  1. Okay, let's try this again...I changed the wording in the opening post so that it reflected something other than TWI. It may still tick folks off - but I thought that this might provide some clarity. The first paragraph: Welcome to the Cafe - have a beverage. (She's a GREAT hostess BTW ) I know a lot of you love Star Trek - no matter what version you watch - it's all Star Trek. Second paragraph: I stopped watching 20 years ago - sometimes it was painful to not watch. My spouse likes debating with you trekkies - but I don't. For those of you that still hold the series near and dear - have some food and drink but I already spent too much of my life on this subject. Oh, and God Bless you! There is no bullying here. Tonto stated her POV and in a way said, "Welcome to the Cafe, I won't be joining you much. Find something good to eat and drink on the menu but most of the conversations about (insert whatever you want here) are on a subject that either bores me or annoys me. I come here to meet my friends and catch up on other matters." She didn't tell anyone to get lost. She didn't tell anyone to shut up. She only said (in a very vigorous manner) that she would not be participating in the discussions.) Those of you accusing her of bully tactics may want to reconsider your position. Perhaps you are projecting your own sentiments on Tonto. OH - I did watch all the Star Trek series - and enjoyed all but the original series. No Tribbles were harmed in the production of this post.
  2. Spaghetti and meatballs - with angel hair pasta Baked Ziti, Lasagne, homemade ravioli Minestrone Beef stew Chicken noodle soup - sometimes with little meatballs in it. Steak with lemon served with tomato salad potato salad made with red potatoes chickpea stew with dumplings I'll post a recipe later - there are quite a few of these posted already.
  3. Do you think before you post? Or do you close your eyes and hope for the best? I'm going to bed. Tomorrow I'll wake up and be happy and healthy and with my kids. You? You'll still be you. Good-night. Have a nice Labor Day.
  4. Thank you act2. That was the one I was thinking about.
  5. Okay - maybe it's better your way... Be a cheerleader for a guy who's been dead for 22 years. Here's a clue...It's not about "the guy." It's about faulty doctrine that helped "the guy" become an immoral wannabe MOG. It's just a little button John. Right there at the bottom right of your screen. It says, "R E P L Y" You press it and something magic happens - the post you quote is readible and distinguishable from your own words. Unless you like giving off the impression that ALL the words in you posts are really your's. (Just look at that last post you did and think about it.) Or are you wanting to take credit for all these quotes - that might be sort of appropro... <_< . . . . . It should be about here.
  6. Sushi obviously doesn't know how bad Bow's enemies get treated...
  7. I'm lost here. I heard in Tonto's opening post a bit of frustration that said that there was a mindset that she just didn't have the patience to deal with. She - Tonto - not everyone here. Then all of a sudden it seems like a a$$-kicking contest ensued. Why does it matter who's still in and who's out? Everyone grows at different rates and see different things at different times. I don't have to agree with everyone to be happy and I don't need everyone to think I'm right so that I can feel validated. This talk of a clicque is getting old. I've heard this tossed around too much. Geez! I hated High School for this very reason. If you all don't settle down the Howdy Dance is going to be cancelled...(Said in my very best "mean teacher" voice)

    Cast iron rocks!
  9. You know... I've thought about this thread for a while now... I can't really attribute it to PFAL - but many times through the years I have considered all the places I've been and all the people I've met. We're it not for me getting involved with a cult that made me move every year or so, I most likely would have stayed in NYC. Now, there's no telling what else I may have done. Travel. Meet new and interesting people... There's no way to measure what could have been. I can say, that because so many of us had a cult in common, that led us to become acquainted with so many people that normally would not cross our paths, and we associated with many of these folks merely because we had a class in common. Barriers were broken down. Some of this is good and some of it is bad. Overall, I'm glad for those who have entered my life.

    Snooty Pans

But did you get a gravy recipe? If not, PM me and I'll get you an even better one! ;)
  11. Back in the eighties a bunch of artists did Disney covers. Bonnie Raitt did "Child of Mine" which is the song that Dumbo's mother sings as a lullaby. It's sweet. I also think Martina McBride has a song you might like - I just don't know the name of it. ;)

Keep in touch and check your PMs.
  13. Great News! So was she found in another state and someone called you? WOW! How did you get the word out that far? Answers! We need answers!
  14. I don't like non-stick pans at all. My girls dance with a some kids who's dad is a bio-scientist. He says Teflon is nasty stuff. I have refused to us non-stick for twenty years. I have a set of le Crueset that was given to me long ago. It is enameled cast iron. It works great. If I can afford to and the time arises that I need to replace some pans, I will buy this again.
  15. Let's see if this another case where a person (or persons) know what to do but choose not to do it." WHO is the first line in the following post addressed to? By the way. T-Bone is right. The scripture he quoted starts out defining the nature of the "tree." The point I was making referred to Galatians and fruit in general. When it comes to being a false prophet, that tree is bad by God's definition. If you don't like it, go argue with management. (I threw that in there since I knew you'd like a quote from VP.) BTW - rewarding VP for good isn't our job. That's up to God. I still say that there some folks here that choose to be the watchmen who sound a warning when they see trouble.
  16. According to Scripture we all have a sin nature and Christians have the new creation within, at war. Hence, two natures. We determine our lifestyle by the choices we make. You want to call that "juggling" - fine. I think the term has too much chance and not enough choice.
  17. "I know you, are but what am I?" :biglaugh:
  18. Hey Satoori... I hope the fact that you were posting this means that you really are not in a coma. Stay in touch and let us know how it's going.

    WIPE OUT!

Hey Bumpy - this is silly. Read my first post again: Once again.. this is silly. You talk like I'm the one that gave you grief - and I did not. I suggested that if it was so upsetting to you to read the posts at Greasespot that perhaps you shouldn't return. I agreed with you that some of the arguments around here seem small in the grand scheme of things (hence the "tempest in a teacup" remark.) I even acknowleged that it can get pretty much like a bunch of teenagers arguing around here - which I try not to participate in. I tried to make it very clear that I was in no way wishing you to leave the cafe. I don't even have a say in the matter. I don't make the rules here. I just like to write. Sheesh! Us. Our. We. Many have said it before - this is a community. Granted it's a community on the web - but just the same it is a community. I never said "only us", "just our" or "we are the club." You absolutely don't know me at all if you are accusing me of that kind of thinking. I'd look in a mirror before laying insults (even those couched in innuendo) at anyone's feet. So you get offended when someone else throws an insult at you and then you take it out on me? It seems to me you may have once coordinated the Corps. Your tactics are very similiar. <_< Have another glass of wine... tell us how wonderful your life is there in wherever it is you sit at your computer and post. But please, spare me the attempts at superiority and pompousness. BTW - where did you get your screen name? Just wondering...
  20. So we basically said the same thing on this point. Any apple tree can be healthy one year and in a drought the next.
  21. I enjoyed my time in Norway! Hope that photographer got my good side.
  22. Many Christians juggle two lifestyles. That may make them just your normal everyday run-of-the-mill Christian who has to deal with sin, or it may make them a "carnal Christian." (Please correct me if I'm mistaken that this term is used in the Bible.) We all struggle with knowing what to do and not doing it. I believe it is a much, much bigger deal to know what to do and CHOOSE OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN not to do it. Spiritual fruit in a person's life is indicative of the nature and health of the "tree." IMHO if a person is a chronic juggler, he or she is making a deliberate decision over and over again to put forth an image other that the truth. The spiritual fruit in that person's life will either be non-existent or it will more closely resemble the works of the flesh described in Galatians as well.
  23. I'm not sure what "torturing doctrine" means. Is it the same as massaging passages to fit a certain preconceived idea?
  24. Yea...What Shellon said. :D
  25. For those who would like a Boston Baked Bean Recipe: Take your pick! Let us know what you think!
