  1. Is the word "beefcake" in the title?

    Texas

A Kolache is a pastry filled with meat or cheese - I know that some of the best come from West, TX. I believe they are Czech. I keep saying that the Texas refers to the LOCATION - and doesn't have to limit our food choices. It's a Texas BBQ because we are BBQ-ing and WE ARE IN TEXAS. Don't be so literal - Let your right brains roam free and get outside of that Texas box.
  3. My husband knew a woman who had several abortions in her life - left her unable to bear children. I would say that no woman goes around thinking that abortion is a viable, repeatable mans of abortion.
  4. Not that I know what this verse is saying - but I DO know that there are some powerful herbs that will cause a woman to miscarry. I know because when I was pregnant with my first daughter, I was trying to buy a particular herb and in the process of finding out more about it the shop owner said that I shouldn't even touch it. I believed her.
  5. you're up George! All I know is his last name is "Doll" - He came up when I googled that word.
  6. The last pic is a symbol for "yes" but I'm looking for a slang word. The secong pic might be a bit obscure - but i'm looking for his name.

JBarrax - I'd say one or all of the above - except dessert. RmRunner and I are having a grand cheesecake competition - and I'm gonna win. Now if you don't like cheesecake - you might want to bring some dessert. Seriously, Let us know what you want to bring and we'll plan accordingly.
  8. I'm tired........ Can we move on now?
  9. Should I make him get it or is that close enough?

    Poor Ron G.

Ron isn't really a curmudgeon - he just plays one here at Greasespot. PSSSSST! He's really a nice guy - but don't tell anyone - he's got an image to keep up.
  11. Promises! Promises? We don't need their stinking promises! OK I'll try to behave now - NOT!
  12. Thanks Vegan. I just through all that into the mix to get us thinking that maybe even if the case cannot be made that the fetus suffers or is a person, that God is equally concerned with the mother and the father. I have talked to many women that had abortions because they felt it was the most loving thing they could do at the time. Nearly all of them have gone through a time of grieving and pondering what that child my be like "today." I'm not saying that this is an across the board emotion - just a common one. I had a friend that was adopted because her biological mother was raped and put her up for adoption. She's happy that her mother made a different choice than what seemed the most obvious. And BTW - I am not in favor of making abortion illegal. I just think that there is so much to consider. Still trying to find all the right questions.

You mean "migas" those wonderful little make your own tacos with eggs. potatoes. cheese, and salsa? And my point about us being in Texas was that since we are in Texas - well then it can't help but be a texas BBQ. That doesn't mean that we have to serve only Texan and Tex-mex food - does it?
  14. Pond - Abi never said that she had a problem with Christian doctrine - only that she did not adhere to it (I'm assuming such - am I right Abi?) Also, we can debate the big issue of salvation here for hours on end. BUT the thread wasn't about the "abortion" that occurs without Jesus. This thread is about the life that would become a baby - specifically. I'm not sure that anyone is debating your points anymore - Now we would like to move on to other considerations.
  15. Do they also stand to quote VPW? then sit to teach.
  16. I'm going to make one more point here for now. Even in the rare occasions where killing another human is justified, there is something that goes happens soul of the person that does the killing. Self-defense, justifiable homicide, and what police and soldiers do (don't know the legal term for that - but it the possibility of taking a human life is part of the "job" for the latter two) all end up making such a mark on the person who pulls the trigger. Policemen and soldiers have to go through debreifing after afterwards. Certainly the aborting of a fetus/baby would leave a mark on the soul of the mother. Its so easy to get into the rights and wrongs of "killing the unborn" and forget the living. Perhaps this is another question that bears asking.... Is it possible that God is just as concerned with the soul of the mother as with the life of the unborn. I'm not talking about salvation here. I'm referring to the deep emotional wounds that surface later in life after an abortion. No matter what spurs the decision, the pain of abortion comes back to bite the mother in the tushy. Hopefully I have not derailed the thread. I am all for looking into the science behind all this. There was a movie being shown in churches a while back called, "The Scream" It shows a ultra sensative ultrasound of a fetus being aborted. the fetus moves away from the needle several times. When it finally is stuck with the needle is appears to scream in utero. No sound - just visuals. If you have seen this movie I think your thoughts on this subject are valid.
  17. you know - I would never have guessed that was a plate of coleslaw. I had to look at the properties to understand the answer. Then again - I think slaw is nasty - so I try to not think about it at all..... hey want me to go if Hwy doesn't?
