What's even stranger is that in the original class VPW made a BIG FRIGGIN' DEAL that it didn't matter where the flowers went on an altar - or even if there were flowers.

Why does this particular ministry need to be preserved? I mean, if it were truly a ministry, then we wouldn't be seeing the problems we're seeing in the magnitude we're seeing it. God is still God, He will take care of each and every one of His children in the way each of them needs to be cared for. The ministry - any ministry - cannot become yet another idol. Perhaps it ceased being a ministry a long time ago and outlived its usefullness. The whole "nose-spider" thing should be a major reminder to everyone that no matter how sincere a group's beginnings are and no matter how great the "package" seems to be, we ALL still need to be on guard. Or else these "great Gifts to the Church" become little more than Trojan horses. Your point about prayer is valid.

Larry, I didn't busy myself with the everyday things like finding marijuana in a backyard. I was in Manhattan and we just had a great time loving each other. BUT - I was gone before Home Coordinators (formerly "Twig Coordinators", formerly "twig leaders") were required to look at W2 forms and paycheck stubs to determine if folks were being honest with their tithe. (Funny how that got legalized. It went from "free will giving" to mandantory fleecing.) Basically, I never had a problem with folks living life and figuring out the ins and outs of keeping God and Jesus Christ at the center of it all. I always had a problem with leaders sticking their nose where it didn't belong, while not practicing what they preached.

Ok - so you got in about 1972. You stayed after POP was introduced for about another eight years. I'm hard pressed to believe that there weren't a lot of things you had to overlook.

Larry - I asked you three things 1. Why did you leave? All I asked for was a simple statement . The letter you quoted said little. I know it makes total sense to you because you know what transpired to precipitate the letter in the first place. 2. How long were you in TWI? 3. What was the final straw for you? (Admittedly, questions 1 and 3 can be answered with one statement.) I realize you don't have to answer. I don't believe these questions are inappropriate for this thread.

Sorry Hon. ;) I remember some BS teaching that there is debbil spurt named Jesus. I forgot the logic - but perhaps it had something to do with a verse in James. So Larry, please tell me why you left TWI? How long were you in and what was the final straw for you?

Regarding God talking to you first: There was always that "if you are listening." The logic that God would speak to you first implied you were listening (were in fellowship, had given you're 15%, etc.) Now, if someone came up to you and said that God told them to tell you, and you KNEW that God had not spoken to you and you spoke up - well they had the perfect comeback, "YOU DIDN'T HEAR HIM!" I wasn't necessarily referring to myself in my last post. I wasn't around when folks were told to sell their homes - I left when I was told to declare my allegiance to LCM. Why did you leave? When did you leave? I'm curious.

I remember being taught that God would speak to me first. I also had to tell a lot of folks to back off when they told me what "God was telling them I should do." You forgot to mention the all important exception to that rule: IF YOU'RE NOT LISTENING OR YOU REFUSE TO OBEY, then God will tell someone else to tell you. This was the line that gave many a MOG wanna-be license to tell you what to do. So.....Mr. Rev Mucketymuck comes to you and tells you to give him your car so that you can open the floodgates of heaven once again and receive that healing you've been praying for. God hasn't told you to do this and you tell Rev. Muck this. He says, "Oh course, you can't hear Him. You've been out of fellowship for so long, I'm surprised you're still alive." There was aconstant battle between what was said and what was practiced. Oh and as I recall, VPW said when Jesus Christ comes back they won't be calling him a "Jesus Chirst so-and-so" When he comes back he's coming back as King of King and Lord of Lord's and Lord God Almighty. And he's gonna knock some earballs together."

Out There - you have got to ask questions that pertain to the 11th corps. If you ask about the 22nd or some such nonsense - we (or at least I) have no answers. Most of us 11th were smart enough to leave before the manure hit the spreader...

Larry, I'd like for you to post something that really says what you believe. I see a lot of posts that confuse issues and muddy the waters. I think that I see that you believed that VPW had a lot of truth in what he stated - but was led astray. Am I right? If not, will you please make a concise statement that doesn't skirt the real questions. In the case of this particular post (mine) I'd like to see you really post a belief than post a snide quip on some side issue. Can you do that? Will you do that? This will be the deciding factor...

:eusa_clap: AND...... if you realize that, "No," is still an answer to prayer - but you still feel no condemnation.

OK I just can't stand to not brag. Today both my girls were in Sleeping Beauty and they did a wonderful job! Unfortunately I didn't get great photos, but I did get some. Here's the link: Sleeping Beauty I even got to make one of the cosutmes....

Good point, Groucho! If God lives everywhere and all around us, and in our hearts; then Jesus Christ is there.

Ya, we women respond to the word, "slow." ;)

Then there's the weird logic that Eve would have encouraged Adam to fondle himself instead of HER.... And HCW - NO ONE has to be coerced to "do a little laundry."
