  1. No matter what, nothing will be resolved this week, month or year. It has been over 20 years and things are still shaking from the tree of TWI. WAKE UP! LEARN FROM THE PAST! There is no magic class, no magic prophecy, no magic wave of a Bible verse that will fix lives. Classes don't change lives, leaders don't change lives, BOT"s don't change lives. Come on people! THIS ISN'T ROCKET SCIENCE!

  9. cman - I do my best to live my life as honestly as I can. I am quick to acknowlege my mistakes and ask for forgiveness. I try not to hurt anyone purposely. If and when I do hurt someone I admit it and make amends. I work hard to keep my character intact. Remembering that you can err keeps you humble - hence no self righteousness. Asking for forgiveness helps keep self condemnation at bay. From what I remember - the balance lies in how you deal with your head and your heart when you make a mistake that counts.
  10. You nailed it waterbuffalo! The thing with TWI was that no matter what you THOUGHT you knew, you didn't have the inside scoop. That's how the control is maintained. If you constantly need to be brought into a "more perfect knowlege" then you are forever and infant. Sheeeeeeeesh! And we bought that load of cra.............
  11. I've had a slow cooker in the past. I gave it away to a young newlywed because I found that I didn't like the size of the cooker. I am in the habit of making at least twice as much my family eats when a meal tastes better as a leftover - chili, soup, and such. I also got tired of having to handle raw meat in the morning, so close to my first cup of coffee. However, with my girls' afterschool schedule gets busier and busier, I'm ready to make the sacrifice and get a large slow cooker. I'm thinking that if I do most of the prep work the night before, then I can just put it all in the cooker in the morning. Anyone got any suggestions? Have you had any sucess? Any hints as to what will make it a better experience this time around?
  12. I've had a pressure cooker and I gave it away. I never really liked how food always seemed to come out overcooked. I'm considering trying a slow cooker again....but then I remember that entails handling meat in the morning.....
  13. That's why you make the whole recipe, Shell. Make a lot so that you can have the leftovers for sandwiches.
