  1. P.S. -- Hey there Larry N Moore! Welcome to GreaseSpot Cafe!
  2. For what it's worth --- I'm a *fan* of Bullinger. He does promote the trinity, in his works. (And an extra --- *For what it's worth* --- ), I remember docvic teaching once that had EWB lived a few years longer, he would have seen the error of his ways (concerning the trinity). Like I said -- *For what's it's worth*. :)
  3. Posted by Mr. Hammeroni: (our *resident rodent* ;) --- with an insight that can't be beat!!), on the reincarnation thread --- :eusa_clap:
  4. * Lawyer: "What is your date of birth?" * Witness: "July 15th." * Lawyer: "What year?" * Witness: "Every year." * Lawyer: "Can you tell us what was stolen from your house?"* *Witness: "There was a rifle that belonged to my father that was stolen from the hall closet." * Lawyer: "Can you identify the rifle?" * Witness: "Yes. There was something written on the side of it." * Lawyer: "And what did the writing say?" * Witness: "'Winchester'!" * Lawyer: "What gear were you in at the moment of the impact?" * Witness: "Gucci sweats and Reeboks." * Lawyer: "This myasthenia gravis -- does it affect your memory at all?" * Witness: "Yes." * Lawyer: "And in what ways does it affect your memory?" * Witness: "I forget." * Lawyer: "You forget. Can you give us an example of something that you've forgotten?" * Lawyer: "What was the first thing your husband said to you when he woke that morning?" * Witness: "He said, 'Where am I, Cathy?'" * Lawyer: "And why did that upset you?" * Witness: "My name is Susan." * Lawyer: "Sir, what is your IQ?" * Witness: "Well, I can see pretty well, I think." * Lawyer: "Did you blow your horn or anything?" * Witness: "After the accident?" * Lawyer: "Before the accident." * Witness: "Sure, I played for ten years. I even went to school for it." * Lawyer: "Trooper, when you stopped the defendant, were your red and blue lights flashing?" * Witness: "Yes." * Lawyer: "Did the defendant say anything when she got out of her car?" * Witness: "Yes, sir." * Lawyer: "What did she say?" * Witness: "'What disco am I at?'" * Lawyer: "How long have you been a French Canadian?" * Witness: "He was about medium height and had a beard." * Lawyer: "Was this a male or a female?" * Lawyer: "I show you Exhibit 3 and ask you if you recognize that picture." * Witness: "That's me." * Lawyer: "Were you present when that picture was taken?" * Lawyer: "Do you know how far pregnant you are now?" * Witness: "I'll be three months on November 8." * Lawyer: "Apparently, then, the date of conception was August 8?" * Witness: "Yes." * Lawyer: "What were you doing at that time?" * Lawyer: "She had three children, right?" * Witness: "Yes." * Lawyer: "How many were boys?" * Witness: "None." * Lawyer: "Were there girls?" (And finally -------------------- THE 2 WISE GUYS!!) * Lawyer: "Now sir, I'm sure you are an intelligent and honest man--" * Witness: "Thank you. If I weren't under oath, I'd return the compliment." * Lawyer: "Doctor, before you performed the autopsy, did you check for a pulse?" * Witness: "No." * Lawyer: "Did you check for blood pressure?" * Witness: "No." * Lawyer: "Did you check for breathing?" * Witness: "No." * Lawyer: "So, then it is possible that the patient was alive when you began the autopsy?" * Witness: "No." * Lawyer: "How can you be so sure, Doctor?" * Witness: "Because his brain was sitting on my desk in a jar." * Lawyer: "But could the patient have still been alive nevertheless?" * Witness: "Yes, it is possible that he could have been alive and practicing law somewhere."
  5. Hey Socks --- Did you come to Duluth Minney-soda in 1978 with Joyful Noise?? Joyful Noise showed up here, and played a gig at The Uncle Harry Coffeehouse --- (Which was an old church owned by Gene and Debbie Ne$g0da). Jest curious. ;)

And Garth -- while I appreciate the humor, I feel like I made an egregious mistake, by judging what he believes versus my personal opinions. It's not easy posting a public apology out here where all can see it. But I felt compelled to do it. This is something in keeping with a lot of what you have *preached* in the past. So let's let it go at that, eh?? :)

The only Mary I used to *hail* -- was my ex!!
  8. Whomever (dying in the service of the country), put country first -- over (whatever beliefs) they may have held, while they lived. It's a travesty that the country can't honor their beliefs, after they have given the ultimate sacrifice, in service of the country. A Pentacle is no different than the Star of David, or a Cross, or an Open Bible, or a way tree, when it comes to the tombstone. The faith is the only difference between the soldiers. The common denominator is that *they gave all*. For this country (USA) to deny them that small modicum of respect, (regardless of who they were or what they believed --- ) SUCKS! There should be NO question --- whatsoever!

Rev Dcn Joe -- I made some nasty comments about your beliefs you shared on the podcast. Even though I was able to delete them -- It's bugging me that I said it in the 1st place. (Is there such a place as a cyber-confessional booth)?? If so --, I'd like to say I'm sorry. You deserved better. I've got my own issues, and I should not have taken them out on you. Thanks for your forgiveness. You're a better man than I. David
  10. My 2 cents worth --- I was raised Catholic. Always believed in the trinity. Somewhere along the road of life -- the trinity was something I starting seeing in my rear view mirror. JCING was published in 1975. I got married that year. Both my (then) wife and I had our own copies, and brought them along with us on the honeymoon. Our first stop (once we started the honeymoon from southern Indiana), was in Chicago. We visited a friend there, who was an awesome banjo picker, and devout Christian. He could NOT BELIEVE that we had that book (actually two of them), and that we had actually planned to read them during *our time*. Well -- that was then. Fast forward 30 some years. Raf made an accurate statement about Buzzard and CES, and the books produced by them. I've got both those books -- and when I compare them to what docvic *wrote* -- you're looking at kindergarten (docvic), versus PHD (Buzzard and CES). For what it is worth -- docvic presented a premise. It was nothing more than a *schoolbook* for children. There was little (if anything) about *research*. Compared to the two (previously mentioned) works --- on page 177 of JCING (under the title *RESOURCES*) it says Ya know what??? -- CES and Buzzard BOTH list ALL their *resources* within the covers of their books. For that matter -- so did Eagle -- and he is getting shot down for *heresy* Docvic wrote a book. So what?? The only *resources* I see listed are scriptures, and NO reference to ANYTHING else, that might lead to that conclusion. Shucks -- docvic said it himself -- right there in pfal. (You all know how the rest of this goes) --- Methinks he chose to *prove* (and got published) thoughts harbored, with No other documentation (at least unless you want to send a *snail mail* to them. Perhaps all our ABS money didn't allow for proper financing --- for listing even ONE of those 428 books, in the back of JCING. And docvic's book is worthy?? As it's been said here before --- NO WAY!! :)
  11. Alaska, where women win the Iditarod and men mush poodles!
  12. Pond has a valid point -- given certain *services* (medical, etc.) offered to the public. One of the best co-workers I have is a young female, studying for a career in nursing, and has multiple tattoos (all hidden, with the exception of her right ankle). For whatever reason -- the subject of tattoos came up,and she made the comment that --- if she was to realize a job in her chosen field (nursing) -- she could have NO visible tattoos. So she chose hers wisely, with a view for a good job after graduation. Which led to further discussion about how it might be viewed as *nothing*, by future patients she might have 20 years from now. I'm guessing her ankle tattoos won't *disintegrate* like the others she may have, (where ever she may have them -- on bodily parts unknown -- to me). Personally -- I'm "old school" like Waysider and Geo. Don't care for them myself, but it's all about a person's choice. Several of my co-workers have them, as well as one of the clients. That would be Loren, and he's turning 76 years old this coming Saturday.
  13. Yea -- that was pretty much it, Waysider. :) If I recollect correct, docvic had a session in pfal where he spoke about orientalisms. I could be wrong, but I don't think it was about *numerology*. I'm thinking he was trying to point out the difference between cultures. Perhaps Mike, What The Hey, Motor Head, or other docvic apologists could tell us EXACTLY, as to what session it might have been in, what was said, etc. I seem to remember him talking about American's *quick acceptance* to invitations, whereas the Eastern culture folks would demure, protest, then finally accept, as if convinced against their will, and that it was somehow better than our culture now. And while reading your post -- it got me thinking of something I've not thought of before. Docvic was willing to *teach* that entity in pfal, but he NEVER did practice it. Can you imagine him *constraining* anyone??? About anything?? I can't. What he wanted -- he got, and right then and there. The word *constraining* wasn't in his vocabulary, when it came to his *personal needs*. One more *Do as I say, Not as I do" from the MOG.
  14. That belongs in GreaseSpot gems. :)

    I soloed today

    CONGRATULATIONS!! :)
  16. Shucks --- while I'm at it -- Here's two clues to the title of another song. Those who listen to music -- surely must know the answer, eh?? ;)
  17. Not really. (But again -- thanks for the invite). :) I could participate if songs from groups like Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver, , , New Grass Revival, etc., were mentioned ---but I have yet to see a listing there with one of those artist's songs. I got *hijacked* from *Top Pop* radio back in the early 1970's, when I got turned on to Bluegrass. I listen to music all the time -- but it's not the music discussed in *Name That Tune". Not that *yours* is bad, and *mine* is good --- There's a chasm there that can't be breached. Here's a tune for you to name --- Two words -- VERY famous fiddle tune written by BXXX XXXXXE (At least for some of us afficianados -- sp?). So -- name that tune. (or don't you listen to music??) :) (edited to add links above)

  19. Hmmmmm. Good point (er). Maybe they meant ------ "Here-a-Tic, There-a-Tic, Everywhere-you-look-a-Tic. Ole Doc Wierwille had a farm, And not a poodle to be found!" :) WOOPS!! Wrong thread! (My apologies -- dog-gone it!)
  20. No ---Thank YOU!! Great tune! Never heard it before. It's got a good *bluegrass* feel to it. A real toe-tapper. Love that mando in there. :)
  21. Eagle -- Thanks for taking the time to do the research and writing that you did. I've skimmed through parts of it, but I basically jumped straight ahead to the 6 denials of Peter chapter . From what I've seen there, you present a balanced, educated view supporting your premise. Am looking forward to reading the rest of the book. :) Heresy --- to whom??? Heresy (imo) is defined by the person/ group leveling the accusation, and therefore the accusation is (imo) compromised -- since it is from ONE viewpoint. If you are (and you are) presenting valid points that shoot down docvic/ twi *doctrine*, certainly they will rally and call you every name in the book. You're a threat to them. Shucks -- we're ALL heretics here on GreaseSpot Cafe -- as pertains to twi. The main difference between you and the posters here is ---- you're published, and have an Amazon.com link!! (Will there be a sequel??)
  22. Hey there. Welcome to GreaseSpot. :) Here's a cool one for you Smarter. Nico -- welcome to you as well! (what's your preference in drinks??)
