I saw a few of these and I decided to post all 12 so that you could see this amazingly talented, humble, honest musician. I'll post two segments in each post. You can view all or part of the concert. I hope you are as moved as I am each time I hear this man. The 9th and 10th segments are amazing!

The song I'd like to share with you is at about 4:30 min...Rich Mullins - "You Did Not Have a Home."

I remember being taught the same techniques that car salesmen used to get people to sign on the line. "What would it take for you to sign this card today? What would it be worth to you to have more harmony in your home...?' Sales! Not Christianity. Someone please show me where in the gospels Jesus had to sell God's deliverance.

I remember... pulling over and crying... There are never enough words, because speech is inadequate, to express grief or thankfulness for tremendous sacrifice. Sometimes all I can do is cry. Then I determine to LIVE and make every moment of MY life count! Live as if I'm are going to live a life that shouts out loud, "THANK YOU!"

Oldies - First -she said that she had spent too much of her life with people who were sold out to a ministry rather than the Lord. Did she say that every person she met during her tenure in TWI fit into that category? NO! Second-Regarding anyone she encounters now - be it here at GSC or in life; she didn't say WHO was sold out to a ministry rather than the Lord. She merely said that she had no time to waste on those in that category. "If the shoe fits..."

The law of believing-NO GOD NEEDED

Ahhhh... but there is that "nasty" little verse in Ephesians that says that God will do exceedingly abundantly above... And on this hinged a LOT of error. And while I'm here and typing, VPW was no idiot in the common sense of the word. He KNEW the way the doctrine he set forth had changed. He made no attempts whatsoever to correct practical error. I'm not even saying that the original doctrine is sound. What I am saying is that when he heard the changes being made, he didn't set the record straight. During our Corps Night teachings, W*lter C*mmins taught that there was a reason why Corinthians was twice as long as Romans. It takes more explaining to correct practical error that it does to originally lay the doctrine out in the first place. At best, VP was lazy. At worst, he didn't care. -
Oldies - She didn't say that EVERYONE in TWI was sold out solely to that ministry only. She didn't say that she had no time for anyone that was ever part of TWI. She named a subset. It is that subset of people - those who fit the "rather" category that Tonto referred to in her post. And NO - your example does not say that a person can serve two masters. That would contradict what Jesus said. It says that the way to serve a "boss" (We aren't slaves here.) is to see your service and loyalty as being included within your service to Christ. (a subset - if you will)

did you ever hear wierwille speaking in tongues and/or interpret ?

Actually Johniam, I had a funny feeling about the "excellor sessions" from the first time I heard about them. Now - this thread did pose a question asking if anyone ever heard VP SIT outside of the class... It has changed to a related subject. Here's what I got on a quick (Very - I would look to more sources given the time) search: From Wikipedea Speech and Language Pathology Fluency is a speech and language pathology term that means the smoothness or flow with which sounds, syllables, words and phrases are joined together when speaking. [1]. Fluency disorders is used as a collective term for cluttering and stuttering. Both disorders have breaks in the fluidity of speech, and both have the fluency breakdown of repetition of parts of speech. Fluency disorders are most often complex in nature and they tend to occur more often in boys than in girls[2]. So - eliminating the "pathology" part of this - the idea of being "fluent" in a tongue seems to flow with what we believed we were doing. My biggest problem from the beginning was that with all of VP's talk about teaching straight from the Word, he never was able to show any reason for an excellor session given in scripture. BUT - did you ever notice that with all the excellor sessions to get fluent in tongues, the interpretations stayed stuck in the same old pattern? So far I'm not bashing anyone here. I do believe that there was error in how the whole subject of tongues with interpretation was handled, though. -

Remember that song, "The Name Game?" "Let's do Shirley! Shirley, Shirley Bo-birley Banana-fana fo Firley Fee Fi Fi Fo Mirley Shirley!" :evildenk: "Lo Shanta! Lo shanta, shanta Bo-anta Banana-fana fo-anta Fee Fi Fo Manta Lo shanta" Keep up the good work! You'll be fluent in no time! <_< -
Soooo... do tell? I wonder if I even want to know... Dare I ask? Are you wanting to pose the question... What do men want in women?

Hootie and the Blowfish - "Hold My Hand"

A LOT of these "promises" are based on John 10:10. The rest are based on TWI's big draw of the day - speaking in tongues. They're all mostly BS. I started getting in trouble when I heard anyone anywhere say that such and such a class changed their life. I'd get right up to them and say, "That's impossible. Classes don't change lives - God changes lives. Your life changed because you decided to accept God's hand in your life."

I heard VP speak in tongues during a few teachings... when he wanted to emphasize that he was "heaven bound and all He!! couldn't stop him." He always had that "Lo shanta.." in there to begin the "sentence." Remember that by the time the class had been filmed that VP had supposedly been "speaking in tongues like a house a'fire" for many years. Yet the tongue seemed simple in comparison to what we were to strive for later on. On the other hand... Just how does one go about deciding that a tongue (read "UNKNOWN LANGUAGE") IS "rich and developed?" I mean to us, the click language would sound awfully simple and sing song. Perhaps it's arrogance to think we can evaluate the maturity and richness of a person's tongue. -
What do women want in men...? The Wizard of Oz kind of sums it up... A brain... A heart... The nerve...

Solomon was a King. If I understand correctly, the King didn't preach. There were prophets who were responsible for giving "the Word of the Lord." There were the Levites - and they had a responsiblity. Is it time for an Old Testament history lesson...?
