Even worst than that Groucho! Wierwille didn't care if any of us ever confronted him. Even if we did he could defame us as being possessed or somehow talk us into doing what is "right for God's people." That ploy had worked so well to cover his arse in other areas of his life. Whatever he was researching it had nothing to do with God. Has anyone ever noticed that the main editors were family members and close friends?????

I'm going to back up a bit.. Does TWI NEED to be good??? Well, that depends on the person you're talking to at the time. For some folks, right after they've left after ten plus years of service....well maybe for them there is a deep need that TWI was good so that they can feel like they didn't waste their time. Also, if the person in question is very smart and finds themselves wondering how they got so tricked for so long. Or if the person just has a need to be right. Afterall, if TWI was bad and they stuck with it - then they must be wrong, or stupid - so TWI must have been good. Then there's the opposite question: Does TWI NEED to be bad? Again, there are different reasons for choosing this; This choice makes all the other wrong choices easier to live with. (If it's bad then it wasn't my fault.) The person has an easier time saying that they walked away from whatever ties they had to TWI if they can say that it was all bad all the time. I think that the main thing to see here is that TWI doesn't "NEED" to be bad or good. It is what it is and was what it was. I also believe that a healthy way to view those years involves putting the facts together honestly as well as forgetting some things. Forget - not in the sense of glossing over - but in the sense of not letting those things have a place in your life to the extent that TWI is still a part of your life. It is possible to have left TWI and still have never left at all. The doctrine may be different but it is also possible to be stuck in many of the same thought processes and be unaware of it. I'll have to clarify later...

Couldn't he just be a bacteria living in a colon? Now that would be a good reason to go on the cleanse!

It's always smarter to obviate than it is to explain something after you've been caught. The myth was certainly bigger if VPW could claim that he did't plagerize. Besides, if he had spoken up up front then he couldn't have claimed that God taught him. Giving credit where credit is due is honest but it opens the door for you to lose some followers to those other men who wrote their books and taught their own classes. I know Leonard was a contemporary of VP - not sure if Bullinger was.

While I was writing my research paper - required to graduate the Corps - I was fully aware that my research could be used without my consent. See, in many ways, VPW saw that everything we did or knew was at his command whim. BTW - By the time I was graduating the 11th Corps we were required to strictly cite our sources. Funny how we had to do it - and VPW demanded it - but he was immune....

How much weight do you think all that research gave Ole Doc Vic when he needed it? I'd say a ton. If he wasn't intellectually honest then it speaks to his character (ir the lack thereof.) I know much more than I am at liberty to say.

BTW - The album One Trick Pony by Paul Simon has some excellent blues- especially the song, "Stranded in a Limo" Anyone else out there familiar with it?

Would you agree that there is a huge difference between responding to a person's play by play banter with name calling and working through a painful situation? And even more difference in trying to piece a puzzle together.... Fact gathering is a healthy way to work something out. Ignoring or fabricating things is dishonest. Ask any scientist - you have to have ALL (or at least as much as you can possible gather) the data in order to draw a conclusion.

I never said that you had to be the bigger person.....Notice that Rascal has said nothing since her last comment - perhaps she beat you to it..... All you can do it take care of your actions - as long as you live solely in response to another they have the control. Still not pointing fingers......just stating my views.

Doesn't it have to stop somewhere?

And this is a mature response?

Look at her fingers fly here! Diana is to piano what Stevie was to guitar...

I always tell my kids to do what's right no matter if everyone around them is doing the wrong thing. Seems to me that here is the perfect opportunity..... I'm not pointing fingers here - BTW
