  1. Thomas, Sorry about that. That verse wasn't really explaining the whole story. If you read the account, you can see that Jesus knew Lazarus would die and he would raise him up. That's why he knew it was "not unto death." Not a death that would last, anyway. No one knew he was going to raise Lazarus up, but himself. If you can read it, you'll see what it's saying.
  2. Furthermore, "When Love laid the foundations of this mighty universe, He planned, He purposed it all to be the Home of His Man. It was to be Man's birthplace, Man's Garden of Delight, Man's University where he would learn to know his Father God."
  3. Kenyon said is rather well: There is a grand focal objective in every step of creation. ...Science has given no adequate reason for Creation. If Creation is a child of blind, unreasoning, undesigning chance, Chance is a miracle woker and worth of our adoration."
  4. I Cor. 2:14 "...the natural man receives not the things of the spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him; and he cannot know them, because they are spiritually understood." God came down to our level, by contacting us through our senses, hence, the written Word. That's how we get to know him. How many people who don't want to know God would actually read the Bible to prove His existence?
  5. Mike, I had the wonderful privilege of transcribing Bishop Pillai's teachings when I worked in HQ. You really made some wonderful points about the omission stuff.
  6. Thomas, John 11:4 makes it pretty clear that Jesus knew Lazarus' sickness was "not unto death, but for the glory of God that the Son of God might be glorified thereby." The apostles thought that Jesus would be killed if he went to Lazarus. Where was their belief? CM, I think he certainly wept with compassion seeing the people he loved brokenhearted, but also knowing that if they trusted in him, they wouldn't have to suffer.
  7. Is not God the object of our affection, worship, etc.? An object would be a noun. A person, place or thing. If anyTHING, God would be a Proper Noun. But, He isn't really a thing, maybe the thing, no that doesn't sound right, either. What kind of question is this anyway? A trick?
  8. Some interesting stuff lately. Haven't had as much time as I'd like to get in on it, but have been reading as I can. Only one thing popped out at me to question. The verse "Jesus wept." Did he weep because Lazarus died? He knew that was going to happen. I think he wept at the unbelief surrounding him, because he also knew he would bring Lazarus back from the dead. Hate for my only comment to be negative, but perhaps it will shed some light to someone.
  9. I guess we'll really know how many before it's all over. Though it will never be all over. As I heard today, we need to realize we will have a NEW NORMAL. Things will never be normal again here in Baton Rouge or surrounding areas. Although New Orleans is getting most of the coverage, many other Louisiana communities are shut down. No hope for power for 2 to 2-1/2 months. Kids need to go to school. People need jobs, people need housing. Baton Rouge alone has probably doubled in population this past week. I seriously wonder if we can hold that many people. I am sickened by the news updates and the racial overtones that have popped up. The clear fact of the matter is New Orleans had a huge poverty population. The people who didn't evacuate were mostly the poor, the sick, the helpless, the homeless. And, of course, the thick-headed. Overwhelming? Absolutely!! But someone "in charge" better realize that putting these refugees in a chair is no more than a band-aid. Has anyone addressed the issue of how many people are de-toxing right now? How desperate people are and will become? People are not only homeless, they are jobless, too. What of people who have no knowing of God and His Word?
  10. If there's a question in there somewhere, I missed it. I think you know where he will come from and the glory to be revealed in us will be revealed when he comes. I've had to deal with death a lot lately. Not just on a personal level, but, hey, I live in Louisiana. You try and tell someone from New Orleans that death is finished. I believe death will be the last enemy to be destroyed.
  11. Alfaromero? It also says they went after strange flesh. It was strange to them. I totally agree!! Anyway, perhaps I should change my original question to ask if anyone ever met a good or a bad angel. ANYONE had that experience? It's kind of like UFO's to me. If so many people have seen them, why haven't I? Do I doubt their existence? UFO's--maybe. Angels--no.
  12. Kenyon wrote: "how it thrills the heart to realize that this earth of ours, so small that one thousand of them can be lost in the sum, is the center and reason for the universe. . . . When Love laid the foundations of this mighty universe, He planned, he purposed it all to be the home of His man. It was the be man's birthplace, man's garden of delight, man's university where he would learn to know his father God. . . . He filled earth's bosom with deposits of iron, copper, silver and gold ... metals, chemicals and resources that would respond to the touch of His man. He covered the face of the Earth with mountains, valleys, ravines, plateaus and prairies, lovely rivulets and mighty rivers, and a garment of green intermingled with many colored flowers that thrilled with joy the hert of His man." Talk about the universe . . . .
  13. Do basketball players fit this profile? Just joking . . . . Yes, I do believe the Bible backs up plus alot of other things science would do well to accept. However, I am confused about the seed aspect. Offspring, etc. Although angels appear to be human, they are not. Also, these particular angels are not the only fallen angels. Have you ever wondered why there are so many accounts in the gospels of devil spirits and why speaks of them today?
  14. Roy, why isn't this book of Enoch part of the Bible as we know it? I will check it out when time allows. Where are you getting the children of God = children of Enoch from? Happy trails!!
  15. VERY FUNNY, DANNY! Roy, 2027? What's the meaning of that? I was referring to Genesis 6:4. These giants were the cause of the flood. See v. 5-8. Even your reply had "sons of God" as angels. Jude 6 says, "the angels...left their own habitation," habitation being used only one other time in II Cor. 5:2, "desiring to be clothed upon with our housewhich is from heaven", house and habitation...same Greek word. Jude 7 says their sin was like unto Sodom and Gomorrah. See II Peter 2:4-7. Gen. 6:4 also says that this wasn't the only time these angels were around. It says also after that. There are some awesome comments about this by Bullinger in App. 25 of his Bible. Like, perhaps an explanation of Greek mythology, or what they might have had to do with the huge buildings in Egypt, that have thus been unexplainable. Happy trails!!!
  16. What???!!! I thought the question was relatively simple. You are making me wonder if perhaps you (or me) are on another planet . . . .
  17. We are still on dry ground here in Baton Rouge, with electricity presently. Heartsick about New Orleans and the people who live/lived there. It's pretty much history. I'm sure we'll see more in the days to come. Anyway, was Jesus not DEAD for three days? Did he WITNESS TO or was he A WITNESS TO the spirits? Before or after the three days & nights? I guess we could go on and on . . . . This is too much for me, so, can someone tell me how to copy what someone else types? You know, how to copy a reply into your reply? That should be something that could be answered without an argument, no?
  18. David, thanks for the heads up. So, in your opinion there is a good chance these verses were added? I'm not being sarcastic, just putting out the fire before it starts.
  19. Danny Boy, I'm happy for you. But, I WAS serious. :D-->
  20. Perhaps the best justice is standing before God in our own shoes, not someone else's?
  21. Anyone ever meet a good angel? Anyone have any thought on how the fallen angels did it with humans?
  22. His Jesus stuff was a bit out there, but you still had to laugh. He thinks like most of us used to, I would imagine, huh?
  23. Actually, 24 years of thursdays. E. 224th St.
  24. I love Dennis Leary. His show is real. I do wonder, however, what the NY firemen think of it??
