It could work - After being "It" the string would need to be pulled off. I think that if you got two different colors of string you could almost make it like laser tag
-
Yea - I tried to avoid the tendency to "dig in." I even ignored it for a long time. I'll leave it alone for a while and see if it gets any better. (BTW - she can read this ;))

You must be a man. I see ......wait.....Oh I'm sorry, I was mistaken.;) You do realize that while John has dropped the issue his sweet, darling Jean has not....don't you?
-
John posted that he was willing to drop it. I acknowleged that.

If you have a big back yard get a bunch of cans of Silly String and let them have at it! Only rules are that they can only get string on each other - not on the house or any of the patio furniture.

Jean, My question to you is: Why is this such an issue with you? Would it change your interaction with her? John effectively posted that he thought that you (both of you) and Rascal would always disagree: I thought that was an honest statement. There is never any harm done when two folks agree to disagree. However, this leads me to think (and I can be wrong here) that better communication isn't the real issue (with you, Jean.) If you and John and Rascal were always in the same - let's say PTA - I doubt you would follow her around at meetings and listen to her every word just to point out her errors. You probably wouldn't choose to be in the same areas of the room if you could help it. Most likely, you would do what is normal and mature: you would live your life and interact with those people who share your ideals and interests. I honestly do not see this being a good thing for you to pursue. Rascal has asked for it to stop. As far as I've seen she has not posted since then. You talk a lot about how bad it is to keep picking at a scab - then why do it yourself? Finally, Rascal's communication skills are not in your control. Your ability to comprehend is in your control. If you truly do not understand something she posts, then why not ask for a simple clarification? ("I'm not sure I get what your saying here....do you really mean to say....? - You're smart. You get the picture.;))

Hmmmmm Maybe, just maybe the reason there is an x-Way site is because we still have so far to go, collectively. TWI instilled in us a strong sense of "gotta be right," along with "it's us against them." While this can be a good quality, it can also get out of hand and can really turn into micromanaging someone else's life real quickly. In real life, some of us would just choose to not be around some of the very same folks that irk us here in cyber space. I know that none of us ever want to be silenced again against our will. BUT - sometimes to remain silent is strength and takes more character than coming back with the quick quip. We've lived with legalism. We ALL know that it sux. I'm fairly certain that in our everyday lives we choose to be tolerant of the people we interact with. May I suggest that we do the same here. Coffee and danish are on me....I've even got the cappucino machine fired up for you sleepy heads.

I think you can post freely here. BUT be aware that many folks were hurt by Chr*s Ge*r and will give you some flack. I'd pick your battles carefully and be mindful of the difference between what you saw in him and what others saw and experienced. While it may be true that he changed and grew, for some, if not all of the folks he hurt, imagining a real change in the man is difficult at best.

Thanks WW - I think it will be interesting to see what happens with this new test. She REALLY liked the other one!

In the words of Kermit T Frog: "It's not easy being green...." I still think you're pretty cool George - (Besides, you can kick my butt in Pictionary!)

Double post.....

I came out highest in spacial, social, and self. I gave the test to my ten year old (she insisted) and she came out high in musical, language, and self.

A lot of times you can pay for the excursions while you are on the ship. What you do will be determined by how long the ship is in port. We went snorkeling in the Grand Caymans. (Which I realize you will not be visiting.) I'd recommend snorkeling to anyone - that is unless you can go scuba diving.

WashingtonWeather, Years ago I found a book on the web entitled, "Dyslexia - The Gift"" The reason I found this book was because I teach "Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain" and I had a student that was dyslexic. At the time I knew very little about dyslexia, so I wanted to make sure that I wasn't "harming" that student in any way through my lessons. What I read there was that dyslexia is a result of right-brain dominance. I won't go into the details here and now. Suufice it to say that I was relieved. More importantly, there was a list of dyslexic people in history - Albert Einstein comes to mind immediately. It's a shame that this is seen as a learning disablity and that poor spelling is seen as ignorance. Some of the most brilliant minds in history were not "intelligent" at first glance. I'll not derail this thread any further. I most likely will start another. Edited to add the Link and confirm that the title of the book is correct

I hear you Chas. I used to watch Thomas the Train with my daughter and wonder if the narrator was going to break into the "Seven Words You Can't Say On Television" routine.

You know you're in a Redneck Church if they have to get the church bus transmission out of the baptismal once a month.
