*Dooj tries to remember her days in Greenwich Village* I think that anything worn on the left meant that one was "the man" in the relationship and .... I may have that backwards. There may be someone that has more recent data. ;)

I know...but I see this as short-sightedness.

I don't have the proper degree for that job description.

No problem ;) I guess I'm stating the obvious. "No" is an answer just as much as "yes" or "maybe" or " later." In TWI only saw the "Yes" answers as being true answers. Hence, only "yes" answers were "evidence" of believing. In many ways were like spoiled brats. If we didn't get our way - we whined. Not to mention how we were treated by others. That example of the father not giving a stone for bread...that was completely overlooked when it came to any subject other than holy spirit. I wonder how many times we were asking for stones that just looked like bread. The line in "The Lord's Prayer" that states, "Thy will be done," is something we had a hard time with - it seems. We didn't seem to like to hand over the controls to God. Makes me wonder just how loving we really thought He was... I tried to teach this while "in" but no one liked it and I just got ignored. We many times get answers to prayer - we just aren't always happy with the answer. Any parent knows that kids don't always want what's best for them. ( I NEED a car. BUT I WANT a Ferrari! :) Forget about the fact that I can't afford the upkeep, expenses, and the fines I'll incur driving that bad boy. ) We were taught to look at things spiritually, yet when it came right down to it folks were judged by five-senses criteria. Those words were mine. I wasn't accusing you of taking that position. Give me some more time to gather my thoughts and I'll try to explain this one a bit better.

...you Christians...? Speaking for me and "my people" please don't lump us all together. ;) I finally decided that all prayer gets answered - but sometimes the answer is, "No." I gave up long ago trying to figure out a formula that somehow allowed me to use God as my marionette. If I can pull the strings and yank His chain - then he's not much of a "god." That's it...nothing more to say... for now... ;)

Church of the Fallen Arches...

This soooo reminds me of a plan for a franchise. McTwigs - hold the logic, and just let us have it our way.." "Salvation to go." "I'll have one holy spirit please, hold the capitals..." For a while some were even able to "have it their way..."

I'm offended! ;) You didn't mention me... Seriously, I think you covered all the bases. Do you remember the name of that movie with Michael Douglas where he finally has it and goes nuts...? I thought of that movie when you were describing reactions. - Granted, that was a real severe and real delayed reaction but it still describes what can happen.

Gives new meaning to the phrase, "Slain in the spirit..."

OK WTH - who were you referring to here? I want to believe you're saying that the women here belong to Jesus Christ, the king. I have a feeling that you were being more sarcastic than that and referring to someone else. You think you're cute and witty - but this next post reveals some deep issues on your part. Then there was little fiasco of a post... Whatever you're doing - it's not working. I'd try a different solution (and maybe a different thread for a while too.)

At least you didn't try "Rhythm" brand. ;)

...He's a bit anal - so he has a problem with the term, "Log on."

You obviously have never tasted MY Minestrone!

...He still thinks that "Download" and "Upload" refer to the buttons on freight elevators.

I am unsinkable... ;) And I try to behave - but sometimes it's just sooo hard to be good!

I only used the quote because I liked that quote. I read some Anais Nin a long time ago and was really surprised that she had said this. None of the stories I read were of the nature you stated. I was more intrigued by the soaring of the imagination than anything else. If I find a quote I like better, I'll replace Nin's quote.

I don't like generic canned tomatoes. It seems to me that everytime I buy a can there are all sorts of bad spots on the 'maters. But - I live in a very different area of the country from you, Excie, so it may be that that is a good product in your area. I forget the rest since I stopped buying them... ;)

Jonny - I must have been posting as you were - I missed a few of your posts entirely... I never said you wear panties...

HEY! Calm down there Jonny! The point I was making was more subtle than you suggested. Yes, I know that you weren't introduced to... (the first two examples are ridiculous so I won't address them) the Watchtower. Yes, I know it was an excited WOW Ambassador that witnessed to you. (I can read.) My point is that God sent you a Christian that wanted to do His will. THAT IS THE BOTTOM LINE. I'm not so sure that God interests himself in classes. I feel confident that many, many people that never heard of vpw, or TWI, or took the class got born again and learned to listen to His voice. I feel confident that it even happened that very same day that you were witnessed to by that WOW. I'll bet there were others that got born again in that very same city without the aid of pfal. My point is that GOD knows how to reach a heart. The allegiance belongs to him and not a class or a ministry. And I'm not only talking about TWI either... I had good times. I met good people. I started my time in the ministry with a prayer that I wrote out to God pledging my allegiance to HIM. I ended it when that "Loyalty Letter" got filed under "13."

In drugs - I think since it's a chemical "formula" you are getting the same product. There are a lot of generic foods out there that I like and some I wouldn't allow animals to eat. Unfortunately, you have to taste them to decide - so only buy a small amount at first. BUT - I will buy a generic breakfast cereal if it's one of the "flavors" my kids ask for.
-
Jonny - I guess I have never, ever given credit to vpw for helping folks. God helped you. God sent that girl. He could have sent anyone - but she was the gal that was there and her heart was open to hearing His voice. God answered that prayer - this is true. It was God and His word that healed you and helped you.

5. He's waiting on revelation to tell so that he has God's will on a screenname and password.

There is one last response - passive aggression. Here's one example of passive aggressive behavior: Joe : Hey Sam! Will you help me move on Saturday? Sam : Call me on Saturday and I'll come over. (NOTE - No "Yes" or "No" was given in response.) When Saturday finally arrives, Sam's not home to receive any calls and his cell directs all calls to voicemail. He never said he wouldn't help. He can look Joe in the eye and say that he never got a call. What he won't say is that he made sure that he couldn't get a call. He most likely didn't want to help, but he also didn't want to appear like he was unwilling - so he was dishonest. Passive-aggressive behaviour has other ways of showing up. I've been privy to a lot of it in my life. It's always cowardly and it always sux.

7. He has a computer, but it's right there next to his jack in the toolbox... ;)
