In Mrs. W's book, Born Again to Serve, p.131 --- "On November 21, 22, and 23 in the city of Ujjain, Dr. Wierwille addressed a three-day annual convention of the Terapanthi Jains, known as the Anuverat Movement. Dr. Wierwille was the first Christian ever to be invited to address this body. The Jains are a sect of Hindus and their leader was Acharaya Shri Tulsi, who spent much time in private telling us about the movement..." On p.124.....The India Itinerary [1955/56] -- Bombay [11/6-18]; Kota [11/19,20]; Ujjain [11/21-26]; Ahmadabad [11/27-12/1]; Bombay [12/2-4]; Poona, Ahmadnagar, Sholapur [12/6-11]; Bombay [12/15]; Hyderabad [12/16-18]; Madras [12/19-22]; Ernakulam [12/23-26]; Kumbanad [12/27-1/2/56]; Kottayam [1/3-8]; Nagpur [1/10-12]; Raipur, Bilaspur [1/13-16]; Jabalpur [1/17-23]; Calcutta [1/24-27]; Bernares [1/28, 29]; Kanpur [1/30-2/1]; Agra [2/2], Delhi [2/3-6]; Bombay [2/8-11] Twinky.....regarding the excerpted article, Dr. I.S. Williams was reporting that he presided over a rally of the National Christians held at Jabalpur on the 4th and 5th June 1955. This rally in Jabalpur was five months prior to the wierwille's arrival in Bombay. Regarding the February 1956 date in twi's The Way: LIL......I don't know. I trashed that book long ago. When looking at the wierwille itinerary in India, one has to remember that there are alot of moving parts here: 1)VPW's version of his grand impact on India and the Jains Convention, 2)Mrs. W's documented and sanitized version in BATS, 3)Dr. I.S. William was there to open all the doors in every city. He was the president of All-India Federation of National Churches and commanded deep respect everywhere he went. Wierwille was just another guest "missionary" amongst many. 4)In a three-month period, the itinerary went to 21 cities and traveled major distances. Train rides thru the night were common. In the end, the "big splash" of wierwille's teaching in India amounted to very little in the eyes of the Indian people. In studying thru Dr. I.S. Williams' report and several others, missionaries and denominational movements have been proselytizing India since the late 1800s. The vast, intricate culture of India is segregated by demographics and an interwoven fabric of sacred cities and sacred Hindu rituals. Ujjain is about 280 miles north of Bombay and is considered one of the seven sacred cities in India. .

Wierwille was a plagairist. He "reworked" Stiles' work by tweaking sentences in attempts to distance himself from another's work. Side-by-side comparisons have been made to clarify the charge of wierwille's plagairist past. Plagairism in the real world is taken seriously. In the link and article below.....compare the two paragraphs. THIS is what the real world judges as plagairism. The full essence of the paragraph is left intact as the plagairist tweaks around the periphery. Sound familiar? Click Here - Plagairism

Yeah.....p.172 Born Again to Serve---"Dr. Wierwille had designated Dr. Williams as the general overseer of The Way of India." What is THIS? Narcissism run amok?.....1) Dr. Williams was president of the All-India Federation of National Churches, 2) Wierwille was a guest speaker and small-town pastor from Van Wert, Ohio, 3) Who was this pip-squeak wierwille to "designate" anything? 4) Didn't Dr. Williams wash his hands of wierwille the minute the guest linens were washed and dried? Just this one subject, wierwille's association with Dr. Williams.......shows glaring discrepancies of wierwille's pfal boastings and denounces his claims. What about the TWO snowstorms that wierwille purportedly noted with NO FIRST-HAND WITNESSES? Are we to take wierwille at his word on those? See......that's why I've stated that Mrs. Wierwille's book has damaging claims on her husband and debunk his mogship. Some of it just takes a little digging.....some of it just takes a little common-sense thinking. <_<
-
BINGO. Dr. I.S. Williams was president of the All-India Federation of National Churches. And.....who was wierwille in 1956? A small-town pastor soon to receive unanimous resignation votes from his own church board members.
-
I haven't been able to find that thread, but when I googled "All-India Federation of National Churches" of which, in Mrs. W's book indicates that Dr. Williams is the president......this thread is listed. This is a report of the Christianity Missionary Activities Enquiry Committee in 1956. Significant Claims: 1) Archbishop K. c. Pillay is noted, 2) Dr. I.S. Williams presided over the Jabalpur Conference in June 1955, 3) Disapproves of foreign missionaries working under the control of foreign administrative systems importing their denominational influence into India. Click Here At the very bottom of this report, you can click on "back to contents page" and see the outline of this report. The section regarding Dr. Williams is of interest only to those searching to uncover his significance with regards to the wierwille itinerary in India.

There's another thread detailing Dr. I.S. Williams and NOT "Dr. J.S. Williams" in mrs. w's book. I don't have time to find it right now......but it, even more, crystallizes how important Dr. I.S. Williams was in Indian society and culture.
-
A quick summation......in the summer of 1953, wierwille's brother harry was in Tennessee. He stopped to visit a Christian children's camp and an Anglican bishop from India, was the guest speaker. This speaker was Bishop K.C. Pillai. Harry invited him to meet with vic in Van Wert, OH. Pillai's church and connections back in India set Dr. I.S. Williams (and family) to host the wierwilles during their stay in Bombay. Another thread, years ago gives more details. Click Here - Narcisstic Self-Promotion .

Turning the tables on twi...... What would have happened if I had done some of these things? .....if I had secretly and deceptively married during my interim corps year -- disregarding corps policy? .....if I had flat out admitted during my corps training that I did NOT believe the bible? .....if I blatantly plagairized from others when doing my corps research paper? .....if I would have, after corps graduation, went off on my own teaching pfal? Would I be recognized and considered highly into twi's spiritual ranks? Absolutely not. Corps grads and trainees have been given the bum's rush for far, far less. The hypocrisy and idolatry in twi is nothing short of astounding.
-
Yeah.....but in a twist of irony, twi's elite fail to deceive with Mrs. Wierwille's book. Although fawning followers may not see the glaring details that unmask wierwille's deception, there are a list of issues........character, laziness, stealth, fraud, pride, striker, etc. that are in direct contrast to scriptural truths regarding holy men of God. In twi terminology.....wierwille wasn't just "a" man of God, he was THE man of God. Not just top-tier, but TOP of the top-tier. You know......THE MAN of God. The smell of idolatry, twi's cologne.....splash it on. :o
-
When I sift thru Mrs. W's book......here are a few things that stand out. 1) In 1930, Rev. Charles E. Fuller began his radio-revival broadcast.....vpw copied (added youth singers). 2) Wierwille was secretly deceptive about his marriage. Pre-seminary students were not allowed to marry during training. 3) His master's thesis work was duplicated for his "doctorate" at Pikes Peak Seminary....on Peter the evangelist. 4) Time with Rosalind R!nker, wierwille admitted that he didn't even believe the written Word of God. 5) So, in pastoring a church....young wierwille was a fraud. He didn't believe the bible. 6) India trip with Rev. I.S. Williams as host opened all those doors to teach and meet high officials. 7) Wierwille was STILL on Van Wert Church's payroll in 1957 while building groundwork for twi. 8) Twi was NOT founded in 1942. 9) The powerful impact of E. Stanley Jones and how wierwille plagairized from him. 10) Rev. B.G. Leonard and the REAL foundational class that wierwille stole. 11) Albert Cliffe and the occultist roots of "the law of believing." 12) The "Audible Voice and Black Snowstorm" story that wierwille told to way corps to catapult his spiritual prominence. Yeah, there are more.....but those 12 give clear evidence and insight into wierwille's character and building blocks to twi. Every step along the way, wierwille hitched his wagon to a man of stature greater than himself. And then, when he stood on the pedestal of "his own ministry"......he claimed that GOD TAUGHT HIM AND THAT THIS KNOWLEDGE WAS UNKNOWN. The whole wierwille "man of God" schtick gets dunked into the toilet by mrs. wierwille's book. There was absolutely nothing original about wierwille, nothing that he didn't mimic or steal from another source. Not one thing. In the end, I seriously doubt that wierwille's speaking in tongues was genuine. <_< .

Yeah......the deception of the spoke-flapping baseball cards. Reality set in whenever I went uphill.

Or, is it?......Ash Heap of TWIST-ory? Whichever way (no pun intended) you want to look at it.....the "ash heap of history" is catching up with twi. The paltry numbers of twi's class enrollments, sunday service attendance, way disciples and corps programs, etc. tell the story of twi's relevance, and lack thereof. While rosalie's cabinet meetings discuss motivational techniques to attract new staffers, critique policies and monitoring procedures, curtail damage control of corps exitees, or the camera angles of sunday services......don't they realize how foolish they look? The way religion, wierwille's grand scheme to escape the traditional church and "tap the resources for the more abundant life," has BECOME the very image of what they proclaim to disdain. In vain, do they pontificate. In vain, do they whitewash the outside while the inside is deceptive and mean-spirited. The mask is off. Do they not realize that Mrs. Wierwille's book, Born Again to Serve, gives damaging insight to her husband's claims? In chronicling wierwille's life and ministry (from 1916-1961 -- and "20 years of vp's ministry").....she expounds on men and women who taught vpw. Radio broadcasts, India itineraries, Leonard's "Gifts of the Spirit" foundational class, seminars, speakers, etc....and young wierwille incorporated plagairism, deception, isolation and exploitation to frame his greatness. Yet, why isn't anyone at twi writing THE LAST 20 YEARS OF WIERWILLE'S MINISTRY? Those years, 1962-1982, is a big chunk of a man's life......what happened? Perhaps, twi is realizing that the more information they expose, the more vulnerable they are. For many.......the mystique of wierwille is over. While some still cling to the nostalgia of the early days of twi.....that's just a component of human nature. Sure, when youthful spontaneity was coursing thru our bloodcells and no responsibility in sight, a rock of ages festival seems all-emcompassing, right? I mean, you just had to be there! The annual reunion of "friends" was a major driving force to the pilgrimage, wasn't it? But today....not so much. When martindale got that hair-brained revelation to employ all corps full-time......rock of ages was cancelled. Twi could not afford roa WITHOUT SLAVE LABOR FROM THE CORPS. When reality meets nostalgia.........economic reality wins. In the end, it becomes apparent that wierwille's ministry was built on bleeding the resources of youth.......their enthusiasm, labor, and network of friends. With loss of opportunities and educational advancement, the multitude becomes trapped in a world of dependency, conflict, abuse and despair. The internet has been a formidable warning tool and twi's policies, of course, is to stay away from devil-possessed sites like GS. Surprise, surprise. hahaha I don't miss the smell of wet canvas in a rain-drenched morning in Ohio. The smell of independence and coffee always starts my day. :)
-
Well.....wierwille had a deep passion to train dogs so he prayed to the Lord. And, on a bright sunny morning, after he prayed.....the black snowstorm covered the doghouse and the Lord said, "I will teach you how to be the best dog trainer since the first century church if you will train many dogs, starting with your first dog whom you shall name Tick." Hunt Close...
-
Yeah.....images of a blood-sucking parasite. And, in similar fashion, wierwille names his foundational class --- SLUDGE. :B)
-
You mean to tell me that.....naming a dog "Tick" doesn't signal some sort of psychological or pathological deficiency in one's view of loyal affection? Hmmmm..... So, it's not some secret code or pseudonym like T - totally I - immersed C - chuggin' K - koolaide
-
What kind of a person names his dog "Tick?" Is it supposed to be funny? Is it supposed to be affectionate? Is it supposed to be sarcastic? Is it supposed to be anything-at-all? What's that saying....."Give one a good name in order to live up to it." Naming "man's best friend" Tick........really? REALLY? Just stop and visualize this. "Ticks satisfy all of their nutritional requirements on a diet of blood, a practice known as hematophagy. They extract the blood by cutting a hole in the host's epidermis, into which they insert their hypostome, likely keeping the blood from clotting by excreting an anticoagulant." What the heck was wierwille thinking?
-
Yeah.....I agree. That's what pathetic cults do.

The subtle bait-and-switch lies at the very core of twi propaganda......the pfal class. From what I observed......the "benefits" of pfal were promoted for personal benefit, for MY life. To help me overcome doubt, worry and fear. To help me separate truth from error. To help me get answers to my prayers. To help me in my personal walk with God. Yeah, baby......it's christ-in-you, not christ-in-twi-the-hands-who-serve-God's-people. Yeppers,....YOU speak in tongues, YOU move your move, YOU move your lips. YOU are the lord's annointed, the apple of His eye. (blah, blah, blah) After the pfal class.......the SWITCH to the groupthink collective begins. Stand with twi. Go WOW, go corps.....just don't go home to your friends. Take the intermediate class. Stay involved. Take other classes....like 'The Way Tree' Some twelve, fifteen, twenty years down the road....and you finally connect the dots. Dot by dot by dot.....twi led you into their canyon and corraled you and thousands of others. Program after program......maybe fellow-laborers, corps? Some of us experienced being staff-serfdom. Deception was at the heart of wierwille's ploy. NOBODY would willingly surrender their individual core wholesale. Other youth and peer pressure played into the hands of the collective snare. Just a youthful 'cheer party.' The single crowd loves the action, the 'promotions,' the buzz of ego-feeding times around 'spiritual elites.' Advancing to the forefront to lead others gives its own sense of 'accomplishment' of leadership. Nevermind the reality of education, family, careers, time-opportunity, investment, etc. that is slipping away. For married couples......a new baby, and growing responsibilities throw a cold splash of reality to your face. Although twi has window-dressing of family values........twi was, and is, anti-family at its core. The whole fabric of twi was a youth/work camp.....kids just were a nuisance to scheduled framework. Nursing mothers, crying babies, naptimes, children's activities.....were a thorn in twi's side. Even at twi's 'family corps campus' the early bedtimes of kids and hall monitoring was a grumbling task. With each passing year.....school activities, ballgames, music lessons, braces, etc. were growing concerns. As years passed into decades......the inescapable truth to married couples with children was mounting family responsibilities. Ever notice that the majority of staffers were single, or married with no kids? Many region coordinators had NO kids. In the end, what started out as "good for individual growth" was totally upended by the cult-collective mindset. One's individual decisions were always submitted to the larger NEEDS of a manipulating machinery unimaginable. And, as disturbing signs of twi's deception registered, one knew that the day would come when it was time to cut bait and go. Yep.....switch-and-ditch the cult to regain the individual freedom, livelihood and pursuit of ONE'S OWNS DREAMS. And now.....with each passing decade, the Lord has restored what the locust has eaten. Life is good again....and the lessons of escaping their snare will not be forgotten. It will be told and scored like the days of old.....like those who escaped Egypt's taskmasters. Our children's children will know the hard-fought lessons of modern-day cults.
-
Does that make the "founder of the village" the idiot-in-chief? Fortunately, some of the children are finding the trails that lead them away from the village and toward productive lives. Adding learning sources outside the monotonous circle-drain of twi's doctrine.....jolts a cultist's braincells into firing new levels of thinking. Maybe, the next generation's greatest contribution will be to awaken their parents from the "medicine-man mentality."
-
Wierwille ALWAYS promoted wierwille. Wierwille ALWAYS promoted his cult. Wierwille ALWAYS promoted his corps. Wierwille ALWAYS promoted the collective. At Rome City campus.....ALL adults were to carry a wooden-spoon. Wierwille promoted the cult's collective mindset....."it takes a village" to instill discipline. Staffers were thoroughly trained or "spiritually mature" ONCE they were corps-trained or duly designated. Johnnie T0wnsend had to be given "recognized corps status" to be sanctioned by elites. John Lynn was assigned as Corps Coordinator...and designated "Way Corps 9" to be accepted. Don and Howard were publically and officially presented with corps grad status. I've often believed that "corps status" was, in wierwille's mind, the ULTIMATE surrender of self. The corps indoctrination was a 4-year "submission and obedience training".... But, really.......corps graduation status was ONLY granted by trustees by LIFELONG OBEDIENCE TO TWI. Wierwille had very little leverage over twi's CLERGY......but the corps was lamblasted continually. Very rarily.....did wierwille address clergy dissenting in those closed-corps meetings. Silly me....I thought wierwille, twi and pfal were centered on INDIVIDUALISM. Twi became a groupthink, groupact, groupwitness, groupprogram, groupmeeting organization. Weddings in twi......became a "group wedding" by the head-honcho clergyman presiding over it. Group-counseling became the order of the day.......doesn't everyone have the same problems? Wierwille spent weeks with Family Corps on "Bedside Manners"....going thru the book. Is there any wonder why 'It takes A STRONG INDIVIDUAL'.......to flee twi's village??? <_< .
-
Yeah.....every time I sat thru the pfal class and heard about wierwille's "right-hand man" Peter J. W@de, who wrote that little booklet You are Righteous Now.......I deemed him as someone I wanted to meet. But by the time I got to twi's hq.....W@de was long gone. Others some to mind who "wouldn't play ball according to wierwille's rule book"......men like Rev. L0nnel Johns0n, Rev. R0ss Tr@cy, Rev. St3ve S@nn, and many others. Anyone who thinks that twi came crashing down because of Craig Martindale, just hasn't connected all the dots yet. <_<
-
Yeah.....but with today's job market fiasco, what staffers want to jump ship from twi's dismal institutionalized existence and scramble for another job with a deadend resume'?
-
Unfortunately......it's someone many of us knew, most notably the corps/staff. Looking back, I see the branding of cult-organization as a CONDUIT OF INDOCTRINATION. 1) Targeting the youth and promoting energetic leaders to add "credibility and deception" 2) Immediate separation of friends and family from recruit 3) Expectations and anticipation built ahead of class in area 4) Regimented class schedule....no questions asked, no refunds, no turning back 5) What? Still have doubts? You NEED to sit thru pfal again, a soon as possible 6) Anyone counseled to "pray about it"....or "the holy spirit will lead you"? 7) Class series....hoops to jump....adv class awaits 8) Classes, programs, levels of spiritual maturity......and secrecy (really?) 9) HQ staff location = working at the epicenter where the man of God lives 10) Working on staff...and one observes more levels, more secrecy, an inner circle 11) Howard's and Don's office areas were always dimly lit.....and had a personal secretary 12) "Bless patrol," bodyguards, personal valets, security guards, trained dogs? What gives? 13) No community involvement, no newspapers, no one listened to the world news around them 14) Designated leadership update staff on news "filtered thru a spiritual lens" 15) Most all books, publications, teaching tapes, way mag are in-house propaganda 16) Threats and verbal attacks leveled at all who attempt to leave 17) Character assassinations were twi's m.o. on corps night 18) Trustees publicly lied about wierwille's cause of death 19) Wierwille's legacy lives.....in rewritten history 20) Man-made idolatry is one of twi's many sins Could there possibly be ANYONE left who would be graduating corps this year?
-
Yeah.....if I'd noticed the p.t. barnum bloviating first, I would have never been at the circus to begin with. But hey......I got to see lots of animals and tricks. <_<
