TWI - too little knowledge is a dangerous thing
skyrider replied to penworks's topic in About The Way
Exactly......the Scriptures are a united whole and BUILD truth upon truth. One cannot cherry-pick some and disregard others. Twi violates biblical research in its most basic elements....following in the steps of wierwille, a false teacher. He led them astray. Even today, thousands still walk lockstep in false doctrine. False teachers and cult leaders would have you to disregard the ten commandments....ie Exd 20:14 Thou shalt not commit adultery. And, wierwille indoctrinated his inner circle to project "spiritual adultery" to deflect from the lust of this sin. -
They conveniently are selective in MANY areas. When I exited twi and examined wierwille's "research" (cough, cough)....more and more questions surfaced. Conveniently, wierwille side-steps past many aspects of family, child-rearing, individual strength, etc......all towards the cult is the epicenter of doing God's will. Hell's Bells.....many have come forward and testified how the "man of God" privately taught the corps girls that "servicing the mog" was DOING GOD'S WILL!!! Yeah, sex with wierwille was a godly service....sick. Talk about the VIOLATION OF INDIVIDUAL SOVEREIGNTY!!!

krys.....guess I should have added a sarc tag on my comment. Sarcastically, twi leadership would put nearly everything in the context of shunning all things secular. In twisting scripture, all pursuits had to be according to their beady-eyed perception....i.e. the "spiritually-mature" were to be full-time employees for twi.
-
Well...secular pursuits and academic pursuits are fine IF you're the cult leader or tyrant. Hence....Doctor wierwille. See......"It's good for ME, but not for THEE."
-
I vividly remember wierwille's disdain for the local German community around New Knoxville who rejected his teachings and pflaugh wonder class. And, even though some came to check it out........very few stayed. Oh, sure.....there were a few long-timers who were highlighted for their "stand," but countless others who were highlighted and VANISHED. Even the pfal class spotlighted notables like Peter J. W@de, Ros@lind R!nker, Dr. H1ggins........and, poof!! they disappear. The pockets of youth.....in California, New York, North Carolina, Kansas....and the summercamps to reel them in. Then, the ambassadors of youth, like Donnie F. and Hefn3r and Do0p......were a magnet for others. Year after year, "Christian Ediquette and Spiritual Protocol"......or should I simply say TWI Mandates.......eroded individual sovereignty to twi-disciples. Take class. Re-take class. Take all classes. Repeat process. Stand. Sit. Shut-up. Don't Ask. Run. Jump. Thru. Hoops. Repeat.

And....wierwille dies. No healing. No deliverance. So much for his "law of believing." Didn't work for saint or sinner. pppsssssst.

Even though I went into the Way Corps.....I think that, deep inside, there was a part of me that was not receptive to drinking the koolaide. Rather than gulping down the indoctrination.....I searched the scriptures and was specifically drawn to the teachings, example, and sacrifice on the cross found in the gospels. Yet, twi seems to skip past the Matthew-Mark-Luke-John truths and highlight the epistles playground.....and even then, the teachings were selective and slanted. I know, I know......I should have left when I got a whiff of this indoctrinated agenda. Yet, I really thought that, in time, leadership would rise above the "fundamentals" and we'd take the high Christian road. Simply put, I thought that we'd put away "childish things" and move towards the greater things of God. I refused to believe that "This was it?" Yeah, training......yeah, some discipline.....okay, okay......but where's the beef? Where's these manifestations of the spirit IN ACTION? On the WOW field, I saw several signs, healings, and a few small miracles. I prayed for my WOW sister, who had immense back pain from falling down the stairs....and she was instantly healed. While out witnessing, I prayed for an elderly lady with cataracs.....and, she instantaeously could SEE CLEARLY. She cried and cried and thanked me about ten times. Yet, I never saw one healing while inresidence......nor did I ever see one healing at hq. None. Nada. Zilch. The epicenter of spirituality was NOT at hq. That was obvious. But, with some.....I think that indoctrination is permanent. “Give me four years to teach the children and the seed I have sown will never be uprooted.” – “Give us the child for 8 years and it will be a Bolshevik forever.” - Vladimir Lenin

TWI plunders individual sovereignty.....every class, every program. Wierwille's pfal pitches a "stand on the word".....but really, the message is "stand with twi and against all others." Keep your distance from "worldly influences".....from secular learning, family associations, denominations, etc. Further, in the Dealing with the Adversary class.....one of the FOUR FRONTS of the Devil is YOURSELF. Yeah, you are the culprit. You cannot trust your discernment, your critical thinking skills......you NEED wierwille/twi to do THAT for you. You just surrendered your individual sovereignty. Now......twi has power over you. Classes, more classes......way homes, wow ambassador, fellowlaborers, corps, university of life.....all with the same goal: TWI ASCENDANCY. Every dollar, every hour of volunteer work, every day of witnessing for twi....was profit to the organization. Today, twi sits on some $52 MILLION. Is there any wonder why twi targeted the youth? As youth are easily absorbed into groups, teams, clubs, gangs, they are more susceptible to groupthink and authority figures. Not adults. Generally speaking, most adults have experienced deception and scams and political/religious rhetoric to see the wolf in sheep's clothing. The corps indoctrination had so violated individual sovereignty.....that it seemed like there was a corps cloning factory in Emporia.

Not only a refund for money and time spent..... LOSS OF OPPORTUNITY is the big ticket item needing to be refunded. With higher education, career advancement, promotions, bonuses, investments.... and that mere $52,000 could easily be $2,552,000.00 Some of us worked our interim year at hq for $75 a month. Yeah, we got "room and board".....or should I say, 1/6th of a room and bored....with a grand salary of $75 for like 320 hours of work. A pittance. So....wierwille, craig, don, howard......hope you guys "had your day" with the women and booze 'cause YOUR DAY BEFORE THE LORD is coming!!!
-
Yeah....that FellowLaborers Program was "Corps Jr." in disguise. Every program, just like every class, was directing us to keep laboring for twi.
-
John.....if I recall, wierwille also didn't like the USA denominational power plays and money flow that was happening in India. And, yes.....look what twi became under wierwille's leadership. Such hypocrisy.....wierwille's pot calling the kettle black.

KJV Concordance for -"dwelling" AND "together"- "dwelling" AND "together" occurs in 0 verses in the KJV (see Primary Results).

That's a eupheism....."he didn't always make the best long term business decisions" isn't it? I mean, this abuser centered his world around lust and control, self-promotion and self-serving mandates. Of course, it worked.....but was very short-lived. It died with him. Was wierwille really concerned about raising up disciples FOR Christ? Hardly. The usurper had taken a position that he had no right, nor hadn't earned. Even the WOW Ambassador program was solely about running pfal classes. Everything ran thru the twi-conduit of "moving the word." Twi even defined the terms of what "the word" was. Wierwille not only killed the goose......he ate it for lunch.

Another incrementalism......replacing twig leaders and branch leaders with corps indoctrinees. Why did every leader NEED to be corps-indoctrinated?? Why did faithful and committed twig/branch leaders need to be corps? Why were the wierwille policies heavy-handed in replacing those who were established in those communities and committed to the local area? It is my opinion that wierwille's narcissism blurred his judgement and distorted the obvious. Hundreds and hundreds of twig leaders were replaced by corps doofuses. Hundreds and hundreds of twig leaders were replaced by corps elitism. And, in turn, thousands left twi BECAUSE of corps a-holes. Wierwille, the narcissist, had to have it "his way or the highway"........and thousands upon thousands CHOSE THE HIGHWAY.
-
Yeah.....remember, it was all ONE class at one time. And......it did NOT work. Incremental Indoctrination was the way to go.
-
While living at hq.....I used to think how wonderful it was to see the place beautifully manicured, meticulously in order and polished. NOW.....I see the deception of the manicured appearance. Kinda like the "whitewash" reference in scripture and full of dead men's bones.
-
Sometimes, I think.....situations like this give license to CONTROL. If Rosie was so damn spiritual.....why didn't see get revelation to order Linder to be stationed at Wierwille Road at 12:13pm Wednesday, Sept 28th? Just like Wierwille yelling at the corps to believe to stop the rain during Corps Week. If the "man of God" didn't have those connections, why did he think that the rest of us did? Scumbag.
-
Highway......it's people like you that gives them job security. Of course, they will be quick to add this to their reports. After all, in their mind.....they're protecting the spiritual epicenter of TWI Majesty from demonic forces of this world. Yet, you simply were taking a few pictures. Amazing to see the warped paranoia of the cultists, isn't it?

Yeah.....all of the trustees had their little fiefdoms. Don W was the Dean of the Emporia Campus, the advocate for higher education, the Word In Business Ambassador, and "partnered" to the College WOWs. Howard A was trustee over Camp Gunnison, the Way Builders Spokesman, the Practical Manager, and the Red Boot Skirt Chaser. Wanda W was second to the First Lady, Mrs. Wierwille, who specialized in Guest Housing, Social Events, Interior Decorating & Design, and was the constant traveling companion of Mrs. W. Emogene A was the Guardian Angel and Commanding Officer of The Way International Bookstore. Her power reached far and wide, from bookstore operations, to shipping/receiving and warehouse personnel, to field training Limb volunteers of bookstore displays and operations. Many have claimed immense havoc that her fiefdom reached. The Game of Incrementalism played well for the top-tier.
-
Yes, jenkinson ran Camp Gunnison with an iron fist, highly regimented. BUT.......then again, his orders came from wierwille. Knowing that this nice mountainside camp resided on the gushing Gunnison River, people might be inclined to think this was a vacation spot.....hence, more regimented schedules and abuse.
-
Yep.....that generic buzz-phrase "moving the word" is wayspeak for running pfal classes or twi-update of the same. All cults got their underworld slang terms for running with the herd. The game of incrementalisim has been going on for a long, long time. Kinda ironic, isn't it. You come to this forum touting twi doctrine....yet your twi-membership card has been revoked. Then, you mention meeting up with Walter who also doesn't participate there anymore. So, you hide in the shadows and alleyways of the twi-neighborhood for your 'spiritual survival.' Interesting. .
-
Yeah.....after PFAL 77 and vpw's older brother, Harry, dying a few months later...the wheels on wierwille's wagon FELL OFF.
-
Yes....that's what I've always said about the corps indoctrination. It wasn't the corps teachings or study material.....it was the PROCESS OF INDOCTRINATION that was the underlying agenda. 1) The conditioning to obey twi leadership, not the scriptures. 2) The mog-doctrine that supplanted walking by holy spirit within. 3) The peer-pressure and "elder corps" that groomed the "younger corps." 4) The intensely monitored training to be a spiritual "marine corps." 5) The isolation from society, and yet no privacy or personal space. 6) The consistent and subtle attacks on family roots, past, background. 7) The cult agenda to remold one to the servitude of the cult.

Opera......yeah, the "frog in a pot of water" is a vivid analogy. Here's another vivid illustration: In August of 1995, Martindale mandated that all corps MUST be full-time employees of twi to retain corps status. A small number refused and were immediately dropped from active corps status. Dozens of others (60-90?) terminated their other employment, and after a few short months, were "released from twi employment" and labeled corps alumni (a softening of the dropped from active corps status). By mid-1996, twi publically made known that they were experiencing a troublesome downturn financially and the full-time corps was the first target to slash beginning January 1997. The following life-changes were mandated to the corps, specifically the field corps, and families: * No corps pregnancies without trustee approval * No serious pets (dogs, cats, horses)....goldfish, hamsters allowed * 10% cut in salary and highly demanded that corps should do more * No childrens' teeth braces without prior trustee authorization * No music lessons, no karate lessons, no voice lessons, no tuturoing, etc. * No cable tv, no gym memberships, no notable hobbies * No gifts were to be received, all such giving = bribery * No smoking, no tobacco products * More on list, but you get the point By April/May of 1998, Martindale publically stated that the full-time field corps "revelation from God" would cease later that year. Hundreds of corps were NOW encouraged to go find employment elsewhere. The corps had "fulfilled the revelation" that God wanted or some-such dribble. **Disclaimer: With regards to twi's financial measures, I firmly believe that twi exaggerated the situation for their benefit and outcome. It "turned up the heat on the corps to perform or else".....and it gave Martindale a way out of this ridiculous "revelation." By 2003 or so, Greasespot had confirmed that twi's financial statements were in the $48 million range.

Thanks waysider. In the "Jesuits" link.....this quote speaks volumes to "there's nothing new under the sun:" "As part of their service to the Roman Church, the Jesuits encouraged people to continue their obedience to scripture as interpreted by Catholic doctrine." Hey, followers of da-way......aren't you supposed to continue your obedience to scripture AS INTERPRETED BY TWI'S DOCTRINE?
