  1. emotional high............nostalgia aaahhhh..............it's yesterday once more.
  2. Is one exclusive of the other? I mean, since wierwille was affected with a narcissistic personality disorder THAT was the conduit for his actions. Whether one labels it as he "convinced himself" or "believed to be some great one".........that is not exclusionary or an aside. NPR is the core element.................... Narcissistic Personality Disorder.........[according to Wikipedia] Grandiosity with expectations of superior treatment from others Fixated on fantasies of power, success, intelligence, attractiveness, etc. Self-perception of being unique, superior and associated with high-status people and institutions Needing constant admiration from others Sense of entitlement to special treatment and to obedience from others Exploitative of others to achieve personal gain Unwilling to empathize with others' feelings, wishes, or needs Intensely envious of others and the belief that others are equally envious of them Pompous and arrogant demeanor
  3. What were the "advantages" for slick-vic to LIE about his organization's beginnings? First and foremost, it put DISTANCE between him and B.G. Leonard's foundational class and class-based ministry....... clearly, from the timeline and content it is easy to see that vic plagiarized the class wholesale and ran with it in October 1953. So, why wasn't the starting date in October 1953? LOL.........Now, that would have been too obvious tying it to Leonard. That's why wierwille had to reach back to the ridiculous "vesper chimes" youth broadcast to make his claim. Young vic had a narcissistic personality disorder that needed fed with admiration and adulation. It wasn't enough just to start something new.......it had to be proclaimed best in every way. Even though it swayed many youth, most of the adult crowd shrugged and left after taking this class. Contrived and manufactured accounting to *build his reputation*............snow on gas pumps, audible voice, black heart/white heart revelation, and the vesper chimes broadcast as anniversary date. Fabrications that fed the narcissist and his pathologies. And, mrs. wierwille the dutiful wife stayed silent and played along with this charade.......until after he was dead. Then, she set the record straight on the anniversary date .................at least. .
  4. Two things that come to mind: Weren't they in the Atlanta area for many years? Their son, chandl3r........isn't he on staff? corps coordinator? As the twit-cult has devolved into a high-controlling and abusive group........those who fly with the vultures above the fray, don't have to scurry for safety and substance every hour of the day. They get to pick and choose their perches....or soar on the up-drafts of the money than has funneled into the cult canyon from great distances. You don't find innocent little rabbits at 1,000 feet.
  5. Hey............GIRLS NIGHT OUT..........Rosie the fox, BellaDonna and Marcia Faulk.............who gives a schitt about the "greene?" Just like old times...............
  6. Exactly what I had surmised..........thanks, DWBH. Always appreciate your astute in-depth analysis. .
  7. Hey..............what's up with Bill Greene-Counts-Cult-Money ADDED to the board of directors? ~~~~~~~~~~~ The Board of Directors of The Way International Rosalie F. Rivenbark, Chairman Jean-Yves De Lisle Bill Greene John Rupp ~~~~~~~~~~~ Damage Control? ......Need "bigger guns" to stave off the R&R exodus? ......There's GOT to be reasons for it. I mean......just since February 8th New Prez Announcement ......and rozilla and rupp. What's going on? ..........
  8. Exactly......... ....... "Happy Anniversary! Let’s keep speaking God’s Word to overcome the darkness with His glorious light." TRANSLATION: You keep knocking on doors and selling our classes and we will gladly sit on our a$$ and pontificate and count the money. What a gig! Who knew that fleecing people could be THIS easy......well, except slick-man wierwille and other ilk of his kind.
  9. Chockfull, thanks........that sounds right. Mrs. W's fingerprints are all over this book....... Romantic gesture of receiving vic's fraternity pin as a gesture of our engagement......p.27 About six weeks later we eloped.....Vic was twenty (I was twenty-one).........p.27 Birth of our wonderful first child, Don.......on Sunday, August 11 (1940).........p.31 Special recognition and picture of Coramae Walter..........p. 50 Details throughout like.........Mary and I were returning home from the dentist.....p.87 Leaving baby J.P. at the Fischbachs before the India itinerary...........p. 116 Details of Don and Mary feeding pigeons in Trafalgar Square in England.....p.119 Lots of details about India host and family members.........p. 128 Etc. etc........................ Sprinkled throughout this book "on Dr. Wierwille's biography"..............is a woman's touch on impacting a family. There is NO WAY that rozilla wrote this stuff.........I mean, c'mon.....just look at her "75th Greeting Letter"
  10. Yep.......September 1, 2005 ..... to be exact. In Memorium Forum..........duh (head slap) Dorothea Kipp Wierwille
  11. Grace......you might be right. As I rethink the timeline of things, I think Mrs. W died 2004 or 2005. Here on GSC, there were extensive discussions about her care.....and how Rosalie and board members moved her to nursing home. Many thought that she should have been able to stay in her own home with 24/7 nurses and healthcare professionals around her. The discussion escalated and even J.P. got involved with writing twi a lengthy letter.....and it got posted on GSC. Then, didn't Harve Plat1g as vp in twi post a one-time response? See? For the first time, twi acknowledged gsc with a response.......it spoke volumes.
  12. After escorting Mrs. W in November 1997.............I was looking for the exit doors !! ..........my last NINE MONTHS in twi damn near killed me........... Insanity on Steroids
  13. Well.....for starters, my wife and I exited twi in August 1998. Aug/Sep 2000.............Martindale ousted and headed to Toledo, OH Sept 2000....................Don Wierwille died, age 60 2002 or 2003...............when Mrs. Wierwille died [ ?? not sure exactly, but Oldskool or Chockfull would probably know date.] No, I chose not to go to Mrs. W's funeral. Just had so much rebuilding to do in my own life.......and we were mark/avoid. Our boys were in high school and our schedules were full of activities. In my mind, going to Ohio for that funeral was "a step backwards to the past".......and all my efforts were to keep moving forward.
  14. DWBH........yes, mrs. wierwille requested me as her escort. I must say that much of those inroads were because of my wife. Mrs. Wierwille had a special warmth and fondness for my wife those early years 1971-1977. After my deprogramming experience, mrs. wierwille invited us to the wierwille home for dinner......just the four of us. The thing I remember about this dinner was the blood pudding. My fiancé only ate a couple of bites, but I ate all of mine......I didn't want dr. wierwille to confront me. (lol) Then, when Ermal died in July 1981.......the following December Christmas Party, I was assigned as Mrs. Owens's escort and sat at the head table with dr. and mrs. and the trustees. Same deal in 1982. And......at corps week/roa 1989 & 1990, my wife and I were assigned housing at the wierwille home. So, yeah......I guess that thru the years I had a comfortable relationship with mrs. wierwille. With regards to your question about Dotsie's psychosocial decline before I left.............. First, let me say...........with regards to dementia/Alzheimer's, my mother-in-law lived with us 10 years ago and she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's........so, I witnessed firsthand, for 18 months before we got her moved to an assisted-living facility, the short-term memory loss, the blank stares, the consistently asking the same question over and over again and other patterns of the disease. In November 1995, Mrs. Wierwille was engaging and full of life. My wife and I arrived at the hotel around Tuesday noon [as requested].....and were to be there until Sunday around 4pm. On that first day, she presented me with a gift.....to thank me for being her escort. Each day, Wed-Sun, I was to promptly be at her door at 6:45am and escort her down to the breakfast meal. As I remember, this was her suite......and hers alone. She was ready to go.......ready to "advance the day".......greeting believers along the way......gracious and thoughtful. Each day basically ended around 10:15pm......and my escort duties for the day were done. In November 1996, Mrs. Wierwille still had her own suite. She had slowed down a bit physically, but I didn't notice any characteristics that I would consider Alzheimer's. If I remember, a few times she'd finish a conversation with someone and as we walked on, she would turn to me and ask, "What was her name again?" But in terms of repeating the same questions, or disorientation of her room or whereabouts.......nope, none of that. She knew where the meeting room and dining room and restrooms were without hesitation. The thing I did notice was that her conversations were not as engaging as the year before, nor did she have the details of husband/wife/child(ren) as readily as last year. In November 1997, Coramae Peters were her assigned room-mate and constant companion. When we stopped to use the restroom facilities, Coramae always went with her. And, at one time, when Coramae was absent....Mrs. Wierwille had a slight "wardrobe malfunction" when her skirt was not zipped properly. Thankfully, an attentive corps girl, Nancy Chap**** stepped over and assisted in the situation. I suppose when I think back on it......Mrs. Wierwille was more abrupt in temperament and people seemed to be more deferential in giving her space. It was at this Adv Class Special, as we were going thru the lunch buffet, that someone grabbed my elbow to ask me a question, and I got separated from Mrs. W by about 5 feet......and Don Wierwille coldly confronted me and finished it off with a stare down to make his point. But to conclude..............having been around my mother-in-law with Alzheimer's......I didn't see this decline in Mrs. Wierwille, even in 1997. Definitely, she was not as engaging in conversation and such, but she still had a determined mind to meet the day head-on. And, on that final Sunday morning at the Advanced Class Special was when, after breakfast, that she wanted to go "greet Rev. Martindale and show her support for his Sunday morning teaching".........and when we got to his room around 8:15am, Craig Martindale was STILL asleep. So, when it comes to Mrs. Wierwille's book and who edited it or how much it was sanitized..........all I know is that parts of it give us a peek into victor paul wierwille's controlling, narcissistic world that somehow rings true......... .
  15. Regarding Dorothea's mental health and condition.........I have no clinical expertise in this area, but I was around her and escorted her: November 1995 in Dallas, TX at Adv Class Special...............6 days escorting her November 1996 in Dallas, TX at Adv Class Special...............6 days escorting her November 1997 in Dallas, TX at Adv Class Special...............6 days escorting her In my opinion, Mrs. Wierwille was cognizant of things around her and outgoing in conversation......especially in 1995. In November 1996, I detected her conversations and mood a little more aloof at times......but still, she sure had her wits about her. In November 1997......that's when I noticed a steep decline in her mental and physical condition. Coramae Peters was assigned to be near her at all times....even though I was there to escort her to all meetings, meals and activities. At no time, did Mrs. Wierwille ever "go blank"......nor did she take naps. She was quite active and outgoing for a woman of her age. When Dorothea went thru historical files and personal notes with her daughter, Karen............this must have been mid-1995 or so. The book was published in 1996. More than likely, Karen helped immeasurably with consolidating personal records and editing content. I have no idea who else gave input or edited this book. But again...........I was around Mrs. Wierwille in November 1995 and she had her faculties about her, for sure.
  16. This book came out in 1996..........and, in my opinion, drives a stake into the heart of twi's "man of god" doctrine and slick-vic's boastings and bloviating. Time and time again, in following "the bread crumbs leading one back out of the cult forest".......we see that wierwille plagiarized from every source he could find, then tweaked it to separate himself from the source. I am pleasantly stunned that Craig, Don, Howard, Rosalie and Donna did NOT see how this book debunks the wierwille-mystique. And then, there is not going to be a second book, a Part II of wierwille's life ...(1961-1985)... ??? Wierwille moves to the family homestead on a cold, blustery, blizzard night in February 1961...... Mrs. Wierwille has the last word......... Perfect.
  17. Well.....since mrs. w specifies two times, 10pm and 10:30pm, I would think that means two moving vans. In her book is a picture depicting one of Harry's Upholstery vans...... not a box truck, but more like a large panel van. But still.........moving in a blizzard? moving vans arriving at 10pm & 10:30pm? Imagine the grueling work trudging thru snow carrying furniture? Where were the organizational skills to get this done? So, the last moving van arrives at 10:30pm and takes 45 minutes to unload........in a cold, blustery, winter night. And then........workers/helpers need to drive home and get to bed, and possibly get to work Friday morning?? That's USING people.........
  18. So.......there you have it Greasespotters. Add......This thread and a few other around GSC....... A recap of Mrs. Wierwille's book...........now, its going back into storage. Done. Good Riddance.
  19. OMG.................Sounds like the same blunders when wierwille used intense lighting while filming pfal.
  20. Last pages of Mrs. W's book............Moving Day [pages 264-266] "Moving day arrived. It was now Thursday, February 2, 1961, a very blustery, frigid winter day. The temperature reached ten degrees with blizzard conditions. Some of our lady workers arrived early at our remodeled home to get an idea of which rooms the boxes and furniture were to be delivered to as they arrived from Van Wert. The ladies lit the living room and basement fireplaces to help the furnace in heating the house." "At 1:30 p.m. the Wierwille Upholstery Company trucks arrived with the first loads of our furniture and household goods. The easiest way to move the furniture and boxed things was through the four-foot sliding glass doors off the east porch. The brisk wind also forced through the house each time the door glided open. What a day!" "That evening we had our first fellowship in the living room in that new home. There still was no carpet on the floor, and the chairs had not yet been delivered, so the next best thing to sit on were boxes, the stairs, and pillows on the floor. Those present were ladies and children: Rhoda, Miney Shroyer, Jan George and her children (Susan, Mark, Paul, Tim and David), Evelyn Jones, Mary Wierwille (Reuben's wife), and myself with J.P. and Sara. The men were still out with the moving trucks, which were hauling the last loads of furniture. They arrived at 10:00 and 10:30 p.m." ............." ######################################### What is wrong with this? Moving on a Thursday? .......on a very blustery, frigid winter day? .......blizzard conditions? .......having a "first fellowship" sitting on boxes? .......ladies and children only at the house? .......moving trucks arrive at 10 and 10:30 PM? ########################################## OMG.................Sounds like the same blunders Geer did at Gartmore, 20 years later !!!
  21. "Dr. Wierwille read letters from various grads telling of how God had blessed them financially, physically, and spiritually since they had taken the Power for Abundant Living class. He also read the following findings concerning an adult human's memory, which concept became more deeply rooted in his teaching techniques." "It is a fact that for any given impression which the minds of one hundred people receive, twenty-five forget at the end of twenty-four hours, fifty have forgotten at the end of the second day, and only fifteen remember it four days later, and in sixteen days, practically everyone has forgotten it. Sixty-two percent of the acceptance of all ideas comes after the sixth time they are presented; so it takes repetition, repetition, and repetition." [p. 261] ............................In 1961, wierwille used constant repetition to beat the common sense schitt out of you......indoctrinate his followers.
  22. "The following is the listing of Foundational Classes in 1960......." [p. 261] January Poynton, Cheshire, England February The Netherlands ".... Covington, OH May Napoleon, OH July Arcadia, FL September Grand Rapids, OH October McClure, OH November Springfield, OH .................. "In November, Dr. Wierwille also taught an Advanced Class in Troy, Ohio. The New Year's Retreat on January 1 to 3, 1961, was again held at Mote Park Recreation Center, Piqua, Ohio, with David du Plessis as our guest. Having just returned from a meeting of Pentecostals in Geneva, Switzerland, Brother du Plessis could give accounts of the mighty moving of God's spirit worldwide." [p. 261] There it is again.................Troy and Piqua. That's why when some of these leaders dissented......it needed damage control, even back then.
  23. Probably would have showed up a few years later........since wierwille was too busy trying to keep things going and get moved over to the Wierwille family farm. Mrs. Wierwille's book only covers to February 2, 1961...........the move to Ohio, the wierwille homestead.
  24. Family Camps............... "A detailed report of the upcoming camp to be held from August 6 to 13 at the Brethren Retreat Grounds at Lake Shipshewana, Shipshewana, Indiana, was given by our camp director, Mal George. Again we planned a complete program for adults, youth, and children with housing facilities for 140 people......." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Mrs. Wierwille spends a considerable amount of space, 3 pages, detailing camp activity. In the midst of dissenting opinions and many exiting, it looks as though summer camps were some of her fondest memories. Yep, there's that August 6-13 summer camp..............forerunner to roa concept?
