Of course, no one can predict (or expect) when the next mini-exodus will erupt in twi.....but it seems telling that they occur about every 12-15 years, or thereabouts. When I look back around the 1974-75 time period.....and men like Peter J. W@de and others headed for the exits. Then, most all are familiar with the 1987 exodus after cgeer's paper and power-grab wherein some 85% left twi and, many, were swallowed up into offshoots. And then, the 1998 mini-exodus after martindale's sexcapade at the advanced class. Yep, about every 12-15 years an exodus ensues. I know several region coordinators headed for the exits and into the secular world between 2000 and 2004 and others walking out. If I recall correctly, pan@rello (trunk guy) left in 2004 and started his offshoot, wrote a book, yada yada... Everything I hear now is that rivenbark and twi is BORING. Besides, she's got to be pushing 74 --- Click Here -- Rosalie F. Shumate How can the youngsters stomach this mundane dribble? Most likely, 75% of twi's "faithful" are hitting their 60's and like the comfort zone of petrified "research" and talking about the old days. You know, that attachment to "standing with the man of god" (cough, cough) gives them special perks and bragging rights. What else would they have done of importance? Worked in the secular world and with the devil to chase the almighty dollar? Yuck, yuck. Why.....working at the way international is the spiritual epicenter of the world, donchaknow. Deceptive vanity.....and the cult mentality is rooted deep into one's soul. Especially those on the field.......Time for another exodus.

.....to ADD more clarity for those unfamiliar with the Emporia Campus There were four separate buildings/dorms for the inresidence corps.....Uncle Harry Hall, Ermal Owens Hall, Kipp Hall and Emporia(?) Hall. Two of the converted "dormitories" were on the west side of the campus and the other two [about two football fields away -- 200 yards] were on the southeast corner. So, as we trudged thru the snow.....carrying boxes, hanging clothes, lamps, etc...now, picture about 480 people doing this [about 310 in the 9th corps and 190 7th corps]. Tromping into the hallways and stairwells.....tracking in wet snow at every doorway, and then dorm stewards had to have cleaning crews organized to clean up the mess soon afterwards. What a bunch of hooey, stupid "training" protocol.....or whatever. And, then add the caste system of corps branch coordinators supervising the corps twig coordinators who were barking orders to each corps person on what to carry and when to go. Looking back.....it reminds me of how teachers lead a kindergarten class from the school bus, across the street to visit the zoo. Make sure everyone is monitored to the nth degree.

EXACTLY. These past 15 years, in Waydale and now Greasespot Cafe, I've posted the same thing! What really bites is to see how wierwille, as the "man of God" (cough, cough) in twi was a narcissist, opportunist and sexual predator. And, no....we didn't do anyone any favors by encouraging them to join us in the swamp. To step back, and connect the dots.....and SEE WHY twi has miserably failed adds justification to all the red flags that I was seeing since 1977. Yet, I kept plugging along trying to become spiritual enough to quell my doubts and concerns to these questions that kept swirling in the back of my mind. And, to come to Greasespot.....and see how so many others have been ensnared in the same dilemma adds gratification to help others with answers. Together, we are exposing the evil in twi and the false ministry of victor paul wierwille. To speak truth in the face of evil is a good thing. And, the thanks we've received by many is enough to warm my heart.
-
I don't know if it was a "team-building" exercise......but at Emporia, in early February, each Twig was instructed to work together and help each other move everyone's stuff to another dorm room. Even with blizzard conditions coming our way, the task did NOT alter or adjust. So, on the big *move day*......there we were, trudging thru six inches of snow and near-blizzard conditions as we carried boxes, lamps, books, etc. to each new room assignment. We were NOT done until everyone in our twig was completely moved into their new room. .
-
With regards to your first question, those IN the way corps these days.....it certainly comes with several qualifiers nowadays. I mean, are staffers EVER going to leave hq and DO the corps training....ie "go forth to serve in areas of concern, interest and need?" If not.....then should staffers, like donna, rosalie, linder, etc. be counted at way corps? If that's the case, what is there....... 170 corps staff at hq? 80 field corps staff? 170 field corps not on payroll? = 420 corps who are still IN twi. That would be my guess-timate.
-
One more thing, MRAP.... At some point, it may dawn on you that being a disciple of Christ will do FAR MORE than a twig leader [why do you capitalize "Twig" and not question it, yet you question capitalizing the word "corps?"]. Interesting, isn't it? And, here at Greasespot, we help each other to spot the *blind spots* in the seductive world of twi's indoctrination. Regaining critical thinking is a beautiful thing. Glad to help. Have a good day. .
-
And, see..... THAT's why the posters at greasespot are here to tell the other side of the story, the seduction. I, too, was doing more before going thru the corps indoctrination and selling "the enhanced conformity." But in reality, the twigs (as rallied around the wierwille factor).....were slowly conforming to legalized consumption. The corps program sped up the process. The question is NOT "why do I keep capitalizing the corps?" The question IS....."why do I keep calling him DR. Wierwille?"
-
One did not share any of this.....lest the mystique of wierwille-adulation diminish. One did not share any of this.....lest the ac nametag be less desired by others. The caste system has its perks.
-
And, THAT was how it was crafted. In pfal, wierwille sternly addressed the students TO NOT QUESTION THE MAN OF GOD. Why, if you start down that road, then pretty soon you question his conduct, the tie he wears and "we get down to the bare facts." (yuck, yuck) The subliminal message was that you have NO right to question his teachings, his conduct, or his morals. So, later....at the advanced class, the mold has been set. NO ONE questions the class material. The "release groups" have nothing to do with releasing [what you are really thinking]. They are designed to reinforce and regurgitate the day's teachings. No questioning. Usually, a corps person is in charge and monitors the group. Peer pressure and intimidation are used as an effective hammer to silence any dissent. And, advanced class grads are sent forth and instructed to NOT SHARE THIS MATERIAL with other non-acgrads. The silencing and seduction continues.......year after year. .
-
Same doctrine. Same stories. Same monotony. Repeat. Add the wierwille-mystique in the mix....and the building blocks of a cult of personality was in the making. Yeah, those first two months in the corps program and we sat thru all those "advanced" classes again.....ie renewed mind, dealing with the adversary, the way tree, etc. Okay, I get it....making sure that we're primed for **greater learning** to come, right? BUT IT NEVER CAME. Even when wierwille was on-campus, it was just rehashed pfal and wierwille-heritage ego. That's why I continue to label it corps indoctrination with the end view of twi-servitude. It was a seduction in the first order. They were leading us astray from "serving the Lord" to the deceptive end of serving twi. The same can be said of the clergy. There was NO HIGHER LEARNING, OR INSTRUCTION to twi's clergy. And, in my clergy acceptance letter, when they noted "the fellowship of the clergy household"......there was NO clergy fellowship as a group. There was NO clergy household. What a load of bull-pookie. Wierwille gave a few mandates to the clergy, but he didn't teach. Nor did Martindale. They could pontificate, but vpw/lcm could NOT teach the demonstration of God's power......because they were NOT doing it. So, yeah.......the advanced class material was the canned spiel. Reading the records from the Old Testament and then, clarifying or assigning a definition to those other SIX manifestations [word of knowledge, word of wisdom, discerning of spirits, faith, miracles and healings]. And, we had to sit thru tangents in the advanced class like.....the thirteenth tribe, the myth of the six million, the Marxist minstrels, none dare call it conspiracy, etc. Agendas and conspiracy theories in a spiritual context. Private interpretation in the advanced class. Now....don't you feel good about being an advanced class grad? :anim-smile:/>/> .

MRAP....what you fail to realize in reading these postings is that, as posters, all of us have a life beyond this website. Surely, you don't picture us sitting at our keyboards all day long, year after year? That's absurd. After I post this, a full day awaits......work, activity, interaction, involvement, etc. The past abuses of wierwille and twi are posted on "the doors of Greasespot Café" much like The Ninety-Five Theses. Did Martin Luther hate the Roman Catholic hierarchy? Was Luther's posting [supposedly, to the doors of the church] of church abuses a waste of time and energy? Was Luther's mission to contrast church abuses with the heart and intent of scripture a waste of knowledge? MRAP.....you can assume whatever you want of the posters on the board. No matter. Some of us are living full, blessed and constructive lives AFTER LEAVING TWI'S ABUSES AND INDOCTRINATION. Many of us have children who are graduating from colleges with honors and moving into careers and livelihood that far outstrips twi's punitive little box of exploitation. With all that I've witnessed IN, and now OUT, of twi......I see why the scriptures give plenty of warnings to seducers, deceivers, wolves in sheep's clothing, etc. And, I hold to the scripture [Luke 4:18] that our postings are healing the brokenhearted, deliverance to the captives in twi, and recovering of sight to the blind. Have a good day. I'm outta here.

Yeah, wierwille was a narcissist, probably a sociopath. I couldn't agree more. Nothing UNMASKS THE WIERWILLE-MOGSHIP like the corps program. It was his baby, making it into the image of wierwille. Seemingly, this narcissist conceived that having *little-wierwille-bots* would be the greatest thing going in wayworld. Even when a corps man was killed while hitchhiking to LEAD, it didn't matter. The guy's believing just wasn't there, right? The hitchhiking continued. Later, another hitchhiking incident where a girl is repeatedly raped by a trucker.....the program continued. Where was the self examination? Where was the empathy? Where was the revelation to adjust or alter? No where to be seen, because all the bad things that happened were laid at the doorstep of "the law of believing." It was their fault, not wierwille's. Oh, how wonderful it must be to stand at the podium and pontificate......and NOT go out into the highways and byways of life and all its hazards. Greasespot Café is here to tell the OTHER SIDE of wierwille and twi. While some here never met the man, I am not among them. My fiancé and I were invited to dinner at the wierwille home with vp and mrs. We had dinner conversation. During inresidence, I had a handful of encounters with him. I was assigned to escort Mrs. W during major events in Dallas. Twice, I was Mrs. Owens escort at the hq holiday party and sat at the head table. So, for those who think that my postings are erroneous.....all I can say is that I've been there. Today's corps program is abysmal.....and the dots connect back to its founder Selling out to twi is the modern equivalent to "thirty pieces of silver." When Judas turned from the Lord......it was night [John 13:30]
-
I don't consider the "huckster" nametag on wierwille as the more cynical view. From vpw's own account....and mrs. w's book, his character, manner of living, and his words when weighed in the balance of scriptural integrity and uprightness, wierwille CHOSE the "dark side." In his own words, he uttered disrespect for women, for church board authority, for biblical scholars, and missionary boards. He scoffed at denominational leadership and fostered an "us versus them" mentality against church Christianity. And, wierwille moved thru the night with sexual predation lusts. Anyone who has spent any time connecting the dots on the wierwille pyramid know this stuff. In so many ways, "huckster" is being generous.
-
Why do I say "thirty years of seduction?" Well, let me name the ways..... 1) Wierwille taught pfal-prosperity to the masses, but poverty/servitude to the corps. 2) Follow-the-chain-of-command wherein vpee was "the general in charge." 3) The corps indoctrination was a discipline-extraordinaire program. 4) Where was the walk in love, walk in light, walk circumspectly Ephesians doctrine? 5) Where were the gift ministries coming out of the corps training? Yeah, right :/ 6) Even corps were reproved for "independent research" projects. 7) Why did wierwille demand the spotlight even unto death?? 8) Those in research dept could NOT stray from pfal doctrine. 9) Isolation in the corps program facilitated the mog sexual predation. 10) There was no "true shepherds" leading twi......but hirelings. 11) Wierwille and his buddies lorded over us with heavy hand. 12) The Scriptures detail Simon-the-sorcerer "mog doctrine." 13) Why did vpee demand the mogship like Simon? 14) What vpee taught in pfal, he VIOLATED in his corps training. 15) In my 24-year involvement, I never saw wierwille do ONE THING via revelation. So, wierwille stole BG Leonard's class......and ??????? He was hitchhiking thru life on another's ride.

Welcome to Greasespot Café and its vast array of venues. Many come here for a variety of reasons. The social banter of acceptance, camaraderie, and caring are chief among those who have passed thru these doors. But still, the major focus for many of us, imo, is defined in GS's mission statement: Our mission is to provide information that tells the other side of the story about The Way International and its trustees. For thirty years (30)......wierwille taught Rev. B.G. Leonard's class as his own foundational class. Mrs. Wierwille's book, Born Again to Serve details how vpw was thrilled after sitting in Leonard's class in February 1953 and returned again to Calgary, Alberta in June/July 1953 with Dorthea and Don (and a few faithful) who later were *grads* of "wierwille's" (cough, cough) October class. So, essentially.....wierwille stayed committed to teaching this material for some 30 years (1983 or so). Then, with the removal of his one eye and cancer....wierwille withdrew and descended into the final stages of life and self. For thirty years (30)......martindale, geer and rivenbark have parroted the pfal material. This week, May 20, 2015.....and what has been accomplished under wierwille-led leadership? How is that Prevailing Word.....er, PFAL......prevailing?? And, those NINE, count 'em......NINE MANIFESTATIONS as taught in the pfal-series and **demonstrated by twi-leadership** (cough, cough) and reaching tens of thousands in these 3 prevailing decades?? Thirty years since wierwille's death [May 20, 1985 - May 20, 2015] and what is twi's LEGACY of note? Thirty pieces of silver......and Judas betrayed the Lord. Thirty years of seduction....and wierwille betrayed the Lord. Thirty years of slithering...and lcm, geer, rosa-lie, etc. stay the course. Wierwille chose to lord over God's heritage RATHER than to lead the faithful TO THE LORD in all his glory. Rather than having the spirit of God ablaze within, twi has suffocated the holy spirit of cloven-fire that came from heaven on the day of Pentecost. Yeah, yeah.....vpee gave it lip-service in pfal, but NEVER allowed its full reverence to resound through the ecclesia. He heard this material from Leonard, but could not teach or manifest its strength and power to the pure of heart. That's why those who went on Staff at headquarters or were around wierwille in his corps training.....were left with disillusionment and disappointment. Wierwille had sold-out for a pittance of man-glory adulation. Those who've touted the "greatness of pfal" have never connected all the dots....to understand why twi has miserably failed. How many years have these followers sat in home fellowships and heard those "inspirational manifestations?" Thousands of times, for many. Yet, what about the other six manifestations? You know....earthquakes shaking the prison doors open, the blind man from birth able to see, angels in our midst, etc. Why has twi become so dead? Hint: [pfal] why was the dead sea so dead? Twi has become an institutionalized following. Somehow, one is able to rationalize that obeying the leader above them is "doing the word." Somehow, the incremental indoctrination is able to seep into one's brain cells and shut down all critical thinking and cower one into twi-servitude. Somehow, twi jargon and private interpretation of scriptures is able to mangle "mark-and-avoid" true meaning and give it a jaded twist. Somehow, in man's fallen state it seems to be easier to succumb to a seductive state of man-servitude than to walk as Jesus did. Thirty years ago......I remember the emotions that I experienced upon wierwille's death and, quite honestly, I wasn't all that disturbed. After all, wierwille had chain-smoked for decades and drank heavily. At age 68, it wasn't a shock or anything. He had lost an eye, was battling health issues and had become withdrawn from the teaching stage. And, having been corps and staff.....I'd seen the fiery-confrontational side of the man, not the sanitized fatherly persona. The scriptures spoke of leadership rising up to replace others, so I thought that someone else would arise to take us to greater heights. My optimism was sorely misplaced. And really, the word "betrayal" in reference to wierwille might even be misplaced. One has to break faith with, or stray from person or object to be categorized as such. And with wierwille, he would have to had a relationship with the lord to betray him. Wierwille's life was centered on self, not others. And, certainly not the Lord of glory. Even back inresidence, I didn't believe his snow-on-the-gas-pumps story. Too contrived. Sometimes, I feel like I've been out of twi since May 1985.

Your clairvoyant skills are amazing? I've got too much work on my plate to get into a nonsensical "discussion" with such lunatic accusations. What with......"vile" and "disgusting" and "despicable" in your posts. I had the good sense to ditch twi and these sort of verbal onslaughts from martindale and geer. No thanks. Post away.

Sure, I could have compared the Isis beheadings to other media coverage where "the civilized world shrugs"...... but I didn't. Innocent people are being slaughtered, brutally beheaded.....American lives, young Christian teenager lives and the news stories are a blip on the radar. My son's classmate, who was an aid worker in Syria AND converted to Islam, was beheaded. Why? Because he was an American? Because Isis wants to mock and taunt their enemy? How many more beheadings will follow before America "protests" these injustices? And yeah, hypocrisy how art thou? Pick a "news story of violence".....any story of "violence"......and step back and look at it. Just seems to me the violent slaughter of innocent lives would register on the scale a bit higher than this faux "police brutality" in the Ferguson story. With regards to the "innocent indignation" of comparing in two newsworthy stories......please. Anyone who does a fair amount of reading daily news events sees comparisons all the time.
-
That is why I used the word juxtaposed..... ONE event gets all kinds of media coverage with a narrative of "Hands Up. Don't Shoot" at NFL game, CNN, partisan congressmen, etc. and protesters out everywhere..... Yet, with beheadings of innocent Christian children..... and there's nearly a blackout of tv attention, hence.... ....the civilized world shrugs. Raf, you surprise me on this. Usually you take the time to move into a discussion rather than throw words around like "vile" and "disgusting." Take a deep breath.
-
Huh? I didn't SAY that protesters in Ferguson needed to "sit down and shut up".... what I said was the civilized world shrugs. Shrugs. Yeah........hypocrisy, how art thou? .
-
Isis is beheading Christian children who refuse to convert to Islam. How far removed from the rules of military engagement!! ....not engaged in military combat ....citizenry that is on the sidelines ....and not even men who could threaten ....but young kids who want to be left alone ....and Christian Evil is on the march. Innocent lives being slaughtered in the name of radical Islam. Yet......the civilized world shrugs. And, here in America......the juxtaposed position of people seemingly disturbed by a grand jury verdict wherein forensic evidence upheld a police officer in Ferguson, MO defending himself from assault. Oh hypocrisy, how art thou? Click Here

I'm sure it's fair to say that TWI wasn't the FIRST to pervert, twist and skew christmas carols......nor will it be the last. Twi, in claiming to be so super-duper spiritual......yet they've got to .....TAKE the Christmas holiday and pervert it into a ho-ho relo pseudo-holiday .....TAKE good wholesome Christmas carols and hijack the tune with cult-jargon .....TAKE the essence of the holiday and springboard into an elitist teaching .....TAKE the focus off the Jesus birth and highlight jot-n-tittle accuracy No, twi......you did what every other hustler has done thru the years. You think its SO LOFTY to harmonize-the-hustle to your agenda. Good on you, twi......pat yourself on the back. /sarc Anyone can do it. Gawd.....it ALL seems so pathetic and plastic anymore if you're looking for the deep meaning of Christmas. In the video, tho........there's some parody. Better than anything twi could dream of. .
-
Nope....not just an animated movie. All dogs go to heaven.... The Pope says so. Click Here
-
Well.....of course, one could make the case that it's "a relevant aside" to someone who is toxic and abusive. But then.....why stop there? Other "relevant asides" could be psychological problems, socio-isolation, child abuse, or a host of other asides. Yet....you seem to be driving the nail on this alcohol issue. But to state...."Then TWI is really all about the danger of alcohol" is attempting to nail a narrative that sidetracks from this thread. .
-
So, if you want to get into a discussion of semantics, I would take the stance that.... No, they're not. **** TWI is..... ...the founding president and his board of trustees ...other presidents, board of directors, region men ...policies and directives from corporate hdqtrs ...marching orders given to corps leadership ...namely, TWI is The Way International Past and present, thousands of followers do not *embody* twi. Imo, and in my references to "twi"......there is plenty of daylight between the followers as opposed to the corporate. But, hey.....that's why semantics is a desired topic for those who like to lead discussions into the weeds.
-
If you're saying that, for some, family members [mom, dad, sister, brother, uncle, aunt, etc] are choosing twi.....or even if they're ex-twiers and still hold to twi-doctrines.... then it IS something that just is and one needs to constantly deal with it.
