  2. Hey there Rocky. :) We were watching a news channel (I BELIEVE it was MSNBC --- not sure) at work today, and this was the explanation they offered concerning the 3 vs. 5 days. She went in late one day, spent three FULL days there, and left early on the 5th day. Given her *status* (and most likely LOT'S of daddy's money/ influence) -- it was counted as 5 days. Shucks -- those jailers should be hired by main stream Christianity, for a biblical research team or something. They already know how to find the validity of 3 days and 3 nights --- from Friday night to Sunday morning!!! :biglaugh:

  5. Jeez!!! -- I had best go back to page 1, and read this whole thing!! Having said that -- I'll say this -- Docvic *lived the law of liberty*, to it's fullest extent. Not trying to denigrate you dr. Wear (there are two WW's here, so that will be my *monicker* for you, dr. Wearword), but everything you said ---- (from what I've read so far), validates what docvic, and lcm did -- in spades. And to put it bluntly -- that ain't cool. They messed with the believers -- in the name of liberty. Abuse of such a *law* was much more rampant in twi, than it will EVER be here at GSC. Make your accusations -- Paw is a firm believer in liberty, and you will be allowed to do so. Neither docvic, nor lcm were as gracious as that. You make some strong *claims* as to what the original sin is and what the unforgivable sin is. Yet you haven't PROVED that by scripture. All you have offered are YOUR opinions. And you are making assumptions about folks you haven't met, and treating it as Revelation from the Lord (would that be docvic talking??). OK -- I'm signing out here now. Going back to page one, to read this thing in it's entirety. I hope it makes sense when I peruse the pages, but somehow I doubt it will. (P.S. --What the heck does *capital punishment*/ and *law of liberty* have to do with a *holy thing*??? That's one thing I'd like to find out in my scanning of the previous posts).
  6. I admit -- I forgot as well. Was reminded about it when I tuned into a local talk radio station today. It was June 6th, 1944 -- 63 years ago. Allied losses on D-Day included 2,500 killed and 8,500 wounded. President Franklin D. Roosevelt went on the radio airwaves that evening, and offered this prayer: "My Fellow Americans: Last night, when I spoke with you about the fall of Rome, I knew at that moment that troops of the United States and our Allies were crossing the Channel in another and greater operation.   11. Chef --- Groucho is completely right about that. It was OVER-taught, if anything. I'm willing to bet that the MOST heard word (from twi) describing Christ was not --- Victorious, Magnified, Glorified, etc., -- but rather the word Absent. :(
  12. Hey there. :) I don't live by the law either (if the above was addressed to me). I relish liberty as much as you, or the next guy/ gal does. Given OT references, man changed what God said to do. Also -- (if I recollect correct) ----- LIFE MORE ABUNDANTLY was promised by Jesus, in John 10:10 (the gospels). And if --- Why isn't it mentioned in John 10:10, next to more abundant life?? Didn't docvic *change a word* by saying the *More Abundant Life*? I'm confused about your premise -- but you must have an answer for this, eh? (Remember --- It's All One Book!!)
  13. Joosta fer da heck of it, eh??? ---- (that's the Norwegian influence I've been exposed to for the past 30 years) -- I'll add my two cents wort here --- Uff-da!) Seriously -- While I believe in administrations (giving the *nod* to Mark and others who believe differently), I'm not as adamant about them as docvic or Bullinger was. I see different ways that God dealt with man throughout the ages. Garden of Eden/ then none. One set of rules gone, and others to be adhered to. Somewhere after that you get the 10 commandments (etc.)/ and NEXT --- A new set of rules to follow. The *Church* definitely got it's start on Pentecost, and a new *structure* entered. While I'm not a strict *disciple* (if you will) of 7 administrations (like docvic taught), I do see differences in the bible, as to how God expects folks to act. Like you all -- at one time -- I thought one way was better than the other. I was a firm believer that *what was written for our learning*, was just that, and nothing more. Fast forward to the time I attended a Messianic Jewish Bible Study -- a couple of 3 years ago. I talked to the Rabbi/ Pastor (he preferred to be called Pastor), a bit about this, and he gave me a puzzled look. He shook his head, and said --- "It's all one book", 'It's all one book". That simple phrase, spoken so unpretentiously, freed me from years of bondage. Suddenly I saw that while there may have been differences over God's ages, somehow they all have to mesh into one. And I'm not the judge of it. Don't ask me what I think about this -- cause I couldn't tell you (definitively). All I know is that before I thought I KNEW, and now I can consider other possibilities. After all -- It's All One Book, including the Gospels. What was it docvic always said?? -- Oh yeah -- I think I remember --- "Learning Is An Exciting Adventure". (he got at least one thing right!) :)

    Oh -- I can believe that. Absolutely and positively! In fact ---- if I had money, I'd even bet on it!! It just looks so lopsided with the bridge at that angle! That was all I meant by the comment. ;) Any guitar made by a private luthier has GOT to sound better than the mass produced ones. I've a friend (L!oyd LaP!ant) who makes both guitars and mandolins of excellent quality. Even when they're brand new -- they sound as good as if they've been played for 50 years. So I can truly believe you about the sound of THAT one! :)

  20. No comparison between the two (imo). The latter is a denigration of the former. Can't recall where Jesus ever cussed during righteous anger (unless *fox* and *whited sepulcher* count as cuss words). What I'm seeing here, and what I saw of lcm, is a lot of SELF - righteous anger (e.g. DON'T QUESTION ME!!!) I never had the *privilege* of hearing docvic *cuss righteously in anger*, (if there is such a thing). I vaguely remember the incident WordWolf mentioned about live pfal 77. I do remember docvic losing it while teaching The Red Thread at a SNS. (sns tape 801 -- 3/ 21/ 1976 if you want to check it out). At the time that seemed like righteous anger (after all this WAS DOCVIC teaching) --- (when he was knocking the $h!t out of the pulpit while teaching the Word), but looking back (these days), I see more self-righteousness, than otherwise. But that's just me. I never did see where cussing like a sailor/ trooper/ etc., yelling in expletives, screaming accusations, or demanding obedience in a threatening tone -- ever taught some one the love that is in Christ. :)

  22. Great answers/ suggestions from EVERYONE!! :eusa_clap: I guess I was *lucky* in having a ready made support group right there for me. It was the Bluegrass band I was in, and the jam sessions with others weekly. Easy to forget the hurt and betrayal, when you're thinking more about tunes. Some might call that denial, and maybe it was. Eventually the sessions would end for the night, and I was left alone with my thoughts. For whatever reason -- I was able to compartmentalize *betrayal time*, with *picking time*. Spent so much free time picking, it was able to out-weigh the hurt times I had. Sitting on the front porch swing with (whichever) instrument, I'd pick and ruminate. Btw -- my wife decided to divorce me at the same time all the twi stuff was happening. I was able to diffuse the anger/ hurt of both situations with the music. It took quite a while to *get over it all*, in fact -- 5 or 6 years. I had checked out a few churches around town as well during this time, and found the folks friendly, non-controlling, accommodating, etc. I didn't need *credentials* to come to their house of worship. What a breath of fresh air!! Then I decided to check out twi again, just for the he!! of it (no pun intended) in the early 1990's, and found them more controlling and worse than when I had left. I didn't last for even one month. I was used to freedom by then, and relished thinking for myself. I felt validated for having made the decision I did back in 1987. I guess getting involved in REAL LIFE, inter-acting with NORMAL folks is the main key. There's a big bright world out here. Enjoy the sunshine. Let the cloud's rain on someone else. Choose life. :)
