so who paid a million bucks for that heart commercial?
  3. My point isn't about reagonomics, it is about what works for providing more jobs. The socialist view is government needs to take more from successful people. Rocky wrongly stated that less government sent jobs overseas.I'd say big government makes for a weaker economy ... as Linda noted, the waste from favoritism in her office wasted a lot of money. I see that as the big problem. Government has no one competing, so when bureaucracy gets too heavy, they just raise taxes to cover for incompetence/fraud, and squelch private industry. A little help to get people into the private sector works better than socialism, as I see it.

Dope during live piffle ... WOW ... got to keep the customer satisfied ... I guessit would be way cool to get the vince story verified ... dealin' for the lord .... lordy pete! VP had to work with vince to get him comfortable "dealing" with a group ... LOL no wonder, he was used to working in an alley, too many people lookin' at him made him paranoid? oh, and my mid 70's twig guru got "my friend" to quit smokin, and he never went back. Except for 20 years later when he tested and learned how much stronger the new stuff is. :)

  13. well, when he says "so to ask me to expose myself in front of a group of people is not threatening. It's what I do anyway" :o ... I have to wonder if that is a freudian slip, or just how he decides on using those particular words. For someone that supposedly studies the accuracy of words and wording ... couldn't he choose some better phrasing?

It seems to me animals that get shot have one of the easier deaths. The wild kingdom is totally heartless. Animals eat each other all the time, often very slowly. Just last night the little farm doggies were barking like crazy. I didn't get out fast enough to get a good shot at the coyote, and for several hours thought it had gotten one of the little dogs. Fortunately it came out from hiding later. Everybody is eating on somebody. Those cute little putty cats like to torment mice to death. To save the most life, get rid of all those bad cats. (they don't get along too well with birdies either)
  15. Your answer is "because they did"? I don't think you showed any cause and effect there. Maybe there was something about Reagonomics that caused jobs to leave, but I don't see how cutting taxes and reducing regulation could have been the cause. As I said, that makes us more competitive, not less. There is no reason those things would cause a CEO to exploit oppotunity in China, it would tend to make the US labor market more competitive. If jobs go to China and India, that happens more as the tax and regulation burden increases here. I don't have a degree in economics or business (do you?), but that seems fairly basic. Now you are saying the US was underregulated, so I'm not sure what kind of regulations you are talking about. I thought you meant things like safety or emission regulations, which tend to make us less competitive. Less governmental burden makes US more competitve. If the ownership class takes all those benefits, that will make that company less competitive with a company that reinvests those savings. Even Greenspan said the private sector uses capital more efficiently than government, so money is better left there than given to government to make up jobs. Of course this relates to the job market, but maybe not to welfare. Moving the unemployed into a productive private sector job is ideal, though some politicians believe the government offers many jobs for people that would otherwise not have jobs, which is why I used to see 12 sewerage and water board guys hanging out not working so often. It turns into a sort of "working" welfare, but they just put in their time, they don't have to compete with a better performing water board. Those public works projects had their place in the Great Depression, and maybe even today it might be a good alternative to just handing out the checks. But again, the private sector is more efficient and has to compete, so seems to me a better alternative than lifetime tenured government jobs. (like most senators seems to have)
  16. Reducing taxes and regulation should make us more competitive with China and India, not less. Why do you say those things brought about outsourcing and offshoring jobs to other countries?

I think lab rats have it good, unless they get chosen for some of the bad experiments. I suppose occassionally they are intentionally given a disease to see how they respond to various treatments. But other than that they are well fed and cared for. But what upsets me is the treatment of sewer rats. Life is tough in the ghetto sewers. They get all sorts of diseases with no socialized medical plan. They are often cold and hungry and homeless. We should provide food stations for the underprivileged rats. And heat the sewers. Oh the humanity ratanity ... If you want to make a difference, adopt a rat family today ... just send me $10/month and I will send you pictures of your rat family, and how they are improving (you can save a lot more rats for $10/month than you can starving humans) ... OK, enuff of that
  18. And as your angry avatar shows, it makes people angry ... it is a disincentive for others to work. Why should I work when they make almost as much by being a lying cheat? Fairness in the system is important.
  19. Of course excie, 'cuz I believe you are a ten cow woman ... by that I mean you could milk ten cows every morning and night. ;) Moooooo
  20. Yes, cirrhosis is what I meant ... at least I spelled psoriasis correctly. :) I think LAE was just being humorous.
  21. I don't see much wrong with the actual corps principles. Lets see how well I remember them ... 1. Acquire an indepth spiritual perceptiona nd awareness. 2. Study to show yourself approved ... blah blah 3. Physical trianing, making your physical body, the vehicle of communication of the word, as vital as possible. 4. Go forth as leader and workers in areas of concern, interst and need. 5. Drink a lot of alcohol, convince young fine things to have sex with you, ignore numbers one thru four. But really, except for 5, they were OK, it was the execution that was lame. It is easy to write up some noble ideals.
  22. No excie, I wrote it first, then it was in the senses realm where a devil spirit saw it and communicated it to you ... then by the time my post was finished, you had already been "inspired" to write yours.I also invented the internet and am peeced off that Al Gore's devil spirits stole it and let him take all the credit. (I also invented post its and global warming)
  23. yes socks .. the friends thing is strange ... I have a few, but only because I felt obligated .. I really don't like any of them. I'd like you to be my friend, but only because I'd like to tell people "yeah, socks is my friend" but I really don't like you either. So it is an interesting internet concept. I have no friends when it comes to the word ... so I think all you with friends have probably sold out to beelzebub. But really .. and I really mean really this time ... it is kinda divisional ... and there are all kinds of stats to promote your friends and have them promote you. So I'm saying, you might be my friend if you aren't listed as my friend ... the people listed as my friends are just there to make me feel like I have some friends. I really think they are as screwed up as I am.
  24. Is there a difference between the kidney and the liver? I know kidneys look like kidney beans, but you get psoriasis (sp?) of the liver. But I guess you can be delivered, if things get too bad. I just go to those psychic healers that do surgery on the cheap ... they work for beer. Clearly I am in the beer phase of my spurchal cleansing ... :)
  25. Sounds like fun, but I did hear that drinking a lot of coffee is good if you drink a lot of beer. I can't remember if it was a liver thing, but I think so. 4 or 5 beers and a pot of coffee in the morning ... works for pee, I mean me. (what happened to the strikeout thingy in text formatting?)While "The caffeine is therefore absorbed more quickly (and in higher concentration) than it is in when coffee is drunk." I do find it more satisfying and less messy to put the coffee in from the top while on the internet, as opposed to ... well, build your own image ... :)
