If PFAL was so dynamic..... WHY was it a plagiarist-one-hit-wonder?
-
"Why?" Why did wierwille do it? 1) Why patch together a cult-like organization that circumvents scripture on every turn and brings focus, front-and-center, to a man wrapped in sin? 2) Why promote a doctrine of "righteousness and right living".....and yet, secretly live in drunkenness, sexual predation, abuse and darkness of soul? 3) Why devise an organization to "move the Word".....and an inner-circle of yes-men to cover and conceal the underbelly of deceptions and exploitations? 4) Why stand on stage and sing "He touched me...and oh, the joy that fills my soul" and then, slither thru the late night hours on the motor coach sin-laden? 5) Why would wierwille, who trumpeted his commitment publically to the world, admit as he neared death that he wished he'd lived more differently, more uprightly? Perhaps......there is no justifiable answer to Why? It just was. Wierwille chose a career path that he was totally unsuited to fulfill. Yet, its perks were recognition, adulation, ease, access, legacy, etc.... He wanted the perks of the job, but not the job of II Tim 2. But....a man's gotta live and find a livelihood to pay the bills. From what I've gathered, I think that culture and background of the wierwille family played a huge role in vpee's decision to seek a pastorate. The German Reformed Church in New Knoxville and Dr. Kunst, the most revered person in the community, had a tremendous influence on young vic's growing narcissism. Vic was unqualified, in heart and soul, to pursue the office of the clergy. But.....he did it anyway. And, he did it in his own distinct way. And, that's WHY it became a work of men and came to nought [like Gamaliel noted in Acts 5:36]. It did not advance the true tenets of Christianity. It did not bring glory to the Lord Above. It was simply the works of man. And....it failed. That's why.

From where I sit today..... I am convinced that wierwille was a low-life, plagiarist-chasing preacher with psychological issues. He violated sound doctrine and perpetrated myths of grandeur to fill the void of a bankrupt soul and sociopathic disorder. His consistent Drambuie-drinking and drunkenness, most prevalent in closed corps meetings no less, was an admission of his subtle, deceiving core. And, in the end, he as much admitted that he wished he'd walked a higher road. I am convinced that twi was (and still is) a cult. The longer one stay involved, the deeper and twisted the manipulation. Whether out-lying areas have "gentle" corps leadership or disciplinarians.....the real magic and manipulation is taking place at the corporate level. Slowly, ever-so-slowly....twi monitors behavior, information, thoughts, and emotions. I still remember Bob Moneyhand's counsel to me to NOT ALLOW this Florida "believer" (m/a?) to attend his sister's funeral in my state. No compassion....no emotion for this grieving brother? I am convinced that the twi-machinery had been pumping out press releases, myth-making, from its inception. Wierwille was a slick marketer and knew the power of deception.....er, persuation. He was the best. His ministry was going to be top-notch. He was the PT Barnum and Biblical Bailey Circus with the greatest show on earth.....underneath the biggest tent on the planet. And, he was the undisputed MOG of the universe towering of the likes of Rev. Billy Graham and Oral Roberts. I am convinced that the corps program was conceived with ulterior, deceptive intent.....to indoctrinate and supplant the faithful into indentured servitude. The process of incremental immersion was the basis from which wierwille would proceed.....after his failure with the zero corps. See, trial and error was how vpee gradually learned his trade. He made plenty of mistakes along the way, but with a full-court press of adulating grandeur, every week brought plenty of activity and servitude to one's doorstep. And.....I am convinced that had the internet been around in 1970, wierwille and twi would have fallen by the wayside. At the time, the myth makers had the cunning craftiness to isolate the followers from family, friends and coworkers. The rock of ages became a pilgrimage to annually reunite in sweltering heat and sweaty tents. Youth, rebellion, and "anti-religion" were pillars to this dysfunctional array of misfits. But hey.....we were the best. The man, himself, told us so. The myth makers can no longer control the narrative. Greasespot is here. .

Not necessarily.... Having money in the bank from my child/teenage farm work, I didn't believe it was right to solicit others to pay for my corps tuition. A few from my WOW years sent checks for my tuition, but I paid roughly 90% of it. My "spiritual partners" were my prayer partners.....and those who liked to hear about what I was learning in the corps.

1) stringing chairs 2) mowing grass 3) clearing wood and brush 4) sweeping and buffing floors 5) upholstering chairs 6) food prep and kitchen detail 7) cleaning toilets and driving honey wagons 8) drywall prep and chinking corps chalet 9) hitchhike and climb rocks 10) etc, etc, etc, Where was the demonstration of God's power? Where was the manifestations in operation? Where did any twi leader miraculously heal the sick, raise the dead, or cast out any devil spirits? Talk, talk, talk.....blah, blah, blah. On and on and on and on. Yet, they wanted to clone the masses to their beady-eyed corner of spiritualizing everything? I was around wierwille SEVERAL TIMES when his outbursts fumed of someone 'possessed'.....YET HE NEVER CAST OUT ONE SPIRIT. NOT ONE IN ALL THOSE YEARS. Smoke, smoke, smoke.....drink, drink, drink.....talk, talk, talk. Not one time did I ever witness ANYTHING OF WIERWILLE in the spiritual realm. The work program of corps training was, supposedly, to teach attention to detail and greater spiritual awareness. The wierwille-shtick went something like this....."If you can't observe and maintain details in the physical realm, then you will simply be unqualified when it comes to the spiritual realm." So, the corps-shlub plods along on the "learning curve" doing all the grunt work that twi mandates. Ten years later......the corps grad is STILL showing up for corps week/rock of ages and cleaning the porta-potties. While the elite-spiritual heads teach from the main stage and soak in the unbridled adulation.

Take, for instance......The Renewed Mind class. In twi's presentation.....in listing the "four fronts of the enemy" one of the devil's fronts is YOU. See, twi cherry-picks a few verses and them injects private interpretation to pervert their meaning....to subjugate individuality and insert authoritarian control. See, twi knows best. Not you. Not your stinking upbringing. Not your conscience. Doesn't the Book of Proverbs detail right from wrong? And.....show the path of righteousness to those with an upright conscience? And.....show how the wicked are led toward destruction? And.....show how the godly man is like a tree planted by the rivers of water? Just seemed like every "advanced studies class" provided by twi took us further into a groupthink, let-them-tell-you-what-to-do mindset. .

Stringing chairs was a spiritual event. If you couldn't do it properly, then you couldn't discern spiritually either. Mowing the grass in straight lines was a spiritual event. If you couldn't keep straight lines, then you couldn't stay in alignment with God either. Working in the woods was a spiritual event. If you couldn't stay diligent to clearing wood and brush, then you couldn't perceive spiritual details either. And.....I PAID GOOD MONEY FOR THIS "TRAINING." See, everything to wierwille was to be spiritualized. Books, movies, albums, jewelry, etc,.....everything "gives off something" and you need to surround yourself with **Everything The Way Endorses.** Way Books are fine [ie spiritually clean]. Way Music is good, clean and wholesome [ie buy twi products]. Statues are a no-no......unless its a Doctor Wierwille statue holding a Bible, then of course it is perfectly fine. Sex and adultery? Well, now.....when God notes adultery in Scripture, He is talking about "spiritual adultery." You know, the kind that bring those seducing spirits and/or spirits of whoredom. As wierwille teaches, most people cannot discern this adultery, because they haven't reached spiritual maturity like mister wierwille. Why....having sex is hardly any different than sticking your finger in someone's ear. You can become THAT spiritual. Everything can be spiritualized....if you are wired that way. Everything can be spiritualized....if you're indoctrinated that way. Everything can be compartmentalized.....to skew error into "truth." All it takes is activist deception. Laziness will find a way.
-
Yeah.....but that report was several years ago. Now? I haven't heard. But it seems highly plausible that hush-money continues.

There was a time when twi held its secrets. Wierwille walked the original 147-acre property in renowned reverence. The devoted staff worked around the clock to fulfill his every wish and demand. Kitchen staff and crew served the meals he liked to eat....when he was ready to eat. Howard Allen drove the camper, and later coach, thru the night while vpee slept. Wierwille was in control.....and his secrets were tightly tucked away. As more corps arrived in the early '70s, the demands on wierwille increased. More teachings, more events, more nightowls......his presence replaced mystique. More campuses, more travel.....and young excited, bouncy women were everywhere. The motor coach was wierwille's secret world....a lusts-and-pleasures lockbox. But the secret agendas of his heart......were deeply tucked away. He was no Billy Graham or Oral Roberts....whose moral compass was firm and sound. Nope. Wierwille was an opportunist...one who looked for every easy advantage to get ahead. Boundaries were to be exploited.....plagiarism, profiteer, predator. The secrecy of his suck-sess was the secrecy of his moves. And he taught his "secrets" to martindale.....until they spilled out for all the world to see. The secret agenda, to be deeply spiritual you've got to have lots of sex with lots of women, [per VPW's revelation] was craig's response when confronted. Even Geer tried to whitewash the sin by condoning it with silence and obfuscation [pop paper]. Fast forward...... Nearly 14 years have passed since martindale was ousted by twi's lawyers (in Aug 2000). And, under the cover of darkness, lcm slithered away to a secret destination and future. No forwarding address....no phone listing.....no farewell sendoff. Like a fart in the dark....he was gone. But some heard that he surfaced....in Toledo, living with twi's in-house doctor. Nice. Secret. Paid-for residence. Twi-owned. Besides having worked at Bally's, Inc. and UPS....is martindale still getting a hefty "pension" from twi to keep other secrets silenced? .

Oh yeah.... pfal: put away your personal reading material for the next 3 months corps: put away your musical instruments for the first 3 months What is it with 3 months? Is there a psychological/clinical study that proves it takes, on average, 3 months to stifle individuality and indoctrinate?
-
And, on the flip side..... Some went thru the corps program with untapped, unrecognized ability. My roommate, Dean B. 7th corps was one of those deeply-talented, quiet types with a vast array of skill sets. He had culinary skills, watch-repair and jewelry repair, lathe and wood-working.....and, except for kitchen detail work, HIS DEPTH AND SKILL SETS WENT UNNOTICED. Sure, twi made sure that Way Productions "talent" was on display......but some of the independent, free-soul guitar players and singers weren't given any spotlight. It all depended on if twi could mold you into their agenda. Even angelic talent like L!sa L0chridge was rarily given the stage. THEIR perspective, THEIR agenda......was what mattered.
-
In 1978, three 8th corps guys had deviated from the norm of accepted twi-doctrine and put together a research paper. Wierwille was livid. At the advanced class, wierwille excoriated -- [ha, yeah that's the word "ex-corps-iated"] -- these men as "off the Word" and playing around with devil spirits. See, its always the same outburst.....from 0-60mph in a nanosecond to skewer any dissent. That's the REAL wierwille in action. How dare you usurp HIS authority on the Word! What gives YOU the right, you snot-nosed punk, to think that you can research the Scriptures to rightly-divide them? Why, you're hardly wet-behind-the-ears and you think you can challenge his research work, his pfal foundation? Heck, even GMIR was slashed from The Way Magazine after qualified men and women, some who'd gone on to Chicago to get their doctorate of divinity contributed to these articles. Gee....here I thought that I was in a biblical research ministry and what unfolded before my eyes was a WIERWILLE CULT OF PERSONA AND MYSTICISM. .

Through the years, not just here at GS......I've often inwardly chuckled at the notion that corps were *leadership.* Perhaps, it has to do with the simple elements of observation and experience. Or, it might have something to do with organizational flow charts and how corps were subjected to annual interviews and placements. But most of all.....my perspective of way corps was embedded by the man himself, victor paul wierwille. From wierwille's perspective.......the corps were the "little people." From the 6th-15th corps, the number of corps grads was hitting about 320 consistently......that's over 1,500 corps grads alone. Include the other grads, and THAT is a lot of people sitting in their chairs each and every August corps week. And, in looking out at this vast audience......did wierwille really think that all of them were LEADERS? (hahahahahahaha) See.....it's a matter of perspective. From wierwille's perspective, corps grads needed to be told what to do......they were the "little people." All that hype and hoopla of corps being leaders was window-dressing to get you into the store. In fact, if truth be told....wierwille and his top lieutenants didn't even trust corps grads to do independent research papers. After four years of curriculum/training.....the perspective was that *corps grads need to be on a short leash.* Wierwille's demeanor and outbursts gave clarity to how he viewed the corps. Behind closed doors, there was NO MISTAKING who was in charge and who was silenced when dissent was afoot. If you want to know who rules over you, then closely observe WHO IT IS that you're not allowed to question in authority or motive. From THIS perspective.....you quickly find your place and realize that you're a part of the "little people" or you exit. It's that simple. So, yeah.....I chuckle sometimes when people make reference to "corps leadership." There's mog leadership....and some trustee leadership, but nothing else. The authoritarian structure in twi was a pyramid, and the little people slaved to their detriment. "Corps leadership" is a misnomer, a fallacious representation. BUT THEN......wierwille was a Van Wert church pastor "cop-out" whose name was stricken from the clergy registry, a shameless profiteer rural cult hustler who plagiarized wholesale works of others and got his doctorate from a degree-mill. See, in the biblical scholar world......wierwille is unlisted. He didn't even mount a footnote in the HALLS OF BIBLICAL AUTHORITY. It's all a matter of perspective.

Yeah.....its a side-topic [speaking in tongues] that I referenced regarding wierwille. Although the thrust of this thread was to point out that, I believe, the class-based model was what prompted vpee to forge ahead independently.....NOT that he was deeply spirit-driven for the Lord. For me, I think that doubt and confusion enter because wierwille's practical application and lifestyle regarding the manifestations was so blurred. Yes, we see it there in the Scriptures.....but didn't see it from our leaders. Personally, I have seen the power of God on several occasions.....many of which, were days when I was least expecting it. Or, another way to say it....I was not actively engaged in speaking in tongues for it. Healings. Signs. Wonders. But I must say.....that the ritual of twig manifestations, 3X a week and/or "believer's meetings EVERY morning with sleepy, snarky wow family sure put a damper on "hearing from God." Oh, vanity of vanities. I am firmly in the camp that these manifestations are present AND available......BUT NOT THERE ON A WHIM OR 'LOOK HOW SPIRITUAL I AM' SIGN TO UNBELIEVERS. For me, wierwille muddied the waters by his blatant disregard to live with spiritual integrity.
-
Yeah......almost all 33 points align with twi's tactics and snares in some form. To me, this #25 is a biggie.....the constant drill of attending twig fellowships, classes, class crew set-ups, meetings, events, confrontational mtgs, corps, etc. 25. Constant indoctrination with a "group" or "family" mentality that impels members to exalt the corporate "life" and goals of the church-group over their personal goals, callings, objectives, and relationships.
-
Hey, innies........this article quotation is for you. "Moreover, members are indoctrinated and compelled to accept the leadership-set agenda of the group, regarding which they have next to no real say, as their personal burden and responsibility, and thus to commit their time, talent, and most importantly, their tithe, to its successful completion. Sadly, most never see past the spiritual smoke and mirrors to realize that the so-called "church" to which they have sworn allegiance and promised their wholehearted and unflagging support is nothing more than the personal "business" of its leaders, and not only are they free labor like the Goshen-Israelites during their captivity in Egypt, but they actually pay out of their own resources for the privilege of being a participant, i.e., member"
-
Twi uses classic bait-and-switch tactics to achieve its long-term objective....indentured servitude. Deceivers and seducers are multiplying.....and their tell-tale signs are on display. Hyper-authoritarians is one of those rising catch-all terms to absorb church leaders who don't qualify for that derogatory slang of cult leaders. Anywho, it exposes the same tactics, same psychological/spiritual abuse, same snares, same results...... Of course, wierwille stated that pfal grads should "put away all their other reading material for 3 months"..... Of course, twi strongly discourages its followers to STAY OFF THE INTERNET and especially websites like GreaseSpot Café. Of course, leadership say that reading outside sources might get you pozzezzed........ Really? Grown adults STILL fall for this garbage, whacked-out pyscho-babble? Yep. Wierwille threw the possessed label around with grandiose authority, after all. Wake up, people......the devouring lions are WITHIN the city gates. Click Here This article states it this way......"The proper role of human under-shepherds is to lead people to the Great Shepherd, Jesus Christ, and teach them how to be His disciples, in submission to Him and His authority. Hyper-authoritarian leaders, instead, lead people to themselves, and indoctrinate them to be their followers, in total submission to them and their authority."
-
Sometimes, I think that this bravado of "I speak in tongues" wears VANITY as its badge. Look at me, look at me! I speak in tongues AND interpret. BUT.......the other SIX MANIFESTATIONS are hardly mentioned. Why is that? Well, for one thing.....ACTION and POWER are on full display in the other six. Casting out spirits? I never saw wierwille attempt it......or fake it. Miracles? Healings? Heck, twi's directors kick people off staff who are chronically sick. The do-nothing, go-to-twig-for-30-years-crowd claim to speak in tongues.....ooooooowwww. All the while, they feed "the beast" with tithes and offerings.....$57 Million strong. Yeah.....keep beating your chest on that one.
-
Yeah.....and the bait was/is tangled at every twig since. The repetitiveness of it all, at times, really annoyed me. For a period of time, as a Limb coordinator.....I would hold meetings or events without the manifestation prerequisites [hey, look at me and how I manifest]. A couple of times, a self-absorbed corps grad would question why I skipped them. I sternly replied...."The Scriptures are the focus, and we don't need to go thru this religious ritual [twi's format] every time we get together." Even during my "indoctrination-daze".....I couldn't stomach the ritual or façade of twi-spirituality.

The Cult Circle Completed ...Person goes to roa and spends money --twi pockets $$ ...Signs to go WOW and solicits donations --No money out of twi's pocket ...Gets enough money for WOW down payment --Other believers sponsor recruitment ...Witnesses and signs others up for pfal --Free sales force for twi ...Class is run in someone's home --Free operating costs for twi ...Class grads buy twi materials/books --Again, free advertising promotion ...Some grads bring their friends to twig --Bonus monies to twi's coffers ...WOWs return to roa with a few new recruits --Tithes and money spent at roa ...Next wave of WOWs anxiously awaits their turn to "serve God" --cha-ching, cha-ching

Did anyone ever notice that wierwille did NOT want to re-do or update the intermediate class and assigned it over to E@rl B-urton instead? Think about it.....this "holy spirit field" was, supposedly, veepee's claim to fame to this (cough, cough) power-filled ministry and wierwille didn't want to go before the camera to teach its **intricacies.** In a nutshell: 1)wierwille's speaking in tongues was repetitive and contrived. 2) As "The Teacher".....he didn't want to teach the intermediate class. 3) At roa, he stayed at microphone and directed others to "minister healing." 4) Where were the OTHER SIX MANIFESTATIONS in vpee's life and ministry? 5) Wierwille went to his grave wishing he'd lived differently. THIS was wierwille's true legacy......not the polished version.
-
I do seem to remember that twi leased a tractor-trailer for a couple of years.... mismatched and bland compared to the big rig they once had. The splash of what twi once had.....was GONE.
-
Wierwille's Mystery Train.....ALL ABOARD Remember the album and promotion? When was that....1977? "The mystery train" promotion and analogy was similar to "the way tree"...... BOTH WERE UNBIBLICAL. Why was wierwille depicted as the engineer of the train? If anything.....it could at least been depicted as "the way train" and we were being railroaded at the discretion of a man, wierwille. Why not "The Christian Tree"......with branches for Judeans and Gentiles? Rooted in the soil of the grace and redemption of God's love and full payment: Jesus Christ..... See....when you step back and THINK about twi's promotions and portrayals, you begin to see how twi was filled with pompous, private interpretation that was TOTALLY UNWORTHY of carrying any banner titled *biblical research.*
-
Twi's rolling billboard......the 18 wheeler, ie The Way International On The Move was advertising what? A biblical research ministry that pointed the way toward the more abundant life. What are the TWO main takeaways from pfal: 1)the "law of believing" and 2)the manifestations of the holy spirit field. Supposedly, these two converged at points in time to give the believer *power for abundant living.* Power to believe, power to manifest to the world around us that we were unique and special vessels on this earth. Yet, EVERY ASPECT from the trustees down thru the leadership ranks was marketing material abundance.....planes, harleys, big rigs and the "biggest tent on earth p.t. barnum's roa." All that emphasis on speaking in tongues is perfect prayer to God, etc. was twig talk. You know, good for the little people going to twig and singing those child-songs. In contrast, the big boys hung out in wierwille's clubhouse and drank Drambuie....and talked about power and shiny-material abundance. Behind the mask, the double-standard was smirking. Somewhere, it seemed, like the elites had taken enough left turns that they were simply driving around the block of the devil's enticed world. Wanting to be seen of others; wanting a Harley; wanting to hang with the in-crowd; wanting to be in wierwille's inner circle. Was the trustee's believing SO SMALL that one accident, the 18 wheeler, shattered their little world? If it was okay to own it before, then why wasn't it replaced? Surely, it wasn't the money....after all, at that time, money was flowing into twi's coffers like crazy. Yeah.....by 1981, twi was rolling down the road of life alright. Just on back country roads, that's all.
