    The WAG of Ike

So let me get this straight... People have lost their homes, either in whole or in part, and this thread has spun into bickering about oil prices? May I suggest that this argument shift to Politics and "Tacks? or just ignore me...
  2. Joss Stone and Melissa Etheridge do Janis proud in this performance: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S5RySl8qqrs
  3. DWBH - here's the first song I heard k.d sing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9qFKN68GSDY And for another cool lady - k. t. tunstall:
  4. I had just dropped the kids off at school and daycare. By the time I got to work both the second tower and the Pentagon had been hit. The T.V. was on (highly unusual.) I was panicky because T.O.D. was on a field trip 50 miles away and no parents had any of the teachers' cell numbers. Later on in the day I called my family in NYC to see if everyone was okay. (They were, thank goodness.) I spent a large part of the day crying. I didn't lose anyone, but that day a great loss was felt just the same. Even now, when I hear or read about the police and firefighters that died while refusing to give up, I tear up.
  5. Hey there Bluzeman - you're right. For some reason I gave the wrong title. I'd say it's your turn - it certainly isn't mine.
  6. "Baba O'Reilly" (Edited to say, "WOW! It's Bluzeman! So good to see you again! Welcome back!")
  7. I'm curious - can you put these two testimonies here side by side so that the "difference in views" are obvious? Afterall, my memory of JL's personal testimony is that there was little (if any) overlap with RD's. I remember JL speaking about entirely different issues. I don't recall any contradictions between the two men. If that is the case then, Yes, both views can be right and credible. (You know, kinda like Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.) Without such a comparison, I'd say the argument of one man being right over the other melts away completely.
  8. Woman spends part of a night in the wrong hotel.
  9. Yeah Geisha, it IRKS. But staying on the original topic of the thread is the most mature way to handle things, IMO.
  10. Just think, Brush - you read all this and you too can be Waybrained... :) My shovel isn't big enough for the load on that site.

  12. I'd say that makes you - YOU!
  13. My SWAG (since I haven't studied most religions) is that most religions are tolerant - on paper, (the Bible, Koran/Quoran, or various other religious authoratative document.) However, these documents are all subject to interpretation and if the people doing the interpreting are intolerant - you will find intolerance. People as a whole like to believe they are right - the more "right", the better. How right they really are will be born out in time. For that reason if none other, the arguments should be silenced. By the time I find out if I'm really right - there will nothing I can do about it. I won't even be around for the "I told you so's." Ooops! How'd I get lost in here? I better head back up to the kitchen.
  14. We can always fling some biscuits and gravy!
  15. Long hot bubble baths work for me. You can even get one of those bath shelves (it spans the tub and keeps a book dry :) )and read a book while you sip some wine during your bath.
  16. Even split between Artist and Skeptic
  17. They rock. I mostly just listen and paint. :) When I'm not cooking that is...
  18. AND... Pat Methany is an UNT alumnus
  19. Two books I highly recommend are: Odd Girl Out and Queen Bees and Wannabes (links are provided) They helped me a lot when my kiddo had to deal with the girl-bully thing.
