It said $145 to $175 /sq ft and up finished to the appliances. That doesn't include land prep work. That sounds high to me ... The idea looks interesting ... I like all the foam in the walls.

Well, I was going from memory, then I saw you had corrected it. You make fun of the rhino, you gots to expect a little poke in return :) That was the best punch line I could come up with ... Is there a "101 rhino jokes" book?

Those incandescents seem to burn out fast ... say they last 6 months ... 30 bulbs per house ... that's 60 changes a year ... I'm lazy, yes, that is a hassle... not just replacing them, but buying them, being in the dark when they burn out ... and I have to find a way to dispose of them since we don't have garbage pick up. Fortunately I am tall, so I can change those ceiling fixtures with no ladder. :) But really, if you have a rhino in your house and the lights are burned out, getting the "bubls" bulbs changed is the last of your worries ... more rhinos will not help ...

I'd heard it was 15 minutes for those long tube types, and maybe 5 minutes for the newer ones. And/or it reduces their lifetime by that much.

I'm not sure if she'll be doing any videos there. Hilton , who parlayed her name and relentless partying into worldwide notoriety, must go to jail by June 5 and she will not be allowed any work release, furloughs, use of an alternative jail or electronic monitoring in lieu of jail, Superior Court Judge Michael T. Sauer ruled after a hearing. The judge, saying "there's no doubt she knew her license had been suspended," ruled that she was in violation of the terms of her probation in an alcohol-related reckless driving case.

Nellie's birthday .... wow Happy Happy Birthday ... I'll get started on a quilt for you .......... ummm, maybe not. But have a great one.

That sounds right, but I really thought raf meant tip the wife (or significant other) at home, as with the hair thing. And then I thought, over tip her, or tip her over ... :o Dot ... glad you got all spiked up ... nothing wrong with being bold and beautiful ... :) I looked like that before, but it was from an electrical shock after drinking jagermeister ...

That came to mind for me too ... those guys didn't get the millions then, and many probably had to keep working. Seems he found a way to stay "in the ballgame". Somehow the multi million dollar guys that charge for autographs seem much less human. They will probably have body guards to keep fans away when they retire. Ahhh, to wax nostalgic ...

I'd read that the older dimmers gve off heat, but newer ones somehow actually reduced electrical usage. I think some were more energy efficient or had the Energy Star.

cool mstar ... did he autograph something for you? Of course I'm sure the talk was more valuable than any autograph ...

Burning one 100 watt bulb 10 hours/day costs about $2.41/month. (at $0.0814/kwh) So the cf's save about 75% of that. or maybe $1.80 per bulb times maybe 6 bulbs ... call it maybe $10/month in electricity. They cost more, but they last several years and I agree with George, changing the others so often is a hassle worth avoiding.

The Church "Fathers"....... losers.
rhino replied to Lone Wolf McQuade's topic in Doctrinal: Exploring the Bible
This is sorta from the outside, cuz I have no idea about all that church history ... but how do you guys feel about the King James version? I remember the thing about the intro trying to appease King James, but that the scholars or scribes, whatever, actualy were still pretty concerned about accuracy. Comments? -
Assuming that the stones will eventually get so scuzzy and impossible to clean that you'll want to remove them, I would be careful about using anything real powerful, like some of the construction adhesives. I wouldn't be surprised if they would pull the glazing right off the tub when you tried to chisel it away. Any plastic wouldn't stand a chance. Some silicone caulk would be simple.

I found this ... "In 1953 it was legal to leave your glove on the field. Before the 1954 season, major league baseball changed the rule, so that was the year the gloves came off the field." and this I think you are slightly confused. Only the outfielders would leave their gloves and they were not shared with the other team. I don't know when this practice ended, but I've heard that players began spitting on the gloves left in the field and that was pretty much the end of that practice.

It sounds like more Katrina problem than illegal alien problem. There should be some zoning rules for your case. That may be somethig else to consider when you move. Here there are nice communities on the edge of a town of 45,000 that are not incorporated. A recent discussion of an ethanol plant in close proximity to some nice housing made these people realize their exposure, since they had no zoning laws. ... another thing to consider ... Prior to the government moving people in, it seems you had a great place. You even had immigrant families that were assimilated into the area. The article Oakspear mentioned was interesting, but I think refers mostly to lower class neighborhoods, as far as lower crime rates among recent immigrants. Also I would bet that illegals and recent immigrants are less likely to report crime. But you seem clear enough about what you want, and not having to think about crime is nice. In my county there was one stolen car all year. In New Orleans I was burglarized, my car stolen, my car broken into, and my car wrecked by an uninsured motorist. I like it here better, though I miss some friends and activities ... and maybe a little bit I miss "the diversity" :) But I can always travel.

It is "conceivable" there was a good point about looking closer to home ... the real problems you see there can occur anywhere ... east TN sounds nice ... there could be benefits to staying around people/things you know ... I'm not sure how to determine if an area is ripe for "invasion". What do I know ... but I can call BS when I hear it ... cardinals lost a pitcher again ... man ...

Dot can move when us coordinators decide where she will move and give her the corpse assignement from heill Gawd . She can make requests but the final decision is ours. Thank gawd we don't do that anymore ...

Texas is more "front line" ... what do we know way up here? The inference seemed clear enough. But the real point is how completely you changed what Jonny and WG said. I guess we need another thread to discuss how the citizens of Beardstown are to pay for all the newcomers that require services that they have not paid for. Dot, you might cross that place off your list, as nice as it used to be. Those citizens may be looking for a new place along with you. I guess if foreigners claim a community, they get to keep it. Okay, back to the discussion on where to best be immersed in "diversity". (Is that required now?)

There is a special coming up here on illegal and immigrant problems in Beardstown... a small town close to me in Illinois. Sometimes there is an organized effort for illegals/recent immigrants to consolidate in certain small towns, much to the detriment of families that have been there for maybe 100 years, as mine has been here. You remember all those hunters killed in Minnesota? Could you perhaps be the one out of touch? Also, I am now in Illinois, but I was in New Orleans for 15 years. Thanks for trying to paint me as an out of touch Missouri mudfuc.. dweeb. I would like to become a country bumpkin, but those gang statements you now refer to were never about ALL illegals or ALL immigrants as you pretended. This is an important subject which I would be happy to continue.
-
Tom, you made some serious accusations on WG and Jonny and "others" based on statements you completely changed from what they said. Either back them up somehow (no way) or admit to it. Don't run away with "whatever" Oh, and you weren't very nice to Dot either ...

Take the quiz: Are you a Heretic?
rhino replied to wrdsandwrks's topic in Doctrinal: Exploring the Bible
Well, if I made a list of women I was most attracted to in New Orleans days, if hispanic were the top 5 would that make me racist? :) aaaaiiiiieeeYEEEEE !!!! Hell may not be so bad ... I have some friends in LA ... haven't spoken to them in years ... cousins somewhere around there ... are you saying Californie is the place I wanna be ... should I load up my truck and move to Bever Leee ? -
what statements were those? I missed them completely. Jonny never said anything like what you just said. WateredGarden said nothing like what you claimed. Of course you'd like no one to respond ... when you make those outrageous statements. that is your philosophical view ... they are greatly different because of the culture they grew up in. The point of maintaining a national identity is that is something that our "national family" has built. Mexico is what it is because of what they have built. But as you say, everyone wants to come here. Why condemn people that expose the problems of bringing in large numbers of outsiders that are not becoming American? WOW ... not judgmental at all ... NOT! you said a ton more than just that. You could have that dialogue with just her if you wanted, she would probably talk with you on the phone, but you want to make those remarks on an open forum, then preempt anyone from commenting back. My view is you are not only PC, but WOW over the top PC. Man ....

I was excommunicated in 410 (or was it 451? fahrenheit 451?), so I guess I won't be seeing some of you that survived that purge. I'm not quite sure if they will have gang bangers in hell, or if that is part of the cultural diversity that will be enjoyed in heaven. And you thought this was a different topic. btw, fahrenheit needs to be added to the spell check, or do they use my spell check? -
"top left block, no idea why" all those figures are 2 upside down numbers that touch, one of the pair is mirrored 11 22 33 44 55 then 66 is the answer I'm stuck on the pie with the missing letters ... the answer is NNB it must progress around somehow? How do you google a graphic?
