my cats were bred for me . funny thing this internet you know. i will state something that if my family or friends ever said to me they wouldnt be my family and friends anymore. my male cat might be "disabled" mentality but in a good way. I have never seen a cat so human dependent. or a human so cat dependent. so there it is . we are what we are . we all have issues. if you enjoy them then enjoy.one of my daughters has a cat that got cut up in a car motor and lost his legs and he is a very nice cat. He wa wild and slept in the car engine to keep warm and didnt make it out one day funny thing.. he went running up to humans knowing they could save his life, and begged for mercy . of course now he doesnt have much choice but to be a house cat and he turned out nice . he doesnt like other cats so much tho maybe because he knows he doesnt have a chance in a row with any of them.

I seem to recall they lost the non profit status at one point and had to jump hoops to get it back and it was a few years in the process. I have heard of groups in NY losing the status of nonprofit , the way I understand it (of course this is NY) it is a highly regulated ordeal that isnt easy to maintain .

Ok Im certain the mileage may vary. Yet I know folks who speak of "going wow" as THE highlight of their life. maybe because of "the effort and dedication" they felt at the time . Yet thirty or more years later to recall an event of your teen or young adult years while involved a ministry you got thrown out of or left for good reason and you no longer participate in... um seems to be it stopped the growth of many, spiritualy and personaly and professionly. some left their families never to return home again because of being stuck and etc.. some quit educating their brain or seeking goals altogether besides what twi sold . I think the wow field worked for some as a good thing but damaged many more for many years .

one more note Any animal picked up as a stray in NY is not released until it has been castrated or spayed. end of discussion . even if you claim your pet as lost you must first give a really really fine reason as to why this animal is not "fixed". before you pay alot of fee's to get them out of jail . and they do fix them within 24 hours of arrival and say to bad for you if you find them in jail to late. the resources are limited and the humane society recieves govt money to operate, the goal is to stop the madness of unwanted animals roaming around breeding with one another. they offer a reduced or free service to all animals. they do NOT give them a pregnancy test beofre they are snipped and tied, many are already pregnate when surgery is performed and the litter is taked away as part of the operation rountinly. they do not have the resource to keep a pregnate cat or dog or the time to wait for the babies to be weaned THEY abort all pregnancys. this is more often the case than not with a animal that has been in the wild for even a short period they come in pregnate and that is why they do the surgery nearly immediately and do not allow any animal to be adopted unless fixed. My sister adopted a wonderful full bred black lab, she had to be fixed and was given an abortion during the surgery. My sister other dog had puppies and the lab became very very depressed when the puppies arived, you cannot tell me it didnt change who she was she didnt want the puppies any puppy any where near her. sad but this is very true and rountinly done I understand the why due to resources and the population issues with strays. many of theses "shelters" that claim to be a '"No kill " zone use the resource of the humane society to fix the animals they want adopted so it is across the board done to most animals that need homes. The odds are your cats were indeed if not in full heat then Pregnate when they got the surgery, a cat doesnt go a year without becoming pregnate and can have three litter in a year. or more. this will make them insane if they had an abortion and a everything precious to who they are removed at the same time I and many other believe it makes for a nuerotic animal that will never be a pet worth what they could have been in many ways. yes they need homes, but the risks of getting a animal that had mental problems increases with the adoption from a shelter or even a private organization that must use the resource of the humane society. I think the fact the shelter often have their animals returned due to issues speaks aloud. they do try to find them homes and hope it works out but do not be so foolish to think those animals do not often have serious issues because of their history and the manner they are regulated . it has to be done to try to stop the over population, understand . but the animals are often not as healthy as one wants to sell them as. We all know the story of the adopted stray and how great they worked out!!! my sister loves her black lab very much, but they do come with issues and CATS with behaviour or mental health issues are either traded in or just allowed to be crazy and unhappy and written off as not nice etc... much easier than a dog. i want it said I do support the adoption from the shelter, but I would not take the risk knowing the reality even if they do get a home. more often than not theses animals are returned to the shelter because it didnt work out , the human never was able to bond with the cat enough to fullfill the life long commintment it takes to own a pet. this is a sad note and i did hesitate to write the reality of the animals in America . but you may want to consider the fact they did have abortions and they may never have the correct composition to be enjoyable pets .

it may be the issue ... IF the cat was in heat when she was spayed.. and a careless vet or a humane society will indeed go ahead and perform the surgery while a female is in heat, the personality will because weird and unpredictable because you messed with their "stuff" and their stuff dictates their behaviour. this is a controversal issue some will tell you it makes no difference it does the hormones are what tells them what to do as far as behaviour. everyone has seen a cat in heat HELLO a little crazy or what? if the surgery was timed while they had an active heat it is a physical state that is very uncomfortable for them , and their age 15 months certainly suggest it could be possible they had heat then they are stuck with immature hormones wrecking havoc on their personalities. A good vet will not consider it if a dog or cat is in heat. many will do it just to do it. I had mine done at 4 weks before any chance of the turtore of desire entered their brain system. it is the same with a cat that sprays .. then you get them fixed ... they still spray why? learned behaviours and messed up hormones. to me they do not make for lovey "pets". they are fixed animals I can tell the difference. it just may take some more time. A more noticable personality change is in the females , this is why some suggest to allow a female to litter before spaying. if not a baby then for a nice pet one needs to do the deed before a heat arrives.. a heat can lst 9 months or more ! often not leaving until oct or nov and back in the spring this is also why some vets do not want to wait.. it is to possible more babies will arrive and a female in heat is not nice for the most part. I think that may be some of your issue .

Another dynamic in this house is the male female thing . He will kill her rip her to shreds if she doesnt know her place in the cat order here. they used to fight so bad fur clumps would be all over the house and he would have fur sticking out of his teeth. now they get along all he has to do is walk near her and she obeys . He is the dominate cat , he doesnt have a need to fight her NOW. she runsthe house as long as he is the boss. she loves him so much , if he isnt happy she is the one who screams till I do something not him. The natural order to animals and even tho they live in a human world they for the most part will stick to what is their manner, and two females esp if they are without their hormones may be "confused" on what role they play in the jungle.

No. I have not slept without the cat since my youngest left home. he is a empty nest cat. "special" if you will. I had the surgery on him when he was 4 weeks old . i think he thinks he is a person or in the very least not really sure , he is very manly and he is part wild cat, a bob the vet thinks. he roars which typical domestic cats can not do . yes like the lion with the mane. he roars. he saved my life once and nearly lost his in the process . I wont tell that sotry but it has been since that i cherish him even more. he is an outstanding rare cat when folks meet him .. they freak.. his size his voice and his colors are ectra ordinary . that being said i will tell you there is a vast difference between male and female personalities just by virtue of their sex. In nature the girl kitties are the hunters for the family and the moms and they are the ones who watch over the group. A happy cat with humans will fill this role in a family naturaly. they are often much more vocal .. much more curious, and less hands on beasts. my girl loves me she sits and stares at me 24 /7 when the kids began to leave it used to make me angry at her. she sits one cat length away from me and will often put her paw on my arm , but she is always prepared to leap out of the way if i get up or others comes in the room. she doesnt care about that being picked up business either she goes stiff as a board and stares at the wall till it is over. girls are different . i got her fixed at a young age as well this makes a difference in the personality of a cat .. the hormones released as they age "changes" their behaviour and interactions alot. I have had many cats all of my life lived on a farm and watched the barn cats the girl cats always have an agenda on ay given day they have things to do places to go .. they like people but the girls work more than the males do. male cats are often much more affectionate and needy than a female . and two girls in a home means they may be competing some with one another.

i shouldnt gush about him so.. but he is so sweet when i get sad he feels it , he will come to me and kiss away my tears gently. and then meow and turn his head . we have been through a life of hard times together , both of us has seen much heart break and pain , we are still here. I seriously cant imagine life without him and his sister. i hold him like a teddy bear at night he puts his arms around my arms and i hold him , he purrs , and we fall asleep. he moves his own self into position every time i lay down. we need one another.

hello the cat on the right prefers to consider himself as 'beefy" and if i had not had the vet take to his boys this may have never happened so he would like to meet your girl with the sexy body . this is his im to sexy pose . he lives with his mom me and his sister who is not over weight . we do not understand why he is so big .

I smoke. I smoke only on lunch and the one break . I will tell you a story about your concerns that i was involved in . I was trained to work at a site with a gal who did what you describe every hour or more she would go and puff a cig. I started my day later than her so she would often tell me I didnt take break yet.... uh ok. and then after a while she began taking break with me .. and longer than our time allowed esp. in the summer she would sit on the table outside for an hour or more smoking and talking on her phone . ok. my boss told me she was the boss. then even with the extra long breaks she would continue to sneak out without me and smoke another. and we always ended the day at least 30 minutes early. I got paranoid we had no supervision ( or did we?) people came and went often but we answered to no particular person . they did their thing we did ours. I requested nearly demanded a transfer from another supervisor without trying to say the "real" reason I wanted out . She was in with one of the boss's who had no clue Or didnt care Im not sure which way it was. we work for the state. and i think she will be reported some day by a employee who is in a mood one day and wonder why in heck she seems to be never account for the time she puts in . Everyone knows NY is screwed and in debt and feels the pressure. I was tansfered and I smoke only on breaks now. I do not know my work ethic got so frightened I couldnt take the sneaky and care free attitude that no one knows what we are really doing. she is doing fine and the boss who thinks she is golden still loves her and screams her praise . I felt like it was a time bomb working with her. just sharing.

notawafer your posts always bring me much joy and sound reasoning. about your friend who has a boyfriend who is irresponsible with money, I have a thought that may make many rather upset. I think they are perfect for one another. He may be irresponsible with money and yet she in turn is irresponsible with who she shares her life with, they share money by living together and as long as he is the one to blame for being irresponsible she does not really have to look at why she makes a "poor" choice in relationships. WE can not change another , but we can influence and in 5 years she can not educate him to financial concern to her liking it speaks on her more than him . he doesnt have a problem , she does. If she isnt willing to change her habits concerning money to his way of thinking then it is her issue with him.. and that is the core of what she needs to address. why does she stay? people blame others for not growing up.

NY has always been the last to recover , this state reliance on wall street has dictated a slower reocvery in every recession. and now we have a huge huge debt we can not pay our governor is calling for RADICAL cuts, trillions are needed. I moved to an apartment that has utilities included, I am paying off my credit card debt and not putting anything eles on debt. living low as far as meals and trips etc. praying we will get well soon.

I think this site gives a trick appearance. In this poll 45 people total have answered. that is not alot of folks . all together. maybe more will answer being the holidays some may not be online, but really the core of who is who at this site has voted I think. those who feel the pull as Shellon describes have probably voted as it has been a few days and Pawtucket as the author always gets a look from the masses due to his fame. it seems to me 45 people can get together on another chat room and do what they need to do to satisfy their need to talk. As far as folks dealing with emotional attachments to the internet and web sites, well ... that is an increasing problem in the world today . Choices in life esp. as we grow more comfortable as we age are often difficult. doesnt make them bad or good just choices. most of the who is who have one anothers e-mail etc. so again emotional attachments to what you do on your down time aside.. I still fail to see the issue. what are you afraid will happen if you stop the web site? As far as I know we can block any unwanted mail or phone calls from our life. I believe this site helps inform others. But I think it plays a larger role in a social gig , again not a bad thing but if my "friends" are unworthy I have little or no need to provide for them. 45 people with that number call them up or e-mail them and have your personal say. this is not changing the world really , unless you have made it your world.

Wow that is alot of stress in one year. I have had years like (sort of) like that. It is so easy to give advice but not very helpful. I live in New York (up) and well i will tell you my story I wanted a change i was struggling with low pay jobs and boredom so i went back to school paid a whole lot of money to become certified in a very particular job. I spent most of my savings to make this change, but new once I did it I could pay it back and life would be great. then i broke my foot and spent a year with no insurance unable to walk and told surgery was the only option so i to welfare and they said I had to much money, but i sure didnt have enugh for the dr. to fix my bone . a |ENTIRE year in pain and misery and less and less money until i nearly homeless and welfare gave me the insurance if i signed saying i would pay it all back. got foot fixed found new job. I hated and I mean hated it every single minute of it i was so unhappy I cried just at the thought of seeing the people I worked with, everyday. no one should live like that. I was fired. okok because i want to help you and i have little dignity TWICE i was fired. blew my self esteem to crap. just crap. no umemploymnet no way am I going back to what I had spent two years training to do I hated it. took a brutal job from hell in a hotel , just to eat and lost everything including the house. that was last year. move to a cheap apartment in a bad section of town. then one day I got an email a strange email saying just this "are you interested" in a bazzare freaky out of this world chain of events i was offered a job on a try it will call you if I need you never hire you condition. it conflicted with my job which paid 7 dollars an hour, I quit , take the chance , and they called me enough to equal that pay so far... flash since june they did hire me and I LOVE MY JOB i love the people I work with and Im very happy. so work is available it is just they will put you through the mill and then some to get in. you may know NEW YORK spend an average of 6 months longer within a recession than the rest of the nation , because of wall street. and they now say we will be a full TWO years longer than the rest of the nation because of our debt. so it really will only get worse and stay worse here than anywhere eles. food for thought. i kind of seek change, it is who I am, but forced changed and stress like you have had is different it takes a toll. You have your friends and with the communication avenues distance is not a problem for seeking employment these days . why not try to apply there now? just see who is gonna nibble and such. good luck with everything. OH and by the way for me it did get worse again in my family life one of my adult children is leaving her husband and because i think my grand sons should be allowed to see their dad I am no longer allowed to see them.. life is rich just rich. love pond like the toad and prince story.
