  1. I don't know the details of this guy ... but there may be a point where actions like his (before he killed) could be extreme enough to merit flagging him for something like buying a gun. Of course it would be dangerous precedent if it allowed Rocky to flag RonG, but this seemed a case where that might have been an option for "dealing" with this guy, even though he had not broken any laws yet.

I'll play pretend psychologist now ... "If one goes we all go" this was the adult speaking out saying please, one of you speak up please and we will all go down the mountain, I can't because my id is in charge (I forget where the superego came in) ... I forget all the freud stuff, but apparently the child was in charge ... that offer for anyone to send them down the mountain was unheeded ... it was a cult after all ... but really, that statement seems significant ... from a "here is the persona I have to portray, but here is what I really want to do" sort of way ... or maybe not, I am not a trained professional ...

Right Safari ... how can someone be cutting their toe off ... and no one is calling in the reserves ... or 911 ... whatever it is you do in the mountains ... was she a doctor? I guess there is a point where that is right .. but who had that "revelation"? Did the "yes, cut your toe off" rev come after the "big storm get the fluck off the mountain" rev? So now we wait till eyes moves her niece .. I hear the last segment is pay per view :)
  4. Congrats raf and chatty :) It has been a pleasure reading your insightful blah blah blah OK, I was promised BEER ... where is the BEER? btw, it was nice of Kathy to let raf finish his 10,000th first ... then she came along right after ... I guess you need a screen shot of the fireworks and your post with 10,000 on it Kathy ... save it is a jpg?

We had heavy snow for two days going up, almost came back. People stayed up at night to keep tents cleared. My twig coord guy had some military experience ... my feet got wet, but I put them by the fire, tried to dry the boots .. he said since toes weren't black they were still OK. Not great though ... were numb for months after that. I slept with the boots in the sleeping bag. I don't think our snow came down this fast though. I think it was late November, and it warmed up the last couple days, but we got very little climbing in. OK, back to the "100 Black Toes" story ... does that work? :o
  6. Strange excie ... because I thought exactly the same as you ... I remember enduring that psycho bus driver spiel ... and I had already heard some sheet before ... and the first thing I thought was... Oh My God ... It's ALL EXCIE'S FAULT ! :jump:
  7. The talk of losing toes ... sounds like frostbite. I had it mild, couldn't feel my toes for a month or three. We had some early cold but kept hiking up through two days of snow. I guess I didn't properly seal my leather boots, and my nice toasty sorrels weren't allowed. Finally warmed up for my solo/duo where I got the revelation "run away" which I took to mean "run a way home" Eyes, if you wrote a letter to Craig, you did more than most I bet. But I don't understand that the rest of you folks don't get the greatness of corpse night. I found that if I listen to those tapes now, after meekly drinking a fifth of drambouie, I can see the greatness of the word "A" actually that is about all I can see then ... Thank gawd I took copious notes cuz at the time the slurred words made no more sense than if it was some drunk guy struggling to make a sentence.
  8. The biggest thing was where they took the sexual conotation out .. I think ... Adultery I'm not sure it was ever "officially" taught, but the word was that VP said the Bible was referring to spiritual adultery. Whereas while God would choose the breaking of the physical bond between man and wife to express His disdain for idolatry, God really thought adultery was OK, if you were spiritual enough. Of course it was convenient to keep that insight closely held among those fellow adulterers and victims.
  9. I've used Blockbuster's mail deal a couple times. They give you three at a time, and depending on your post office, they can actually mail your next selection out when you mail yours back (rather than waiting till they actually receive it) .. the magic of bar codes I guess. Also at Blockbuster you get 2 a month free from the store, and you can always take your movies in directly to the store, eliminating the mail time altogether. I use it for 3 months or so in the winter and that is enough ... there just aren't that many movies I want to see. It seems the Blockbuster price is like $17/month for 3 at a time. I only got a couple with scratches on them.
  10. I think they sprayed all those Kenyon bricks with some sealant or something, which was darn near impossible to get off all those little windows. So that kept a crew busy for a long time. Restoring all those Kenyon stained glass windows took some time. Whatever happened to that Allen Gym project? Volunteering in the community would have played hell with the brainwashing program  I am so much more spearchal after sitting through hundreds of hours of mind numbing Corps night blather. It would have been more fair if when VP sipped drambouie, everyone sipped drambouie ... one spirit kinda thingy ...
  11. If you see Ed again ... ask him if he remembers running in the mornings summer of '75 :) I think we did a little coffee house at his folks house once. They had two grand pianos in one room as I recall. Quite the talented fellow ... and he ran pretty well too. Of course he was always so dam positive and energetic ... LOL
  12. hey hiway ... yeah, and there are different degrees of manic I suppose. I didn't underline anything, those are just words that are linked to other wikipedia articles I think. I would have underlined "grandiose delusions or hallucinations." Man of God for our time? Snow on the gas pumps? I doubt he really hallucinated that at the time, but he may have "hallucinated" the memory ... whatever that would be called ... delusional I guess. good letter Full Circle ... maybe we should all write a letter like that Dear VP I'm sorry for giggling about your early demise. ...Despite what a deluded SOB you were, I should have more respect for the dead, no matter how vile and putrid your life may have been ... something like that?
  13. someone must be finding different computers to log in on and vote against dear ductape ... it's a conspiracy ... and I'm sure there are some hanging chads ... this is why you should have to show a valid photo ID before voting ... who is that one guy that has voted 12 times now? Wasn't the vote like 16-4 at one point?
  14. VP humbled himself before me, and said he would teach me the word as it had not been ... oh nevermind, you're not going to sign my green card anyway ... Was VP manic? From wikipedia ... Mania is a severe medical condition characterized by extremely elevated mood, energy, and unusual thought patterns. There are several possible causes for mania, but it is most often associated with bipolar disorder, where episodes of mania may cyclically alternate with episodes of clinical depression. Though the elevated mood and energy level typical of mania could be seen as a benefit, mania generally has many undesirable consequences and has the potential to be very destructive. Classic symptoms include rapid speech, racing thoughts, decreased need for sleep, hypersexuality, euphoria, grandiosity, irritability, and increased interest in goal-directed activities. Mild forms of mania, known as hypomania, cause little or no impairment; more severe forms of mania do cause impairment and may even feature grandiose delusions or hallucinations. Mania and hypomania have also been associated with creativity and artistic talent.[1] Just a thought ... it seems to fit in many ways and why would you apologize for being God's chosen one?

    Any fish lovers?

neat bumpy ... it does seem that going to their home is the preferred way to view them ... Sounds like a nice price on that tuna ... so much better than 75 cents a little brown stuff in a can. Do they deliver to Illinois?

    Any fish lovers?

That must be a "ninja" hermit crab ... LOL I liked the little hermit crabs running around, but they never got any of my damsels. I did catch one walking out my front door once though ... Starfish are cool ... the hard ones you normally think of just kinda sit there or wander a little, but the ones with the long legs are pretty neat to watch.Yellow tangs seems hard to keep very long. I'd try to give them a piece of romaine lettuce to nibble at, algae was probably better. Does your water get a little dingy with no filters? I always had lotsa filters and used charcoal ... it gives it that perfectly clear look. Other than scraping the sides of the tank, there wasn't much maintenance.

    He Is Risen

From what I hear, pictures can be faked now ... I mean undetectably faked, so even in court they are not really irrefutable evidence. Just what my resident geek told me ...
  18. Good skit Mo ... Mine would have something more like A deranged and beaten man shows up in that office ... with a gun ... (something like Dan Akroyd in Trading Places ... eating fish out of his beard) but since legalities may well keep him away ... he is probably a little more sheepish now ...
  19. is there a brief explanation, for those of us without broadband? :)
  20. HE AROSE !!! glad to see you are back with us MarkO :)
  21. party on eyes and dooj I can say definitively ... after some beer, drinking wine on ice from a tumbler is generally a bad idea ... it sneaks up on you ... :) But it does have that pretty purple Easter color You wunnerful folks ... have a great weekend Try some chat eyes ... :)
  22. The world champions have lost 21 - 2 so far ... they looked pretty lame. Some new blood there ... could be a long year, plus we got blocked out of a lot of their televised games. Time to root for the cubbies and white sox I guess. Play Ball
  23. This is really not really about Carl is it? Is it about why you come to Greasespot? Bad Doojie ...
  24. Wednesday ... Friday ... who cares ... there was some neat Way Pro song? about God has rolled away the stone ... I think I had it on tape ... might have been a non official twi approved group ... those were the best. But I do remember the fun of looking under the library table for those baskets with that bright green "grass" and a bunch of jelly beans and some chocolate. And I won a bike at an Easter egg hunt once ... which I gave to my friend since I had one ... Now of course, I'll drink some beer with eyes. I gave up beer yesterday for Lent ... so since he arose Saturday at sunrise ... and it's five oclock somewhere ... I think it is safe to have some beer now ... Happy Easter
  25. Yup ... I was in a small town in West Virginia, so the storm troopers wouldn't have found us for some time anyway. LOL But I got a shot gun for me and winter wear for everyone. Even bought some junk silver, on which we actually ended up making a few bucks when we sold it. I forget what scenario was supposed to happen. Some sort of a coup? Or marshall law? Gawd ... I wonder if any of them really believed that, or it was all just a gimmick to keep us hopping?
