  1. Maybe no one cares, maybe some do. Here's a list of ex-twi musicians, and their recordings. :) (I'm thinking you'll see some familiar names there.) ;) Believer Music.
  2. John S. can open up, and teach the OT like no one else. :)
  3. Garth -- hey there. :) I can't say anything about the Saturn, but two friends of mine have the Taurus. Surprisingly enough -- the taurus gets GREAT GAS MILEAGE (about 40 mpg). (I didn't believe it at first, but this is a co-worker of mine, and she is to be believed). :) Everything I have heard about Saturn, is all positive as well. May I suggest a third option?? Subaru. I used to be a truck guy. 4 X 4 Dodge, Toyota, and Mazda. Still am, but I bought a Subaru car (about) two years ago. It's a 2001 Legacy (sedan), 4 door, all-wheel drive, and it had 86,000 miles on it when I got it. It's a pleasure to drive, and the gas mileage is 30+ mpg when out on the open road. Traveling 90 mph feels like a Sunday drive. (I got pulled over in Wisconsin by the *locals* there last year, coming home from Indiana to Minney-soda --doing 87 in a 55 mph zone). :( (Read *Big Bucks Fine here*) Dad gum car was SOOOO smooth -- I didn't realize I was going that fast! Up here -- all-wheel drive (4 X 4) is maybe more important than where you are, but the handling of the car is superb, given the all-wheel drive. So give Subaru a thought as well. :) And regardless of what you are looking at -- check out CAR FAX. Get the Vin number of the car you are looking at. If you are serious about getting it, it'll cost you a few bucks to access this site, but the info you will get on that specific vehicle will be well worth it.:)
  4. Another spot -- you're right. It IS healthy to welcome and consider opposing viewpoints. However -- given the indoctrination handed down by twi, it was something I rarely indulged in. When I first left, I tried a few other churches. Why?? I don't know. Perhaps a sense of wanting to belong, perhaps a sense of *duty*, or perhaps just an ingrained thing from childhood. Who knows?? I don't. But regardless of *whatever-the-reason-was*, I attended the new groups with an attitude. I walked into the service with my Bullinger Bible (complete with notes from twi classes), and sat in the back waiting for them to say something contradictory, to what I had (cough!!) already determined to be true. Needless to say -- I was missing out on the main purpose of the service. It took me a while to leave the attitude behind, and see the main purpose of the service. Twi did a good job of messing with my head, convincing me that they (and ONLY they) were right. True story --- A friend of mine (wonderful cello player) suggested I check out one of the Baptist churches here in town. She attended it occassionally and I was impressed that she liked it, because she comes from a Oneness Pentecostal background. (FYI -- Oneness Pentecostal teaches that Jesus is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit all rolled into one). For her to suggest a trinitarian church piqued my interest, so I went one Sunday. Imagine my surprise, when I walked in and saw 4 or 5 ex-way folks there! They were all glad (and surprised) to see me. No condemnation or any of that crap. After the service they introduced me to the pastor, and told him I played fiddle, mandolin, banjo, and guitar. The pastor never asked about what I thought about the sermon, or the service that day. He started talking music, he was interested in me as a person. He broke the ice that twi had placed upon my heart. It was from that point on that I started realizing that these folks are people -- just like me. It was at this point I saw that they have ideas and beliefs as well -- though not necessarily the one's I hold. Are they right and I'm wrong? Am I right and they are wrong? These days I don't care about that. While I can still be opinionated about certain things, it's much easier (these days) to consider what other's think, and see their viewpoint as valid, rather than dismissing it summarily. I saw a bumper sticker on a car here the other day, and it says it all. Minds Are Like Parachutes ~~~ They ONLY Function When Open :)
  5. Thanks for that link Mike! A blast from the past!! Where's Larry P2 anyway (these days)?? ;) There's other classic quotes from that thread, but this one caused me to have to *clean the screen*! Sorry for the de-rail. Back to topic. :D
  6. You'll find out at the return, and YES -- it was a baby. A living human being. The twi *compassion* sickens me. What a "ministry", eh??? :(
  7. No --- it's the Zig Zag man!!
  8. In an attempt to get this back *on topic*, I did change a few of my beliefs. While the *circumstances of my exit from twi* had little (if anything) to do with it, I started attending other churches and listened to a positive message instead. I'm still of the opinion that some of what twi taught was correct, but I no longer take it as *Gospel*, just because they taught it. Docvic and lcm taught a lot with no *proof*, other than their say-so. I used to be able to live with that, but not anymore. Of the various churches I've attended since my exit from twi, I've been confronted with doctrine that I disagreed with. However -- given the overall attitude of love and community I saw there, it made me think that perhaps doctrine wasn't the *end-all* that I used to think it was. While I still hang on to certain beliefs, seeing those folks walking the talk, helped me see that doctrine is a small slice of this pie called life. As it stands now for me -- doctrine is on the back burner. I see sincerity in a lot of folks (and yes -- sincerity is NO guarantee for truth), but given the collective actions of the various denominations I've been to, they offer MUCH more than twi ever did. So when they say something that rubs me the wrong way (theologically), instead of immediately criticizing, I try to look at it from their perspective. For me --- that is a GIANT leap forward. Those churches are similar to this site here. There's a multitude of opinions, beliefs, ideas, etc., here at GSC. If I choose to read here (and I do), I need to learn to accept other's viewpoints. Mine is nice, but that doesn't negate someone else's which can be equally valid. I'm not the *Gung-Ho* wayfer I used to be. I actually like hearing differing viewpoints (these days). Life would be boring, if it only consists of *yes* men.
  9. Twi is like the proverbial Christmas fruitcake that Grandma sends you. Even though it's sent to you, it's inedible and no one wants it. No one thinks of throwing it in the trash (where it belongs), but rather it's sent on to someone else who doesn't want it either. Twi will be passed along like that fruitcake, until the last member is too feeble to send it to someone else. And that might take a while since they don't know a trash bucket, even if it were to slap them up-side of the head.
  10. wrdsandwrks ---HERE'S JUST ONE OF THE PFAL THREADS. ;)
  11. Docvic re-wrote anything and everything you'll read in the OT and the NT. Not only will you find his *revelations* in the pfal books, they are also to be found in all Way magazine articles as well. And audio tapes don't count. It's the WRITTEN word, not the SPOKEN word. Study to show yourself approved, but study pfal. The bible doesn't count. Any questions --- ask Mike. ;)
  12. This is EXACTLY why I think EVERYONE should be armed. Granted -- there are nut-cases out there. But the sane society outnumbers them by far. If he knew he was going against many guns versus none, this wouldn't have happened. (imo). More guns equals less crime. Carrying a gun equals responsibility. Cops can't always get to the scene in time. If something is happening to ME (as in right now), I'm not waiting to dial 911.

  14. Mr H. -- If you really want to *gawwt it*, pick up your phone and dial 1-888-255-6189. If they are unfit, you can find out for yourself, by questioning the principal folks at that number. I did, and you can do the same. While I have questions myself, I see statements like that (as well as entire threads in the *ABOUT THE WAY* forum), as cheap shots that (while questioning the validity of twi, etc.,) demean the quality of GSC, and the purpose for which we are here. Sometimes I wonder if we aren't all back in high school engaging in gossip. I for one, have NO PROBLEM with exposing the evils of twi, ces, etc. Maybe we can raise the bar, and engage in serious discussion, rather than making flippant comments. Do what you will, and I'll do the same. As usual -- this is my (imo). I've been ignored too many times to think that this post might have some credence to it. But I will say -- GSC deserves better than what is being offered (these days). (edited for spelling).
  15. ARTICLE HERE Close the borders. We have too many jerk-offs here now, without allowing more coming in to fugg up *life as we know it*. Assuming the article is true (and it may or may not be), we don't need extraa$$holes mandating THEIR wishes upon US (Read --- U.S.), by firing guns in a college setting (or anywhere else for that matter).

Yea -- the [url= thing goes first, then instead of HERE (or whatever word) after that, insert the url of the img, close the url tag, and the pic shows up as a live link. :)
