  1. OMG! If this doesn't remind you of how bad Christmas was when we were in, nothing will:
  2. I bet this guy has the title of "Rev" in front of his name....
  3. But the two drink limit......LOL

Ahhh yes! Second only to "working the room."
  5. Sarah Hickman - "Equal Scary People" Sarah's a local girl - I think she grew up not too far from where I live in North Texas "Joy"
  6. The Fray - "Over My Head" "How to Save a Life"
  7. Greg Brown - "Better Days"

We're thinking about the same time of year as last year. No firm date has been set yet - but most likely the first weekend in November. DON"T make reservations yet! Ex10 has kids in college and one in high school and we both have to look at kids' schedules first. Still kinda wanting feedback...

The phrase, "working the Word" has become distasteful to me. I mean, if you "work the system" or "work a person", that's not necessarily a good thing. It speaks of manipulation.
  10. Rod Stewart and Amy Belle- "I Don't Wanna Talk About It"

Location is still being considered. Ex10 has said she would do it again, but that doesn't mean she has to do it.
  12. I think it was the phrase the gave a too many folks carte blanche to gossip, interfere, and basically fu * k with anyone's life that said persons didn't like.
  13. "Get thee behind me, Satan!" Sorry - just had to add that here
  14. The Wallflowers (I think the lead singer is Bob Dylan's son.)"One Headlight" "6th Avenue Heartache": "Sleepwalker" (Bob's son is Jakob Dylan - and yes, I found out I was right.)
  15. Did you really say that??
  16. Good for you, Notta! My experience is that children with two parents cuss as frequently as those from single parent homes. And in all probability, little Kassie won't be saying, "Kick his ask," again.
  17. PB - That was an early performance by the Beatles - but it wasn't the first. I saw their first appearance on Ed Sullivan, and I know they sang "I Wanna' Hold YOur Hand." When they said, "I wanna' hold your hand....wooooo!" the crowd of swooning women went wild!
  18. Joy to the world! (all the boys and girls) and Joy to the fishies in the deep blue sea.
  19. I flinched the whole time I watched that first video. I couldn't bring myself to watch the second video. Yea, yea, yea I've heard all the "righteous anger" arguments. I remember that was the excuse for going off on someone back in TWI. It just doesn't fly. He didn't accomplish much more that further polarizing his audience. It appeared to me that he was angry with those that were writing him and telling him he was off in the area of asking for money. So he went off and raged. All he did was MAYBE scare his present followers into subjection. His "enemies" just dug in deeper. - (I know I would have.) But, those poor scared "faithful ones" ...they saw a man go off on some "sinner" and they determined that they weren't ever gonna tick the MOG off like that. They applauded him in their minds for being such a strong MOG. They cast hateful thoughts in the direction of those who were getting dressed down. All he did was continue to breed a sense of Pharisee-ism. - "(Lord, I'm thank you that I'm not as bad off as that guy!") It's sad really. Very, very sad.
  20. .....if you won't put money in the Salvation Army bucket because you think it's "poor stewardship." .....if you won't give money to a street person because you think it's "poor stewardship." .....if you won't buy magazines to help a high shool kid make some money in the summer because you think it's "poor stewardship." .....if you think the one form of "good stewardship" is giving 10% no,15% no, 20%.
  21. When I was in high school, I met a couple that had a Siamese cat. They were prone to share their doobies with the cat by blowing the smoke in her face. She must've liked it because she would lay her ears back in a relaxed manner and close her eyes and.....INHALE. They also had that sound proofing tile in the ceiling like you see in offices. That cat would climb the curtains and walk on the ceiling.....
  22. I have a good recipe for grilling London broil and serving it one night, then serving the leftovers cold over a salad. I'll get you some recipes tomorrow - gotta go rummage through my magaizines....;)
  23. They get mushy. YOu need to put them on the grill right before you want to eat and only keep them on the grill for a minute or two. The sugars in the tomatoes carmelize a bit from the heat - that's why they're so yummy.
