Java Jane - thanks for posting. I can't imagine that this was easy to live or post.

I have a feeling that after drinking Purple Jesus I'd have to worship the Porcelain god......

I was with Larry in Houston as well. He was a good guy back then. I don't know much about him now. The way I see it - a person can change for the bad or the good. I can't see how anyone could survive in the conditions of TWI during the fog years without becoming hardened. Hopefully, if that is the case, he is in the process of changing in many ways. Personally I wouldn't get involved with a ministry run by a person going through this process of change. It took Paul fourteen years to get over his thought patterns. I think an argument can be made for waiting at least three years before starting a ministry once you've been kicked out (in effect.)

Oh geez! If he's like this now imagine what he's gonna' be like after a week on the rocks..... Hide your sheep!

Yee Haw Pipes! Yes we're gonna party 'til we're purple! Time to start figuring the menu...... Who wants to be in charge of music? We need a checklist. I don't think I can wait til the fall - but I may have to.

I have done all sorts of things to awaken my prayer life: I've cried and laughed, talked, yelled. Like Chas and Groucho suggested. I have also been known to just write out a long journal entry and then read it out loud. I know this sounds stilted - but when I write I tend to say things that I normally wouldn't say out loud - both good and bad...... One time I ended up on my knees after one of these prayers. I'm not saying that this is a must - but when I'm most in despair it seems that making myself completely submissive and vulnerable gets my head right. There is no recipe - the main thing is to engage your heart and your soul. IMHO

Ok - Now for something upbeat- This was one of the best bands I ever saw in concert..Doobie Brothers - Listen to the Music ( also the first contact high I ever had )

I plan on aging - but not getting old. Age is biology - "old" is attitude.
-
Thanks Acts2 - but that was a song that a friend requested so I can't take credit. Like I said, I have some good taste in music - but I have better taste in friends.

Ten and fifteen Jonny - and Mama is a bear!

I guess what I'm reading is that sometimes "I"m sorry," are the only words you have - but they never seem to be enough. When I think about some of the things I've done that have ended in hurt - no matter what my intent or reason or weakness - I feel pain for the hurt that I have caused. Those are the times I just take responsiblity for the wrong I've done and ask for forgiveness. I'm not sure if that is what you meant, Roy - but that is what I feel.

I'm going to sound unreasonable - but here goes...... Dot dear, the discussion has shifted from helping you find a place to move, to arguing about other factors. I believe you asked for ideas...I for one am excited to hear about your "Top Ten" list and the process of how you narrow it down to your dream city. I'll be even more excited to hear about your move and your new home. All this other stuff is just bickering. Yes, everyone has the right to state an opinion, but you got the information you were seeking. I wish you well in your search for a new home. I hope you get to visit the cities on your list and get a real perspective on life in that town and community. I'm looking forward to your travels. I imagine you keeping a journal of all the great things you see and do. Hasn't this thread served its purpose? Kisses and good luck to you!
