Rascal, I'm hoping that is just one of those myths that have become legend. If I thought it were true I'd have a hard time joking about it. I'm of the opinion that unless someone has real information and not just rumor and innuendo, that though this story might be true - for now it is just a story. Heck, I can't figure out how much of Jonny's bull riding story is fact and how much is fiction and he's right here. How in the world are we to ascertain what happened to a poodle over 25(?) years ago. We had to put our dalmation that my daughter grew up with to sleep. Even though I knew it was the best thing to do I grieved for weeks. I can only imagine the pain Mrs W felt in losing her pet. While I can see how VPW could have been cold-hearted enough to do this, I have no real hard evidence. I can speculate on his motivations and schemes - but we already have plenty of fodder for that in many other threads. VPW's life story had an endless source of documented evil acts. So, I guess I'm saying that in the midst of all this frolicking about Poodles on the Bar-bee and such, I agree with you, Rascal. If I knew this story were true I couldn't be part of the merriment.

Wasn't Cocoa last sighted with Elvis at the 7-11 on Park and Main?

What's so "Fine" About Arts with no "Create"-ivity

If only someone remembered this in CES.....There would have been no spiders coming out of noses. on the other hand - perhaps in the race to avoid "all things Weirwille" they ran too far in the other direction. I too heard about the "undone business of the day," but I never thought any more about it. I figured that it was the mind setting itself back to neutral and working out circumstances. -
Oh - I didn't get it! I was messing around.....

Having known more than one mail carrier in my life I can say there is a reason for the term "going postal." Every year each station is given an efficiency goal to match or beat. If they beat it the new and better record becomes the goal for the next year. This seems rather easy - but for the longest time the efficiency was increased without any consideration for the increase in volume of mail. Now -this was how it was explained to me by a postal worker years ago. If anyone has any new information, I welcome it.

I just looked up another recipe and they suggest 80 proof (I'd use 100 proof myself) vodka - the cheaper the better. (The reason for the Everclear is that is has no sugars in it.( But consider that in college you most likely drank a lot more of it than you will in the limoncello. MAKE SURE YOU DON'T LEAVE ANY OF THE WHITE PITH ON THE ZEST OR YOUR LIMONCELLO WILL BE BITTER! Here's the link for a bigger batch - but it has photos: Limoncello - again!

Ditto for you and Pipes!

I have a recipe here in the house - but the directions are weird .... I found a nearly identical recipe: Limoncello 1 liter of Everclear alcohol 10 medium to large lemons 1 1/2 liters of water (6 1/3 cups) 3 lbs of sugar (6 1/2 cups) Wash the lemons with a vegetable brush and hot water to remove any reside of pesticides or wax; pat the lemons dry. Using a potato peeler, take all the lemon rinds off of the lemons so there is no white pith on the peel. Place the rind-peelings in a large container with the Everclear alcohol. Cover the container and let it sit for seven days. On the eight day, strain the the peels from alcohol; discard peels. In a large saucepan, make a simple syrup by combining the water and sugar; let it simmer "fast" for 15 minutes. Let simple syrup cool to room temperature. Add to alcohol. You are now finished and can drink it right away. - But it really should be served very, very cold! NOTE: This same recipe works for arancello also. Use 10 large oranges. Makes about 2 1/2 liters.
