  1. So.....wierwille tried it out, he and mrs. lived in the corps chalet for awhile. And, my good friends -- a 7th corps couple stayed downstairs in that side bedroom to assist the wierwilles. After several months passed......wierwille didn't like living there. He wanted to return to his house by the BRC....and the familiarity of all that. BUT......he outed the way corps when he handed it over to lcm, donna and one child. Wierwille did it. Wierwille lied. And again, no board guy stood against him. Lcm and donna simply accepted what wierwille offered. After all, they were stepping into a position at the height of twi notoriety. Imo, wierwille sold the way corps down the river.....and the corps became little more than slave labor. Besides, the ministry was about WIERWILLE.....not the corps (and others) who helped build it.
  2. (clearing throat) ... Amazing grace...how sweet the sound, that saved a wretch like me. I once was scum and ohh, so dumb, Twas duped....but now I see.
  3. LAWSUIT..... Capital...L Capital...A Capital...W Capital...S Capital...U Capital...I Capital...T LAWSUIT :)
  4. Yeah.....endless "correcting" or tweaking by wierwille to slip in his "ownership" (making it his own) of the poem, the hymn, the pfal class, etc. The pattern was set. Why should wierwille have been upset that martindale started TWEAKING wierwille's work....??????? After all, lcm was groomed after the wierwillian mold. And eventually....the floodgates broke thru with lcm's newest doctrine......."the present truth." With this seductive premise.......now, martindale could change twi doctrine at a whim.
  5. Damn-straight......wierwille told the corps, month after month, that The Corps Chalet was for way corps use. The whole structure was built with an open concept.......big kitchen area, fireplace setting, the wrap-around upper deck, etc. All of this with way corps having a place to fellowship....and 4 "corps-tels" on the west side. Wierwille flat-out betrayed us......
  6. Thanks WW So much for the "corps poem".....and wierwille's slicing and dicing of others' material.
  7. Ironic.....isn't it? Wierwille's implementing of the corps program.......to further the "ministry." Wierwille's focus to discipline each corps person.....to go forth for the "ministry." Wierwille's corps principle #3......to bring in monies and further his "ministry." And yet, the corps poem stated....Not ancient walls or ivory-mantled towers, where dull denominations rule with heavy hand believers' deeply springing powers, etc. etc. What a paradox....twi became the self-serving rulership that it (seemingly) detested.
  8. Yeah, sprawled out........"the ministry" was top priority. When wierwille came to Gunnison to be at our graduating corps week, one of those nights we had a campfire night owl. With grandiose building plans for Camp Gunnison.....wierwille spouted for about an hour of an overlooking restaurant near the water tower, a larger bridge across the gunnison river, more cabins and way-retirees living out their golden years. The ministry...the ministry...the ministry. Even at the time, I thought it was so wierwillish. I mean, it WAS our completion of four years of "christian" training.....and we were moving on with OUR lives. Little did I know......in a few short years, wierwille would be in his grave. And, all those grandiose "visions" of his fell to the ground and buried with him.
  9. It's been awhile since I read that section on I Timothy 3.......qualifications of a faithful minister, an overseer. But I do recall how this chapter delved into proven ability, godly compassion, a faithful husband, good example to his family, behavior patterns, not a striker, not lashing out, etc. Is there such a thing as an "on-again, off-again" true minister...???
  10. Scum I was.........but ain't no more. Kinda like a pot of tea.....it takes tea bags to start the process. Those scum bags....the corps director & coordinators started it.
  11. Well............"a part of him that meant it" doesn't even put him in the ballpark of qualifying as God's minister or overseer. The "many parts of him" that were spent lusting after the flesh, and the lust of the eyes and the pride of life...... consumed his good intentions, imo. Vpw should have been sitting in the church pews and heeding many of his plagerized sermons.
  12. The way corps went full-time from August 1995 - October 1998. By March/April of 1998, the bot finally realized that having all corps on payroll was not working out.....and shortly thereafter, made an announcement on corps meetings.....giving corps a few months to make adjustments, find jobs, etc. Of course, the bot sidestepped the "revelation to craig" concept and simply tried to throw a curve and say that the time was ripe to move in another direction. For clarity.......P. Allen confronted lcm in Feb/Mar of 1999 and left staff and started Waydale. After this incident, one could say that "the Allen case was looming."
  13. I'd say that sounds strikingly familiar with pfal/twi. :)
  14. The way is a cult and subscribes to a wierwillian interpretation of the scriptures. A follower of twi, and many of its offshoots, is filled with pride and manifests an elitist attitude towards other christians. All activity and monies are to further the group's efforts and isolation from family and community. You are welcome at the way......as long as you stay and do what you're told. :)
  15. jardinero......thanks for posting this. Isn't it rather bizarre that a "christian ministry" did not inform us that twi's founding president was very ill and diagnosed with cancer????? Did they NOT want us to find out that wierwille had cancer?? Did they want us to think that wierwille had strong believing?? Did they NOT want us to see the fallacy of cancer being a devil spirit?? Or, that the "mog" was walking in darkness and therefore, didn't receive God's deliverance...?? Just another twist in the twilight zone of this cult.
  16. Linda.......I vaguely remember this meeting as well. But surely.........wierwille was deceiving himself if he thought for one minute that ONE or TWO meetings would solve deeply-embedded doctrinal/practical errors. Surely, he would know the Scriptures of how men of God, prophets, stood in the gap and interceded for God.......month after month, year after year. Surely, wierwille would have known that if the trustees were deceived that it would permeate the whole ministry. And yes, I remember very well all those ministry events in 1982, 83, 84.......the High Country Caravan rehearsals and showings at the New Bremen Cultural Center. I remember the Ambassador One flights bringing folks into hq from the field. I remember Sound Out '84....and how VPW and Mrs. were in the spotlight day after day and he was "so proud of his kids in Way Productions to be performing at the Grand Ole Opry" (the fulfillment of a long-awaited desire of vp's). Then, the preparations for a motorcycle caravan from Ohio to Montana to Canada and back....with Elena Whites1de accompanying wierwille's motor coach and documenting the trip for a Way Mag article. Yes, another way mag with wierwille on the cover. I remember these things and how these all-consuming events were the thrust of wierwille's agenda. I remember seeing wierwille on stage at Corps Week 1984......overseeing the ordinations. He was given the podium and main stage on this night of nights, in front of the "entire" corps and clergy household. Wierwille had command of his faculties and could have blistered our ears with confrontaion if he had wanted to. But.........CONFRONTATION, the kind where "the Lord speaks via his mighty men".......??? No. Not hardly. The silence, for the most part, was deafening. The twi machinery just kept on rolling.......and the business of selling twi programs, tapes, classes, and publications was the order of the day. But then.......why should I have expected wierwille to rise to the occasion when he had wallowed in sin for decades..........???????????????? Silly me. :)
  17. Interesting.......the way you stated that GJ........"trying to help the culture of corruption that he perfected stay alive and undetected." So like, in a way vpw "confronts" a few things......but he doesn't really CONFRONT the root of issues and expose the way facade that vp instituted...???
  18. ex10......your points were very clear. Sorry if I implied otherwise. I agree with you. No, vpw didn't meet the basic qualifications for a "minister" that governs other Christian organizations. No accountability, no wise counsel or dialogue from an official board of directors. Thanks ex. I always look forward to your input.
  19. Linda Z, You state several good points. Makes me think that wierwille's propounding that "the trustees had their ear next to the heart of God" came back to bite him. Once out of the trustee spotlight.....he was history. And, those 1980-81 corps night teachings......those literal translations according to usage (in Romans)...... were, mostly, worthless. Maybe others talked him into getting this stuff on tape for future University of Life promotions.......but sheeesh, what a waste of hundreds of hours. Could wierwille had been MORE VAGUE when he confronts with "needing to get back to 'the Word'"....????? What the h... does that mean?? Under wierwille's leadership........the cistern was broken, holding no water. And, no twi leadership had the wherewithal to find the "fountain of life." Wierwille's lifelong work (cough, cough).......was crumbling shortly after his death. IMO, it signifies that his work was "of man." Acts 5:38b, 39... for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will come to nought: 39 But if it be of God,ye cannot overthrow it: lest haply ye be found even to fight against God.
  20. ex10, Being at hq, on staff, during this time frame........and seeing wierwille turn the reins of "his ministry" over to craig seemed more like a corporate move rather than a ministry. Like, the ceo steps down and retires...... and takes extended vacations lavished with money and excesses. Then.....seeing wierwille distance himself from craig and avoid confrontation?? If he saw all this stuff manifesting itself it twi [as cgeer writes in POP]....then why run and hide?? Why such a spineless approach to taking care of the Lord's work?? If wierwille saw the twi ship sinking.......why didn't he confront the trustees?? One year after his death, twi is in shambles..........??????? So then, keep wierwille on a pedestal as a great man of God.....?????? Not quite like Stephen (in Acts) taking a stand with his dying breath and seeing the Lord Jesus standing on his behalf.........?? Not even in the same ballpark. Forget comparing vpw to Paul, or Timothy, or Stephen, or Barnabus, or ______ (fill in the blank). IMO, wierwille could not have done anything more spineless than run to gartmore. Whatever vpw saw in cgeer, was immeasureably misplaced.
  21. This topic has probably been addressed before, but I would like to revisit this time frame of 1981-1985 to get some different perspectives on this subject. 1981........Wierwille selects martindale as his successor, the president-elect of twi. ...............Wierwille ordains cgeer and sends him to europe and ample responsibility. ...............Martindale is fronted more and more at major teaching sessions. 1982........Living Victoriously is the main focus. Teachings, preparations, tents, student body, etc. ...............Wierwille puts mantle on lcm and twi stands to give oath of support. ...............Vpw gets his motorcycle and adulation for "40 years of service." 1983........Martindale takes center stage and wierwille steps aside. ...............Ambassador One flights, Word in Culture promotions, Way Productions highlighted. ...............Martindale travels around in motor coach. Several itineraries. 1984........Sound Out '84 at the Grand Ole Opry. Wierwille and Mrs. take spotlight. ...............ROA '84 was peak of twi attendance. Corps and clergy swelled the ranks. ...............HQ auditorium building underway. Loads of promotions. Five campus locations a-buzzing. ...............Wierwille goes on ministry-motorcycle tour and stays away from hq. 1985........Martindale gears up for Athletes of Spirit production. Wierwille goes to Emporia to teach on "The Seven Characteristics of a Faithful Minister".....saying later, that hq wasn't ready to hear his teaching. ...............Wierwille is dealing with his eye surgery/problems. Auditorium is in latter stages of construction. ...............Wierwille teaching on "The Hope".....his final teaching at a SNS. ...............Wierwille, in his final days, runs off to meet Cgeer for "private comfort & benediction." ...............Wierwille dies of cancer on May 20, 1985. If wierwille had been an apostle........why didn't he shed NEW LIGHT for twi to see and adhere? If wierwille had been a prophet..........why didn't he CONFRONT and EXHORT a turning back to God? If wierwille had been an evangelist.....why didn't he bring people to their knees for repentance? If wierwlle had been a pastor.............why didn't he pull the "flock" together and keep wolves at bay? If wierwille had been a teacher...........why didn't he MAKE THE SCRIPTURES PLAIN for all to see? So many questions. So many questions. ...............
  22. Wayfer Not, Looking back on all this craziness..... Martindale had no business teaching on the categories of "Christian"....."Family"......."Sex." He just wasn't qualified.
  23. Last I heard.....they went to Camp Gunnison as staff employees in 2004.
  24. And Martindale carried it one step further in 1994/95(?)...............with his Biblical Principles of a Believer's Family class, the class replaced CF&S. The grey lines of sexual boundaries just got greyer. No strong stance on adultery......[no surprise there]. Craig and Donna shared about their marriage principles....... This strictly audio "class" was recorded in Gunnnison and was later run on the field. If I remember correctly, the fee was $40. It was pawned off as a class. What a joke.
  25. Let's see.......... A book about the life of veepee............Born Again to Serve by mrs. w A book about the life of uncle harry.......and his business/finance savvy A book about the life of ermal owens.....can't leave out ole ermal Buildings..............The Victor Paul Wierwille Prevailing Word Auditorium ...........................at Emporia, (at one time).....Wierwille Library, Uncle Harry Hall, Owens Hall ...........................the EOB....the executive office builidng OR the ermal owens building ...........................Founders Hall Acronym..............Word Over the World (WOW)...or, Wierwille, Owens, Wierwille Streets.................Wierwille Road, Owens Lane (side streets in trailer park named after wierwille family) ...........................ROA area had street signs of Wierwille, Owens, Uncle Harry Publications..........The Way Magazine.....pictures and pictures of founding guys ...........................The Way: Living in Love is an in-house book to promote vpw Other....................Garden of Living Waters.....is where all three founding trustees are buried ............................Monument of founding trustees at its "entrance" ............................Vpw is buried at the pinnacle of the fountain ............................The showcase fountain is on the front lawn facing Wierwille Road (for all to see) More other.............Wierwille Barn, Founders' Home, Wierwille Family Crest in OSC, etc. etc. etc. Can one say?..........IDOLATRY So many people, who helped to build twi, have come and gone in the past four decades..............but consistently, twi promotes an idolizing of its "founding trustees" to support its efforts.
