  1. Jonny, I put these two side by side for a purpose. I know that Groucho was poking fun, but he also made a valid point. I know that what Dot said to you resonated in me as well. When I left "The Mother Ship Nash" I felt freed. I was free to minister wherever and to whomever. (Excuse the bad grammar.) No more branches, twigs, false divisions. My ministry was released (and I say that NOT as ordained clergy - because I wasn't - but a daughter of God that wanted to really serve.) I see myself as "ministering where I'm at." There are no boundaries, no assignments, no nametags, no classes, no forms to fill out. That makes every moment a "now" moment and the "good ole days" are the days I'm living right now - not sometime 30 plus years ago. I'm pretty certain you feel about the same way...
  2. Those boys are still playing their games, I see...
  3. Macs are different creatures... Suppose we just call it "Pineapple Pizta"? Kind of like using a "K" instead of a "C" in certain words.
  4. Thin Line Between Love and Hate - The Persuaders It can't be embedded - but the link works.
  5. Or you can use that little "green plus sign" tab in the reply toolbar at the top... You paste the URL then it asks you for a name for the link. It's neato keeno - Try it! ;)
  6. WordWolf - Look out ... :) Thank you for the synopsis, Suda. I think you needed to get that all out.
  7. Rod Stewart - This Old Heart of Mine:
  8. Jonny - W*ndy ended up graduating with the tenth (I believe) and then married J0hn S*ifert. They were in the North Texas area for a while - but I"m not sure where they are now.
  9. I was saying that the model that vpw wanted was a Christian ministry - so he had to use that play book. I'd like you to elaborate further on these things. That's a lot of conditions to come together at once. I wonder just how often he was in fellowship with God - no matter what he was doing...
  10. Jonny - There is way too much for me to say. I'd be writing for days and still not get done. Bottom line - the way we were taught to "minister" was all messed up. I don't believe the model of making a ministry a full time "job" is accurate at all. That doesn't mean that we don't get to minister - just that the paycheck isn't paper and the benefits aren't deductible. ;)
  11. Real men don't need a cologne to tell them they're real men... <_<
  12. Larry - there is a point where you personally get weary... It's not the same point for everyone. You do what you need to do and I'll do what I need to do - I think we're grown up enough to figure it out, hammer out our differences and forgive along the way.
  13. I have no disagreements with anything you said.
  14. That's a lot nicer than some folks would say... ;) Thanks!
  15. We have no arguments here Abi. I have no say whatsoever as to what happens to him now. It doesn't matter what he did, what he said, what I feel - all that matters for him is that judgement seat. I guess that I still feel that vpw and his teachings are connected. The bonds are loosened once a clear view of the man gets the spotlight. There are some of his teachings that lead to a kind of toxic faith - that is what I take exception with.
  16. It hit me the other day - I had forgotten it. When vpw taught that section of scripture and he said that "all the women in the kingdom belonged to the King anyway," I remembered how my heart sunk. I don't know how to describe it, but I was 21 - young and naiive and all I could feel was a sort of remorse. I felt devalued somehow. It only lasted a second, but I remembered it. It was as if at that point in time God didn't care about women. Afterall, God's main concern was that Uriah - a man - had been murdered... I don't want to make this seem like I thought about it a long time. It was gut knee-jerk reaction - but a reaction all the same.
  17. Hmmmm- could it have been foreshadowing... The plot sickens thickens...
  18. I'm just not getting the whole "I'm not going to judge him" angle. I mean if you were sent the following letter: "Beware of men in red and green plaid pants who also wear orange and purple striped shirts. If you see one of these men do not talk to them because they will then be able to go into your house and steal your food while you sleep." Granted, I know the very first thing to do is to check it out on snopes.com. ;) But if the letter turned out to be legitimate, I don't see how it is judgemental to properly assess a man that fits this description. It's not judgement - it's awareness. God tells us to beware. He doesn't say, "Well if you see one of these wolves in sheep's clothing just love him up and wait for me to take care of it all." We aren't to get revenge, but we also aren't supposed to leave the doors to our hearts unlocked when one of these guys comes a-knocking. Feel free to take your shots at me... ;)
  19. Actually, my point when I said : I meant that a person who really and truly believes - BELIEVES - that Jesus Christ is Lord and Jesus Christ is the Head of the Body has a certain perspective. From where I stand, a true man of God that really and truly believes this teaching does not live his life as if he can do anything as long as he isn't caught. Maybe he felt like starting a ministry that won so many to the Word would give him enough crowns that he could buy his way out of judgement. (Yea - that's my tongue in my cheek there.) Maybe he figured that he was heaven bound and all he!! couldn't stop him - so he might as well make it live it up while he was on earth. Basically, I figure that if you believe that if one member of the Body hurts then we all hurt - then you don't go around drugging and raping the women in the Body of Christ. Maybe he just mentally ascented to a lot of it - he liked that phrase anyway...
  20. I went to cman's link and found this: Despite Circulating E-mails it is not necessary to register cell phones... # Contrary to the e-mail, cell phone numbers are NOT being released to telemarketers, and you will NOT soon be getting telemarketing calls on your cell phone. # There is NO deadline by which you must register your cell phone number on the Registry. # Federal Communications Commission (FCC) regulations prohibit telemarketers from using automated dialers to call cell phone numbers. Automated dialers are standard in the industry, so most telemarketers are barred from calling consumers on their cell phones without their consent.
  21. It is possible to say one thing and do another. He himself said that it was possible to say anything with your mouth. I'd say that given that TWI was supposed to be a Christian ministry he had to say that Jesus Christ is Lord. But his action betray his true beliefs... How do you justify person drugging and raping women if he truly believes that Jesus Christ is Lord of all and Head of the Body?
  22. Well - I figured long ago that as long as Jesus and God knew who they were, I could handle not having it all figured out. I go back and forth a lot on this issue - and it doesn't bother me. I no longer feel a deep need to correct someone when they refer to the Trinity. If they try to engage me in an argument, I simply ask them if they believe in God, if they believe in Jesus Christ, and if they believe that Jesus is Lord. If they reply in the affirmative, I figure we have a LOT of things we agree on - and that gives more than enough to discuss.
