Mike - sorry I misunderstood - You had made a statement after addressing me. Therefore I said that I wasn't referring to all the other threads - referring to things that God wouldn't be happy with. I'm going now. -

"So what is the point of all this "conversation?" We keep throwing barbs and information back and forth and insulting and chiding." The first quote is what I said. The second is what you said about my quote. Mike dear - please read only what is written and don't rad into my posts. I said "conversation" not "conversations." I was referring to this thread in particular. I post on each thread individually, and I don't post on one thread about another thread - seems sneaky to me. I'm going to take a long nap now...... -
I think you will get this right away...

Save you Mike?? I'm not sure I can fill those shoes. Now regarding the whole Moses?Weirwille thing: Moses went on to go up against ( almost single handedly - unless you count Aaron) a major government, and the local "god." He led a nation of millions out of captivity. He received the revelation that would define a people and lay groundwork for the Messiah ( after all, you can't fulfill something that doesn't exist.) He dealt with a headstrong people and never once is it reported that he slept around or had women brougth to his tent ( but we know it would have been easy - just look at how quickly Israel turned to idoltry just because Moses was gone a while.) BUT - he had a bad temper - so bad that even Dr said that the first time the he broke the tablets God made Moses replace them. ( As you know God wrote them the first time - but the next time Moses had to be the guy Friday.) A temper so bad that when he struck the rock a second time, he wasn't allowed in the promised land. Now - Dr - he may have taught PFAL - but I have a hard time believing that he fits in the same category as Moses - "the friend of God." If God cut Moses out of the promised land after 2 fits of temper - how do you think He will dealt with MULTIPLE fits of temper, adultery, drunkeness, dishonesty ect, etc, etc, ad nauseum - a la VPW? So what is the point of all this "conversation?" We keep throwing barbs and information back and forth and insulting and chiding. I simply cannot believe that God smiles on this. I'm guilty. I'll admit it. I'm not sure I can continue if this is where this thread is going to stay stuck. -
You know Ron, If they odious aura doesn't subside soon I'd take kitty to a vet soon. My mother in law had a cat that started farting in it's old age. They took him to the vet and expected to get something to ease the aroma. Instead the vet told them that TC (the cat) had cancer in the lower bowel and should be put to sleep. So - try the acidophilus - cuz it really works (I crush a pill and mix it in with some food) - or try what they tell you about at that 1-800 number. But if there is no relief for you or kitty take it to the vet. My book says that cat farting indicates a problem - it maight be that she did eat a bad mouse, or some dog food that is insettling her stomach - it might more serious.

Y'all are STILL bickering!!!?????? Geeeeezus H. Christmas I have looked in from time to time and this sounds like a bunch of hens in a henhouse. -
mark, I tend to think out loud - or in writing - and I just throw things out then think some more. I have thought a lot about the Prodigal son, the forgiving father and the bitter son who remains home. I have found that in my life I have had seasons of being in each of these positions. The prodiagal son didn't return home when the money first ran out, nor when the famine first hit. He returned home once he had hit the lowest point of his life. I can only think that pride was the cause of this - the not wanting to go with hand out, admitting failure. The father - he waits - daily watching the horizon and waiting - because he either hopes or KNOWS that his son will return home. The bitter brother at home - who resents the fact that in spite of him doing all the reight things, he has to watch his little brother get accepted almost instantaneously back into the home he couldn't leave fast enough. No acts of contrition - just a simlpe yet heartfelt "I'm sorry, I was wrong - please forgive me." and this guy's back in like flint. I bet that Israel - the Pharisees especially, felt justlike this when Jesus had the gall to heal heathens. Even more so when the Gentiles were invited into the household. So what have I said? perhaps nothing of consequence. I'm not arguing with you - just thinking. No, the Father didn't drag that son home - but he was prepared for his return and even expecting it. i wonder if god is the same way - really - How do we know when a person really goes to the Father and begs forgiveness? It might be with their last breath - God is ready. Not disagreeing. Perhaps I have committed the Unforgiveable Sin of the FORUMS : being OFF TOPIC

ROFLMAO!!!!!!!!! Ron, Pixie is also a tiny kitty. when she was a kitten she would get tired of her kitten food and eat the adult cat food for the other two I have. OMG! stank to HIGH HEAVEN. We started singing the "Smelly Cat" song to her. Then we heard about giving her acidophilos tablets with her food. I worked! Just make sure you ween kitty off slowly when you are ready to stop - shold take a couple of weeks - or less if the mouse passes. Also, make a tea of fenugreek and give it to your darling - in the water. fenugreek is an anti-flatulant. Happy smelling!

Again, I'm just thinking - IF we are born again with incorruptible seed - then that's what it is - incorruptible. So we can be righteous on the inside but not manifest it on the outside. All sorts of consequences there folks. Remember a lot of people thought that God was just messing with Adam when he didn't die straight forward. - maybe even Adam thought he got away with something - but we all know he didn't. I really think that rewards will be a big deal when the time comes - or else God wold not have said anything about losing them. Not to mention, think about it: You ae standing in front of the Lord Jesus Christ and he rattles off your pluses and your minuses - then all the bad burns up and only the good remains........This is the Lord we're talking about - He heard lyou cuss out your parents and he heard you call His name in the middle of the night. No hiding! Seems to me that no matter what we think people will be getting away with - God is a better judge than we are.

I'm getting off the couch now - but hold my place for me Belle and please save me some of those ribs 'cause I haven't had any yet. I hope this isn't completely off topic..... I once posed this thought to a few people - It occured to me that there are two facets to those things we used to call our "sonship rights" There was the SPIRITUAL reality of God's work in us at the New birth. Then, there is the PRACTICAL reality of how we manifest that gift. ( OK don't jump me here!) I believe that the new Birth is so much bigger than what we know. So "you have been made holy - or are sanctified" but you might not act that way. same with righteusness, redemption, justificaton ( although in the greek these two are very close.) At the new birth we were made righteous. It BEHOOVES us to act righteously. Just as the law made sin apparent - so the walk in grace makes God's grace and His gift apparent - not only to us but to all around us. I have read a book by entitled "This Was Your Life" by Rick Howard and Jamie Lash. In fact I used to attend the same church as Jamie. I'll have to dig it out - because it makes such a strong, verbal and visual statement of the bema and the rewards for living righteously. Anyway, its late and i'm not up to my best game - so I'll do some research and get to everyone tomorrow. Pass those ribs please - are there any napkins left?

Goey - I might have been a different type of person - but I did try to keep on thinking and I would consider other points of view even way back then. - At least I would look into them long enought oread the whole scripture that someone was using to prove something to me and I made sure I looked at both the immediate and the remote context. I wish that ckmkeon would at least try it. Oh and it was a way minister that taught a class on logic that a few of us took in NYC back in early '79. I still fall back on things I learned there. Not that you're wrong - I just have this thing about generalizations and getting put into boxes. boxes are for tasty snacks and presents - not people :B) OTOH I was pretty waybrained as well and fairly stubborn - and opinionated - OK I'll take a small box

Ck, I'll tell you this. I have done a very long and very exhausting word study on the word Agape. the definition that vpw supplied for us was a well-worn and often repeated one that ony worked well in some limited circumstances, but failed miserably in others for instance: God so LOVED the world...Jn 3:16 so you would say- "God so loved the world in the renewed mind in manifestation?????" That is ridiculous. God doesn't renew His mind - it doesn't need renewing - He's GOD. That isn't the only verse - but it is the one that comes to mind first. What about the other thing that vpw said - that we have the things of God but we don't necessarily use them. Wouldn't that statement apply to agape love? isn't it possible to "have" the love of God (agape) but not show it? So then it is still agape but not in manifestation. One thing I always did - and I really felt I was encouraged to do although it might have been in my imagination - was to think and re-think for myself. So if you are starting with someone else's conclusions and then reading the Bible and just plugging in their definition, then you aren't thinking for yourself - you're just rubber stamping what they say. This isn't thought, it's re-gurgitation as Mark's last emoticon so visually stated ( BTW how did you get that -mark?) So, when we here at GS ask you why you believe something we aren't calling you names, we are seeing if you are just repeating what you've heard or really thinking things through. please remember and don't be offended that many of us were researching the Word for at least 10 years by the time we left twi and by the time you were even born. We do know something about which we speak. I really don't get why you come out with guns blazing when you are asked simple questions. Someone asking why you believe something to be true isn't calling you wrong - just asking for your thoughts on the matter. ( Hint, hint - theres' your moment to really show that you know something!) When you come back with insults you tip the scales against you finding any sort of meaningful discussion and actually derail your own thread - again and again. Remember that popular definition of insanity a few years back? Insanity is doing the exact same thing over and over and expecting different results every time. Ask yourself if this isn't what you are doing when you refuse to discuss your thoughts and turn to mockery and name calling.

Tom - it's in the back room - LOL

Thanks! Just needed the clarification. I'll go back to my couch now...

Ya' know.... Jesus Christ himself frequently answered a question with a question. So did he evade the Pharisees or was he doing what God his Father told him to do? Not saying much except that the answering a question with a question in and of itself isn't necessarily a bad thing. IMHO Oh and ckmkeon - according to your position on another thread - you shouldn't be judging anyone that is honestly trying their best to do God's will - Roman Catholic Church and the Pope included. Mother Theresa was quite a woman whether you believe her beliefs were accurate or not. Would you dismiss her just because she was a Roman Catholic nun??
