  1. Maybe its just me.....but I get amused when I google the way international and before I finish typing out "international" the drop-down box shows the way international cult. Yep, CULT. The internet raises the red flag for anyone who might have just gotten witnessed to and goes home to google it to learn more. Then, the first page has a link to wikipedia.....that gives a basic synopsis of twi, with controversial issues and cult allegations and splinter groups. Another link goes to Dr. John Juedes site. Another link goes to "The Cult That Snapped" by Karl Kahler. Another link of The 'Closing' of The Way International by John P. Juedes. Another link to Letter from John Lynn. And, a couple of other links. GreaseSpot Cafe show up on page 2. My, oh my.....the super highway of information is at one's fingertips. Twi can no longer hide in obscurity. Sure, they'll still target the wanderers, outcasts, dissatisfied, searching,......but the internet SHOUTS FROM THE ROOFTOPS that twi ain't good. Long gone are the days of those early '70s when I was pitched with its "biblical research." One doesn't need to rush home from work, drive a distance to a class session 4X a week, getting home around 10:50pm each time......just to learn some bible. Those days are LONG GONE. The world wide web.......its a beauuuutiful thang! :)
  2. yep......the guy was sole proprietor of a "convenience" store. black heart/ white heart......which horse wins......fortune-teller leaves.......jubbalpor man lifts arm ......prayed for fire-engine red curtains.......insurance man never cracked up his car after believing positively ......black snowstorm & snow-covered gas pumps.......couldn't-leave-tulsa snowstorm.....etc. etc. Ridiculous "revelation" ramblings.......WHAT A JOKE
  3. HE DID..........wierwille shared this with us in the early advanced classes. And.....it's in Mrs. W's book. You guessed it.....same page, p.93 "Relating an incident closer to home, Dr. Wierwille shared: 'At the Van Wert County Fair I would stand by the racetrack and ask God which horse would win, and He would show me.' Dr. Wierwille warned however: 'DON'T TRY THIS STUFF: This is not the way revelation normally works.' But this is how God showed Dr. Wierwille so that he could better teach us." Don't know about vpw's betting.....but he did, supposedly, pick which horse would win. .
  4. WW/Twinky......well, the way I remember it was that wierwille was referencing a theologian on the other side of the English Channel who wanted an hour of his time. Yet, when wierwille and this other scholar were discussing scripture, this scholar said that "with what we are seeing, we will need to take the next six months to work thru the scriptures" (and wierwille loved him for that). Because.....this other theologian, "why I wouldn't waste my time on him" and "I've forgotten more of the Word than he'll ever know." Someone else might need to step in here and bail us out........help? :) And, then......the choir sings "Who cares?"
  5. Mrs. W's book was released in 1996. At the time, Mrs. Wierwille had "personalized sticker signatures" to place in new release books. Rather than her signing hundreds of books, this was her way of personalizing each book. My book was "signed by her." Amazing......how differently I view this book today. <_<
  6. Ham......yeah, the old advanced class if I remember correctly. Of course, wierwille played it up with some fanfare and stuff.....some hookeypookism stuff. Not that big of deal in Mrs. W's book....p.93 "Again at Van Wert, Dr. wierwille observed: 'A fortune-teller at the Van Wert County Fair had set up her tent for business in an area near our Christian bookstore sales booth. She said that she was not able to 'get her connection' with us aound, so she soon moved out of our vicinity.' Ever since we owned the Van Wert Gospel Gift Shop, we would close the store in town during fair week and set up a booth at the fairgrounds. That's how Dr. Wierwille was so close to the racetrack during the horse races and also near to the fortune-teller, until she voluntarily moved her business." [Picture of Gospel Gift Shop booth inserted in book]
  7. Yeah.......vulnerable, dissatisfied, searching and all that. Two things that come to mind: 1) Transition and 2) Tranference Transition & Transference - Click Here
  8. And.....speaking of Mrs. W's writing of vpw's life from 1916-1961 (volume 1) When is twi going to FINISH writing volume 2? What about those years 1961-1985 of wierwille's life? C'mon twi....you're, supposedly, the ministry that pays homage to attention to detail and all. Surely, twi....you are NOT going to let wierwille's life and legacy fall by the wayside. What about the last 24 years of his life? The filming of pfal? The trips to California? Hefn_r and Doop? The Way West and The Way East? The Zero Corps? The rise of "you-can-stay-as-long-as-your-money-holds-out" martindale to receive the wierwille mantle of next twi president? What about Ambassador One, motorcoaches, motorcycles, and wierwille's inner circle of handlers? Etc. Etc. I mean, really......this is the mog of the universe we are talking about here. You can't leave his (sanitized) biography INCOMPLETE. His life didn't stop in 1961. In fact, he'd just gotten off the Van Wert Church payroll only some 4 years prior to this......and, really, A MINISTRY THAT WAS FOUR YEARS OLD (1961) at the end of volume 1. C'mon twi......why won't you finish the work that Mrs. Wierwille set out to do? Could it be......it gets harder and harder to sanitize actual events? Could it be......too many would see thru the blatant hypocrisy of glossing over failures? Could it be......the details would expose the glaring truth of fabricated lies? Could it be......that too many ex-clergy might come forward to debunk a volume 2? It never ceases to amaze me that the only way twi stays "relevant" is ....... TO HIDE THEIR PAST. .
  9. Twinky.....yeah, Mrs. Wierwille's book -- Born Again to Serve I referenced it in my post by stating -- "Mrs. Wierwille and Karen would have included this "unanimous vote" information in the sanitized version of vpw's life and ministry from 1916-1961" Guess I should be clearer for those who aren't familiar with this book. .
  10. And, there you have it folks......"the law of believing" works for saint and sinner alike.
  11. And.....everyone wants to better their current state or money situation, right? After all.....why settle for "good" when you can have the BEST..?
  12. Like vacuum cleaner salesmen........twi's sales target family, friends and co-workers. It's a soft-sale when, for instance, a troubled youth turns his life around and the parents are thankful. Sometimes, they in turn show interest and involvement. The first few months of "love-bombing" is a deceptive ploy to get others involved. Rarily, have I seen a higher ranking leader (Region/Trunk/Cabinet/Trustee) display the kind of genuine Christian/Good Samaritan qualities for the sake of simply reaching out to help one in need. They are selling....and if you're not buying....then they wipe "the dust from their feet" and move on. Who ever hears of hospital visits? rehab visits? juvenile center visits? prison visits? Why? One of twi's major erroneous teachings, imo, is from Acts 6:3,4 -- where seven men were chosen and appointed "over this business...to give themselves continually to the ministry of the word." In other words, THEY STAY IN THEIR OFFICES AND RE-SEARCH VIC'S WORDS TO TEACH EACH SUNDAY. Getting people to their teachings and classes is the best thing, in their minds, that they offer. To them, the Lord's business is running classes. ppppppfffffftttt
  13. OldSkool.....the irony in Mrs. W's book gets even better. The (occultist) Albert Cliffe is included in vpw's "fantastic men" club....which spawns the twi cornerstone of "the law of believing" and all of its tangents. The wierwilles didn't have a clue as to who Albert Cliffe really was....and, on page 93, the previous page before Cliffe is the infamous account in pfal of the fortune-teller at the Van Wert County Fair. So, while the wierwilles pat themselves on the back for "shutting down the fortune-teller's tent".....they embrace and promote the teachings of an occultist. And further, how many twi followers will read Mrs. W's book and never see this? Occult teachings in twi? Who would have thunk it?
  14. If I recall correctly....... Twi morphed this from....1) Burn the Ballast, 2) Burn the Chaff Day, to 3) Uncle Harry Day Burn the Ballast was to get rid of anything excessive that is holding you down. Burn the Chaff Day......self-explanatory. Besides, I grew up on in wheat country.....saw stubble fields burned. Uncle Harry Day.......Harry died in fall of 1977, so Uncle Harry Day was recognized March 1978. Wasn't March 17th Harry's actual birthdate? Oh, and Harry would "empty" his bank account every year except one dollar. So folks, burn your books, get rid of stuff, empty your bank accounts.......and live abundantly. sarc/
  15. Exactly.....like the magician's white-glove (fits like a hand in a glove) DIVERSION. Same thing with the corps indoctrination. All those "attention to detail" exercises wasn't about the details, it was about OBEDIENCE. If they can get you obedient to anal absurdity......you'll be obedient to doctrinal obfuscation. Nothing in twi is what it appears.
  16. Yep... So according to Al......"Al taught us that death only overtakes a person when he gets tired and quits believing to live." Gee, where does one begin to show this flawed doctrine? How about Stephen's death.....where the scriptures testify that he was full of holy spirit, saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God. Ummmm.....did "death overtake him because he got TIRED and QUIT BELIEVING? What about all the people noted in Hebrews 11....who withstood evil and obtained a good report through faith, that they might testify of a better resurrection. Did they quit believing? Well......mr. and mrs wierwille, you two got conned into teaching a false doctrine.
  17. Albert Cliffe -- p.94,95 Born Again to Serve...twi's book "Albert Cliffe was a biochemist from Canada who had seen miracles by believing God's promises. He had even successfully practiced his believing on herds of cattle. In the introduction to his book Let Go and Let God, Al wrote, 'By means of faith in a living Christ, a resurrected Christ, you can gain such security that nothing can ever defeat you, no sickness can ever overwhelm you, and by the practice of this faith you can learn to gain victory over life and death.' Al taught us that death only overtakes a person when he gets tired and quits believing to live. Al described himself as 'a cold Episcopalian' in his early years. All of this changed, however, when he was healed by God's power of an incurable disease. The miracle occurred one day as he lay sick in bed. The radio had been turned on when, at the half hour, the program changed and the evangelist Rev. Charles Fuller came on. No one was around to change the station, and Al wasn't able to get out of bed to change it himself or he would have. So although he cursed the situation he was in, he was a captive audience. As he listened to Rev. Fuller, he became interested in the message, gradually realizing that it was directed specifically at him. Then a phenomenon occurred. He said it was Pentecost in his room as he heard 'like a rushing mighty wind.' He was born again and healed from his incurable disease that day while hearing Charles Fuller speak God's Word on the radio. Al was the invited guest of the Spiritual 40 Club from January 4 to 8, 1953. He was the only one of our Spiritual 40 Club guests, as I recall it, who didn't stay with us in our home. All the rest stayed in Don's bedroom in the upstairs of the parsonage. But Al thought his cigarette smoking would have offended us, which, of course, it wouldn't have. During his four-day visit with us, we held prayer clinics every afternoon. His topic was 'The Miracle of Believing.' His evening teachings were titled 'Lessons in Living.' Al's favorite figurative statement in teaching was 'get your foot off the hose,' meaning, remove all doubt and fear from your mind so the positive answers can come into manifestation. Let the prayer hose be open so that the answers can flow through freely. Al Cliffe taught Dr. Wierwille a great principle when our family came up against the local school board on the question of inoculating our children, which we didn't want to do but that the school officials said was mandatory. Al told us to prioritize our time, to let the fight against inoculation go by the boards so that Dr. Wierwille could spend his time and energy holding forth the accuracy of the Word. This was timely, so good advice which we have applied in many situations since then. Dr. Wierwille stated that, 'all those wonderful men....they were fantastic....Somehow by God's mercy and grace, we just kept going on with the Word. That's what has made this ministry possible.'"
  18. Excie......yep, Rhoda Becker worked as vpw's personal secretary beginning in September 1947. A wonderful, dedicated woman. With my parents not attending my wedding in the BRC......at my request, Reuben and Rhoda were seated in the groom's section, in place of my parents. I find it easy to separate my love for kind folks from the evil machinery of twi. .
  19. As we pass around the "thank yous".... First of all, I want to again whole-heartedly thank WordWolf for his diligence on GS. Time after time, WordWolf searches out links and information that has helped immensely through the years. The Albert Cliffe information is one that I often overlook in my attempts to explain the wierwille doctrine. Much, much appreciated WW..... And....a shoutout of thank you to the rest of you fine folks. :)
  20. Rejoice.....I seriously doubt that Mrs. Wierwille and Karen would have included this "unanimous vote" information in the sanitized version of vpw's life and ministry from 1916-1961 had in not been included AT THE BOTTOM OF WIERWILLE'S RESIGNATION LETTER. Why wierwille deemed it necessary, or important, to state it on his resignation letter is somewhat puzzling. It strikes me of a narcissist mindset.....that God had far more important work ahead for wierwille than this congregation. Read it for yourself below. Here....p.215 is Wierwille's resignation letter. On St. Peter's Evangelical and Reformed Church letterhead: August 7, 1957 To the Consistory of The St. Peter's E. & R. Church and to The Congregation: Greetings to you in the precious Name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Because I believe God would have me devote more and more time to the non-sectarian, interdenominational work of The Way, Inc., International; to writing and teaching, and thus I would have to be gone from the local Congregation for weeks and even months at a time, therefore, after all these years of service in your midst, I lovingly tender my resignation as your Pastor at this time. Never has a minister appreciated His Congregation and people more nor has a minister had more joy in serving a people. I shall forever be indebted to Almighty God and you for His bringing us together and for your accepting us and my ministry. It has been your love, prayer and understanding that has allowed me the freedom to have the hours and the ministry in The Word which God has seen fit to extend to us by His mercy and grace. I have spoken of you to people the world over and I shall continue to tell them of you. You have been to us a wonderful congregation and it has been in your midst that our present ministry on The Word of God has unfolded and come into fruition. May God's continued blessing be on you now, and may His reward be abundant to each of you when we shall all appear before Him in the Resurrection. Naturally we love you with a great love after these many years with you, and we pray that you will send us forth with your love and prayers, that our lives may be a blessing to His children around the world. Sincerely, In His Service, Victor Paul Wierwille VPW/rb P.S. Accepted by unanimous vote of the Consistory, August 7, 1957. The Consistory furthermore accepted December 8, 1957 or anytime previous to this which would be most convenient to Dr. Wierwille as his final Sunday in our Congregation.
  21. I was in college when I took pfal.....and, generally, paid attention to my college professors. When wierwille made this claim in pfal.......my mind did a double-take, like "that makes NO sense." Wierwille looked around to guage his observation the spiritual abundance of people. My mind caught the discrepancy right then and there.....blam, the premise of this class is incorrect. It really is ironic after all these years to see some of these things have come back to mind.....with glaring inconsistencies.
  22. WW....thanks for your input and the links. Yeah.....as all this Cliffe/occult stuff comes to the forefront, it brings to mind why I had that "law of believing" skepticism during those twi years. And, especially when corps week came around and we were soundly reproved for our lack of believing to STOP THE RAIN. Wierwille was a walking carnival show.....from juggling to fire-breathing all in one.
  23. Stir in some Dale Carnegie sales tips and networking friends.....and knead military-type discipline into corps class instructors..... and the bread is baked to perfection.
  24. When one does their doctoral dissertation.....is this a common practice to advance one's master thesis work? Or, is this a cut-and-paste job that deviates from standard academic practices? With correspondences course-work to Pikes Peak Seminary, on the surface it appears that wierwille simply submitted his master's thesis work with a tweaked version. It almost looks like a psuedo-plagairism of oneself if you ask me. :)
