I don't know about y'all, but ever since a scene in Jurassic Park I haven't been able to use my outhouse. Got indoor plumbing . . . .

born again with/without Trinity

Mark, I agree with Danny...with the trinity, without the trinity...one pill makes you larger, one pill makes you small... -
Did Jesus own his own personal scroll of the O.T.?

Hammer, Although the scriptures may not give us the answer, society, history and legacies do help. I would have to vote NO. He did not have his own copy. IE -

A little bit of a sidetrack here. (In case someone doesn't know.) I got to see the Dead Sea Scrolls exhibit earlier this year. They were written on animal skins and you could actually see where they were sewn together to make them longer or wider. The massorah was evident on some (I thought that awesome). There were biblical scrolls and historical. It is said that most of the Bible had been recaptured in the caves, but are now preserved in Jerusalem. Some of the exhibit showed mere minute pieces of a scroll that made a modern-day puzzle look like a stroll (scroll?) in the park. These scrolls must have been extremely precious in Jesus' day. Are there some who think Jesus was born actually knowing all that was written? Were would the human part come in if that were true? IE -

Of course he GREW. He had to learn how to speak, walk, etc. He was born a BABY. One interesting (?) fact was also the lineage of Mary and Joseph. We are not talking about spiritual idiots there. They were bluebloods. They were believers, not in name only either. IE -

If memory serves, the parents and/or grandparents passed down the teachings to their children. We would need to assume Joseph and Mary were both pretty fluent, as were other family members, like Elizabeth, John the Baptist's mother (Mary's cousin, I think?) They were pretty adept at considering angels' appearances real, at least. And obeying what most men wouldn't have even spoken of. I first thought of when Jesus was 12 and was sitting in the temple with the elders--when he left his parents. The scribes and pharisees wondered the same thing. How did he know such things? I guess we need to remember that Jesus' memory must have been remarkable, considering his Father. His genes must have enabled him to do more than the average person, even at 12. Would genius be part of his heritage? I would think so. I would also add at this time that he must have been physically beautiful as well. I don't know if there's any truth to the old saying that we only used 10% of our brains, but if there is, I bet it didn't pertain to Jesus. IE -
Just to clarify something. I was talking to an old Way buddy today and made my "crisis" remark, i.e., living from crisis to crisis. She quickly reminded me my life is not THAT bad, so I had to tell her my definition of "crisis" which in my vernacular can mean anything from pulling off a birthday party to getting my 2004 income taxes finished (almost done with those). Thanks, Penguin. And thanks, Sunny. Sorry to hear of your losses. Thank you for understanding. IE -
WW: Who are the Christadelphians? Mike, thanks for taking the time to answer with all those verses. I am greatly anticipating a good time looking them all up. I have so enjoyed the last couple of weeks being able to check in and get feed back, etc. Especially hard times right now. My "baby" brother died last night. I have to learn how to live without him. He has been the longest constant in my life. But, I also have a wonderful support group with my husband and remaining family and our church family. Sometimes I feel like I live from one crisis to the next, but, it's the in-betweens that keep us all going. I need to thank God for my life everyday!

Sunny, Awesome facts about carrying on the Word by mouth. It's a wonder we have anything accurate when you think of the game of "telephone." Of course, I think there was the spirit of God at work also. Sorry for being so argumentative last night. My brother had been on the verge of dying for a few days and he did in fact die early this morning. After my Mom called, I made a cup of tea and opened up my Bible to Psalms and just happened to go to Psalm 116. "Precious in the sight of God is the death of one of his saints." It is the little things in life that sometimes take care of the big. IE -

Sunny, Do you mean that trinitarians don't really know that they don't believe in the trinity? I was raised to believe in the trinity and never heard your definition before. I would guess I'm not alone. Essence never entered "three persons in one God" discussions. Mystery, however, always entered the definition. It seems a mystery to me how one would know Christ was dressed as Krishna, as opposed to Krishna being dressed as Krishna, or Eagle-feather, etc. Jesus Christ wasn't hanging at airports banging a tamborine. He wasn't smoking peyote to give people peace. Seems the only way to know him is to read him; i.e., the Word. Personally, no I can't say in my heart of hearts that I believe Jesus was God. But, I do believe I am a Christian and it doesn't matter to God if I believe in the trinity, true or not. I think all of this bothers us more than it bothers God. --> -
This is really curious. I think Boaz was in the royal bloodline and Ruth helped things along, no? Boaz was related to Ruth's husband. They could easily have had the same name, huh? So, now I am totally confused, but I don't have the time to stop and look it up now. Any input? -->

We go to a Methodist Church with a really awesome youth group for our 11 (soon to be 12) year old. The Methodists are rather liberal, won't throw out the bathe water with the baby type. Actually, it was our tweenager who really wanted to go to church which made us decide to go back to something. I got involved in a bible study last year called Disciple and am helping to run it this year. It gave me a brand-new prospective and respect for things unknown and a conviction for things known. At least I can add my two cents without being judged. :D-->

Did you own the doll by that name? What a thing to call yourself. I only remember one Kathy back then and I hope you're not her. Anyway, I found some neat stuff since this a.m. and you are very right. She was asking him to marry her. Talk about women's lib!! Queen of the Night!

Evan, try pulling out some old music and listening to that instead. Linda, did you mean where's Algiers? It's on the West Bank and it didn't flood and there's probably a golf course there somewhere. Ha. Didn't recognize the names you used. Until someone decides to give us a death toll we cannot get on with it. No way we will be 201 like Mississippi (last count I heard anyway). We are facing the "new normal" only we don't know what that is yet. Hello, hello, I'm in a place called Vertigo.

There's something happening here ... What it is ain't exactly clear ....

A friend staying with us lives/lived in Algiers. Her son went to get some clothes the other night and he said although their house was okay the stink of all New Orleans was unbearable. The sewer systems are in the standing water, the heat, the dead. What worries me is that this water is supposedly being pumped into Lake Ponchartrain and ultimately into the Gulf. What about the toxins? -->

I need some help here. Does anyone know why Ruth laid at Boaz' feet? What the custom was?

so curious...are you saying that God is an object again?"No, I believe that would make God the subject. "if so, what might that do to the rest of your statement in that post?" Did I contradict myself? What was my objective anyway? "And so, again, is God ever an object?" Yes, He is the object of our affection, etc. "Are both father and Father objects?" Now, you are really get picky... "Is this Love that laid the foundation some sort of object?" No, that would be the foundation. Yes, we could go on all day. I may not know all the rules of English, but I know the concept most of the time. It was my job in this great star-spangled universe of ours.
