Marketing strategies and mission statements, I would think, are bedrock deliberations and calculations even if not written down. Whether in business or ministry pursuits, one needs to define the product and a means of marketing that product. Thus, after wierwille had sat thru BG Leonard's class for a second time in Jun/July of 1953 and drove back to Ohio.......I tend to think that he was *calculating* a path forward while also extricating himself from the Van Wert Church payroll. Albeit, it wasn't just the knowledge that "thrilled" him.....it was the independence and options afforded him. There's nothing like taking flight after years of church constraints. A few years later, in August 1957, and wierwille resigns as church pastorate. The church directors unanimously accept his resignation. But here's the *calculation*......if vic teaches class attendees to walk by the spirit of God via these manifestations, expounding that holy spirit within will teach and guide you along the way, then students might possibly just take this knowledge and be gone. Or, vic can teach [skew] it in such a way as to present a calculus, or caveat, to entice more learning. And further, that the first set of manifestations, namely speaking in tongues, interpretation of tongues and prophecy, are uniquely designed for within the body of believers AND to be *practiced* over and over and over again. Did Rev. BG Leonard teach it THIS way? I don't know. But I do find it very interesting that Leonard was out front and center laying on of hands and ministering healing to others. Seemingly, Leonard was admonishing others to power in action, not some quishy "practice sessions" of interpretation of tongues and prophecy and then, break for cookies and milk. Hence, one of two things: 1)Wierwille never believed the scriptures concerning these manifestations and simply regurgitated [plagiarized] these truths to model his ministry apart for traditional churches in the area, or 2)Wierwille *calculated* that Leonard's strategy to teach and turn 'em loose with these manifestations would result, for him, a sputtering ministry with no centralized authority or control. Is there a third option?

Yeah....like when my limb coordinator, 4th corps guy, was planning to exit twi at the end of the 1977/78 tenure. The questions and discrepancies of twi's hypocrisy was front and center......and I, TOO, SHOULD HAVE EXITED......but I didn't. Deep down, I knew things weren't right. But I kept trying to trying to water this tree even though it was rotting at the core.

Moving 'the Word' = Run Classes = Lockstep Loyalty
skyrider replied to skyrider's topic in About The Way
Twig --> Branch --> Limb --> Root -----> and the money is pocketed and the behemoth grows larger every week, every blue-form sent to hq. How about a BIBLICAL reference to this age of Grace? The One Body. Finger --> Wrist --> Arm --> Shoulder --> Neck --> Head ----> CHRIST -
Moving 'the Word' = Run Classes = Lockstep Loyalty
skyrider replied to skyrider's topic in About The Way
Yeah....."in cooperation with" = lockstep loyalty. Remember: just *get them in the class and let the class teach them.* Which, by the way, gave wierwille more time in his rollicking motorcoach. -
When one unveils twi's essence of "the Word".....it had nothing to do with *rightly dividing the word of truth* [iI Tim. 2:15], but rather wierwille's *rightly divided word of truth.* It was a DONE DEAL. Case closed and lock the research department doors! Wierwille was the "workman" and "his work" stands approved before God......now, followers get in line. Forget about that twig nonsense of self-governing, self-sustaining and self-propagating. Those marching orders have come for hq on what IT IS to move the word. Run classes! That's it, see. Now, your responsibility is to go out there and knock doors and get classes rolling. Lockstep Loyalty. If A=B, and B=C.....then A=C. Running classes for profit [enrollment fees + tithe/abs monies ad infinitum] was what thrilled wierwille when he left BG Leonard's class in Calgary, Alberta and went rushing home to Ohio. The light bulbs had gone off.....$$$$$. This thing could be BIG. Forget this church-congregant stuff. This class-based setup has exponential potential. And so, wierwille gets family, friends, and neighbors to enroll in this foundational class. Class after class, vpw stands up front and presents BG's material....tweaking and adding thru the years until he arrives at the juncture of getting this class on film. THEN.....he needs johnnie towns3nds to do the work; be a class instructor. Not The Teacher, mind you. Just a temp job to run the class and collect fees. Ding. Ding. Ding. Ding. Whoa baby! More and more sign-ups and johnnie t. and trusted can't handle the class load. NOW, to get this thing really rolling........we need lots of class instructors. But not just ANY instructors. Twi needs TRUSTED instructors. Those who won't take the material and split out......ahem, like wierwille did. Thus, a program to instill fear and discipline in the ranks. That's the ticket. Oh,.......and call it a LEADERSHIP program. Yet, the dirty little secret is that it has no intention of allowing *leaders* to lead with self-dignity. Nope. They will ALWAYS be little more than lockstep loyalists. Until they unearth the pathetic, generic buzzspeak of twi's "the Word".....they will fall prey to its bait and switch. They will champion their calling to stand on "the Word" all the while NOT REALIZING that they've been enslaved to build another's pyramid.
-
And.......the grey-haired crowd, nursing nostalgia of the twi daze, are the ones who have no where else to go. They've spent the majority of their lives in this isolated commune with its own cult language and skewed traditions. They comfort one another trapped in this snare. Time may not have run out on them yet.....but it's sure passing them by. These groups generally allow the long-standing folk "teach" every so often and, it must, add some sort of relevance to staying involved. Or....bringing forth a "word of prophesy" (heh, heh). Vanity is one of the seductions that Solomon warned in his writings.
-
Why am I not surprised? 1) Not really involved much 2) Never went corps 3) Military WOW -- ie on his own, far away 4) No involvement with twi leadership 5) Fond memories of takit's rock&roll rhythm Where have I seen these similarities before? Oh yeah, that other military poster.

Although there is an exclusive corps website, I've been told that it is taboo to discuss corps experiences or the corps program. I cannot give firsthand information on this, because I have no intentions of checking it out. Some go there to find *corps friends* so I hear, but its not much of a hangout and certainly doesn't champion the corps indoctrination. If anything, some laugh at the things we did. Those who exited early are the ones getting the last laugh.

The PFAL '77 class was supposedly destined to replace the older version.....and it didn't happen. At age 60, wierwille had the machinery in place to enhance his legacy; he just didn't have the right foundation. IMO, wierwille was strong-arming the corps directors to push corps commitment levels to absurd lengths of loyalty. Really? He wanted us to jump every time he commanded it so. Screw that! That's NOT what my bible says. Yet, the corps coordinators were enabling this abuse by brown-nosing the wierwille agenda. When you really think about it....."How many years did the wierwille-hype sustain any level of enthusiasm?" Seven, eight at most [1975-1983]. That's it. For all the messaging of how great things were and/or the impact of wierwille's legacy.....IT WAS VERY SHORT LIVED AND MANUFACTURED, AT BEST. But then, wierwille knew that he was up against the clock. He had spent decades nursing his narcissism. His corps program was to be the industrious instructors that carry his legacy into the future. He had those seven maple trees planted to the south of the Wierwille home for a specific purpose, a private cemetery and resting place. Yet, the corps began abandoning him......and he called them out for it. "Cop-outs" he thundered time and time again. It irritated him to no end that they balked at this twi-servitude lifestyle. Why can't they stay faithful? The manipulation was no longer working and more drastic measures were needed. The most deadly weapon in his arsenal was the microphone from which he hurled *devil-possessed* epithets. Time was running out. And, wierwille could not stand having a stampede heading for the exits. And, it worked. NO ONE called him on it. Not Don, not Howard, not Walter, not Vince, not JohnLynn, not Duke.......the tyranny ensued. But by then, it was only a matter of time. And, that was something wierwille didn't have. Shorty, very shortly, after wierwille's death the stampede took place. The corps were quickly dispersing to the four corners of the earth.....back into society, career paths, planning to regain ground from years lost. Why is it that of the 2,800 (+/-) graduated corps, so few ever publically recant the wierwille hypocrisy machine? Well....imo, the whole thing is quite embarrassing actually. Few want to be associated with its scam and demise. Besides, its just MORE TIME one would spend that was squandered needlessly following wierwille's visionary debacles, time that is sacred and scarce. Sure....you'll have the cheerleading wierwille-apologists talk pfal attributes. But.....you sure as he!! won't find many who champion the corps indoctrination. .

Yeah....teaching truth and exposing their "bait and switch" fraud. Religion and its practices always hide in the shadows of truth, always mask their intentions, always provide a caste system of hierarchy, always fleece the underlings. No surprise here. The gospels are full of accounts where Jesus confronted Pharisee poison. The apostle Paul encountered religious opposition time and time again. In confronting them, we are lessening the adulation and cash flow that strengthens their gains. Same deal, different day.

Now there is a quantum leap of insinuation. No, I am not trying to convince "Yours Truly" that the song, Don't Stop Speaking God's Word has Devil-possessed lyrics............BUT since you, zbrick, brought it up, have you checked this out according to Scripture? I see NO REFERENCE to "speaking God's Word." There ARE references to 1) speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God, 2) speaking boldly in the Lord, 3) speaking by the Spirit of God, 4) speaking the truth in love, 5) speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs. Don't stop speaking God's Word is twi buzz-speak. Period.
-
zbrick.....in reading your post, I seriously doubt that you whole-heartedly agree with my comments 120%. How could that possibly be accurate when you deviate from my stance, inject a view of insanity for "regulars" that discuss twi issues and outright state that you disagree with Takit songs? 1) On the contrary, I would say that contributions to this GSC site serve as a warning of cult involvement. Have you not read in Scriptures where Jesus warned his disciples and followers of Pharisee and scribes transgressing the commandments of God by their man-made traditions? Several times, Jesus called them out as hypocrites. Galatians 5 might also help you, zbrick, to understand the postings here......namely, standing fast in the liberty wherein Christ has set you free and after verse 16 the listing of those who walk by the flesh/lust. Twi encompasses nearly every attribute in that listing. Like kyrs noted, many of us are signaling a warning for travelers on the highway.....but where she generously states a big pothole, I might refer to it as a sink hole. Same warning, just differing levels of concern. Everyone here at GSC has had a unique experience with twi. Some have been deeply abused. Some have gone even further than posting on this site; some have written a book. Oppression, manipulation and exploitation are vicious weapons used against the soul of mankind. Free expression is healing and liberating. 2) Your concept of "insanity" for those who post here is very interesting. Associations, groups and foundations have been formulating for hundreds of years to counter measures that they see as aggrieved. Take for instance, John Walsh's America's Most Wanted.....to get this thugs off the streets and behind bars. Is that bitterness? Is that insanity? What about thugs who stand behind the pulpit and then, in private life, set their lusts and predation on women? Victor Paul Wierwille lived a double, deceitful life: this dramboie-downing teacher abused young women. And further, he sternly told Martindale to do the same. 3) With regards to the Takit music, I found it quite interesting that your FAVORITE SONG was "Don't Stop Speaking God's Word." Perhaps, you don't realize how that song is loaded with twi buzz-speak. Does it have Christian elements in it? Yes. But is it more twi front-loaded than Christian inspiration? Most definitely.
-
Will there ever be an end to this nonsense? You know.....devotees of wayworld, twiers and ex-twiers, who fantasize [idolize] the "good-ole days." Those who fondly remember the green bumper stickers, tent city at roa, Takit songs, tee-shirts and junk promo, etc. A world where you never grow up. A world where you fly away to an ISOLATED island. A world where you shun responsibility and reality. What kind of cult-induced charisma can one possibly be clinging to? Wierwille's claims of "the law of believing," a more-abundant-life, and "word over the world twi-style" has been denounced with a commanding THUD. The magician has left the stage. The lights have come up. The props have collapsed. The smoke and mirrors have cleared. And, the tricks are not nearly as impressive.....now. The cult of personality seems to linger decades later for those who refuse to address reality. Fine. It's there life and they can live in denial and daydream of Neverland if they so desire. But really? Holding onto incongruous, contradictory beliefs when facts, reality, and truth are staring you in the face is known as cognitive dissonance....a mental disorder. I contend that TWI, the self-perpetuating cult, began dying in 1978. Why? Time, and reality, HAD MOVED ON WITHOUT WIERWILLE NOTICING. Corps and Advanced Class grads were marrying and starting families. And children brought a whole new set of dynamics that wierwille was not addressing. He thought his charisma would carry the day. But it didn't. The reality of increasing responsibilities, financial concerns, career paths, educational pursuits, etc.....all toward the view of upward mobility was being discussed on the home front. Responsible people are not stupid. They plan for the road ahead. Many, many quality individuals.....and maybe, that's the optimal word "individuals".....were slipping away to pursue higher education and/or career paths. In my corps, some 325 graduated. But within a couple of years, dozens upon dozens were gone.....and that was back in Wierwille's day, 1981. Of course, all the fanfare was towards those who were running Limbs and running classes......but those slipping out the back door was apparent to those who had a modicum of discernment. To those slipping away......they didn't believe in twi's "Neverland." Maybe, its just me. I've been this way my whole life. I grew up on a farm and was driving a tractor at age 10. My Dad expected me to be responsible. There was no excuse for being lackadaisical or daydreaming of hanging at the swimming pool all summer. None of that. There was work to be done. We worked long days. And, sports had the same coordinates: no excuses for not improving, not moving forward. Cult-land: The New Neverland Fantasy.

Those *branch outreach events* are a rallying cry to escape the boredom of endless, monotonous snooze-fests.....er, recycled teachings. Besides, in numbers.....they go "witnessing" to feel empowered. With very little results, their only jaded satisfaction is cornering the unsuspecting and/or ridiculing the responses. Their actions are emblematic of gangs, not disciples. Few ever do the door-to-door witnessing anymore. They are more inclined to go to parks, outdoor markets, bookstores, open venues, etc. to find recruits. And yes, twi's declining numbers is always searching for new blood. Running classes is their life's blood.......while the elitist hq staffers sit at their desks and tabulate the numbers. Have things changed? Of course they have. Have things changed for the better? Now THAT depends on the perspective and perception of the beholder. From my vantage point, the wheels on the bus go 'round and 'round even though the bus is miles down the highway. But...... for those sitting ON THE BUS, they just sit there while life passes them by.

Why doesn't Rosie and Co. want to publish volume II? Surely, someone in Way Publications could cut-and-paste a sanitized version of wierwille's accomplishments from 1962-1985? I mean, think about it...... 1) The filming of the pfal class with details of furniture rental and burning retinas 2) Schmoozing with young bucks and hippies to bring love-ins on grassy knolls in western O-hi-ooo 3) Adjoining the Way West and Way East under one big, money-making tent....TWI 4) Ratcheting up the leadership and cloning with the Way Corps program 5) Moving the corps program to Emporia, KS......a town that never embraced the cult 6) Buying "Sleepy Hollow" on a handshake and setting up camp along the Gunnison river 7) The Family Corps gets a place of its own at Rome City, Indiana 8) LEAD Outdoor Academy and climbing rocks to spiritual heights 9) PFAL '77 .....and the re-making of a class that never was 10) Ministry Events -- Living Victoriously, Passing the Mantle, Sound Out '84 11) Wierwille's Last Teachings and is a martyr in the eyes of cult followers 12) Legacy: A ministry in tatters, offshoots, and exposed for all the world to see Who wouldn't want to author these highlights in volume II? Why isn't the talent pool at twi rushing to do this?
-
In the quote above, the bold-face emphasis is mine. For those unfamiliar with Mrs. Wierwille's book, Born Again To Serve.....it was published in 1996. Also, it was an over-sized book whose secondary purpose was a coffee table book. That's right. Twi intended for their avid followers to have this book on a coffee table or end table for public display. Just like those trustee pictures sent out year after year, it wasn't a love gesture......it was for promotional value. It's not about you, it's about THEM. This book is to be displayed at the twig level...... ....in a home where followers gather to sing from a twi-song book, ....cleaned daily and meticulously arranged for fellowships, ....with all lighting/heating/cleaning expenses incurred at local level, ....and refreshment responsibilities passed around like a hot potato, ....with devotional attendance maintained by brow-beating overseers, ....and all abs money is a one-way street to HEADQUARTERS. Now, aren't you so thankful to be displaying this book for them?
-
Ironic, isn't it? A ministry that proclaims to be "God's True Household" and have had "the greatest man of God in their midst since the Apostle Paul"......and prides itself on attention to detail.....leaves Victor Paul Wierwille's legacy unfinished. Take. A. Minute. To. Let. That. Sink. In. And....no one wants the assignment of writing volume II. Maybe, the "unfinished" wierwille-legacy adds credence to THE ZERO TEACHER after all?
-
After reading Mrs. Wierwille's book twice (yeah, I know....it was a grind) and hundreds of threads on Waydale/GS..... I am convinced that vpw was flying by the seat of his pants. For years, vic was on the lookout for an inflection point where adulation intersected cash flow. Wierwille was in a constant search for overnight look-at-me success....ie the spiritual lottery. When his brother, Harry, stumbled upon Bishop Pillai in Tennessee, the invitation was quickly extended to come to Ohio. Lo and behold, wierwille soon finds himself wanting to take a trip to India with a guest host, provided by Pillai, awaiting to open doors. And, voila....wierwille is strutting his stuff in India just like Dr. E. Stanley Jones. Same with the B.G. Leonard foundational class. Wierwille heads to Calgary, Alberta.....and this class changes his life. Light bulbs go off!! This is class-based multi-level marketing scheme at the end of the rainbow. Soon, students like Dr. Higgins would introduce Bullinger's work to this man on the run.....er, this man who kept "searching for truth." See the pattern. Connect the dots and wierwille was going thru life like most everyone else. The mystique of this "man of God" unravels with every page. And, notice.......Volume II has yet to be written. From 1962-1985, those years will remain silent. Any guesses why?

And....any success in the wow program was largely the result of the 80-20 rule, law of the vital few Pareto principle -- where roughly 80% of good effects came from 20% of good-hearted people vowing to keep their commitment to serve God. Countless wow program "failings and failures" were left unreported....sex romping, sexual predation, boozing, drugs, thievery, sluggards, deadbeats, etc. slithered away or were kicked off the program at the expense of longsuffering experiences. At times, wow rovers demanded that wow families be more *accepting* and MORE FORGIVING and allow this ilk and evil to remain in their midst. Wow Rovers and Limb Coordinators covered for the wow program so that it didn't tarnish twi. You know the bit about.....lest the ministry be blamed sorta thing. The corps program was straight-up indoctrination to do the mog's bidding and become lockstep soldiers and class instructors. Even the corps could NOT BE TRUSTED with teaching aspects of the "more abundant life".....just get them in the class. Let the 33-hour droning of this presentation, with no allowance for questioning, to be repeated over and over and over again. The systematizing of error had run amuck. This cult-soldiering led to wierwille-worship, imo.
-
In twi, we were taught of the five gift ministries when Christ ascended up on high and gave gifts unto men [Eph. 4:11,12]......namely, 1)apostles, 2)prophets, 3)evangelists, 4)pastors and 5)teachers. And further, these were for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of Christ's ministry, and for edifying of the body of Christ. Surely, there is accountability and safeguards in Scripture for people to discern truth from error, the true from the fraudulent. Yet, the *teacher* seems to be the most opaque and least transparent to discern. When one assumes the teacher mantle, does that come gifted with acts of plagiarism, wholesale class theft, and study guides? Absolutely not! What does it do to a teacher's credentials when "boasting of 12-hour-days of research for numerous years" is a blatant falsehood.....and the works of Stiles, Bullinger, and Leonard are presented in full transparency? And further compounding the deception is the mantle of "The Teacher"......to babes [pfal students]. Is there any wonder why wierwille targeted the youth, hippies, loners, outcasts? Is there any wonder why wierwille didn't want "his" books out there in the public domain, in libraries? He dropped just enough crediting to other men's works to distance himself from the plagiarist label, all the while taking full credit for their work [and splicing it together in a class]. Wierwille's claim to "putting it ALL together" is outright laughable. Really? Twelve sessions puts the biblical keys together for a student to become spiritual mature? How many books and seminars and itineraries did Stiles take to teach keys and foundational truths? Isn't there some 172 appendices in Bullinger's Companion Bible? Wierwille's big fat claim goes SPLAT to anyone that spends any effort of critical thinking and discernment. Wierwille did his level best to deceptively slip in the back door with a "teaching ministry." But its clearly the easiest threshold that he could cross to gain access. Every parent is a teacher. Every older sibling teaches those who follow his ways. The only scriptural credentials [apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors] would have smoked wierwille out of this deception much, much sooner. 2 Corinthians 12:12 Truly the signs of an apostle were wrought among you in all patience, in signs, and wonders, and mighty deeds. Deuteronomy 18:22 When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him. 2 Timothy 4:5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry. Jeremiah 17:16 As for me, I have not hastened from being a pastor to follow thee: neither have I desired the woeful day; thou knowest: that which came out of my lips was right before thee. Romans 2:20 An instructor of the foolish, a teacher of babes, which hast the form of knowledge and of the truth in the law. .
-
Yeah, wierwille........the cherry-picking charlatan. The guy who ALWAYS picked certain verses and skewed them to his favor. Ever notice....that he didn't harp on "greatest leaders are to be the greatest servants" types of scripture? He was cunningly deceptive, wasn't he?
-
Well, for starters...... 1) With no corps program.....there wouldn't have been a clone factory. 2) With no corps program.....there wouldn't have been metastasized bullying. 3) With no corps program.....less centralized control, less idol-worship. 4) With no corps program.....less bureaucracy, less reporting. 5) Gee, maybe twig coordinators would have walked by the spirit without heavy-handed oppression. 6) Perhaps, average joe/jane coordinators would have kept more autonomy, less dependence. 7) And, absolutely......all abs monies should NOT have funneled directly to twi's coffers. Ironic, ain't it? Some of the "great people" who influenced wierwille [of which, he commends in pfal] were people like Ros@lind Rinker, Dr. E.E. H!ggins, and others. Just dynamic individuals who loved God and followed His ways. Wierwille's corps program only leavened the lump......because the "standard-bearer" of the program didn't respect and revere the STANDARD-BEARER who reigneth on High.
-
When wierwille incubated and hatched his "first" corps program.....it became a ZERO. Apparently, according to wierwille's analysis.......THEY just didn't have it together, nor did THEY want it enough to commit. Once again, this goes back to that sister thread on *Wierwille and the Scapegoat* and the accountability is skirted. Interestingly, this whole ordeal was labeled "The Zero Corps" to put the emphasis where wierwille intended. Yet, in retrospect......some of us today might better describe it as "The Zero Teacher." How does this, supposedly, "great teacher" -- who has got the answers -- not have the answers for inspiring and motivating the "first" corps? And, even more telling is how it was publically handled so as not to tarnish wierwille's image as teacher/mog. If I remember correctly, Elena Wh!teside's book "The Way: Living in Love" [roflmao] sanitizes this episode of failure from the wierwille version. In other words, it was the one-sided-fits-all version, and off to the races we go. What could possibly have caused its failure? 1) Perhaps, the corps program needed an administrator who had experience with in-residence programs. 2) Perhaps, wierwille didn't specify the program in detail......the commitment, the boundaries, the vision. 3) Was it run with a 24/7-commitment.....and jump every time he says jump kind a style? 4) Did the leader DO the things that he expected from the students? 5) If they were told to quit smoking, did wierwille quit smoking? 6) If they were told to go witnessing, did wierwille go witnessing? 7) What about social issues, relationships, boundaries.....were these taught? 8) Was the teacher/student relationship protected from sexual predation? 9) Surely, there was a church review board to handle grievances? [yeah, right] Maybe, just maybe......twi would have faired much better WITHOUT the corps program. Thus, wierwille and co. would have limited the trustees from hiding behind the corps leadership. Time and time again, wierwille fronted "his leadership" to indoctrinate and strong-arm the policies while he remained in the background as the father/grandfather figure. Without the corps program, perhaps a slower-growth and accountability exposure would have been a checks-and-balances approach to wierwille's narcissism? Was wierwille a zero teacher? No. But after that "first" corps year when he pointed to the failure of corps individuals, he had three fingers pointing back at him. Wierwille failed them. He just wasn't man enough to admit it. Nor was he held accountable. Lies, more lies and damnable lies......and the twi monster grew.
-
Lies, more lies and damnable lies.......to conceal the evil and lusts of authoritative leaders. Yes, good people....many, of which, were way corps and/or staff.....were publically emasculated during corps night meetings or staff meetings to: 1)destroy the strength, character and reputation of person(s), 2)intimidate others from ever standing up or speaking out against other mogs or leaders, and 3)strike fear in followers to avoid like the plague of ever been in the presence of "possesso" every again. Those closed-door character assassinations were truly mind-numbing to witness. Most often, the corps person had just been ousted and was not in the room. No rebuttal. No hearing "the other side of the story." No biblical discernment by "elders at the gate" or some-such church review board. Just label the guy/girl "possessed" and every follower was to fall in line and EX-COMMUNICATE that person. Some lives were viciously altered within hours. Many marriages were destroyed. Suicide found its way to a few souls. All in the name of concealment. Just seems to me, now, that this level of venom was necessary to thwart any scrutiny or questioning of said mog. When I think of "scapegoating" in the general sense, I tend to think of blame-shifting or shirking of responsibility that might otherwise expose twi-doctrine....ie wierwille/martindale using accusatory innuendo and/or verbal attacks on the corps' believing to not stop the rain.

.....presented on a platter of plagiarism .....and served with deception.
