Naw, the corps couldn't even stop the rain at corps week.
-
Yeah......but the Lord makes His own space, not wimpy flitter-twitter. The Lord does THUNDER from heaven.

See that's the shell game.......wierwille was the pontificator. He ONLY had to speak it forth; others had to BELIEVE to bring it to pass. But since veepee invoked the name of the Lord and how he was "building a bridge" for others.... and it didn't come to pass, then no respect or reverence need be given to the man. The Scriptures have a nametag for wierwille: FALSE PROPHET Look at it in context..... Deuteronomy 18:18 I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him. Deuteronomy 18:20 But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die. Deuteronomy 18:22 When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.

A message that, I believe, the Lord God is STILL sending......to every cult out there. Purpose: That they may serve me.

The Lord God's hashtag. ........used way before government officials thought they were so clever. Exodus 5:1 And afterward Moses and Aaron went in, and told Pharaoh, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Let my people go, that they may hold a feast unto me in the wilderness. Exodus 7:16 And thou shalt say unto him, The LORD God of the Hebrews hath sent me unto thee, saying, Let my people go, that they may serve me in the wilderness: and, behold, hitherto thou wouldest not hear. Exodus 8:1 And the LORD spake unto Moses, Go unto Pharaoh, and say unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Let my people go, that they may serve me. Exodus 8:20 And the LORD said unto Moses, Rise up early in the morning, and stand before Pharaoh; lo, he cometh forth to the water; and say unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Let my people go, that they may serve me. Exodus 8:21 Else, if thou wilt not let my people go, behold, I will send swarms of flies upon thee, and upon thy servants, and upon thy people, and into thy houses: and the houses of the Egyptians shall be full of swarms of flies, and also the ground whereon they are. Exodus 9:1 Then the LORD said unto Moses, Go in unto Pharaoh, and tell him, Thus saith the LORD God of the Hebrews, Let my people go, that they may serve me. Exodus 9:13 And the LORD said unto Moses, Rise up early in the morning, and stand before Pharaoh, and say unto him, Thus saith the LORD God of the Hebrews, Let my people go, that they may serve me. Exodus 10:3 And Moses and Aaron came in unto Pharaoh, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD God of the Hebrews, How long wilt thou refuse to humble thyself before me? let my people go, that they may serve me. Exodus 10:4 Else, if thou refuse to let my people go, behold, to morrow will I bring the locusts into thy coast:

I See Dead People......going to twig fellowship 3X a week. Same faces, same seats......same format, same manifestations, same Styrofoam cups for coffee afterwards. The deadness of it all......droning on and on. Pay your dues (abs), smile, and count it as spiritual. Is that it? Is that ALL THERE IS to twi's grand production of "the more abundant life?" One would think that with $57 MILLION.....there'd be a little more oomph to it, no?
-
When I reflect upon twi-servitude and its mog-doctrine agendas......I See Dead People. Rom 7:6 But now we are delivered from the law, that being DEAD wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter. Sure.....pfal "talked a good game" and all, but we were held in a constant state of oppression by religious hierarchy. We were held captive by a faux doctrine of an absent Christ. This twi-doctrine is NOT delivering those from the law [the sin of man and in need of a savior; redemption].....but is an extension of deadness. To follow after a false teacher is the antithesis of serving in newness of spirit. Rather, its the "oldness of the letter" masked in a modern form of guile. The modern-day Pharisees in twi, the trustees, strutted around in cornfield cult-ure to be seen in the uppermost seats of pomp and elitism. How many of wierwille's "prophesies" came to pass? All of those acclaims of Camp Gunnison becoming a premiere *Believer's Campground* with a grand restaurant on the hill overlooking the Gunnison River.....and Sunset Corps couples buying into "retirement cabins"......and white-water rafting and riding stables for the campers?? Or, the grand scale productions at the Auditorium with full-scale orchestra.....and dancers.....and recording studio? Or,.......the corps program that became a clone factory and an abysmal failure? Where was the great wierwille to direct its success and outcome? Where was the wisdom to see that it had MAJOR FLAWS in its foundational structure on spiritual growth and individual freedom? Sure, we've all heard about THE ZERO CORPS......but what about the ZERO 1st corps?..... the ZERO 2nd corps?..... the ZERO 3rd corps? (etc, etc). If Christ was not preached AS LORD, then EVER CORPS WAS A ZERO CORPS!! To this day......there are still "dead people" following the footprints in the sand of a false prophet. Those mog footprints will eventually be washed away by the incoming tides of time. Those who follow a lifetime in this pursuit are as dead man walking. Whereas, the footprints of the Lord Jesus can NEVER be washed away and will always benefit those who follow in his steps.

30 years later......and I have a few questions: 1) So why are standards of Timothy and Titus for me.....and not wierwille? 2) Pluck a verse, "Here am I, send me."....from the cherry tree. 3) Why is everything, in twi, ALWAYS about the money.....up front? 4) There's that "have your need met" thingy again. 5) Even at the clergy level.....twi's wayspeak was so generic and bland. 6) Enter the fellowship of the ordained clergy household....... 7) Work harder, longer and to the grave.......serving twi's agendas. Is there any wonder why some 480 twi clergy have exited?

This letter was sent to me in 1984. Dear Skyrider: God bless you in the name of Jesus Christ. On behalf of our father in the Word and us, the Board of Trustees, I extend to you an invitation to be ordained to the Christian ministry this Wednesday night at Corps Week. It is your decision. We have made ours based on the quality of your ability and leadership according to the standards of Timothy and Titus; therefore I offer you the privilege and responsibility to enter the fellowship of the ordained clergy household. Isaiah responded to his ordination invitation (after some "soul-searching") with "Here am I; send me." This succinctly expresses what your heart response must be. In my life, I know that once I said "yes" to ordination, then I was committed by my free will to carry out whatever God and The Way Ministry want me to do. The opposite motive is found in I Samuel 2:36b, "Put me, I pray thee, into one of the priests' offices, that I may eat a piece of bread." Ordination, so to speak, became another means of just getting physical need met. Becoming ordained does not guarantee you a salaried lifetime position with The Way International with all expenses paid. If you respond with the truthful heart of this calling, it guarantees you to have your need met throughout life so that you can work harder, longer, and more joyfully than ever before in your life and serve God's people. If your thinking is in accordance with these standards and you choose to accept this invitation, please respond in writing to me (hand deliver to me personally, XX XXXXXX, or XXXX XXXXXXXXX) by Monday at 7:00 p.m. I love you and look forward to your response. In his steps, L. Craig Martindale snc

Well.......for starters, most all of their "workload" is in-house sustainability. Those who assume the post as micro-managers set in motion a plethora of busywork. Not accomplishments, mind you.....but keeping all the drones buzzing around with busywork. The pontificators need script writers, editors, secretaries, press releases, assistants, bodyguards, valets, etc. Mis-directors need area and department coordinators and conference meetings to stroke their importance. Isolation and indoctrination is furthered by an on-grounds cafeteria/meal and all the that entails. Brass rails need polishing, carpets need vacuumed, floors need cleaned and buffed, toilets need scrubbed. Probably 80-85% of twi work is self-inflicted to present a pristine picture of attention to detail.... ..... Oh, sure......they say their mission is "spiritual," but its a two-bit, low-traffic, indoctrination zone that is fueled by vaunted egos of self-importance that tens of millions have never even heard of.
-
Waysider......to be clear, I wasn't directing those side comments toward you. Having been corps and run the gauntlet.....I know several window cleaners who ran successful businesses and pulled in $75,000 - $120,000 per year after payroll expenses. One guy has about 10 employees, a private plane and is venturing into being a flight instructor. A couple of painters had expertise in several of the new interior painting fads....and making some serious money. Landscapers.....same deal. Yeah.....guess not everyone wants to sit at a desk. .

EXACTLY! All of the dots connect back to wierwille and his agenda.....recruiting brown shirts followers who'd go forth to run pfal classes and teach twi doctrine. With each passing year of involvement, one either found employment that facilitated this lifestyle.....OR..... tossed their corps diploma in the trash and headed for higher education/greener pastures. See, wierwille was just a cult-organizer. He never had to jump thru all the hoops he was propping up for others to jump. Wierwille had NO CONCEPT of what it took to obey all his mandates, year after year, while paying the bills, raising kids, attending countless twigs and meetings and classes, events, corps week and roa. The guy was a narcissistic blowhard that couldn't comprehend while people were bailing and his "vision" was crumbling before him. Same goes for martindale / geer / lynn / rivenbark. They demand that the troops jump and obey forever and a day......YET, life goes on, people grow older and wiser. Except for a small number of jobs at hq, being a staffer is bottom-rung employment. Might as well be standing at a drive-thru window and handing out happy-meals at McD's. Same deal. Unless one really looks for some form of upward mobility, its a dead end job that leads to dependency. Sure, one could laugh at ALL the painters, landscapers, window washers, janitors, etc in twi.......but THE REASON for this was wierwille demanded commitment above the individuals' better judgment. MANY QUIT COLLEGE or good jobs to go fellow-laborers or corps. And, 20 years later.....some wonder why so many floundered away 'opportunities?' Except for the likes of Brian Moneyhands, how many OTHER corps' kids went thru corps training? VERY FEW.......and that tells you everything you need to know about twi's hypocrisy!! Corps staff sit at their desks.....but make sure THEIR kids don't get ensnared.

Group Weddings: One of the points I remember hearing from wierwille, leading up to the 7th corps group wedding, was that it maximized the use of the clergy's time. I kid you not. Spiritual protocol for the clergy was TOP PRIORITY.....as was the time factor. The wedding couple? Oh, they took a distant second. Window washing: Or.....house painting, lawn care services, etc. SELF-EMPLOYMENT.....why? This stuff was being promoted as early as the 6th corps [ie 1976,77].......BECAUSE how else are you to get three weeks off EVERY YEAR to attend corps week/roa? The service industry was growing rapidly as the middle class in America had expendable income.....AND with both husband and wife working. Thus, neither had time to do the home maintenance stuff. The middle class gladly shelled out the money for services.....and stayed working at their regular jobs. Many corps did these jobs for the FLEXIBLE HOURS and the "benefit" of being self-employed. Very few good, stable jobs give new employees THREE WEEKS VACATION [corps wk/roa]........its as simple as that!

The autopsy of a failed ministry: ...Grey-haired staffers sit at desks and usher on Sundays. ...The young, vibrant and talented are few and far in number. ...Seniority and favoritism, rather than merit, is promoted. ...Scripted "teachings" are the norm and, long ago, mocked in pfal. ...Campuses and indoctrination centers have been sold. ...Outreach programs are scaled-back with lack-luster results. ...Corps sign-ups have been dismal for nearly two decades. ...Transparency of numbers and successes is shady or non-existent. ...The wierwille legacy lives on in mystical glory. ...None of his successors have furthered any merited distinction. ...In fact, many hand-picked men have gone down in scandalous flames. ...Which begs the question, "Was the wierwille ministry all a ruse?" ...The outward appearance at twi-hq still hides its deadness. ...A billing scheme, for services not rendered, is the abs-weekly payment. ...The money keeps flowing in....and the deception keeps flowing out. ...And, invested monies boosts twi's bottom line with fewer and fewer people. ...The old goats helped wierwille by masking his lack of credentials. ...The enablers laid claim to his coattails and furthered the deception. ...With each passing year, serving twi's agenda eclipsed "serving God." ...In the end, twi leadership claimed that their ministry WAS God's ministry. ...Splintered into hundreds of offshoots, the failed ministry lives on. ...Everyone has a psalm, a doctrine and a class you've just GOT to take. ...Mini-mogs are everywhere --- patterning their mog-doctrine after vpw. ...No accountability --- before, during or after -- and the cycle spins. The autopsy of twi? IT'S DOOR-KNOB DEAD.

Behind signing on the dotted line....."Natural Leadership Ability" morphs into "Obey and Serve Malleability." The corps were hammered, pressed, and molded into the shape that fit twi's purposes. The "leadership" part was simply a vanity name tag.
-
Another one of wierwille's deceptions......instill the corps program as *leadership* training. The number one requirement of a corps participant: FOLLOW.
-
Yeah....the early 80's when everything in twi was going off the rails. ....when wierwille was about to put the skunk pelt on martindale. ....when the need-basis doctrine in twi was running amuck. ....when planes, motor coaches and Harley were signature statements. ....when predatory elements were a conduit in twi's machinery. ....when *name tag recognition* was at its apex adulation.

Yes, there were some really nice limb homes. My point in posting was to add clarity to the limb home/limb coordinator reference. Many of these bigger limb homes......the REGION COORDINATORS resided there. Back then......places like New Orleans had like 24 twigs, and growing. The Region men were the big-wigs on the field......not the limb guys. Most all region men were arrogant yes-men and bullies. Ever notice how many limb guys cut ties and headed into secular work? Of course, there is a huge difference to what was back in twi's heyday and the mid-90s to now.
-
As a former limb coordinator, I would like to qualify some of the above statements. 1) Yes, there were some really nice limb homes in the late 70s and early 80s. More specifically, those limb homes in New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Indiana, Texas and Florida come to mind. Sure there are probably others, like California.....but I don't really know for sure. It was during these *expansion years* where some cities had 2 or 3 branches of fellowships.....or 18-25 twigs.....with weekend events, coffeehouse entertainment, way homes, etc. that made these limbs mini-headquarters for each state [as it should be, rather than centrally-controlled from Ohio]. 2) This period of the "big limb homes" was scaled way back after 1989....[da fog years]. With some 80% of corps and followers leaving twi......the belt was tightened to a new reality. 3) With regards to LCs "living off others' savings"......well, that's not accurate. As limb coordinators, my wife and I were designated a *needs-basis salary* just like all other staff. No special favors. Sure, we were reimbursed for out-of-pocket expenditures related to a petty cash fund, which by the way was a measly $300. If we had a need to spend more than $300 [like say, reservations for a ministry event at a hotel or conference center].....then, this expenditure had to be cleared thru the region coordinators. 4) By the early 90s, most limb homes were the average three-bedroom homes in an average neighborhood. In fact, when martindale announced for all corps to be full-time staff.....he mandated that corps live in apartments or small homes [for families]. He also mandated that limb homes did NOT need a guest room for when leadership traveled into your city. They would just have to get a hotel/motel room. 5) When we decided to exit twi......we were NOT SHOCKED by the sudden reality of *paying our own way* or anything of the sort. Again, at our limb home.....we were NOT living above and beyond anything that others in our area were living. During THIS TIME FRAME......the big limb homes were a thing of the past. 6) What was so challenging when we exited....was the gut-wrenching reality that TWI DID EVERYTHING THEY COULD TO STRIP US OF ANY SUPPORT OR NETWORK. Region coordinators and corps banded together to mark/avoid us and lie about our decades of good works. Of course, they smeared our good name and that the devil was at work in our lives...ie, we were possessed. (hahahaha) It is SO AMAZING how twi-followers are such gullible schlubs and don't have a thought they can call their own. 7) We had no real savings BECAUSE twi adamantly frowned on padding one's savings account. According to this cult......you need to "believe God to meet your need" NOT MONEY. There was nothing quite like being in, and getting out, of this twi-light zone. :smilie_kool_aid:/> .

I went to a cult....so my kids wouldn't have to
skyrider replied to skyrider's topic in About The Way
Thanks for the laughs, guys. Yeah, ole vic sure was a swell fella wasn't he? Drinking, smoking, séance attending, porno studies, Harley riding, checking all types of vices.....SO THAT WE DIDN'T HAVE TO. See.....he carried that "burden" for us, so that we could just keep our hands on the plow and do the Lord's work, day in day out. Not let that pesky devil come sneaking around and entice us to lust after the flesh and all that. And, vpw had to ask God for signs.....so that he could learn about the mannies and then, teach us in his super-duper adv class NOT to seek after signs. Well.....I, for one, am sure thankful that vic slogged thru the darkness just for me. And......I, in turn, went into vic's cult to learn the DECEPTIVE WAYS of false teachers. I had to go thru this ilk to be sure that God was showing me how this ilk worked. And, now......my kids don't EVER have to get near a cult again. They know the hardships, the challenges, the moving every three years, and the stress in cult life. My boys saw it with their own eyes.......and fast-tracked preparation with higher education. -
Remember when wierwille would say "I had to a séance to learn SO THAT YOU wouldn't have to." Yeah.....veepee just HAD to do all this stuff so we, the little people, could just obey. Wasn't he just wonderful? So giving and so thoughtful. Gee......it that why wierwille went to those ORGIES in California? So, we wouldn't have to?

Whether it was a Friday or Saturday........the stone was rolled away. And.....Gabriel sat on it. And.....the tomb was empty. HE IS RISEN. :)

THE MAN OF GOD --- Jesus Christ The Man of God For Our Time --- Jesus Christ The Man of God, The Son of God --- Jesus Christ The Man of God Of The Universe --- Jesus Christ The Man of God Whom God Resurrected --- Jesus Christ The Man of God We've Been Waiting For --- Jesus Christ ************** Victor Paul Wierwille was a hireling, at best.......a wolf, at worst. The guy was known to proudly wear his "the man of God" bracelet. The guy who plagiarized his way thru life with pompous fanfare. The guy who had a motorcoach, a bodyguard and a predatory disposition. Victor Barnard was a Corps grad. Look where that corps training took him. Yeah.....THAT corps training that focused on discipline and strict obedience. The guy got to where he wanted his followers to call him "the word in the flesh." Click Here

Yep.....one of the first strident Mogs noted in the NT. This man....this man.....this man Same in twi regarding wierwille Simon the mog-sorcerer
-
Yeah......READ THE GOSPELS and see what Jesus Christ emphasized to certain individuals. Look at the compassion, the concern, and love that he had to unburden those who were heavy laden.....or to heal the brokenhearted. He embodied hope, strength, peace, patience, etc......even the unbelieving centurian was moved to proclaim him as The Son of God. What did we see from twi's "man of God"?? ---- Arrogance, belligerence, callousness, impatience, brash, demanding, etc. Most often, these moggies were the antithesis of Christian virtue. I vowed to the Lord to NOT be like them. Forget the *stage-persona* of wierwille.......that was ALL for show. What veepee was in real life, to me, was a heavy-handed elitist on a self-acclaimed pedestal. He was the mogfot of the world.......and pfal sound clips were his spiritual pedigree. The man centered his world around himself......decades before I ever heard of him. And, he enjoined "a magic circle of forced conformity" to accomplish his works. Twi's mog-doctrine is a fabrication of their lust of the flesh.
