Yeah, I loved his enthusiasm, but the thing with holding his kid while taunting the gator was kinda out there. I s'pose it takes someone living on the edge to make those shows, but it is too bad he couldn't have slowed down a little once he had the kids. He could have lived a long life doing great wildlife stuff if he could given up being the adrenalin junkie. But he sure lived large.

I vaguely remember reading some of the info from deprogrammers in the early 80's ... I think part of their problem was they went over the top with stuff about twi being paramilitary and I think in some other areas too. Of course the sex stuff turns out to have been largely true, which I think I mostly didn't believe. But if there was an internet then, with many people giving their "testimony", it would have been more effective. Free info to the world is a good concept ... radio free Europe interent style ... hmmmm ... satellite internet and solar powered laptops ... how many laptops for the price of a couple laser guided missles, a thousand? ... China keeps trying to filter out some info ... I think google and microsoft (or some of those tech giants) get some heat for giving technology to help them do that ...

yeah, pretty random to decide the world cup ... I suggest shots on goal ... but the whole team is involved ... they all do 2 shots of jeagermeister for every shot on goal ... then they go on with the shots on goal thing, but if anyone on the team falls down, that team loses ... I think a large part of soccer is drinking anyway ... I'm just trying to help soccer, all the fans are drunk anyway, it only seems right the players should be drinking ...

I thought I'd revive these bold predictions from a year ago, about gas prices in a year. p-mosh said $4-$5 for gas for 9/7/06 (although couched as "wouldn't be surprised if it was that") I said could be $2. At the time it was like $3.20 ... it is now $2.76 and they are talking about it heading to toward $2 for Thanksgiving. Of course any action in Iran could take it to $4. Many feel barrel prices are heading up ...

Well most outer bands I've seen were just squall lines, nothing that large ... and after you said that I'd think it is probably not from a hurricane ... but it could be... maybe. I didn't really consider that someone would bother to put up a fake hurricane pic. The fact that it was used pre Isabel lends credence to it not being a hurricane at all. I don't think that curve is part of the eye wall, or of the main circulation of a hurricane. Where is Lifted Up? I wonder if some of those isolated red cells in the outer bands to the west could look like that pic. I don't see why not. It would be cool to see video of how those tornadoes get spawned of the bands, like they say happens. Anyway, nice big cloud bank with a little circular action on the tail of the cloud.

ok, well, I just did a picture search for hurricane, and this was cool ... but even snopes says ... "Even if these images did depict the approach of a hurricane, they're too old to be photographs of Hurricane Isabel " So like I said, cool pic of a nice cloud bank ... whether it is and outer band or something in the midwest, even snopes doesn't know. But snopes also said that first pic was maybe from a cyclone. I was just trying to add some atmosphere to the thread. Maybe someone will eventually recognize that structure. The curve in the big cloud bank seems big for a tornado, but small for a front? Even the weather channel guy didn't seem conclusive. In the mean time, tell me if this is a hurricane ... If I coulda found a shot of a large red splotch on Bourbon Street, I coulda said ... "there is a pic of 3 hurricanes"

Now Raf, how do you really see a hurricane? Little pieces at a time unless you are in outer space, or maybe at 60,000 feet. It says that is Isabel ... I would guess it is a small tornado maybe, spawned from an outer band ... it is not the whole hurricane ... that nice big curved bank ... hmmmm, not sure that could be a big tornado, just a nice shot. Anyway, feel free to give your interpretation.

How do you overlook rape/adultry/misuse of authority, and still get into legalism? Or does he say he has changed? Speaking of VF, he travelled with Takit? He was down in I think WV and met in some living room with other JNoisers. They went thru this little routine acting like they were coming up with the name for Takit. According to that last weather undergound update, they say it will be a tropical storm when it hits around the keys ... then they upgrade it to hurricane when it moves further up Florida. .... That doesn't make sense, it shouldn't get stronger after it hits land, even though Florida is pretty flat. I bet it bounces of southeast Florida as a tropical storm and heads into the Atlantic. That is Isabel ... but nice cloud bank there ...

This is about GS'ers about GS'ers reasoning for going easier on Mrs VPW so here we have GS'ers discussing their reasoning for going easier on Mrs VPW which directly involves what they thought about Mrs VPW ... main 2 points ... she was (perceived as) somewhat dominated, and she wasn't the key player what are the other reasons she would get a pass (relatively speaking) than because of what people thought about her? One initial question was "Does she get a free pass for being sweet?" The overwhelming response here seems to be no, not so much because she was (perceived by GS'ers to be) sweet, but because she was (perceived by GS'ers to be) controlled, or mentally abused, or whatever different opinion has been expressed here. I'm not sure how it could be more about GS'ers than having GS'ers give their opinions. Again, what kinda info are you looking for? If that is so telling, what is it telling so clearly? Her treating some people nicely is no excuse at all. If she didn't have some deep psychological inability to confront VP because of being mentally abused (or whatever proper term you want to use), then she would be held much more accountable in my book. As touching as it is that she cried about VP's badness and meanness, I have no idea what made her incapable/unwilling to take more assertive action to stop him. And to me this is more a case study that relates to many other people like aggressive Branch Leaders and nice wives ... or whatever ...
