Mike, I realize that you think your experience is unique...and to the extent that we *ALL* are unique, what you think is so. Mike...at this stage of life, I would far rather struggle with the fragments, snippets, etc. than go back to somebody's hash of somebody else's thoughts about their understanding of said fragments and snippets. I think any objective third party would see far more depth and merit in the writings of Paul than of Victor Paul. And rehashing Norman Vincent Peale and Albert Cliffe and calling that a re-issuing of God's Word...well, I would not want to answer to Him for that kind of swill. was driving back from kork brother's wedding in Stockton, CA at about midnite, wedding was at 3pm followed by reception so you do the math re: the BAC. My friend Larr* B*oth was already fast asleep(passed out??) and I was on I-5 south of Stockton when I awoke with a start to find myself driving in the "infield" which was quite wide and level on that portion of road. Doin' about 70, wheels pointed straight ahead, only minor bouncing and shaking. The adrenaline rush kept me wide-eyed for another 15 miles or so where I proceeded to nod off again. I pulled off freeway, parked on on-ramp for about an hour, woke up and drove back to where we were staying the night(what was left of it) LB wakes up about half an hour after I got back on freeway and asks if he missed anything??? I said nah, nothin'...

oldies -- why not go get that limb and region guy's name and head over....'cept I don't think they give a rat's a$$ about piffle anymore....but at least the folks see life in the nice, safe 2 dimensions you seem to...

oldies-- yeah, seems like the first one went in when it was REALLY evil, black and a semi-swamp/toxic-waste dump. I know it was cleaned and enlarged and this and that many times over in later years but I do know that the the first time it was cleaned, in the spring of our first year there, some unbelievably gross stuff was mucked out. I seem to remember Diane DeB. Sch******t driving backhoe when it was being cleaned. We could go swimming that year, May, June and July and it was not bad but ya did need to shower up right qwik...it still had a slightly funked tang to it...not for wearing to Sun. Night Service.... :D--> :P--> -->

Hope, I was there... were you in the other block with Evan and Catcup?? I thought you were with me at Emporia first..maybe not. That scene with MMK's fiance was the most surreal thing I experienced in res. He is standing in front of the whole RomeCity body at dinner, telling us how happy he is to be getting married to such a wonderful woman and all; her parents there for the engagement announcement and all. He has a heart attack right at the front table and we all go on prayer alert, setting up schedules for 24 hour, etc. I think we got the news he didn't make it sometime around 10 pm that evening. It was not your everyday wayworld thing; ambulance screaming up to the door at RC and loading the guy up and all...it was definitely culture-shock time at wayville.

Evan is in Africa at the moment, I believe. Not only Evan, but at least 7 other korks, including, horror of horrors, a moon of the female persuasion!! Dey all MUSTA been damn pozazzed!!! And to top it off, it was captured on film...ACK!! Awaiting Evan to return and fill in details....
