mark for him. Of course, once again he was gonna' take credit for something he didn't do himself.

I was so stumped that I went to a listing of TV shows and looked for a show that I knew I could find some photos for.... The "theme" is quite accidental.

Don't forget the "top" or "bottom" options for the opinionated...

Maybe W^lter really said, "Great googly moogly!"

NOW we have some context! So it was still an "Us vs Them" scenario. Because of who this book was revering WJC was indeed speaking for a researcher "a la TWI." So.. WD - set the record straight with a direct quote (facts - you're fond of them) and put that quote in direct context. I'll wait. I promise to not get ahead of you with speculation or (Gawd forbid) independent critical thought.

Maybe it was a mini rapper...

Okay... so now you're the one making a jump. You're assuming you know my motives and my thinking processes. You don't know me. So equate that with not having read the material. That Sir, (and I AM making a jump using that term) is not even in keeping with your own rules. I am allowed to think. In the absence of information (that I asked for, BTW) I speculated. (Heck, I even admitted that I got impatient.) The context (remember that concept?) lead to vp because W^lter was the head of his Research Dept. In the phrase, "the teacher told me to look up "leaps in logic." I would have no such context. I would have to assume that you were speaking of a generic teacher. Now if you said, "The Teacher" and you said it here at GSC - then that would be another thing altogether. But you wouldn't make that mistake now, would you?

This is starting to feel like ping-pong... I'll post later... I need to remember some TV shows.

Okay... here's a side by side comparison: Does the Pope say. "That's ri-ight!" ???
