Is it any wonder that it takes 9 (count them NINE) Supreme Court Judges to make a decision? It's up to them to interpret a law and judge whether or not it passes Constitutional standards, yet it all seems oh so easy for armchair legal experts with little or no knowlege of Constitutional law to judge their judgments. I wouldn't want their job. Their perks - yes :), but not their job. I don't have to agree or disagree with them to respect what they do.

The evils of Cleveland's Rock & Roll Hall of Fame?

(sorry) Isn't vp buried near or under that fountain? Hmmmm... IIRC supposedly the "spurt of Leviathan" was the spurt that pozzezzed alcoholics and the victard said that they always needed to live near water. -
No afternoon delight for animals?!!! :o Why that's inhumane! They need a slogan. <_< "I don't need no master to have sex in the pasture." "I was born to do it amongst the corn."

I first heard this on vinyl sometime in the mid-70's. This cut is from the 1973 movie, Jesus Christ Superstar Let me know what you think.

Would it involve setting the paper bag on fire?

There was that one with Willem Dafoe "The Last Temptation of Christ."

Hey! You're sitting over there on the side with your horn straight up in the air and I'm baaad? That goat wants a DNA sample - seems there's a paternity issue about to go to court. She thinks you're about to go on the lamb. And she hasn't been hanging with me at all. She's been hanging with the hens down at Hooters. The irony of it all... Washington will let a man have sex with animals (no rough stuff tho) but refuses to let gays marry. ...

Okay Rhino I just found this photo of your girlfriend: I hear she plans on suing you for palimony. (But doesn't she clean up good! ;))

I think I read somewhere that they liked to choke chickens at Rome City...

Interesting note. ONLY 33 states have a ban against having sex with animals. Hung up on a Horse in Washington So does the animal get the right to power of attorney for his or her loved one should the human pass first?

Alas, poor Fluffy, We cooked, er... spent er... knew (YEA! Yea! That's the ticket - KNEW!) her well. What?! You sold all your bricks?

Should Chimps Be Given Human Rights? Austria wouldn't allow it (BOOOO HISSSS!) So she's appealing to the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg, France. Now, just think of the possibilities. If Chimps get Human Rights, they will need to marry. (They'll need equality under the law. And suppose they fall in love with a human.) What about Fido? He's gonna need rights. And Fluffy the cat can't be left out. Suppose Fido and his owner fall in love and want to marry? Ohhhhhh... dogs and humans... Perhaps Tricky Vic was a prophet after all.

Yep! That was an excerpt from Walden Take it AD...

Sorry Mstar... I forgot that. I do know it is from one of the "Henrys" but I don't remember which one.

I think that wire was secured by conservators to either repair or prevent breakage.

The other amazing thing is that this piece was sculpted from one piece of stone, which is not the norm.

That's Shakespeare.

The realism... art can give people a window into intense emotions - but from a safe distance. In each sculpture, because they are so realistic, you can sense the intense fear of the women. For instance, just how much would you believe she is fighting to get away if you didn't see the sinews in his hands as he grips her and presses his fingers in to hold on? Without that detail and emotion, there would be some historians today who would suggest that the artist was trying to say that the Sabine was a willing participant in the abduction. It's disturbing, yes, but for some being disturbed in that way will move them to be more empathetic to others. After all, it's not like we see that kind of everyday. (THANKFULLY) IMHO - great art is that which moves the viewer emotionally and is flawless in it's execution.

Ron - His arm is going up her back and reaching for her higher shoulder. It's like he's trying to grab her and pull her down. This event is apparently a big theme among artists. Here is the story in Wikipedia Here is another version of the Myth

The artist's eyes are each a different color and for a while he wore a lot of makeup. -

OK here's more lines: I'm standing in the wind But I never wave bye-bye But I try I try -
I got a little confused. The first sculpture is "Rape of the Sebine Woman" by Giambologna and the second is "Rape of the Proserpine" by Bernini. Both sculptures are very similar. I just marveled at the detail in the second photo.

Look at the emotion in these shots. They are two different sculptures but the subject is the same. Notice the spiral movement in this one: Notice how the flesh looks real in this one:
