Evan - Maybe I'm dense. Maybe I just have too many X chromosomes, (as in two.) I wasn't responding to YOUR post as much as I was feeling the sense of the thread. I'll just forego posting anymore on this thread and just read.

LG - Just talk - tell us what you want to say - if anything at all. I for one will listen and not comment unless you invite a comment. I can't be there to just be quiet and let you have a peaceful moment with another person in the room, but I can allow you to just BE. I say we let LG be HIM. Let this thread be about HIM and what he wants and needs. If anyone wants to know my thoughts about this - PM me and I'll tell you in private.

MOM! I got 100 on my grammar test. That's wonderful, Dear! It's a great day. They're expecting to have a ceremony celebrating its success. There they go. Their clothes don't fit. When I get my car I'll get its color changed. Just for fun!

CES is in a Mess...

Well said , Mstar. Sometimes the best way to serve God is to get the he11out of His way! Why is it that these men can't simply see that they need a time out? -

CES is in a Mess...

On a side note..... I'm not completely sure that any discussion by the Board of CES/STFI can be expected to be done here. Even though a lot of people would like to see that -to me it doesn't really make sense. It would be similiar to my HUGE Italian family discussing the reason that two sister-in-laws started a family feud - only they discuss it on national TV. Sure, we have a message board and forums in place - but most of us have no dog in this fight. Sure, we want to see a loving resolution to the matter and the complete halt to anyone getting hurt by further abuses of this nature. Many of us have friends in CES/STFI, that is a basis for concern that is natural and loving. I tend to think that a lot of us JUST CARE about what is going on and are praying for the situation. Once again - remember that no matter what you read, no matter what you hear, no matter what you think you know about the situation - there is more to the story. It takes time and a lot of digging to totally uncover a matter when so many people have been involved for so long. It takes time to "uncoil the spin" so to speak. It might take a machete to cut through the BS. This process will take longer than a week and it will see many changes. I'm sure of it - because people are people. In the end, what must be looked after is not the organization - but the people. Its easy to point and laugh and say, "I told you so!" Its a different matter to roll up one's sleeves and take part of the triage and healing. I'd much rather spend my time helping the wounded than examining how they got that way. I'll just go back to my corner now........ -
Once again - so many emotions and so few words. I will certainly pray for you and your family. I'd say to do whatever it is that brings you peace. I don't know you- but I do know a lot of folks here that have extended a loving hand to you - you must be a real gem of a person.

CES is in a Mess...

There is a lot more going on than meets the eye. Personally, I'm in the mode of watching, praying and waiting. Remember how vulnerable you felt when you realized that TWi wasn't what you thought it was. For me there was a real mixture of pain, disbelief, denial, loss. I'm sure that there are folks that are reading here that are going through this again - some of them are maybe saying, "NOT this again!" I'd say that in our quest to know what is happening we should temper our words with compassion and wisdom. Remember that in some ways we really normally wouldn't know any of this at all - it's kinda like peeking in on someone through a keyhole just because we can. -

Heck turn up any music and I'll dance! -

Ummmmmm Groucho - don't you remember? Cockaroaches SCATTER when he lights are turned on........... I'll be shocked and awed if these folks respond to us - they feel no obligation to us here at GSC. In the meantime, welcome all you new folks! We made about 50 pots of coffee in antipation of your arrival. Pies and desserts are on the house for today. We'll all scoot over and let you talk - or not. "Just please keep your feet off the TABLE." There -I used my word for the day...... -

So much pain on display for all to see..... So much sin.... Wouldn't it have been nice if we really had learned to be as wise as serpents and harmless as doves? Then not only would people not be DOING this to each other, they would not be finding themselves cornered. For all the Bible taught, you'd think there would be more wisdom....Just goes to show you that knowlege isn't enough. -

We stay up every year and track Santa on our computer. We even tell the girls when its time to got to bed according to his position in the sky.
-
OK - the show was "Chef" and it was hilarious!
-
Ok - where did the word "scar" come from? We read "Twas the Night before Christmas," and "Polar Express" and we sing Chrismas songs and drink hot cocoa as we decorate the Christmas tree with ornaments that I add to every year. (I buy one ornament for each child every year so that when they someday have their own tree I can hand them a box of memories that are filled with love.) The most precious ornaments being those made of tape and construction paper by tiny fingers. I try to mark every major event with an ornament - I only need a running shoe ornament to make it all complete - LOL. I have always been more into the family memories and family traditions. And yes, Christmas morning the lights on the tree go on way, way before anyone is up and the presents seem to magically appear. Its always like the living room has expanded by ten feet in every direction. BTW - I told my girls that Santa was real - I just didn't let them think that he was the giver of all good things. AND - they knew that each child believed something a little different about Santa. An aside - one year we had NO money and I mean NONE. I had to use money that was given to me for a present to buy one gift for each child. That year the original Dooj (then six years old, mind you) wanted to buy gifts for a "Santa's Little Angel" - a program in which a family picks a child to give gifts to. We picked a little girl the same age as the Dooj was and went shopping for a coat, shoes, a holiday dress, a doll, and some candy. (A list was provided and we had to fill it.) She never asked WHY Santa didn't take care of this little girl we came to know as "Angela." That year I spent more on that one child than I did on each of my own - because that was what the original Dooj wanted. When I grow up I want to be just like her..... And the Tooth Fairy STILL makes visits - then gives me the teeth - LOL!

I'll give one more hint then I'll just repost... This was popular in the mid to late nineties on PBS here in the states. It started on BBC - I'm almost positive that the main location was a restaurant and the banter on this show was of monumental proportion. Oh and Tom - or whoever - instead of the sound of the second clue - just say the the first sound with and name the second - and say them together real fast......

I had a hard time with the Santa story because we live in a wealthy area of town - but we ourselves are not wealthy. So, if my kid believed in Santa and thought that this guy prefered her friends over her - well....I just couldn't do it. Instead I taught about the "Spirit of Santa Claus." I told the story of Saint Nick and said, "Whenever you give without any thought about what you are getting in return - you carry out that spirit of giving and THAT is the spirit of Santa Claus and you keep it alive." That was enough for her. I could still talk of Santa and not be lying.
