    Song of the moment

Ya really want to know ???? And .............. Andy (on fiddle), with Kentucky Thunder. And --- .If it isn't bluegrass ------ :)
  2. Fiddle ... Fiddle ... Fiddle! (Now we'll start to see adds about things with *strings attached*!) :P
  3. edited to say ---- I had to retract what I said. It wasn't kind.
  4. You came here asking the question -- *WHERE'S THE BEEF!!!* Woops !! I think I referenced the wrong poster!! MEA CULPA!!!! (Just kidding!!)
  5. I remember back when the over-riding question was -- WHO SHOT JR.??? Short stow-ry here. Bunch of us from Duluth went up to Hibbing, Minneysoda. (Yes -- the home of Bob Dylan), to *bless the believers there, by our presence at their twig. Sadly -- it was the night that revealed who actually did shoot JR (Larry Hagman) in the Dallas series. I think everyone had Dallas on their minds, and unfortunately missed the greatness of God's Word that evening! Immediately after fellowship, everyone began speculating as to who it might have been. We were RESOUNDLY, and EMPHATICALLY reproved by the lovely D@n@ Lynn, for thinking of temporal things, rather than the spiritual that we just heard. So while I've never seen the Sopranos) -- I can relate!! Here's a blurb, about the old Dallas show, from way back when ---- :)

    'FREE' BBQ grills

Handy for getting the MOG off stage too!! ;)
  7. Hiya Mr. H :) Would you even listen if an explanation were offered?? Several thoughtful observations have been made here, by those in the know. Yet you (and others), seem to discount it all as so much *baggage*. I'm not saying they are right, nor am I saying you are wrong. Just stating a fact. Perhaps you prefer The Sounds of Silence, so you can continue to speculate, eh?
  8. Greasy Tech mentioned early on (when these ads first showed up), to NOT click on them, unless you were serious! ;)
  9. Sighhhhh!!!!!!!! Durn feisty Italian New Yorkers living in Texas anyhoooo. :P :D :P
  10. Billy -- I thought that was what you meant. Hey -- I got something right for once!! ;)
  11. Aw shucks!!! Thanks! (Now if I could only convince you about correct pizza toppings!!)
  12. I just HAD TO break that up into paragraphs! :) I only bolded one statement, that I'd like to comment on. Many of us here HAVE been out for 20 plus years. Granted there are folks who experienced the *gay 90's*, and then there's some here who left just recently. Even though we still discuss that part of our common past, MUCH is being shared about how we live our lives today -- and sharing the joy, laughter, and freedom we now experience from daily life. So stick around and have some fun, or go somewhere else and have some fun there. Personally -- I'm not here to *pick scabs*. :)
  13. Good point. ;) (PS -- JW's and UCC-er's have *ex* sites for discussion. Presbyterians, etc., don't exert the minute mind control that the cult's did. Presby's, etc, left an organization. We (cultists) left a lifestyle.)
  14. I don't pray for CES. I pray for the folks involved. Maybe there are those who would say it's all one and the same thing, but I for one don't see it that way. I don't pray for CES to be healed. Whether it stands or falls as a *ministry*, is *small potatos* versus the lives of the people involved and their personal day-by-day walk. I pray for the folks (both individually and collectively) to find healing. The people (not the ministry) is what is important. God has gottten along fine without CES -- (Or ANY organized group as an org), but He has always (imo) loved the individual commitment. I think this is what Billy D was referring to, though I don't presume to speak for him. :)
  15. Photobucket is good too. I'm not sure exactly how it is done on a PC -- but if you register at photobucket, and find a pic you like on the web --- you can save it (on your desktop) and then the process following is this --- Create an account, then log into your account at photobucket. It will give you options for up-loading photos. click BROWSE. If your photo is on your desktop, that will be one of the options. Highlight, then click open on the photo you want, and that photo's url will show up. go to the UPLOAD button (once you found the photo you want) just below that. Click and and wait a second or two. When it says UPLOAD COMPLETE -- that pic is in your *library*. There are options below that pic, as far as re-sizing, etc. Usually --I click on the IMG link (it copies immediately), and when you come to GSC (or any other spot you want to post the pic,) *paste* it, and it will show up, as a pic. (edited to add --- WOOPS! Here's a link to register at PHOTOBUCKET, and yes -- it's free. :)

    Pirate 2011

    Congratulations to the Grad!!
  17. Bowtwi -- Happy Birthday!! :) I looked high and low for a video of the Julia Belle Swain for you (done by John) --- but none were to be found. :( I'm thinking that if THIS OLD TIME RIVER MAN WAS STILL ALIVE, he would be the first to wish you Happy Birthday, and sing that song cheek to cheek with you again. Every time I see your name, I'm reminded of him. Have yourself a good one (are you slumberin' on the Cumberland??) ;)
  18. Shucks -- while I'm thinking about it, didn't docvic START PFA*ELL with a quote from the gospels??? To promote his PROGRAM, destined to make him sovereign king over all us lowly minions????? Sure he did -- John 10:10 --- docvic's version of the abundant life came from the gospels. And to add insult to injury -- he used Malachi, to *prove* that we needed to fork over all the cash we had. Then he had the gall to tell us parts of the bible were *not for us*, conveniently forgetting he was using the same for cash in his pocket. Docvic certainly believed in the gospels (and other parts of the OT) -- as long as it benefited him. Like I said -- It's all one book. Some of us choose to see them in a different light. Depends on one's interpretation --- I guess.
  19. Penguin -- Yes -- this has *drifted too far from the shore*, of the original topic. Dr. wear (in his zeal to promote the *law of liberty*, has hijacked this thing completely, while contradicting himself all the while. :) I answered superfluously earlier, but let me make it more concrete -- with your post #1 in mind. Because of twi, yes -- I have a high regard for the epistles. Yes -- I ignored the Gospels for many years -- writing them off as *irrelevant*. Because of post-twi church affiliations, I've come to see the Gospels as important. While I realize that I am *seated in the Heavenlies* with Christ (stated in the Epistles) --- I have come to realize that the path that leads me to that point is -- (among other things), the Gospels and the teachings of Christ. Like I said earlier -- It's all one book. Cutting out one part of the book and regarding it as irrelevant, would be the same as cutting off an arm from the body, and saying "I don't need you". In the case of disregarding the gospels, and considering them *for our learning only*, one might as well cut off the Head of the body, and say -- "You're not needed." There. Did I make it plain enough?? (that's just my imo) :)
  20. Like I said earlier -- It's a nanosecond. definition of nanosecond:
  21. YES!!! (She could wear the *other glove*!!)
  22. Yes --- Happy Birthday!!! (P.S. --I checked his profile and here is what it said about his attendance here ----- ) I'm wondering if he will log in this year, and acknowledge the good wishes. ;)
  23. Hey there Annam (is that manna backwards???) Bolshevik is right, to a certain extent, and so are you. (imo) Certainly some of the topics here are drivel, or *dragging the old man around the mountain*. Generalizations that have been spoken of before, and really need not be brought up again. That I can agree with, and wholeheartedly at that! (Who wants to sound like a gossip, eh??) But some (or rather many) topics here are on a MUCH MORE personal level, that exponentially tell of the *DO as we SAY, and NOT as we DO* mentality that permeated twi. First hand accounts of abuse by *leadership* abound here by the folks that post here at GSC. First hand accounts, and not some 2nd hand *so and so told me so* reports. Bolshevik is 100% correct on this one (as pertains to folks dismissing common sense in favor of *the org*, but you are also correct that there are topics that are merely *worthless babel*. May I suggest that you look at more of the posts (over-all), than those just in this thread. :) We really do have a *Story To Tell To The Nations*, and it isn't a pretty one ---when it concerns twi. Of course you might be gone for good (from GSC) by now, and I'm typing pointlessly in answer. But if you're still around, check out the My Story forum (if no other), and get a ring-side seat to what some of us have gone through, and what we have to talk about, and why it seems important (these many years later) to finally say something. Here --- I LOOKED UP THE MY STORY LINK FOR YOU, so all you have to do is click it, and start reading. :) for what it's worth -- (imo) you'll find cockiness, bitterness, questions, and truth on this site. It's up to you (should you chose to do so), to discern between them all. But if you need to leave -- that's understandable too. :) God bless. dmiller
