8. When you wear all brown for a living, you don't want to be known as a "Greasespotter."
-
Only if they can hitch here in 36 hours or less! ;)

Yes! There will be a BBQ this year For Texans and other Greasespotters, so dear. Come by boat, car or plane NO! It's not insane. We even have some really good beer!

I think that folks are just learning that they do have the right to say, "No."

Growing a backbone! I know how that feels! I'm fairly feisty by nature - but I somehow learned to supress that and be whatever was expected of me. I was a chameleon in many ways.... No -- I didn't blend into the woodwork, but I did learn how to give what was expected. I feel like this goes hand in hand with not being a victim. I learned who I am and what I really want in life. I figured out that from here on out - no one is to blame but ME. I think of it the same way I think about a painting. I don't let something leave my easel until I know its the best I can do at that moment in time, because it's MY NAME that gets signed to the bottom. In my life -- not only is it my life, but GOD'S NAME also is written on it - at least would like to be a masterpiece he'd be proud to sign. If I blame someone else then I hand over the controls. I refuse to be a victim. I refust to be spineless.

My cats have always sensed when anyone in the family is sick. I'm also fairly certain I remember reading that cats were able to "predict" earthquakes. This might be true of other animals as well, but I only remember reading about cats.

That's religion for you...

I think they were doing the Hokey Pokey and someone dubbed in different music.

...He started hearing VPW talking to him through the screen at night. ...He heard about *viruses* and said, "No thanks! It took me forever to get rid of that last STD!" ...He was overheard saying, "Oh! It's a lapTOP!? I figured that was too much money to spend on a dance." ...He's believing for a computer - but his needs and wants aren't parallel.

5. Those *new-fangled* contraptions scare him.

No green cards and no face meltings at the end of the day! - Seems like a *win-win* combination! May God bless the Loren's of the world! (and the dmiller's as well...;))

Jonny - I SAID that I was glad you were still referring to bong water. Yea - there's more than one way to get one's THC. You don't have to inhale to partake.
-
We'd love to have our "Fiddler Man." Please join us, however you can. Plane, train or bus (Carpet ride - if you must.) ;) Maybe even an old "Hippie Van." ;)

I'm glad you're still talking about bong water! ;)

You forgot the option that says: "Squirrels are the best toys for cats or dogs -and they're FREE!"

Happy Birthday to someone who is always TOPS in my eyes.

Hammeroni remembered this phrase in another thread: "Preparation is the highest form of believing"? Okay, sooooo... Where was the believing for all vpw's "kids" when TWI didn't prepare. I said that because he used to call us "his kids." Usually when problems arise, things get reevaluated. Food for thought....

This speaks to how I feel. Also, I see how it can be easy to take the negatives and make them one's identity. The temptation is to use the negative experiences and let them define who you are and then wrap yourself in them like an old familiar blanket. Sometimes the pain is so intense and so familiar that it seems almost better to hold on to that pain because at least you know what that feels like. Maybe I'm wrong, but I hope that the constant shouting from the rooftops of TWI's evils help even one person to see that the negatives they endured under a heavy-handed, greed-driven ministry will help them to finally throw that old blanket out.

And LEAD was required for the Corps.....

Kathy, I see your point. I know that many good experiences were had by many people in TWI. I also know that for many people, those many good times were sullied by one or two bad experiences. (I may be wrong but, I'm guessing that getting raped outdid any good that a woman may have had up to then, and for some women made it harder to see good after that experience. There's a reason why we left TWI. The unraveling of that noose is not easy to do when you have so many people with such a wide range of experiences. I hope I've made myself a bit more clear.
