  1. In other words..........this is what all the splinter groups are doing. They point to Martindale/Rivenbark saying they were (are) the reason why things went bad! NOPE........ ........Wierwille was the warden of this prison.
  2. T-Bone........when I read this article years ago, I found it to have great value. BUT......it doesn't go far enough in helping one to find his/her way out of wierwille's cult. Imo, the Defeating the Adversary class took us into another chamber, a deeper chamber of captivity.....but we already were inside the cult compound. When locked inside a prison cell one must NOT ONLY get out of the prison cell, but out of the PRISON COMPOUND........standing outside looking back at it. Splinter groups might help you get out of that "prison cell"...... but NOT outside "Folsom State Prison." Folsom Prison Blues Lyrics (last stanza) Well if they freed me from this prison If that railroad train was mine I bet I'd move it on a little farther down the line Far from Folsom prison, that's where I want to stay And I'd let that lonesome whistle blow my blues away
  3. Yeah.....I agree "self-absorbed" would state it much better. Whether young wierwille was molested, mocked and/or bullied for an extended period of time as a young lad.........would go a long way in explaining how victor paul wierwille grew up to be this sexual predator and narcissistic bully.
  4. In the process of unraveling the cult's indoctrination in my life........I hold the belief that pfal had a subterfuge agenda. The pfal class held the keys to the doors alright......and once locked inside the cult, it was hard to find your way out. Wierwille used preemptive strikes against church, family and community to sever the ties to one's support system.....and then, taught us that we needed to rebuild our support systems based on his teachings and pseudo-Christian cult family. After sitting thru pfal, wierwille closes the last session with stern admonition to "stand on this word".......whether no one believes it. And further, take this material and....."if you'll put away all of your other reading material for the next three months and *study this word,* you won't know yourself." After months of anticipation to take pfal......and the deep truths and secrets to the universe.....we were ushered into this class with hyper-sensitive expectations. It was promoted as the greatest secret in the world today. And, by the end of the class.......you will KNOW it, too. Young, naïve and searching for belonging, how could you NOT take this class? If you walked thru this door, then you'll be a part of it, too. And, if you don't take the class.....you will be shunned or badgered until you drop your objections and sit thru it. After all, everyone else seemed so excited about it. Years ago, I read this article...........The Destruction of Self But now, I understand more fully that all of this started with pfal........not the Defeating the Adversary class. The Word of God truly is a Sword ---- it was used in pfal to sever ties of family, friends, church and community. Wierwille had spent 10 years traveling up and down the highways trying to build a faithful following who would tithe weekly and become workers in building his ministry. Letter after letter, even as early as 1959..... wierwille pressed his deep desire for "co-laborers" and "fellow-workers." By 1967, at the filming of pfal.......wierwille was ready to cross the line into *indoctrination.* He gave lip-service to the Body of Christ, but did everything to subvert each one's uniqueness as a member in particular.......as he rushed onward to plant The Way Tree. LOL. And, all of that "Christ-in-you" evolved into groupthink and follow your cult leadership. It took years and years of discarding individual identity and sovereignty.......to get to the point of "destruction of self."
  5. DWBH......I have considered that little vp's older siblings had something to do with it, but not his mother. Mrs. Wierwille's book sheds light on vp having issues in early childhood and not developing as he should: Besides having this "short growth" problem.........years later, was vp molested, mocked, or bullied for being weak, sickly, different? How did vp cope with all this internally, psychologically? And, the more he hid in the woods, the more his introversion affected him.......and needed a countermeasure, an outlet. Was this the mechanism that spurred his narcissistic personality disorder? What other traits did vp succumb to in this heavy-handed rural german lineage? Did young vp feel like an outcast in his own family and hide in the woods, not just to avoid work, but for refuge [trying to internally process his psychological pathologies]? Then, by age 12-18......young vic is employing all forms of attention-getting schemes to be noticed: singing/playing a guitar in a small quirky band, crazy tricks on a motorcycle, a prankster, a bully to others. And, those of things that we know of........but what about the things that were hidden? DWBH....with your many years of professional background in this area, I would certainly welcome your thoughts. Always appreciate your input.
  6. Every class.......tethered you TO the twit-cult and isolated you FROM Christian doctrine and practice. Every class.......led you further into the cult's chambers of dependence ON THEM. Every class.......skewed biblical truths by cherry-picking verses and dismissing others. The Renewed Mind ..........you are righteous now [confess your sins to God....and boom!....you are right back in fellowship]. Yeah, riiiight. Witnessing and Undershepherding.......recruit, recruit and get them in the classes. Monitor them during the pfal class breaks, etc. Dealing with the Adversary.........the four fronts of the devil, and YOU are culprit number 1 and cannot trust your own decisions. The Way Tree........one of the most JADED classes of all. Even twi DROPPED it and all usage of the words "twig" and "leaf." LOL Christian Family and Sex......had nothing to do with Christian family, but everything to do with male dominance and SEX. With each class.......came buzzwords and wayspeak to further isolate you from the greater Christian communities. What we thought was "biblical truths and insight" was merely manufactured subterfuge with King Jimmy Sprinkle Cake. With each bite, we became indoctrinated into a cult......one cake at a time, one class at a time. .
  7. Twinky.......as you know, I gave a detailed account of my growing ire and dissent of twi's heavy-handedness and mandates in that thread "Insanity on Steroids." Like Penworks and her book "Undertow".......chronicling my thoughts and actions, and how they evolved over time is a challenging task. To my regret, I had always thought twi would move beyond wierwille and its leaders would rise up to walk in love, light and circumspectly. My optimism was ill-placed. At the local level (on the field)......we were seeing and living a different reality than headquarters. Looking back, it's now easy to see..........that I had been moving closer to the exit doors since 1994. To me, life was much bigger than twi's box.......and Christianity was far bigger than any one group or denomination. Looking back, I still laugh thinking that...... at our Limb meetings in 1994 and 1995, we eliminated the meeting/ushers/stringchairs and went to the lake. We had two ski boats. We played sand volleyball and games all afternoon.....and had a campfire with s'mores for the kids. Some camped overnight. We had loads of fun. The cult is a dichotomy............ ......when you find yourself in a hole, stop digging ......how to best help others out of a hole that they don't realize they're in
  8. 20 years is a lifetime ago...... But then, there were those who left the cult in the early 70s.......45 years ago. And, those who left in the mass exodus around 1987.......30 years ago. Yeah, of course.......I wish that I would have left years earlier. But then, I wouldn't have seen firsthand how decrepit and demented wierwille's organization/doctrine would falter. With martindale at the helm, we were oblivious of what would lie beyond the fog. Yet, even after all of this......rivenbark had NO ANSWERS either. The blind were (and are) leading the blind. And, STILL it got worse. The R&R group of corps exited LAST YEAR. ~~~~~~~~~~~ Greasespot Café stands as a living, breathing testament of personal stories withstanding, enduring and escaping cult indoctrination. How long will people keep coming forward to tell their stories? How long will there be a need for this site?
  9. I find it hard to believe that its been 20 years since I finished my final task............then............TOOK THE EXIT RAMP TO REALITY. Even though it was gut-wrenching to stay those last two months.......it was something that I felt I needed to do. In all good conscience, I just couldn't walk away and leave the whole state of Oklahoma in a mess. The advanced class grads had been preparing for these 4 weekends for nearly a year...........and were deeply committed to finishing the Way of Abundance and Power series by attending this final August weekend. [ I stayed for the advanced class grads of Oklahoma........no one else. ] As I have documented here at GSC the growing chasm of distrust and disdain for trustees, most especially beginning in August 1995 (when martindale assigned corps to be on twi's payroll full-time).........what a fast 3-year roller coaster ride! Once we signed on the line (full-time employees).......they treated us like slaves/property. I am not sure that I've ever adequately expressed the box and conundrum of those three years. Martindale claimed that he'd received prophesy from the Lord for all corps to be full-time......and that with this commitment, the spiritual growth in twi was going to be exponentially prevailing. Expect it. Believe it. We labored for 3 years like it was wheat harvesting time EVERY DAY.........14, 16, 18 hours a day. At the Limb level, it was totally crazy the amount of hours we spent each week to keep up with all the faxes and corps assignments from the trunk. Heck, we were crossing over the bridge into the "Promised Land of the Prevailing Word"......and everyone needed to be sanctified and pure from any scintilla of doubt, fear or evil. Not only were we to keep up with all the new information from the newly-embraced wap classes, but martindale would ramble on for 2 1/2 hours every corps meeting, each week. I doubt that I've ever been so busy in my life.....in getting nothing done. What a circus........with elephant man, bearded-lady, dancing bears, and six-legged goats. I have lived to tell my story.......and what a damn scam I found myself in. When I found Waydale two years later.......a new day dawned. Thank you Paul Allen and Pawtucket.........you two are saints !!
  10. Yeast bubbles............ I've stated this many times before........while in-residence in 1978, I thought it was the pro-active corps who were questioning the "training." Then, when wierwille came to the Emporia campus......during his corps night teaching, he went off on a diatribe of cop-out insinuations and slander. Wierwille's manipulations were losing steam, and he had to resort to heavy-handed tactics to regain the upper hand. But.......even though, corps didn't storm out in an exodus during in-residence training, dozens and dozens of couples slipped away (back to their own lives, families and careers) in July.......before roa. I vividly remember an incident in Uncle Harry Hall at Emporia Campus.......I had to return to my room for something mid-morning and crossed paths with a 7th corps guy carrying six or seven freshly-starched dress shirts from the dry cleaners. His wealthy Dad had set him up with an account at the local dry cleaners for weekly pickup and delivery. Of course, his Dad paid the bill on account. After the 7th corps graduation......I never saw this guy again.
  11. Thanks JayDee........yeah, me too. There is something really insidious about a cult leader who pontificated from afar........seducing others to his evil ways and raking in the money. No transparency of manner of life, the finances, or documented history. Even his India trip and those damn snow stories were all fabrications of a demented, deceptive agenda.....which opens skepticism of all things wierwille AND his glassy-eyed brownshirts. After all this, anyone who follows the newest splinter group, R&R...........has institutionalized imprinted in their brain cells.
  12. Hey.........take this class, it will change your life! At the end of pfal class.......you need to be sure to sit in the next pfal class that's available. No one gets the depth of it the first time. And then, ........ the Renewed Mind class will be running in a couple of months, followed by Dealing with the Adversary class........and Christian, Family and Sex will be running in July, just before we go to the Rock of Ages. You are now qualified to take your place on the class crew treadmill to help others......i.e. helping others means to get them to take class after class, too. So, you faithfully witness, sign up friends and family and neighbors.........little do you realize, at first, that false teachers using feigned words covet your involvement, because YOU are the targeted product. They want YOU to become the walking, talking billboard of their classes, events, camps, and advanced class specials. These false teachers (cult leaders) want you to follow them in their "pernicious ways" [II Peter 2:1-3]........loss, ruinous, destructive ways. Loss of money. Loss of family ties. Sabotaging marriages and careers........for the sake of zealously moving the cult's classes and agenda. Up your commitment and go WOW or Way Corps.......i.e. putting yourself in a position to "lead others." LOL As you keep co-joining in THEIR agenda, you become complicit in their pernicious, evil ways. If you were paying attention........you will have noticed that the cult hierarchy has dropped the advanced class cliché of reaching spiritual maturity. See.....EVEN AFTER the advanced class, you're not really that "advanced." Same deal with WOW....or the Way Corps. Once you "graduate" from the corps, you start at the bottom rung of "a lifetime of twi-servitude" and are often kicked around in a menial job at twi-hq. Like a cog on a big wheel, you may be on top for a short period of time.....only to find tremendous stress when you're on the bottom, again. You're "free".......as long as you stay committed to twi-servitude. The dirty little secret is that once you start connecting these dots, they VERBALLY ABUSE you with fear! In closed meetings, the cult uses words like "cop-out, possessed, worldly, lost his salt, loss of rewards, greasespot by midnight." How did it turn so ugly? Or, was it always ugly.....and masked to look good? Now, not only do they threaten you with words, they institute the practice of ex-communication. After 15-20 years of institutionalized indoctrination, one is more likely to succumb to cult obedience than to dissent. It's a matter of social psychology, not spirituality. How did it all get so crazy? How did you get trapped in the hall-of-horrors at this amusement park? Simple: False teachers used fabricated classes to indoctrinate the unsuspecting.......and coveted your involvement to make merchandise of you. How could you NOT suspect that splinter groups will do the same....... .
  13. Regarding wierwille's psychological deception.............all was going well, UNTIL wierwille got "out over his skis." He added a lot of Jesus and Christ scriptures in the 60's and early 70's.........then more cult rhetoric by 1978. We were never supposed to know about his deception.... He never thought or imagined that we'd regroup, discuss and expose twi's dark underbelly..... People grow up........and are emboldened to speak out in articles, books, and websites.....
  14. Hey, Rocky...........imho, neither of the two. Wierwille relished in his arrogance of power and control. Embodying an array of narcissistic pathologies, he envisioned his cult organization as the exclamation point in this contorted dispensational-theology, a perverted version of lustful "grace." And, by bringing "his keedz" to the wierwille farmstead, whatever mixture of childhood demons that haunted him........were foisted upon the rest of us in this hall-of-mirrors of his paternal german wierwille lineage. I seriously doubt that few will ever uncover the reasons why wierwille roamed the grounds at night...... That's my $.02
  15. Many of us have heard the stories of wierwille's childhood and how he hid in the woods to avoid farm work.........but Dotsie gives us earlier information as well: Mrs. W's book, page 7 ---- "Victor Paul was born to Ernst and Emma Wierwille on December 31, 1916, in the same farmhouse his forefathers had built. He was born the last of seven children: Ella Maria (born in July 1896, lived only two months and twenty-seven days), Lydia (1897), Otto (1900), Sevilla (1904), Harry Ernst (1907), Reuben (1912), and Victor (1916). Although Victor appeared to be a healthy newborn, his mother noticed after a short time that he was not developing as he should. Emma prayed for her baby, as her manner was. The doctor couldn't seem to find a cause for Victor's problem; in those days people just called it "short growth." Ernst and Emma , in seeking help for their baby, called the revered minister of their church, the Reverend L. H. Kunst, to come and water baptize him. This was the best thing they knew to do, and they acted accordingly." Also, there are stories of Lydia, the older sister, needing to "tutor" young victor thru his homework. Victor was a *needy* child........and all this pampering and attention looks like it had long-term effects on his psyche, psychological and social development. And, music was another way for young victor to gravitate to the center of attention.........page 10, "By age thirteen Victor regularly listened to a music radio program over station WLW in Cincinnati, featuring a singer named Bradley Kincaid. At that time Victor's father bought him a twenty-dollar guitar, and Victor began teaching himself to play the guitar so that he could sing and play the country-western songs of his musical hero, 'Bradley Kincaid had the greatest influence in my learning music,' Victor occasionally remarked." "After teaching himself to strum and sing, Victor was frequently invited to perform at box socials. Box socials were social events for the families whose children were attending various one-room schoolhouses. At these occasions there would be a program of entertainment, and then the food boxes were auctioned and sold to the highest bidders. The boxes were attractively decorated, and food was put in them by young girls of datable age. With no one supposedly knowing who packed the individual boxes, the young men would bid and buy them and then have the pleasure of eating the contents with the girls who had prepared them." .......and young victor confessed that one reason he enjoyed church choir was that he could "quit his farm work early on Wednesdays." (p. 11) ......."Since Victor didn't like to ride the bus to high school, he rode into town in bad weather with the neighbor boy in his horse and buggy, and in nice weather he rode his bicycle. During his sophomore year, Victor and Reuben were given a motorcycle to share by their father, and thus began Victor's lifelong romance with motorcycles. As a high schooler, Victor became quite versatile and even did trick riding, such as standing on the motorcycle seat while sailing through town." (p. 16) [Emphasis added] ~~~~~~~~~~ Connecting the dots............wierwille was always pursuing ways to get attention, to showboat, and be in the spotlight. Since he was academically challenged and lazy, so many doors were closed to him in the business and professional sectors.......so he had to look elsewhere. Thus, he spearheaded his efforts into a seminary whereby he could grasp the attention of a "captive audience" and the adulation that he craved. The seeds of his narcissistic personality disorder were growing. ........after seminary, preaching in a rural church wasn't enough. ........embarking on his own to teach b.g.'s class, wasn't enough. ........teaching class after class to church people, wasn't enough. ........filming the pfal class in 1967 was STILL not enough. ........power-grabbing Heefner/Doop movements and young firebrands, was the start. ........young firebrands begat more young firebrands, THAT started the fire ablaze. ........wierwille claimed the spotlight, but HE WAS NEVER THE TRUE SPOTLIGHT. ........the youth, and the zeal of life, were.
  16. Thanks chockfull....... So many threads..........so much information. Anyone who has a scintilla of anxiety/fear in exiting this cult......keep reading. Everything about Mrs. W's book, beginning with the wierwille lineage......OMG! are we supposed to believe that God has been waiting down thru the ages from Johann Heinrich Wierwille (1792-1889) ----> Herman Heinrich Adolph Wierwille (1828-1887) ----> Henry Ernst Wierwille (1875-1956) ----> Victor Paul Wierwille (1916-1985)..........to bestow upon us this "rightly-divided word?" The haughtiness of wierwille's narcissism wreaks thru even this sanitized edition of wierwille's legacy. But there is no mistaking that wierwille stole B.G.'s class outright and ran it as his own........and then, plagiarized from other men's works to add filler and pass it off as his own research (cough, cough). When the timeline is followed........there was NO WAY wierwille had any inkling of a "twi" or class-based system when he barged into Leonard's class in Calgary, Alberta. Again, arrogance and narcissism. Even the pictures in Mrs. W's book.........show that wierwille was a nobody, a back-bencher around other men of the cloth. And, Dr. Williams the president of the All-India Federation of National Churches AND pastor of the St. Paul's Hindustani Church in Byculla, Bombay AND strict devotee of Indian history........was host to the wierwilles during that India itinerary. Dr. Williams is the one who opened ALL THE DOORS and gave vpw access into the Jain Convention, where this western Christian (wierwille) was granted a 20-30 minute teaching in a week long festival. Yawn. How many of them would even remember his name? How many of them took this as an opportunity to go use the restroom? Dr. Williams translated for vpw. Wanna bet that out of respect for Dr. Williams the American got to even speak at all? All of the boasting and pontificating that we had heard all those years in the cult. Wierwille was a piker and a fraud. The only reason to keep this site going..........is to SET THE CAPTIVES FREE and WARN OTHERS. ~~~~~~~~ Outreach beyond vpw's congregation The Wierwille Legacy.....Who will write the book? Twi began its independent undertaking on December 19, 1957 Self-Referential Greatness
  17. In December 1957.....when wierwille started his independent undertaking of The Way, Inc., he was stumbling into the unknown. For 10 years (1957-1967), wierwille drove from city to city teaching B.G. Leonard's class, The Gifts of the Spirit, to mostly church people. By teaching 9-12 classes a year, wierwille was reaching an estimate of 200-275 new people each year. Yet, in 1960......the Troy/Piqua followers wanted vpw to move his operation from Van Wert to their area, NOT the wierwille farm. So, when Vic and Harry decided that the wierwille homestead was going to be the new headquarters of twi........a Troy/Piqua exodus was their response. Wierwille ran class after class in the 60's..............and the percentages of who committed to wierwille's "ministry" were dismal. Notice: Neither vpw or mrs. w document any signs, miracles or wonders from God during these early-to-mid 1960s. They have to reach back to the India trip or Van Wert days to fabricate anything of substance that would indicate the working of holy spirit. Seems like 1960-1967.........wierwille was in the wilderness [until the filming of pfal]. The filming of pfal in 1967 was wierwille's attempt to stay relevant. Wierwille NEEDED a steady stream of money (tithing)......or else, failure was imminent. This new pfal class was designed with a subliminal, subterfuge agenda.......to strip new students from their family, church, higher education and community and set up a new cult family. All of the support systems were to be undermined and eliminated.....and replaced. No, wierwille did not have some devious master plan behind this........just a narcissistic appetite that needed fed and the exploitation of the youth was a means to that end. Was wierwille planting a garden? Nope. Wierwille was planting a cult........one deceptive weed at a time.
  18. Absolutely.........and Amen. Else......we wouldn't have connected all the dots and how wierwille chose to lord over God's heritage RATHER than to lead the faithful TO THE LORD. Thread after thread.......we expose this. Wierwille stole it and ran with it
  19. The evangelists and pastors have disappeared, here: but we get miracle workers and healers instead, and great "helping and managing" gifts (as described in another version). This bunch of people never got a mention in Wierwillian theology. Wouldn't fit on the pentagon, I suppose. (Maybe you'd need a double pentagon?) Aha! Two pentagons! Established!! (well ... something's established!) In 1978, 1979..........wierwille DID mention those with gifts of helps, organization and "governments" at those after-corps-night meetings and/or staff meetings at hq. There were several clergy at hq who were ensconced at twi for years........and wierwille spoke up on their behalf. I specifically remember it, because some had questions why people like Mark Gluck!n, Claudette R0yal and others were *permanent fixtures* at hq and not on the field. Once we entered into the 1980's........I don't remember wierwille or anyone else ever mentioning this again. .
  20. Twinky.......I totally agree with you on that aspect. In the wider Christian world, vpw was nonexistent. He plagiarized other men's work and cherry-picked scripture to twist and plant a hybrid crop of wierwille-doctrinesque theology. In terms of large-scale, wierwille wasn't even a pimple on a flea on an elephant. But..........as you so elaborated above, the damage this cult did to one's heart, soul and mindset was extensive. Ten years in a daze......confusion, hurt, broken, anguish.....is a swath of life that you should have not entered. THAT is why I believe in the mission of Greasespot Café: to tell the other side of the story. This site may not be a Christian-site......but there is sure a lot of compassion and healing going on. What is the worth of a soul? We know from scripture the answer to that. How many hundreds, thousands even, have come to GSC to glean what they needed to be delivered from burdens, wounds or a broken heart? As WordWolf notes often.........the fact that scores and scores of people have left GSC is great! They've moved on. They are the success stories. This site continues to sound and expound a warning shot to those who were sucked into the vortex of a cult, or might be. Our purpose is clear. Our results are profound. I like being a part of this G-team. God Bless you, Twinky.........I find your life's story compelling and marvel at your incredible ministry of service to others. You are a gem. Your deep compassion and fortitude to "hit the streets" to minister to others is remarkably inspiring. You are truly one of God's treasured servants.
  21. Yeah, I suppose.........."huge dimensions and consequences" is all relative to one's life and experiences. I don't know.......I guess when I consider abuse, spiritual, sexual or otherwise, it seems like a huge deal to me. Considering a ballpark figure of some 50,000 people taking pfal, and maybe 9,000 going WOW and having their lives upended or worse, and thousands of corps being indoctrinated by a cult.......leaving in its wake, rape, abandonment, stress, anguish, divorce, suicide and/or assault.........those seem like "huge dimensions and consequences" to me. I wonder why 17,866 people have, at one point in time, signed on to be a member of GSC........and, most of all, want to post their thoughts and opinions. Sure, I get it..........wierwille was a small-time piker in a little Ohio hamlet, but the confluence of timing, technology and youth amplified his cult teachings and spiritual abuse in many parts of the world. He was definitely no "empty paper bag."
  22. Every time I consider and review the wide-ranging aspects of Narcissistic Personality Disorder, as it relates to wierwille..........it is stunningly accurate. Narcissistic personality disorder Narcissistic personality disorder (NPD) is a personality disorder with a long-term pattern of abnormal behavior characterized by exaggerated feelings of self-importance, an excessive need for admiration, and a lack of empathy. Those affected often spend a lot of time thinking about achieving power or success, or on their appearance. They often take advantage of the people around them. The behavior typically begins by early adulthood, and occurs across a variety of social situations. When I think back on staff meetings, after-corps night meetings, night owls, sharings, etc..........wierwille always viewed his German heritage, his wierwille lineage, his New Knoxville church with Dr. Kunst, and his masters/doctorate degrees of excellent and supreme caliber. Everything his daddy bought was....."the best." Boastings and exaggerated expressions of self-importance were excessive. When I came back to hq from my deprogramming experience......I was summoned to meet with wierwille in his motor coach. He had reviewed my typed summation of this 10-day experience and wanted to include it in his By The Way articles for the St. Marys Evening Leader. Not once, did he show empathy towards my ordeal, or mental state......nor did he offer to pray for or with me. He immediately wanted to dive into the details of my account......when I look back and think about it, he wanted to take advantage of this event and add credence to the *us versus them* mantra (i.e. those in twi are righteous and vilified for it). And......his "personal prophesy" to me did NOT come to pass. Here Yep.....these "all 9" align with wierwille: Grandiosity with expectations of superior treatment from other people Fixated on fantasies of power, success, intelligence, attractiveness, etc. Self-perception of being unique, superior, and associated with high-status people and institutions Needing continual admiration from others Sense of entitlement to special treatment and to obedience from others Exploitative of others to achieve personal gain Unwilling to empathize with the feelings, wishes, and needs of other people Intensely envious of others, and the belief that others are equally envious of them Pompous and arrogant demeanor
  23. Thanks, DWBH............ I always look forward to your posts. Yes, wierwille was a bumbling, stumbling, rumbling opportunist that was looking for something, anything that would give him a new shtick of relevance. When I posted about the "climb of power" and the summit of control over others..............that, in no way, credits wierwille. His narcissistic pathologies held sway over any measurable thought or character. The guy's narcissism, undiagnosed and unchecked...........left thousands abused, wounded and/or destroyed. A grifter and opportunist scheming to ease his way thru life........not an honest day's pay.
  24. Wierwille continues to be a polarizing figure of huge dimensions and consequences......as another generation of youth are indoctrinated by cult elders. Some view his life and "ministry" on par, or greater, than biblical prophets or apostles. Others have documented accounts of wierwille as a sexual predator, deceiver and opportunist. Few, it seems, have moderate views of the man. Of course, twi-headquarters and splinter groups, hold a superlative opinion of "Dr. Victor Paul Wierwille." They have a vested and profit-making interest in cheerleading his legacy. Splinter groups have little relevance without clinging to the wierwille brand and all that he taught. I tend to see wierwille in terms of his narcissist pathologies to acquire power and dominance over others. It was only after he had "cornered the market" of stolen and plagiarized work from others that his "ministry" came to the fore and he made greater strides of controlling others. Dependence on twi was the alpha and omega.........not independence. Everything in the cult is a sequence..........of followship. Not once in all my years in twi did any leader encourage me to "go to the Lord in prayer." Every cog in the twi-machine functions on OBEDIENCE TO WIERWILLE-DOCTRINE..........not biblical authority. To study the effects of wierwille's cult...........one needs to analyze the evolution of wierwille. I submit my thesis........ The Six Stages of Wierwille's Climb to Power The Unfulfilled Pastor..............church pastor in Payne (1941-1944) and Van Wert, Ohio (1944-1957).......restless and unfulfilled. The Searching Opportunist......traveling to seminars, retreats, and church camps looking for direction and opportunity to advance. The Plagiarizing Teacher.........starting December 1957, wierwille is now unhindered from church boards to plagiarize and teach others' work. The Ensnaring Supplanter........filming pfal in 1967, vpw uses preemptive strikes against family, church and community to entrap followers. The Usurping Authoritarian......wierwille power-grabs movements (Way West/East) in 1969-1970 and operates with stealth & subterfuge. The Pinnacle Cult Leader..........5 corps training campuses embody isolation, immersion and indoctrination --- to teach and recruit others. Base Camp...........scripture and homiletics training. From this starting position, wierwille could always rely on his "supplies" to climb greater heights. Who doesn't want to hear about God's love, abundance and power? Who doesn't thirst to know that a Merciful God will bestow health and prosperity to them and their family? Who doesn't hunger to know that a Righteous Heavenly Father will guide them thru life and into eternity? With homiletics training, vpw was adept at uplifting many who heard his sermons. But.............church was confining. And, wierwille was a man on the move. Clearly, his seminary classes and life's experience were limited. He needed to learn more, much more.....to advance his thinking beyond its confinement. His narcissism wanted to stretch its legs........and, besides, every seminar or retreat that wierwille attended gave him the opportunity to get out of Van Wert. Did it also give him opportunity to see other women? Probably. Wierwille was a man who didn't like boundaries. In the late 60s, he headed to California to check out the orgy action in Haight-Ashbury, didn't he? Yep. And, in 1953..........B.G. Leonard's class, The Gifts of the Spirit, changed wierwille's life and trajectory. It was THE ROPE that aided wierwille to climb higher, much higher. After leaving the Van Wert Church in December 1957.......wierwille, the plagiarizing teacher, hit the highways month after month to teach "his" foundational class and pay the bills. He not only needed students........he NEEDED faithful people to tithe to his fledgling work. From 1958-1967, wierwille was a one-man show........teaching classes, city after city. Wierwille's class and marketing strategy was to reach church people. What he didn't seem to grasp.........is that nearly 85-90% of these students went BACK to their churches and communities. They were not looking to be transformed or transplanted into twi-servitude for a lifetime. Mrs. W's book, Born Again To Serve, documents years of classes and confrontational letters that wierwille sent out at certain points of frustration. The Troy believers launched a mass exodus in 1960 when vpw and harry voted to move the Van Wert Headquarters to the family farm. They believed that the wierwilles could not be trusted in keeping the finances separate from the farm and The Way, Inc. The filming of the 1967 class...........had a subterfuge agenda. What was this new hidden objective? To entrap new students into his organization by destroying their old support systems of family, religion and community........and erect a new system, a spiritual family that replaced their "earthly family." In essence: A Cult. Add lots of homespun stories........intermix ridicule of church denominations......then, demand that all students ---- "stand with the ministry that taught them the Word. Having done all, STAND." Oh, and just write the teacher. Make sure to come visit the farm. See the wierwille barn. Meet "Uncle Harry" and "Aunt Sevilla" and have lunch in the Ecumenical BRC basement. Cult Warning: The agenda is to replace your "earthly family" with this NEW spiritual family, the Household of God. In 1969.........wierwille's narcissism flares up big time when Heefner and Doop [Way East and Way West] are pulling in MORE students and growing exponentially. According to Doop, he and wierwille had an agreement that 15% of all tithes would be sent to headquarters and the other 85% would stay in the area. [I will look for that GSC-information for confirmation.] So, what does wierwille do? He goes into their statewide meetings and power-grabs the movement. The Usurping Authoritarian HAS to be the Top Dog of the Show. Wierwille NEEDED young ministers and firebrands to advance his climb to power. The Corps Training Program was the final act of betrayal by wierwille. It will always entail "The Zero Corps"...........the ones who would NOT commit to wierwille's demands. Though wierwille turned the reins of this program over to others, he was always hiding in the shadows to plunder the youth. Spiritual abuse was part and parcel to its methodology. It was subtle and deceptive and devious. For years, wierwille traveled on his motor coach to these corps campuses and preyed upon these young, innocent corps girls. When he summoned the unsuspecting girl, she had no idea what was about to happen. The cult leader had reached his pinnacle of power over others. He was "untouchable." This 58 year-old sexual predator made sure that he had consumed several cups of Drambuie coffee so that he was well liquored up for these late night sexual romps. With absolute power over others..............wierwille had reached his summit and fulfilled his narcissistic pathologies. ~~~~~~~~~~~
  25. Exactly................"people wouldn't stick." This is well documented in Mrs. W's book as she details a list in 1958, 1959 and 1960 of wierwille's pfal classes in various cities. When you consider the hundreds of people who sat thru his classes each year (1957-1967)........the question becomes, "What happened to all these people who, having heard these truths taught live by Dr. Wierwille (cough, cough), were supposed to commit their lives, effort and money toward word-over-the-world twi servitude?" Apparently, they didn't see -- 1) power or 2) abundant living.........as highlighted in its promotion. So......when vpw films the class in 1967, what does he do? He adds and augments certain preemptive strikes against the denominational churches. Wierwille not only wants his new students to sit thru his series of classes, but to stick with him. He demonizes church elders and their motives.......to guilt and shame anyone who, having taken pfal, would even think of going back to their church. With each passing year, the rhetoric escalates.........until vpw and others were teaching that denominational church hierarchy have the seed of the serpent. Egads! The level of hyperbole and accusations was absurd. Then, once you attend the "advanced class".......you hear about the Illuminati, the Thirteenth Tribe, Marxist Minstrels, None Dare Call It Conspiracy, Seed of the Serpent, etc......you're indoctrinated into the inner sanctum and servitude. Add......a year or two of going WOW, or Corps Training and you become absorbed into the cult blob. Leaders over leaders over leaders......each following orders of next higher (or lower) unit. As a leaf on a mighty tree (LOL).....you give respect to the twig leader, branch, limb, and trunk leader. Seems like more and more.......you are getting closer and closer to the dirt. Then, work on staff AT THE ROOT.........now, you've gone underground. Wowsers!!! It seems clear to me that wierwille took stock of all those pfal students LEAVING HIM IN THE 60s.............and struck out on a subterfuge agenda. What was this new hidden objective? To entrap new students into his organization by destroying their old support systems of family, religion and community........and erect a new system, a spiritual family that replaced their "earthly family." In essence: A Cult. Wierwille needed to separate these young students from their support systems for longer and longer periods of time. Not just a three week class.......else, they go back to friends, family and work/education. Start summer camps......like the churches do, but for the purposes of building an *us versus them* mentality. Later, add WOW program......and then, the corps program. The youth are malleable and fall prey to indoctrination. The corps program was a multiplier in wierwille's climb to power: 1) Isolation of these "training centers" gave twi the availability, time and power over the individual without outside interference, and 2) Conformity to be obedient and follow "elder" corps established a pecking order that permeated the campus and fed the egos of even the most inept "elder" corps. In the end..........it all came tumbling down. Lots of reasons, I suppose......but the youth grew up and real life responsibilities, decisions and motivations were staring them in the face. Who has the means to give "volunteer services" to twi for a lifetime? Why? Why is this opportunistic cult hoarding millions? Where is this power and abundance that wierwille taught? Everyone is selling soap........and it's all being washed down the drain. The whole damn thing was a scam........as wierwille took every opportunity to advance himself into the spotlight. It's a scam...........and that's why "people don't stick." .
