  1. Word Wolf, I seem to remember, vaguley, that R@lph said that in the Septuagint the word for "mock" was the same as the word for "to know one's wife in teh Biblical way" in the OT. I'm sorry that I'm not more help here. Perhaps someone still has a copy of "Jesus Christ Our Passover." I suspect that if it is anywhere, it is there. I took the class on Beta and later ran it for others in audio if we didn't have more than 7 people. I don't recall any of this subject in PFAL. BTW, when R@lph taught it - he wasn't ranting and raving. He was very calm and reverent - unlike LCM. AND it wasn't the focus of the teaching. Hope this helps...... dooj
  2. I heard that JC was raped - there is a verse that said that the while he was beaten his attackers( the centurions perhaps) "knew" him as in the same way that a man would know his wife. Now I have no proof of this - I heard it from R@lph D^bofs#y. I can't find the scripture reference now..... But I never heard it referred to and anything having to do with Jesus being mocked.

Sadly, I will not be making this trip in August. I look forward to seeing many of you another time tho....... dooj
  4. Hey David, I had some friends from Minnasotey who taught me that!
  5. What about "A little lunch?"
  6. I-I-I-I think that KMC is really ck with a new handle. But that's just my opinion........ I could be wrong. Anyway, I'm not going to waste anymore time arguing with a person who can't argue....Won't some of you join me in stimulating conversation and not in this one?
  7. Besides, I wasn't telling you to stop believing what you believe. I was telling you to learn how to communicate those beliefs more effectively. There is a verse in Timothy that tells us to be ready always to give an answer of the hope that is within us. People eventually stop listening if they can't understand what you are saying.
  8. socks - I hope we won't have to swear our allegiance to you as the Man To Screw Lightbulbs In For Our Day And Time If you write us all letters telling us we have to chose - I'm outta' here!
  9. Ck - I know that you and Mike are becoming well acquainted with each other. While I do not agree with him on many points - he has at least mastered the ability to write and present his arguments in an intellible manner. No matter what you believe - it doesn't matter if you cannot communicate effectively. You cannot. Mike can. Please learn at least that much from him. Now, this is supposed to be friendly advice - not anything more, not anything less. Do with it as you will. There's a saying I heard from one of vpw's students -"Eat the fish and spit out the bones." What that means is......to take the good out of everything you can. I mean no offense - and if you take ofense and fire off one of your remarks, then you will show your true colors and your true character. Mike - help this guy out here - he might listen to you.
  10. Did anyone ever get my puzzle?????
  11. Now - do we have our NEED for a lightbulb parallel to our WANT for that lightbulb..... Is there really a light bulb available? HMMMMMMMMMMMM!
  12. Another deviation on this thread.... From George Carlin Folks see hair down to there And go off on a tear I say, "No fair!" Now can we get back to the puzzle at hand???? bad rhinnie, bad, bad rhinnie!
  13. Ck Simple logic here YOU ARE NOT AN OLD LEADERSHIP GRAD!!!!!!!!!!!!! The statement wasn't even directed to you - It was directed to Mark O Malley. I didnt' call you a name. You aren't Old, You weren't Leadership, at the very most you are a Grad - but NOT all three. The reason I told you to ask Mike is because it is Mike's term and he would be able to inform you if indeed you do fall in that category ( I don't think you do.) Sooooo I didnt' call you a name. Get a clue......
  14. Oddly enough, I did my research paper on Apostles - specifically Jesus Christ as The Apostle and consequently, the primary example - first use if you will - then I followed it up with the 12 apostles and their commission. I was able to show new light being brought to a generation both practically and doctrinally, both old light that was new the the generation at hand and brand new light. The examples used were Jesus Christ, the 12, and Paul. I can expound - but I won't. (If i can dig that paper up I might - but I'm about to take a short vacation...) Suffice it to say that there is more to the Bibilical definition than bringing a class to a generation- and vpw doesn't fit the bill...... If one is going to base the claim that vpw was an apostle (a claim that he himself never made - remember? He was THE TEACHER.) on the PFAL class alone - then that argument wouldn't hold water.
  15. Of course - if things follow the usual route the whole project will be relegated to the Doctrinal Forum where: Sirguessalot - Can question us about whether or not the universe truly needs light bulbs - or are we just substituting light... T-Bone - can tell us every commentary's breakdown of the bulb screwing technique.. Dmiller - can break tradition and bring up the possibility of serving pineapple while said lightbulb gets screwed in. Then there's Roy who will blow us all a holy kiss while we work..... Now I think we're up to 19.....(unless David's been mentioned already)
  16. You have to ask Mike to explain it. I'm just trotting by.....
  17. The problem is that ck isn't an OLG..... Doesn't Proverbs have something to say aobut arguing with a fool.....??
