Oh geez! I mixed it up with another song. Henley...."The Boys of Summer"

All I ever needed to know, I learned in Kindergarten Most of what I really need to know about how to live, and what to do, and how to be, I learned in kindergarten. Wisdom was not at the top of the graduate school mountain, but there in the sand box at nursery school. These are the things I learned. Share everything. Play fair. Don't hit people. Put things back where you found them. Clean up your own mess. Don't take things that aren't yours. Say you are sorry when you hurt somebody. Wash your hands before you eat. Flush. Warm cookies and cold milk are good for you. Live a balanced life. Learn some and think some and draw some and paint and sing and dance and play and work everyday. Take a nap every afternoon. When you go out in the world, watch for traffic, hold hands, and stick together. Be aware of wonder. Remember the little seed in the plastic cup? The roots go down and the plant goes up and nobody really knows how or why. We are like that. And then remember that book about Dick and Jane and the first word you learned, the biggest word of all: LOOK! Everything you need to know is there somewhere. The Golden Rule and love and basic sanitation, ecology, and politics and the sane living. Think of what a better world it would be if we all, the whole world, had cookies and milk about 3 o'clock every afternoon and then lay down with our blankets for a nap. Or we had a basic policy in our nation and other nations to always put things back where we found them and clean up our own messes. And it is still true, no matter how old you are, when you go out in the world, it is best to hold hands and stick together. --- Robert Fulghum And... Everything I Need To Know In Life, I Learned From My Cat (Author unknown at this time...) 1) Life is hard, then you nap. 2) Curiosity never killed anything except maybe a few hours. 3) When in doubt, cop an attitude. 4) Variety is the spice of life: one day ignore people, the next day annoy them. 5) Climb your way to the top--that's why drapes are there. 6) Never sleep alone when you can sleep on someone's face. 7) Find your place in the sun--especially if it happens to be on that nice pile of warm, clean laundry. 8) Make your mark in the world--or at least spray in each corner. 9) When eating out think nothing of sending back your meal twenty or thirty times 10) If you're not receiving enough attention, try knocking over several expensive antique lamps. 11) Always give generously--a small bird or rodent left on the bed tells them, "I care." 12) When you go out into the world, remember: being placed on a pedestal is a right, not a privilege.

On a side note regarding the "Sing Along the Way" books: First there was a blue song book. No copyrights, lots of lyric changes. Somewhere in the early '80's someone decided that copyrights really needed to be gotten (perhaps due to being caught... I don't know and don't really care.) In any case, the brown book came out and we were instructed to throw out the old blue books. The new books had some songs missing because twi could not obtain the copyrights. Apparently there were objections to the lyrics being changed. Of course, some songs were so old that the copyrights had expired. If there was anything else, I wouldn't know. I've since heard most of those songs as they were meant to be. The point about twi stealing songs isn't surprising in the least. Afterall, when you begin a ministry stealing a whole class, why stop there? <_< BTW - who's Jake?

"Summer of '69" by Bryan Adams

Ummmm... he had some prints to frame and asked me to do it. He asked me to give him my discount as an employee. I told him that I couldn't offer any kind of a discount since I didn't own the business. I got the stare that he gave when he was trying to say, "Make it happen." It didn't happen. I had no problem saying NO to the jerk. It's not my "dream." It's my suggestion. I'm not convinced that the call isn't on hold...

I have proof that Bumpy is in France. He's watching all this from his perch next to the gargoyles of Notre Dame:

As I think about all this, I'm still struck with awe that either of the Johns can look with any respect on the memory of der Victoid. John S wrote the freaking paper that turned on the lights and sent the adultery roaches scattering. He must know where that idea started. How anyone can still seek the approval of such a man as vp, is beyond me. JAL is another story. He's an elitist opportunist IMO. He turned his nose up to so many people - both in and out of residence and then when he wants or needs warm bodies that can earn money and fill seats he turns on the "I love you, will the real you please stand for me" bs. I don't know JS - so I can't comment on him so much - only my surprise that he even cares what vp would think of him today. JAL I know. I watched my friends buy his "package." Talk about a box of rotting fruit... I think he needs to see what it's like to live life without a lecturn in front of him.

Pond, the sense of entitlement I referred to is much more insidious. I've been a picture framer for years. The local mini-Mog wanted some framing done and assumed I would give it to them at a deep discount or even free. I didn't even own the business! Why this assumption? Well of course it was assumed I would stick my neck out and do something unethical for the MOG... I did not, BTW. I've got lots of examples... they all revolve around the "Gawd blessed me because I'm oh so special I've got a nametag and a title.... kind of bs." I like it that my only title is "Mom." It's got it's own rewards... though when I'm trying to get rooms clean I wish I could wave some magic Bible-wand and believe it into existence...;)

Right song, but not the artist I was thinking of. I'll give it to you, though. John Lennon wrote the song and performed it. -
This one is for JAL... Last two lines: Cant stop the spirits when they need you This life is more than just a read thru Here are all the lyrics: http://www.lyricsfreak.com/r/red+hot+chili...p_20114720.html

I just can't shake the thought that JAL has a very unhealthy sense of entitlement that I witnessed among other Corps after graduation. I left TWI for a year approximately a year after graduating. It really helped me in a lot of ways. It was great to not have a nametag color announce who and what I was (or was supposed to be.) In the "real world" it didn't make a damn bit of difference what I had studied, or that I had studied. It didn't matter to even ONE person that I didn't get up and head straight to the table to read my Bible first thing after my feet hit the floor. All that mattered was if I worked hard and honestly, did I treat my friends well, and was I basically a good person. But I watched way too many Corps and Rev's take what wasn't their's because they "just believed that Gawd musta wanted them to have it." Afterall, they were the "chosen ones." (P U K E!) I keep seeing JAL as wanting to stay insulated in a WayWorld of his own making. It reminds me of Peter Pan - who never wanted to grow up. Close down Neverland John.

"When the night has come" -
You know... I can call you a lot of things - but if you don't respond to those names they won't stick. Why is it that when someone says the phrase "Wierwille apologist" you come running? It's a title you respond to. If someone insisted on calling me that I certainly would keep on walking. If they looked me dead in they eye and said it I'd give them that look  that kinda means "WTF"? In any case, I'd not jump to that name every time I heard it. BTW- nice attempt at ending your post with a backhanded compliment. I think I saw that technique taught on another thread ... something about ... a letter... I don't recall the reason Bumpy was bumped as ever really being stated. This is how it should be.

You continually deny that you are a "Wierwille apologist" and yet you found offense in a quote that didn't name you specifically. Groucho didn't say, "How long will the Wierwille apologists, WhiteDove et al, continue to live in denial?..." He used a generic term. He named a group of folks. Why did you take up the cause for a group you urgently claim has no relation to you? You could have said to yourself, "Huh... doesn't apply to me. I wonder what's going on on another thread." Even if you suspected you were implied in that statement, you could have declined to answer to a title that you say isn't your's. The statement could have been buried on the thread amidst other comments about the interview and the pending release of the book. *Edited to fix grammar*

Mr. P - I should have corrected my post - but I thought that was done by both WordWolf's post and then the link to the Gordon Sinclair article that TommyZ posted. I also prefer to look at our country from both sides. The editorial was especially interesting to me because it was not done by an American. Anyway... carry on.

Kind of a Reggie influence in this song. "I'm Your's" - Gavin Mraz

What about Schoenheit??

No problem at all Cinder. I figured the "snarkiness" came from concern for a guy that is the same age as many of our own children. Concern for our kids usually extends to the children of others, IMHO. Take care, dooj -

Cinderpelt - did you happen to notice the thread in the Prayer Forum for Sam? I think I can safely say that regardless of any (possible) hard feeling towards CES or questions about JS - Sam's life is quite a separate deal. No one wishes anything less than a swift and complete recovery for him.
